《Not Never (Complete)》Chapter 11 - Part 1

Ashley was filled with anticipation when the time came to implement her plan. At midnight most people were already asleep or would be dozing off soon. She ensured she was dressed in black from head to toe. Her parents had gone to bed a hour ago as she had lain patiently waiting in her own bed.

She moved as quietly as possible so she didn't disturb her parents. The thrill and the excitement of what she was about to do was starting to take hold.

When she got into her car she held her breath when she turned the key in the ignition and it rumbled to life. She checked to make sure her parents bedroom still remained dark.

She eased the car out of her driveway and slowly drove down the street. The usually bustling neighbourhood was still and quiet.

It was a good thing she remembered the drive to Noah's house otherwise the prank wouldn't have been possible. It would have raised flags if she had questioned her friend about the address of her ex-boyfriend. And there was no way she was going to ask Maddox. This was her prank, something she wanted to do alone. Besides she didn't want to talk to him.

When she drew closer to her destination she slowed down to make sure she parked a good distance away. It was dark. The only lights came from the street lights and the occasional bedroom window. This was going to be riskier than the prank she had played with Maddox. The thought scared and excited her at the same time. It made her feel more alive.

She stopped her car in the same place Maddox had parked night. She switched off the engine and slowly got out the car ensuring she made as little noise as possible.

All the lights were off but she scoped out Noah's house for ten minutes before being confident enough to go through with her plan. She grabbed the plastic wrap out of the car and quietly crept over to Noah's car.

Her heart raced as she started on the front of his car and walked around it for a couple of times but she needed to make it more difficult to get it off otherwise it was going to be too easy for him to unwrap it. She felt a moment of nervousness before she shoved the roll of plastic under the car and went to the other side to get it. It wasn't as easy as she had planned.

There was an a unexpected noise so she crouched down behind his car hoping she wasn't going to get caught. Adrenaline pumped through her at the thought of being caught in the act. Unfortunately this task involved a lot more than lobbing eggs from a few feet away.

She swallowed while she waited. The silence stretched on enough for her to feel confident enough to continue.

She wrapped his car as well as she could. The difficult parts were trying to wrap the plastic over the roof but after what seemed like an hour she stepped away from his car with the second empty roll surveying her handiwork with satisfaction.

It was well and truly wrapped and looked like a present in clear plastic. She giggled when she began to back away. It was late already and she had to get back home before her parents discovered she wasn't in her bed.

On the ride home she kept picturing Noah's shocked expression when he saw his car gift wrapped in the driveway. She giggled. It would take him a while to get it off. It was disappointing she wouldn't be able to see his reaction.

Before Maddox she would never have contemplated doing something as wild as this. Not only had it given her a better rush than staring over an edge of a cliff but she was getting payback as well.

It was nearly two in the morning when she parked her car back in her driveway. And she slowly make her way back her room. She changed before getting into bed and pulling the covers up to her chin. She knew she had to get some sleep otherwise she was going to be so tired but the adrenaline took a while to wear off before she fell asleep.

*********

Ashley was running late. She yawned covering her mouth with one hand as she raced to school hoping to make it in time. After snoozing her alarm three times she had finally dragged herself out of bed and gotten ready for school. Even though she was dead tired and probably late for school nothing was going to dampen her mood as she smiled all the way to school.

She made it into her first class just as the first bell went. For the first time she wasn't worrying about people talking about me behind her back or leaving mean notes in her locker. No this time she was waiting for people to find out what she had done to Noah's car.

It didn't take long before everyone at school had heard about his car.

"I didn't even know it was possible to do that," Diane remarked with a satisfied smile.

In that moment Ashley felt proud that she had been able to do something to make her friend smile.

"I wonder how long it took him to get it off," Sally chimed in.

Ashley shrugged, trying to play it cool so she didn't let on that it had been her. No one could know and that included her friends.

It wasn't like they would rat on her so that wasn't the reason she kept mum of the subject. It was fear of them questioning her about it and it would lead back to the first prank with Maddox.

She didn't want to think or talk about Maddox. She hadn't heard from him again and she told herself she was fine with that, even when thinking about him still twisted her into knots.

"I wish I could have see it," Sally said wistfully.

Ashley had to bite her tongue so she didn't say anything that would incriminate her.

"Do you think it was his friends?" Diane questioned.

"Maybe." Sally shrugged.

It wouldn't be a stretch to believe it could have been carried out by his friends. Guys did this type of thing all of the time.

In a couple of her classes she nearly dozed off and when school ended she was exhausted. She was going to go straight home to sleep. Nothing else matter more than catching up on her missed sleep.

When she felt a pang of guilt for not taking notes round to Maddox she suppressed it with the reassurance that he had other girls to ensure he caught up.

She bet he was home waiting for Macy to show up with his notes.

She frowned when she felt the stab of jealously. No she couldn't allow herself to feel like that, especially over a boy like Maddox. She had been naive and stupid before. She wouldn't let that happen again. He had heartbreak written all over him and it was wise for her to take heed.

This was the last day of his suspension which meant this would be her last Maddox free day. She was nervous when she thought about him coming back at school the next day.

She didn't want him to know that seeing the other girls at his house had gotten to her but she didn't know how to explain why she hadn't returned his call if he asked.

Her lack of energy and focus allowed her to push it to the side. Getting sleep was important. Maddox could wait until the next day.

When her house finally drew near she sighed with relief. Just a few more minutes and she could get some sleep. The thought gave her a warm and fuzzy feeling she inside of her chest. She couldn't wait. She yawned.

Her muscles felt stiff and tired. Apparently wrapping a car in plastic was a good work out.

It was only after she parked her car and got out did she notice a car parked in the street to the side of her house.

Her heart slammed in her chest when she watched Maddox get out of his car.
