"Are you always glued to your work?" Jungkook leans on the door frame, yawning.
You jolt, staring up at him.
Then you look down at the clock on your screen.
"Jungkook, you're up so early. It's only 7:05, you can go back to sleep for a bit more."
He shrugs.
"You were working late last night and now first thing in the morning. Do you not need sleep?"
You scoff.
"Look who's talking."
"I'm serious," he shuffles into the room,
looking at your bed suspiciously,
as though trying to gauge whether it had been slept in.
"Hey, how are you feeling? Was it hard to sleep on the sofa?"
You hit save on your files and close the screen.
"It's fine. I sleep on sofas all the time backstage. We even sleep on floors sometimes."
He lets his eyes linger unhappily over Yoongi's photocard on your nightstand.
You kick yourself for not putting it away.
"Hey, since we're both up, how about we get ourselves ready and go grab breakfast?"
Jungkook immediately perks up at the suggestion.
-----------------
"So he spent the night at your place?"
The look on Taehyung's face was sheerly loquacious.
He wriggles his eyebrows as he jumps onto the couch beside you,
upsetting all your papers.
"We didn't do anything, Tae. We just, we just... chatted," you hush him, putting a hand out in front of his mouth.
You look around, worried that someone would walk by the tea room.
You are spending the morning at Bighit, waiting for Jungkook to break for lunch from his studio work.
"Chatted? Only chatted?"
Taehyung rolls his eyes.
You pull two pages of papers out from under Taehyung's butt.
They are thoroughly wrinkled, and you glare at him.
"Jungkook slept on the sofa."
"Not again!" Taehyung whines.
He goes limp, flinging his arms out and dropping his head back.
"Agai- well, what did you think was going to happen?"
He grins, shaking his head.
"You know."
"Oh my god, Kim Taehyung. Get your head out of the gutters. I can't believe you want to think about your brother that way."
You pinch him on his arm to punish him.
He joins you, pinching himself to make an elephant with the moles on his forearm.
You grin, but his expression grows serious.
"Are you two going to be okay?" he asks.
You jerk your eyes to him, struck by the abrupt turn of the conversation.
"I... I don't know, Tae."
"Jungkook is... forgetting things, right?"
Once again you hit save on your computer files and give up on working.

You shut the laptop lid and put it aside.
"You know we have a Forgettable bond, right?"
Taehyung nods.
"It means I have this reoccurring dream where Jungkook is there.
Unless I figure out how to reach for his hand in the dream, he'll keep forgetting.
But... the thing is, I can't move in the dream, I can't remember anything in the dream."
You put your head into your hands.
Taehyung pets your head soothingly.
He runs his fingers through your hair, and it has a similar feel to when he pets Yeontan.
"But I mean, you want to, right? You want Jungkookie to remember you?"
You sigh.
"I don't know. The guy we went to see, the soulmate expert...
He said Forgettable bonds are really painful to have. That sometimes people would rather forget."
"But you and Jungkook are not just other 'people'," interrupts the cutting voice of Min Yoongi.
He stands by the entry as you and Taehyung both jump.
Yoongi frowns.
"Ya Taehyung, what are you doing with your hand in her hair?
Jungkook is going to flip out again if he sees it."
Taehyung shrugs.
"I'm just making her feel better. Jungkookie is too jealous."
"It doesn't matter if he's too anything.
You watch yourself," Yoongi says with a tilt of his head.
You untangle Taehyung's fingers from your hair, patting his hand as you put it back in his lap.
Yoongi strides into the room, heading for the coffee behind the counter.
"Is Jungkook recording vocals?" he asks the room, at no one and anyone in particular.
Taehyung is still huffing at his treatment,
so you answer.
"I think so."
Yoongi pours himself a coffee and leaves without a backward glance.
He does however, drawl as he vanishes,
"Whatever you choose, make sure it's what you and Jungkook really want."
You stare after him,
processing his words.
The responsibility and dread of it all hits you again.
You slump with the weight.
"Hey, it's going to be okay," Taehyung nudges you with his shoulder.
"Is it? Are you sure?" you groan back, covering your face.
Taehyung sighs.
"Look, sometimes...
Even if you don't know what you want,
when the time comes, you'll do the right thing.
You'll make the right choice. It's just instinct.
Your heart will know what you want.
Even if you don't know it yet."
You peer out from between your fingers.
"That sounds like procrastination to me," you whisper.
"Yeah, sometimes it doesn't work."
Taehyung laughs.
You roll your eyes at him.
"But sometimes it works," he insists.
"Speaking of work, please let me work," you sigh.
"Shouldn't you be working too? Where are you supposed to be right now?"
