《To Be Loved By A Mikaelson | Hayley Marshal》Prologue

"It's hard to trust when all you have from the past is evidence why you shouldn't."
poker from the fire place warily. She slowly walks down the stairs with it firmly in her right hand ready to swing at any unwanted intruders.
When she sees an unknown yet somehow familiar looking blonde walking into the plantation like she owns the place she cautiously lowers her makeshift weapon. "Who the hell are you?" She says with a raised eyebrow.
"Ah, you must be the maid. Fetch my bags from the car would you?" The blonde says waving her off, looking around the home in nostalgia.
"Um, hello? Not the maid." Hayley says with a small attitude, annoyed that the blonde was treating her like dirt under her shoe.
Rebekah stops and eyes her up and down, mainly her stomach. "You must be the one my bastard brother knocked up, I was expecting more of a bump. Guess you're not showing yet. Speaking of brothers, where's Elijah?"
Hayley shrugs, Elijah was nice to her and she felt more safe with him than Klaus so his sudden exit made her a little more wary in her everyday life.
"Beats me, he's long gone." Hayley shrugs, a little angry about it.
"What do you mean long gone?" Rebekah says with narrowed eyes. Something was very wrong, her brother bothered her for weeks on end about this miracle Mikaelson baby, so there was no way he'd suddenly leave.
"One moment he was making epic promises and giving me his word that he would take care of what a one night stand and a bottle of whiskey got me into and next thing I know he's gone. I asked Klaus and he said that he bailed. I guess that's what I get for trusting a vampire." She finishes with a small frown.
"Elijah doesn't welch on deals. Which means Klaus has done something Dastardly like." Rebekah fumes and goes on to shouting, "KLAUS GET OUT HERE AND TELL ME WHAT YOU'VE DONE WITH OUR BROTHER YOU BLOODY WANKER!"
Hayley winces at her loud voice before slowly following behind the blonde to watch the scene play out between the siblings.
Klaus slams open his study doors with a smug smirk, "Rebekah! How lovely of you to join us."
"What have you done to Elijah?" She says with a fierce glare ignoring his greeting. Klaus shrugs and replies, "Maybe he's taking a nice autumn nap."
As Hayley listens to them argue back and forth she thinks back to a couple of weeks ago.
Flashback
Hayley sits on the couch reading a journal she found, she never caught a name but she assumed it was a male once associated with the Mikaelsons.

He wrote about finding love and the devastation he felt when he watched her die. She read on fascinated with how much passion this one man man had while writing about this unknown woman. She wished she could find a love like that.
She's interrupted by a throat clearing. She jumps frightened and snaps the journal closed looking up sheepishly at a smirking Elijah. He had a feeling that if she ever met the author of those journals they'd be a match made.
"You enjoy reading those journals." He said as more of a statement than a question.
She nodded silently, "The way he speaks so passionately about this woman. It's amazing. Who is he?"
Elijah slightly smirks thinking about said person. "You could say he's the glue to this family. He's the only one of us who could successfully put Niklaus in his place if need be."
"Well, where is he? If he's part of your family wouldn't he be here?" She asks confused. She knew about their vow of 'always and forever'
She honestly just assumed that all of Klaus' siblings were as loyal to him as Elijah was.
"Being a part of this family isn't always the most easy task. Every couple of centuries he goes off on his own and we let him be. He always comes back eventually. He can't stay away from Rebekah long enough." He says with a smile. Thinking of how protective he is of their little sister.
He snaps out of his thoughts when he realizes he came here for a reason and gets back to his main task of talking to the pregnant wolf. "Actually I came to talk to you, it's about the owner of those journals."
Hayley tilts her head slightly and stares at him confused. "What do you mean?"
Elijah pulls out a small tracker phone and puts it on the table in front of the she wolf. "If I ever happen to make a sudden disappearance and you need someone here to help you when Niklaus is causing you trouble. Call this number. He'll come and make sure you're safe and comfortable here while I'm gone."
Hayley nods with slight suspicion. He begins to walk away when she calls his name.
"What's his name?" She asks curiously, realizing that his name is never mentioned in any of the journals she's read nor has Elijah ever said it.
He smirks with his back towards her. He knew he was slightly playing match maker, but if Niklaus wasn't going to take care of the she wolf he knew his brother would.
He just continues to smirk and while walking away he calls, "Maybe one day you'll learn."
Hayley rolls her eyes at the dramatics of this family but secretly she was so curious that it annoyed her.

