《To Be Loved By A Mikaelson | Hayley Marshal》Mr. Bayou

"Good morning little witch." Gabriel greets the teenager as she walks into the apartment kitchen.
Davina sends him a soft smile in return and meekly greets Hayley, whom was sitting on a barstool at the counter with a large blanket adorning her shoulders. Hayley raises her mug of orange juice as a 'hello.'
Although they were the two most important people to Gabriel at the moment, thus making them care about the other to a certain degree, they had never really had the time to bond or converse.
"Here, sit down. I made you some breakfast." Gabriel says as he sets a plate of eggs and toast in front of the girls. "I know given what happened last night there is going to be a lot more anger and schemes going around the French quarter than usual, so if you plan on going anywhere today please inform me so that I know your safe. Those pathetic witches are up to something, I can feel it. If they touch you I swear-"
Davina clears her throat after sharing an amused glance with Hayley, interrupting his slightly overprotective dad role he had fit himself right into. "Actually... I was planning on staying home today. So that I could catch up on school work. You know, since I am joining pretty late into the school year the teachers sent me over some study guides and homework sheets."
Gabriel momentarily pauses his actions of opening his own laptop. Blinking, he nods. "School work, right."
After plopping a spoonful of eggs and relishing in the normal meal Davina looks towards him questionably. "What are you always doing on your computer? When you're not stopping Klaus' schemes, Elijah from making an ever bigger mess of said schemes, or just out and about you're on the computer."
"Oh! He owns businesses around the world apparently. He manages them through the phone or his computer." Hayley answers, making an effort to have some kind of conversation with Davina, which Gabriel notices.
"Yes, each business already has their own fake CEO or manager, so all I have to do is check the weekly or monthly reports to make sure everything's going accordingly." Gabriel further explains.
Davina nods her head as she finishes up her plate, placing it in the dishwasher. "Alright, I'd love to hear more about these us, businesses, but I'm gonna start my schoolwork now. Thanks for the breakfast." She smiles before leaving the room.
Gabriel watches the teen go and closes his laptop. "Did I already bore her?" He chuckles.
"She is a teenage girl who's getting the chance to be a teenager for the first time in her life. Booz and boys may not be on her mind yet, but the works of a business most definitely isn't." Hayley joins in his laughter.
Standing from his seat he crosses around the table to stand in-front of the pregnant wolf. She looks up to return his small smile and it continues to grow as he leans down to give her a chaste kiss. "mhm." He groans as she lifts her hands to yank at his hair. Pulling away he sighs when he sees her cheeky grin. "Don't tease me so early in the day woman."
"I don't know what you're talking about." She innocently replies though it soon becomes a squeal as he growls and lifts her from the chair, speeding towards their room.
Gently setting her on the bed she laughs as he gives her small pecks all over her neck. "What are your plans today?" He questions more seriously after laying himself next to her with an arm propped, holding up his head.

Hayley sighs just thinking about it. "I need to go to the Bayou to talk to Jackson and the pack about taking Klaus' deal. I really don't want to but the pack cant be defenseless when things like yesterday keep happening."
Rubbing her cheek he nods. "I know, just do what you think is right."
"Are you staying home with Davina?" She curiously questions.
"While I wish I could hover over her and make sure she's safe 24/7, I sadly cannot. I need to go deal with my brothers and make sure this deal Klaus is offering you all isn't some scheme that will come back to hurt you and the pack. I also need to see if Elijah finally dealt with Marcellus last night. Little pest." He whispers the last two words.
Hayley chuckles shaking her head in amusement. "Rebekah loves him and Davina looks up to him in some way. You cant kill him."
"I never said I wanted Elijah to kill him, how he decides to interpret what I told him to do is entirely up to him. Rebekah and my little witch will have to take it up with Elijah." He innocently sighs. "What a pity it would be to lose such a power craved man in this world."
"You're ridiculous." Hayley deadpans.
"Well little wolf no matter how normal I seem you cant erase being a Mikaelson." He shrugs and she laughs in response.
