today is the day.

the day i meet two of my best friends in person.

i know i've only known them for about a week, it feels like much longer. is that cliche? probably.

i'm going through my suitcase, trying to find a suitable outfit. i find a black t-shirt and pair it with black jeans. i leave my hair down and straighten it and do my makeup. i grab my phone and see a snapchat from johnny.

my mom tells maddie and i that it's time to go. we walk down to the lobby.

"kenzie, is it true that your new boyfriend and his sister are coming today?" maddie says.

"he's not my boyfriend. he's just my best friend, and so is his sister." i reply.

"ooh, you friendzoned him. have you done that to his face?" maddie asks.

"considering i've never seen him in person, no." i say.

"you know what i mean." she says, rolling her eyes.

"yes, his sister said that she shipped us, so i said 'it's not like anything will actually happen between us, we're just friends." i tell her.

"kenzie! he probably likes you and you've friendzoned him twice!" maddie says.

"maddie. we're. just. friends." i say.

"okay, girls just drop it. we're almost to the plaza." my mom says.

our uber drops us off at the hamman plaza. it's 11:15. we walk over to the stage and go behind it.

how this works is that we'll meet some of the fans, and then maddie and i will go up onto the stage. the fans will ask us questions and then the vips can come up into the stage and meet us.

"mackenzie!" my mom says loudly.

"what?" i say.

"i said, do you want to get panda express after this?" she asks.

"definitely! and do you think johnny and lauren can come with us?" i ask her.

"your internet friends?" she asks.

"yeah." i say.

"that's fine with me." she replies.

i grab my phone to snapchat johnny and ask him if they can come.

can u and laur come to panda express with us after the m&g?

just then i felt a tap on my shoulder. i turn around.

"johnny!" i scream. i grab him and pull him into a hug. we rock back and forth until someone clears their throat.

"lauren!" i yell again, also grabbing her into a bear hug.

"i can't believe i'm meeting you guys!" i say to both of them.

"me neither!" says johnny.

"i'm glad that we finally arrived. you should've heard him in the car. 'i can't wait to meet kenzie!' kenzie this! kenzie that!" she says, mimicking johnnys voice.

"lauren!" johnny says, hitting her arm.

"kenzie!" maddie yells from behind me. "it's time to get to the meeting area!"

"sorry guys, i have to go! here are your tickets, you'll see where you're supposed go. see you!" i yell as i walk away.

"how was your first meeting with your friends?" maddie asks as we wait for the guards to open the meeting area to the fans.

"they're so nice! i love them!" i say.

"even johnny?" she asks slyly.

"not like that you idiot!" i say.

"girls, no fighting! they're opening this area now." my mom says.

as soon as she says that, a whole flock of fans pour in. the first girl in line was someone i've already met at a few meet and greets.

"hi!" she says excitedly.

"hi! how are you?" i ask.

"i'm good! can we take a picture?" she asks.

"of course!" i say. she hands her phone to my mom and my mom takes a few pictures.

"i'll see you soon i bet!" i say to her as she leaves.

the next person in line was a new person, i've never seen her at any other meet and greets before.

"oh my god i can't believe i'm here!" she says.

"hi! is this your first meet and greet?" i ask her.

she nods.

"i'm gonna cry!" she says.

"no don't cry! this is supposed to be happy!" i say, trying to keep it upbeat.

"can we take a picture?" she asks me.

"definitely!" i say. my mom takes the picture again. i meet lots more fans. once the line is down, maddie and i move to the stage.

"okay. how this works is you guys can ask maddie and mackenzie some questions, and they will answer them. we might not get to all of you, so please don't feel bad!" my mom says through a microphone.

"who has any questions?" my mother asks the crowd.

"when are you releasing new music kenzie?" one yells.

"i'm working on some things right now, but i can't say when it's being realeased at the moment!" i answer.

"who is johnny orlando?" yells one.

"he's my internet friend, but his sister and him are here today." i answer.

"is he your boyfriend?" another fan screams.

"no. i haven't had a boyfriend since hayden." i say.

"why did you break up with hayden?" yells someone.

"he cheated on me with annie." i say. i instantly feel bad, knowing people are going to give both of them hate. "please don't go and hate on them, obviously it wasn't meant to be with us!" i add on.

"do you like johnny?" yells a fan.

"as a friend, yes." i say. i look at my mom and she seems to know what i mean.

"no more questions about mackenzie's love life please." my mom announces.

"is maddie still dating jack?" someone yells.

"yes." maddie says.

the question part of the day was over. now all the vips could come up to the stage. i was scanning the small crowd for the orlando's. there were only 20 vips.

"kenzie!" i heard someone say behind me.

i turned around and saw johnny and lauren.

"hi guys!" i say.

"how'd you enjoy the question part, kenzie?" lauren says, smirking.

"wait why?" i ask, confused.

i see johnny look at lauren and shake his head. she smirks back.

"oh, just that almost all your questions were about this idiot." she says, pointing to johnny.

"hey!" he says.

"kenzie? is this johnny?" says one of the vips.

"yes, and his sister lauren." i say.

"omg! johnny is even hotter in person!" she says.

i look at lauren and we burst out laughing.

"what?" says the fan.

"nothing." i say. "do you want to take a picture?" i ask her.

"yes!" she says.

"lauren, can you take the picture?" i ask.

she nods and the fan handed her phone to her.

"thanks!" said the fan after lauren took the picture.

"kenzie, its time to go. are they coming with us?" maddie asks.

"yeah." i say.

"wait where?" lauren says.

"to panda express." johnny and i say in unison.

"yay! i love food!" lauren says.

i laugh. we walk to the uber my mom ordered and we hop in.

"kenz, do you want to have lauren and johnny over for a sleepover? it's been awhile since you've had friends over." my mom asked.

"do you guys want to?" i ask.

"sure! we just need to get our things from our house." lauren says.

"what about you?" i say to johnny.

"sounds fun." he says.

"yay! the sleepover is on!" i say happily.
