"Don't move too fast.." Baley whispered as Eve woke from her slumber in a fright, before moaning at the pain in between her legs and radiating through her body. She twisted around on the bed filled with pillows and feathers to see Baley staring down at her with a smile.
A genuine smile. Something that she didn't see much.
"Hi." Baley breathed.
"Hi." Eve whispered. Baley leaned down and kissed the woman's lips softly, the memories from the night before filling Eve's mind. The ache between her legs intensified and she gasped as she felt something cool lay against her pussy.
"It'll help you feel better. Lay down, okay? You deserve to rest."
"And you don't?" Eve asked as she sat up and watched as her lover moved around the room. She shook her head, Baley staring down at her jars of sap and healing potions as she sighed.
"We have a problem. I was going to wait until later to tell you because you need to-"
"What is it?" Eve asked. Baley sighed and turned around to look at Eve who's eyes were a soft burgundy color.
"It's starting.." Baley whispered in shock as she walked over and gripped Eve's face in her large hand. Eve blinked rapidly, confused at what Baley was saying.
"What?"
"You're changing. It worked. You'll be ready by the war."
"What war?! What is you talkin, right now?!" Eve hissed, the sudden heat growling in her chest. Baley watched in amazement as the internal fire traveled through Eve's body, the fire visible through her pale skin. Baley smiled widely as she caressed Eve's warm cheek, causing her to suddenly calm down.
"Your powers, baby. They're coming. We need to start training. The war of duality. Last night while we made love, they were watching. The dark priest that killed your mama. He's comin on the full moon in two weeks."

"To do what?"
"To kill both of us."
"You keep your head low. Don't say a word. You a hear someone call, you keep ya mouth shut. Understood?" Baley hissed as they continued to ride on the horse. Both their faces were covered with black veils and they had cloaks around their bodies to keep them covered from the public. They were on their way to the botanica, Baley needing more herbs and jars in order to teach Eve the closed practices her mother wanted her to learn.
They rode through the town, people staring in fear as they kept their heads bowed in their cloaks, Eve's arms tightening around Baley's waist. They finally reached the top of the hill, tying the horse to the tree before walking inside.
"Finally..it's been so long I thought they got you already." The older woman chuckled as Baley lowered her veil, leaning in to kiss the woman's cheek.
"Of course not. Especially with a woman like you on my team? Please, Cherie. You wish."
They both laughed and Eve swallowed hard as she removed her veil and looked at the two women. The older woman had pale skin similar to Eve, but her hair was pitch black. She had dark eyes that were nearly animalistic and it caused Eve to look away.
"Well..you're not gonna greet your mother in law?"
Eve gasped and looked up in shock at the pale woman as her skin morphed, dark spots multiplying until the melanin covered her skin completely. Her hair changed to its normal color and she grinned, looking just like Baley.
"This is my spirit mother. You met her a few times in your past life."
Eve nodded and walked closer before standing in front of the woman who stared at her in awe.

"We must move fast. We have a lot to do. Eve, come I have a lot to give you."
"This was my mother's?" Eve asked as she looked up at serenity. She smiled and nodded as she watched Eve flip through the journals and spell books. Eve grabbed the black satchel that was sitting on top of a photo album and opened it, gasping at the different crystals that shined under the natural light.
"I remember those." Baley chuckled before sighing as she remembered the crazy red head always collecting crystals. She would travel to the most exotic places on foot, gliding across the country to collect different stones and rocks that helped balance her energy.
And other things.
"You can keep those. It will help. You can keep everything. She left it all for you." Serenity breathed as she smiled sat at Eve. Eve's eyes filled with white tears, the white liquid dripping down her cheeks.
"Oh my..Baley, you didn't tell me it was happening so fast."
"I know. I wanted you to see for yourself."
The three women spent the rest of the evening gardening in silence as a way to give back to the earth. Serenity used sign language to teach Eve how to plant certain herbs. She understood it immediately, planting the herbs and writing down the instructions the older woman was giving her.
Baley watched, smiling at the sight of her lover and mother bonding over their gifts. She was grateful that Eve was taking in all the information she needed because she knew what was to come.
She wanted nothing more than to save her from the dreadful outcome she kept seeing in her head. She was ready for was no matter what it costs, even if it was her own life. She was willing to protect her soulmate even if it meant losing hers in the process.
They were now on their way back to their home, the sun being replaced by its sibling as the sky darkened gradually. They swiftly glided through the woods hand in hand, laughing in the wind and sneaking passionate kisses in between.
"I'd give you the moon if I could. I would make you the finest bracelets out of moon rocks and a piece of my heart."
"You don't have to when you're already a piece of mine." Eve responded back as they stopped in front of a large willow tree. Baley towered over her lover, causing Eve's back to hit the tree.
"Kiss me.." Eve whispered, her voice echoing in the wind as her hand touched the side of her lovers face. Baley obeyed, her lips smashing onto Eve's as if it was the first time all over again.
Eve moaned into her mouth, her nails digging into Baley's cloak and ripping it into pieces, exposing her naked body under the moonlight. She pulled back from the kiss and dropped hers before pulling Baley to the ground with her.
"Make love to me."