—
Gabriel walks into the compound hearing both of his brothers voices in the study. "Perfect." He whispers.
"Can I help you find something?" Elijah muses in mild amusement as Klaus sifts through the whole bookshelf very frustrated.
Pausing his actions he turns towards his brother with annoyance written clearly across his face. "Yes, in fact, I believe you can. I'm looking for a book, about yay big, filled with our mother's most powerful spells. It appears to have been misplaced."
Elijah takes a seat at the desk and hums. "How very mysterious."
Deciding to make his entrance, Gabriel chuckles. "My, my, Elijah. I never realized you were one for dramatics."
Both of the younger brothers swiftly turn towards the doorway in surprise. "Gabriel, I don't suppose you stole mothers precious journal, did you?" Elijah sarcastically quips.
"Indeed. At first, I feared the witches had succeeded in their efforts to obtain it, but, considering their last attempt ended with me relieving a rather large, tattooed gentleman of his hands, I began to wonder if the thief wasn't a bit closer to home." Klaus waves off his question, staring down Elijah whom nonchalantly scribbles in a notebook. "Don't make this harder than it needs to be, brother."
"Well, admittedly, I did have a theory that your sudden interest in mother's grimoire was in some way related to whatever foolishness you've been conducting with the Crescent wolves. Therefore, I took it upon myself to carefully place it where naughty, little fingers could not pry." Elijah tsks.
Rolling his eyes, Gabriel huffs. "You both act like such children. Now that I know that your mother knows of your little schemes, I'd also like to know what your endgame is Niklaus."
"And here I thought you, of all people, would understand. I am simply trying to help those wolves! Play Samaritan to the abused, champion to the underdog, so to speak." Klaus throws his hands up in mock innocence.
"How splendidly noble of you." Elijah drawls.
"Have you ever considered that, like you Gabriel, I am trying to keep Hayley safe? Using our mother's magic to empower her people so they are capable of protecting her?" Klaus groans.

Shrugging his shoulders he points towards Elijah. "It is not I, who hid your silly little magic book. If I didn't want it to happen then I would've told you to stop it immediately myself. My only concern is what you believe you will gain from helping them. Perhaps an army of wolves is what you have in mind?" Gabriel muses, knowing it would never happen because wolves are loyal to a fault and Klaus will never be their alpha.
Klaus ignores the last part of his brothers suspicions and turns towards Elijah as he approaches him. "Yes, unless, of course, they decide to seek retribution for decades held in exile, and Hayley will find herself in the middle of an uprising. One that will only provoke further violence. You see, you risk turning New Orleans into a war zone, brother. I won't let that happen."
Gabriel's jaw slightly clenches at Elijahs fierce need to protect the woman he beds every night knowing its not only for the sake of their niece. He wasn't insecure by any means, Elijah could never have Hayley. She was his.
"The drums of war were beating long before we returned. Gabriel will protect Hayley alongside me and might I suggest you use a little less of this," he makes a talking gesture with his hand. "And a little more of these." He finishes pointing to his ears.
—
Hayley is in the shack with Eve laying down on a lifted bed. "That's it. Inhale and release." Eve instructs.
Hayley glances around unsurely as she pictures actually giving birth in the shack. "I guess this means no epidural, huh? You sure I can't do this thing in, say, a hospital, the place with the doctors and the drugs?"
Eve chuckles. "Honey, the werewolves have been having babies out here since before you were born. Stop worrying."
"Okay. Then what, Eve? I don't even know what it's like to have a mother, let alone be one." Hayley looks down in conflict.
She pats her reassuringly on the back. "Trust me, when the time comes, you'll know exactly what to do."
"I hope so. As fun as it is to image Klaus changing dirty diapers, I'm pretty sure that I'll be doing this alone." She murmurs.
"I somehow doubt that."