Flashback over
Hayley silently gasps as she suddenly remembers the phone Elijah had left for her in case of emergencies during his absence. By then Klaus had left and Rebekah had been pouring herself a drink.
"What is it?" Rebekah asks slightly worried for the woman pregnant with her soon to be niece or nephew.
"I just remembered, Elijah left me a phone with a number on it. He told me to call him if he ever went missing and I didn't feel safe with Klaus." She says already walking up the stairs in determination. Rebekah follows the woman confused.
"Hayley I don't know who he was talking about he sounds like he's gone mad .... wait. Of course!" She yells in realization but then frowns. "Well it won't work." She says with a sad sigh.
"What do you mean?" Hayley stops and asks confused. Elijah didn't seem like a liar and he wouldn't leave her with something like this if it wasn't going to work.
"I've been trying to call him for weeks and it just goes to voice mail. When he leaves he usually shuts out all form of communication." She says with a sad expression. She loved him, he made sure Klaus couldn't torture her and always made sure she was well taken care of. He spoiled her more than anyone she had ever met. That was something the rest of their family loathed.
Hayley searches through her underwear drawer for the phone and eventually finds it. "It can't hurt to try." She says hopefully shrugging. Part of her was just hoping to meet the writer of the journals she was currently still reading.
Rebekah rolls her eyes knowing that if he didn't answer for her he wasn't going to answer for a random stranger calling his phone. Then again, Elijah did set it up.
"Elijah I hope someone is dying, you know not to contact me while I'm away." A smooth voice says coming from the phone.
The voice brings chills down Hayley's back. Rebekah slightly smirks seeing Hayley stand there a little bit dumb founded.
'Of course Elijah would make him being daggered as a chance to be Cupid.' Rebekah mentally rolled her eyes.
"Someone is definitely going to be dying if you don't explain why the bloody hell you answer Elijah's calls but ignore all of mine!" Rebekah says whining a bit like a child. But her feelings were genuinely hurt. Her brother never threw her aside like her other brothers but lately he didn't seem like he cared.
"You know I love you Bex. Elijah only has this number because he claims we need it for family emergencies and since it's not Elijah calling I'm going to assume Niklaus did something Niklaus like and Elijahs not available." The man says with annoyance deeply rooted in his voice.
"U-uhm Elijah told me that if I ever needed help dealing with Klaus because he suddenly disappears that I should call this number." Hayley says blushing slightly, but knowing that if she didn't intervene Rebekah would probably continue to scold the man.
You could hear a deep chuckle from the other side of the phone line that gave the brunette goosebumps. "Are you the pregnant she wolf?" He asks not surprised, Elijah had been sending him messages up until a few weeks ago hoping he'd reply. Of course he never did but he did read them.
"Um yeah." Hayley clears her throat slightly embarrassed that, that was what he referred to her as.
"Don't be embarrassed little wolf, we all make mistakes. Sleeping with Niklaus might be a bit bigger than the others though." He says in a cheeky tone hoping to cheer her up after sensing her embarrassment. He had no clue why but he felt the need to hear her laugh. And that he did.
She laughs slightly and snorts unattractively but immediately covers her mouth in embarrassment, turkey looking like a teenager. Rebekah stands to the side slightly amused as she listens to them flirt. Elijah knew what he was doing.
"Anyways I'll be there soon. Love you Bex, don't do anything to anger Niklaus until I'm there. Stay safe little wolf." He says and hangs up making Hayley's previous giddy mood deflate a bit.
"When Elijah first told me about this phone he said that he's the only one who can control Klaus, what did he mean?" Hayley suddenly asks turning towards Rebekah. She wanted to know more about this mysterious stranger.
"It means that out of all of our siblings he could easily beat Niklaus in a fight. He's all of our favorite sibling easily because he's the only one who could stand up to Nik and has done it a hundred times for us." Rebekah says walking out of the room with a happy and relived small smile. Now that her elder brother was coming she'd no longer have to worry about Niklaus' temper. Even he knew touching her while her brother was around was a death sentence.
Hayley sits in her room watching Rebekah leave in slight excitement.
'She was finally going to meet the writer of those journals and maybe things would get a bit better around here.' she thinks rubbing her tiny stomach.

In fear against the threat of mutants, the once small section of the police force grew until it became the main police force in Japan. After all, humans shouldn't be blamed for crimes when the real threat to society is mutants. This police force that goes by their motto: Special Treatment Against Mutants (STAM) is comprised of agents that go about their work to capture and detain all mutants. Sector 26 is the poorest sector that humans can barely survive in; but there is one more part of Japan.
