"COME EAT GIMBAP!" Seokjin shouts to the apartment in general.
"I hope things are going well with Namjoon," you sigh, handing Seokjin a large plate.
He nods and starts piling gimbap onto the plate.
"It's Namjoon, normally he should be alright.
But that girl though... he might have met his match."
Jungkook, impatient, grabs a slice right off the cutting board, as Seokjin tuts at him.
A door slams open against a wall in the distance,
and with a storm of thudding footfalls,
Taehyung's there,
skidding to a stop beside you.
He reaches around you, his brute force and his elbow squashing your face into Jungkook's shoulder,
as he grabs at the gimbap on the counter.
"Ya! You pushed her!" Jungkook says, shoving his hand between your cheek and Taehyung's elbow.
You clutch at your face.
"Thanks a lot, Tae."
"Sorry!" Taehyung laughs, shoving the rice and seaweed into his mouth.
"Wow. We are all savages," Jin shakes his head, turning to cut the next roll.
"Don't group me in with you guys," Yoongi drawls, strolling out from the hallway, his hair askew.
He pauses to acknowledge you.
You give him a wave.
"Hey hyung, took a nap again? Didn't you already nap earlier?"
Taehyung tilts his head.
"That was early afternoon. I can nap again now that it's evening," Yoongi shrugs.
He brings a small plate from the shelf, taking five slices of gimbap out from under Seokjin's still-moving knife,
as Seokjin jerks his knife away and shouts.
"Do you want to lose your fingers?!!?"
Yoongi lifts an eyebrow at Seokjin's outburst, and leaves the kitchen.
"Ya!
YA! MIN YOONGI!" Seokjin shouts after him.
You meet Jungkook's eyes and he's grinning,
and you try to smother your laugh,
but a giggle sneaks out
and Seokjin's head whips toward you, eyes narrowed.

Jungkook's arm snakes out and grabs you,
and he turns his back to the eldest,
hiding his own grin and burying your giggling face in his chest.
"I saw you both laughing," Seokjin says.
"Ungrateful kids."
He goes back to slicing the gimbap,
his knife thudding a lot more heavily now that he is irritated with the lot of you.
You feel a little warm as Jungkook's chest stops vibrating with laughter,
but he still doesn't let you go.
He rests his head against the top of your head,
his arms slipping down to the small of your back.
You close your eyes and breathe in the scent of his detergent,
the lingering smell of his cologne,
relaxing in the warmth of his arms.
"Missed you today," he whispers quietly,
so quietly, that you hardly hear him even with his mouth right near your ear.
You're sure that he meant it that way,
so Taehyung and Seokjin wouldn't hear, even if they are right here.
You press your face a little harder into his chest, so he would know you heard him.
"Don't get so lovey dovey in the kitchen, I'm trying to eat," Taehyung frowns.
Jungkook jerks his head up and opens his mouth,
no doubt with some snappy reply,
but your phone vibrates and rings, cutting him off and saving Taehyung.
You reach in your pocket, wriggling against Jungkook, but he doesn't let you go,
smiling as he watches you struggle.
You roll your eyes at him,
and settle for leaning against him as you finally pin down your phone between your fingers and pull it out with a huff and probably a cramp in your hand.
You read the caller ID across your screen, and feel a smile on your face as you answer.
"Hey, I miss you," you say fondly into the phone right away.
Jungkook's eyebrow immediately flicks up onto his forehead.
He narrows his eyes.
"Hi Chaeyoung," Taehyung leans into your face, calling out loudly.
"You know her friend?" Jungkook asks.
"Oh yeah, we went to school together," Taehyung answers.
How Jungkook can understand him is beyond you,
because around the giant mouthful of rice in his mouth even you can barely understand him,

though you know what he's probably saying.
But Jungkook does understand, because he narrows his eyes.
"How do you know which friend it is?"
"Dude, she only has like, one friend," Taehyung replies easily.
You are wondering if you should be offended by this,
but Chaeyoung answers in your ear.
"It's true. He's right. You loner. Hi, Taehyung!"
Jungkook's hands lock around you as his jawline hardens.
He leans into the phone.
"Hi, I'm Jungkook," he says.

Jungkook
---------------------
Jungkook doesn't like it.
He really doesn't like it at all
that here she was,
in his arms,
but somehow Taehyung knows more about her.
He feels his hands tighten around her
of their own accord.
"Hi, I'm Jungkook," he says into her phone.
He leans down to say this,
and brushes his lips against her ear on purpose, and is pleased to see her blush.
"I would love to meet you in person some time," Jungkook adds.
His Soulmate's eyes widen, and she stares at him in surprise.
Her surprise surprises him.
As though Jungkook was never friendly with strangers.
As though he has never made an effort to meet her family or friends-
.......
... He hates himself.
---------
He thinks about this the whole time she is on the phone, smiling and laughing
and Jungkook wonders why he had never been more supportive.
Because he knows he would love to become part of her circle.
Just like how he loves that she is part of his circle already.
He was going to have to try harder.
"Okay, I'll call you tomorrow," she finally says, with a smile,
the sweetness in her voice for her friend something completely new to Jungkook.
He watches as she hangs up, the happiness still lingering in her expression.
"Jungkookie, the look on your face could kill somebody," Seokjin chides as he glances over.
Jungkook startles, and his Soulmate looks up at him.
"What's wrong?" she asks.
"He's just jealous he knows nothing about you," Taehyung sprays a rain of rice from his mouth as he talks.
"That is disgusting," Seokjin flinches away.
"You are way too jealous!" Taehyung waggles his finger at Jungkook.
"You're so possessive. That's not attractive."
-------------
You
-------------
Jungkook's face darkens.
He lets go of you,
walking forward,
towards Taehyung, whose eyes widen.
As Jungkook's hulking form comes within arm's reach,
Taehyung flusters, taking a step back,
picks up a plate full of gimbap
and turns to run for it,
shouting "Jimin!" as he disappears down the hall.
"Coward," Seokjin shakes his head.
Jungkook spins around to face you.
He locks you in with his gaze.
"You know why I'm like this, right?"
You stand there, and you think you should say something,
but your brain is a mess of tangled thoughts
and you're not sure whatever comes out would make sense...
He lowers his face,
and takes one,
two,
three
steps
forward,
into your space,
his chest a few inches from your lips.
"You know why I'm like this about you, right?"
He breathes out, his voice quiet and low.
His hand trails up your neck, his palm whispering through your hair,
twirling a single strand of your hair around his index finger.
He tilts his head thoughtfully.
"You don't mind, do you?"
"I... you... I..." you stammer, your breath caught in a nervous hiccup.
He chuckles,
low in his throat.
"Baby, talk to me."
Your reply is a sound that sounds like "kemn-"
"I mean, if we're a little... possessive of each other... that's okay, right?"
He tilts his head.
You try to say something, anything.
"I mean... if I were to... do this,"
he strokes your cheek softly,
"with some other girl... you wouldn't like that, would you?"
You shake your head.
"And this? What about this?"
He leans down, tilts your chin up,
brushing his lips over your jaw.
"Could I do this, with some other girl?"
"N-no," you whisper, your face on fire.
Jungkook smirks,
pressing his mouth along your jaw,
stopping to whisper just below your ear.
"Good girl."
Seokjin chokes on his rice.