Just then Elijah and Gabriel arrive in the doorway. After Klaus had gotten a call about Cami's uncle and left ELijah told him of his plans to confront and wasn't he wolves and Gabriel invited himself along because even though it had only been a couple of hours he had missed his little wolf and he wanted to make sure Elijah wasn't over stepping his boundaries.
"Pardon the interruption. I wonder if I might have a quick word with the conspirators of a supposed uprising." Elijah states. Both women look up in surprise, one woman smiling when she notices Gabriel behind the younger Mikaelson.
Elijah and leaves the shack to give them some space and Gabriel happily enters like a lost puppy who has finally found its owner. He holds a hand out to assist a heavily pregnant Hayley off of the bed.
"Take care of her." Eve says with a threatening tone layering her voice.
"With my life." Gabriel immediately responds sincerely. Looking up him and Hayley make brief yet intense eye contact with smiles gracing both of their faces.
—
Elijah, Jackson, Oliver, Eve, and Hayley are whom stand among Gabriel as they bicker over Klaus' deal back and fourth. if Elijah came all the way out here for this, he really wondered if this is what his brother does for fun in his free time.
"You're making a grave mistake." Elijah stresses.
Oliver snorts. "So, you're just worried about us. Is that it?"
Sending Oliver a reprimanding look Jackson sighs.. "Look, Elijah. We know all about your brother's reputation, but if there is even a chance that these rings can help us take control of our curse-"
"Our gift." Oliver corrects and Gabriel loudly sighs.
"-Then, honestly, we don't care what he's really after. Won't have to." Jackson explains.
"I see. There are those in the Quarter who will consider this a great provocation." Elijah warns, hopping to persuade them with the warning of the other factions.
"Apparently, most of them see us breathing the same way." Oliver quips.
When Elijah looks straight towards Hayley, Gabriel pulls hayley's hand into his own. Which doesn't go unnoticed by anyone there. "You signed a pledge, and you looked me in the eye as you did so."
Hayley squeezes Gabriel's hand and he knows she really doesnt want to start an argument or a little sense of betrayal with Elijah. "We don't want a fight, Elijah. We just want a better life."
"Allegiance with my brother will guarantee you anything but that." Elijah shakes his head.
Gabriels head perks up as he's the first of the group to hear the revving of a motorcycle. As they all get up Gabriel cautiously keeps Hayley besides him knowing damn well none of the wolves here rode them.
"What the hell?" Jackson curses as the man who had ridden the motor back onto their lands approaches the group. "Which one of you is in charge?"
"Who's asking?" Jackson crosses his arms in dominance.
Gabriel and Elijah exchange glances and before anything else can be said Elijah speeds forward to tackle the man and the Bike explodes. Everyone is thrown backwards, screaming and crying is all that can be heard.
Gabriel heaves as he attempts to catch his breath. Hayley underneath him, not squished or harmed at all, looks around in horror. Grabbing her jaw he tilts her head back and fourth. "T-tell me you're okay." He demands in a raspy voice. The explosion had caught the back of his body and he was still attempting to recuperate. It didn't help that the wolf instinct in him was scratching at the back of his brain like nails on a chalk board, needing to ensure himself that Hayley was okay.
Hayley lifts her slightly tears and terrified eyes and gasps as She notices his amber lit eyes searching every part of her face and body. "I-I'm Okay." She soothes, running her hand across his dirtied cheek. As she does sp she notices his amber eyes slowly fading.
Once he knew he was clam he stood himself up and then helped Hayley do the same as they surveyed the scene. Peoples clothing and skin are burnt off and now ash. there were injured wolves all hobbling around and the sight made both of their hearts clench.
"Hayley, are you ok?" Oliver rushes towards the Female alpha. Hayley only dismisses him and runs towards a little boy who had been standing near a very injured man. Picking the child up she shushes his cries. "It's ok. Here. Come here. Oh, God. Jackson? Here. Get him away from here."
Jackson rushes to their aid and takes the little boy towards a more safe spot.
Gabriel, Elijah, and Hayley all kneel next to the injured man. Lifting up the mans shirt, Gabriel reveals major burns covering the mans chest and stomach. "Wolfsbane."
