《A Fiery Love: A Charlie Weasley Love Story》Chapter 4: Maybe

Charlie’s POV
Why couldn’t I stop thinking about her?
Why would I tell her I remember her from Hogwarts like some crazy stalker?
Why am I such a wuss when I’m with her?
All these thoughts flooded my mind as I laid in bed. She was just so beautiful and smart and nice and soft and clumsy but it’s cute and her smile….
“Wait! What am I doing?” I said outloud.
I’ve never been focused on a girl before. My entire life has been around animals, especially magical creatures. Even at Hogwarts I never really dated. I spent most of my time helping Hagrid out. I realized early that dealing with Magical Creatures was easier than dealing with a nagging girl for the rest of my life! But, when I thought about Izzy everything changed. All I wanted to do was be next to her and talk to her. I really wanted to get to know her better.
The next morning I got up as usual and took a quick shower to ease my mind. As I got out I realized my hair was getting long again. Ever since Mum butchered my hair for Bill and Fleur’s wedding I’ve kept it short. Easier to manage I guess…
As I arrived at the Institution Izzy was waiting for me inside. She smiled her gorgeous smile at me. I could feel my legs turning into jello.
“Hey Charlie!” She exclaimed.
“Hey Izzy!” I said while waving. Keep it together, I thought. “You ready to walk up to your spot?”
“Yeah! Thank you so much for showing me that spot! The view is amazing.” Her eyes lit up talking about it.
We walked up the mountain again. I let her go in front of me this time so she wouldn’t fall and get hurt… again. As soon as we got there she pulled out her notebook and began writing things down. I sat down on a bolder watching her observe our largest Chinese Firebolt.

“So you remember me from Hogwarts?” She asked randomly.
Ahhhhhh Crap!!!
“Um.. Yeah I do.” I said feeling my face turn red.
“How?” She looked back at me and gave me a half smile.
“I remember you walking into The Great Hall for the first time. You had a big smile on your face and was talking to a really tall boy.” I can’t believe I just blurted that out.
“You have a really good memory.” She turned back and continued writing.
She began to hum to herself. I couldn’t recognize the tune at all, but it sounded pretty. Pretty? Listen to me I sound like such a girl.
“What are you humming?” I asked.
“Are you lonesome tonight. It’s a muggle song.” That explains why I didn’t know it. “I enjoy singing to myself even though I know I’m not very good.”
“You sound great to me.” She turned around and smiled at me. I felt my chest flutter.
“You come from a big family, right?” She asked without looking up from her notebook.
“Yeah, I have five brothers and one sister. One of my brothers isn’t with us anymore though. He died during the war.” I felt my heart tug a little. I usually didn’t talk about Fred’s death.
“I’m so sorry to hear that. I’m an only child so I don’t know what it’s like to have siblings.” She turned around and gave me a heart felt smile.
“My little sister, Ginny, is getting married in a week. It’s strange that she’s grown up so fast and is already getting married.” I smiled at the thought of my dad walking Ginny down the isle towards Harry.
“That’s exciting. Who’s she marrying?”
“Harry Potter.” When I mentioned his name she stopped writing.

“That’s sweet. He’s a nice boy.” Was all she said.
We stayed quiet for a while until an owl flew by dropping a letter into my lap. It was from Mum.
Charlie,
I hope everything is well with you my dear. Listen since everyone else is going to have a date or is married I thought it would be nice if you invite a Lady Friend to accompany you to the wedding! And no, you can not bring a dragon or any other creature.
Love Always,
Mum
Oh great… She would tell me this.
“Whose it from?” Izzy asked.
“My Mum. She’s telling me I need to bring a date to the wedding. She’s always nagging me about settling down and meeting a nice girl.” I tucked the letter into my pants and looked at Izzy.
“My mom is the same way. She likes to ask when she’ll have grandchildren.”
We got quiet again when I decided to just ask.
“Do you want to go? To the wedding I mean? With me?” She turned to look at me.
“Sure, I’ll go with you.” She smiled up at me then turned back at her notebook.
I felt my heart pounding inside my chest. I looked over at her and noticed her cheeks were a little pink. Maybe I seriously had a chance with her.