"Anywhere. But I'm supposed to be memorizing some lines for a song," he straightens like he had forgotten about the whole thing.

He wrestles a folded lump of paper out from his pocket,
Which turns out to be an entire A4 size sheet, filled with words.
It's shamefully crinkled as he flattens it out against his leg, trying to read it.
"Then please do that," you try to keep the judging tone to a minimum.
You reach for your laptop,
Determined to make some progress with your report.
Taehyung leans over the instant you unlock your screen.
"Is it the same one from the other day? Can I read what else you wrote? I liked it," he croons.
The flattery surprised you.
"Really? I didn't think you would."
"It's interesting because you write it kind of artistic," he says.
He taps his finger on the touchpad, scrolling to where he last read it.
You can't help feeling happy he was interested.
After all, you took pride in your work.
"This piece is important. It's going to be presented at a convention, so I have to get it right," you tell him.
"At a convention?" he turns to look at you.
"I'm so proud of you," he grins.
And suddenly you feel like you were in elementary school again,
the boy with a bright, square smile sitting across from you,
the warmth of his genuine personality touching your heart.
"Taehyung-ah, you're so sweet," you smile.
"Show me the final copy when you're done, okay? I want to read it," he points to his own chest.
"I would be honored," you smile.
----------------
You're a little shocked as you hear a crowd of voices approaching,
because you recognize the deep timbre of Namjoon's voice
and the wild child
husky
HAH-HAH-HAH laugh that Jungkook does from his throat
when he's having too much fun.
You check the time.
It's already past 1 PM.
The guys come into view
and you can see Jungkook holding a permanent marker,
chasing after Jin, who is trying to dodge him,
but based on all the black lines already on his back and sleeves,
he doesn't seem successful.
"They said to draw one thing on our shirts, why are you drawing so many things?"
Jin yells,
ducking behind Hoseok,
who then becomes the innocent victim,
as Jungkook's hand dashes out and the marker swipes against Hoseok's arm instead.
"YA! Stop that right now!" Hoseok shouts,
his brows drawn together.
He backs away, trying to merge himself into the wall,
holding out his hands defensively
as the maknae shoves him aside
and grips Jin's shoulder.
"Help! Help me!" Jin yells,
reaching out for Namjoon,
who is grinning and walking away.
Jungkook laughs again,
pinning down Jin who is struggling madly.
"Stop struggling or else I will draw something really messy!
Just stop struggling and I will draw something nice," Jungkook bargains.
"I don't trust you! You already drew windshield wipers!!"
Jin kicks Jungkook in the shin, trying to make an escape.
Jungkook sidesteps easily, still laughing.
"Hey," Namjoon waves at you as he notices you sitting there with Taehyung.
You wave back, busy wondering if you should be concerned for Jin.
"Ah, Taehyung, so you came here to hang out with her.
I thought you would go to an empty meeting room to memorize your lines,"
Namjoon says, as he heads straight for the coffee.
Jungkook turns at Namjoon's words, brightening as he sees you.
He absentmindedly straightens and lets Jin escape.
Jin raises his arms in victory as he runs down the hallway.
"I'm freeeeee!!!"
Jungkook smiles at you.
"Let me have some coffee and then we'll go have lunch?"
You nod and grin,
pointing at Jin who is disappearing down the hall.
"Getting into mischief again?"
Jungkook winks.
"Maybe, but I'm never in as much mischief
as I am when I'm with you."
You blush.
"Wha- what, we don't get into mischief, we never..."
"," Jungkook smirks,
as he walks past you to get a coffee.
You think you probably look exactly like a tomato right now.
Namjoon sighs into his coffee cup.
"Why do I have to listen to this," he mutters.
Jungkook chuckles,
shouldering him away from the coffee machine.
"Please let us leave before you say anything else," Hoseok shakes his head.
"Come on Namjoon let's go."
Taehyung looks up sharply.
"Am I going with you guys or am I having lunch with them?"
""
Namjoon and Hoseok say in sync.
Jungkook grins as he sips his coffee,
raising an eyebrow at his hyungs as they leave.
To your surprise,
the smile falls from his lips the moment they are gone.
He exhales slowly, turning to you.
"We have to talk about our bond.
Earlier, I kind of forgot that I was at your place last night.
Until Jimin hyung mentioned it.
We have to talk about this, work it out."
You gulp.
"You... forgot?"
"Only briefly, but yes.
Look, I don't want to forget this stuff, you have to help me."
Jungkook crushes the disposable cup in his hand
as he strides across the room
and slides a finger under your chin
tilting your face up to him.
"Please don't let me forget."