"That explains my back." Gabriel sighs in discomfort.
Hayleys head snaps up in alarm and scurries to his back checking the damage. Pushing her arm away he assures her. "It's ok, I'm for the most part healed. But most of these other wolves don't have the quick healing that I do Hayley."
She nods and takes a deep breath, turning towards Elijah. "It must have been in the gas tank. You and Gabriel are the fastest. Take him, anyone else who can't walk on their own."
Gabriel nods and is quick to oblige. Rushing from wolf to wolf to rush them towards other wolves who could medically help. It's not too long later when he realizes he hadn't seen Hayley anywhere. Rushing towards Oliver and Elijah he glowers. "Where's Hayley?"
"Apparently she's gone on a mission to confront whoever was the cause of this." Elijah sighs, pinching the bridge of his nose.
"Of course she has." He grumbles. For a second he considers going to find her but then he looks around and realizes the wolves needed him here more.
"It's a good thing that bomb went off where it did. Could've been a lot worse. We all could've got killed." Jackson says to the two as they walk towards where all of the wolves where grouped up. A small space where the explosion hadn't reached.
At his words Gabriel pauses in his steps and Elijahs eyes grow in panic. Both of them notice the bomb planted underneath the RV next to all of the people. "Get everyone out of here! Now!" Gabriel yells, a sense of panic and worry Elijah had rarely ever heard in his brothers voice.
Just as he finishes his sentence and anyone has any chance to process his words, eight different bombs go off in different areas of the camp, hurting multiple people. Gabriels heart stops as he wonders why he hadn't been able to see it all before. Jumping into the role of helping all the people around him another bomb goes off right next to both him and ELijah. Elijah jumps to protect a nearby man while Gabriel pushes himself to speeds he had never reached to gather two different children on separate sides of him and covers them with his body protectively.
—
Anyone who wasn't too wounded to stand were treating the ones who couldn't. Gabriel had been lifting people out of the wreckage and once he's sure he couldn't hear any heartbeats or movements from anymore of the caved in huts he approaches the two wolves and Elijah who are crowding around Eves cold body that had just had an RV lifted off of it.
Gabriel sighs in sadness at the woman whom had first welcomed Hayley into the pack. Whom had only showed him kindness, despite his family name and species.
—
Gabriel watches Oliver rile up the remaining of the pack from a distance when Hayley joins him.
"They are counting on our doubts. That's right! Yeah! They are counting on our fears! That's right! Right!" Oliver screams.
Hayley stares at the side of Gabriels face. "You stayed."
"Of course." Was all that he responded.
"Come morning, they will know that we are not cowards." Oliver instigates.
Hayley turns towards Gabriels once more in confusion. "Gabriel, what's going on? What is he doing?"
"He's making a move for power in the wake of tragedy. He's not alone. There was another attack after you left." Gabriel sighs.
Hayley immediately rushes into the shack where Jackson sat absolutely devastated next to the dead body of Eve.
Gabriel looks around at all of the vengeful and mourning families and his heart aches at the thought of his own. When Kol and Finn died, no matter what they did, he found himself head deep in grief. He didn't know what to do with himself. And that's why when he witnessed everything that happened today he decided to go home to his current family. The one that he would always protect, seeing as Hayley was an alpha and the pack needed to grieve with their alpha he left with out saying anything.
—
Knocking on the door that wasn't all the way closed he quietly opens the door and a small smile graces his face when he sees his little witched knocked out with her computer opened on her lap and the school supplies he had gotten her sprawled all over her bed.
Carefully tip toeing around the room he places the laptop onto its charger and gathers all of her other supplies on the bed placing them in their respective places.
Leaning down towards the girl he gives her a kiss on the forehead. "Goodnight my little witch." He whispers as he covers her with her blanket that had been carelessly kicked to the ground in her sleep. She smiles in her sleep and he closes the door after turning off the light.
His family was safe.
