Thank you all for waiting so patiently.
I posted story first when I got back from my trip.
I love you all so much for being so sweet to me.
Grateful always.
-------------------------------------------------------------
Curled up on the bench, you look around the courtyard, resting your chin on your knees.
Why is it that you always lost your mind when it came to Jungkook?
Sure, the bond is supposed to make you want to Heal with him...
But every time he smiled, or laughed, or tossed his head, you felt your heart beat skip for him.
Every time he looked at you... his eyes seem to reach into your chest and pin you down, so that you can't focus on anything but his gaze.
This guy was constantly messing with your heart and your brains.
You hoped it wasn't unhealthy how much you cared about everything he did.
Who are you kidding, the voice in the back of your mind scoffed.
You know you're obsessed.
The red tinge of energy was still ebbing in your Soulmate Bruise hand.
It felt strange...
Pent up.
It happened the last time you were upset at Mira too.
You've scoured the internet for bond effects like this but found nothing.
Great, you were weird even after you bonded with a soulmate.
You glance at your phone.
If you were calling this your break, then it is almost time to go back.
Sighing, you head back into the Bighit building, a mess of Jungkook, Jungkook, Jungkook in your head.
Maybe it was because of that.
It was definitely because of that.
The quiet whizz of the wheels should have alerted you, but...
You were still thinking about how embarrassed Jungkook had looked when he woke up, blushing as he let go of your waist and you sprang apart...
You turn the corner around the building without even looking up...
And a bicycle and a man on it were already on top of you.
Surprise thrown onto both your faces as he veers his handle bar violently to avoid you...
But it's too late.
You were too close.
The front wheel crashes into your shin.
The man and his bike both topple and fall on you as you crumple.
You throw your hands out, crying out in pain as you fall.
The fear ran down your back.
You know because you feel it.
Your hand was unbelievably hot, and then it was gone.
And then you were weak and in a world of hurt.
The other guy yells, shoving himself off the bike, pushing it away off of you, trying to help you...

He's limping as he reaches down for you, asking if you are okay, but it all sounds muffled, all sounds like echoes.
You heard your skull tap the ground with a sickening .
Your elbows are definitely messed up.
Sharp pain is everywhere.
You're dizzy and everything looks fuzzy.
God, it all hurt.
It's so much easier to just close your eyes...
The guy's shouting fades away.
It literally hit him mid-step.
It was like someone had him forward.
Jungkook's foot misses where it was supposed to land, and he stumbles three off-balance steps...
into the mirror in front of him.
Everyone breaks choreography in sheer shock.
"Jungkook!" J-hope calls.
Jimin is here first, grabbing Jungkook's forearm and trying to look at him.
No one falls that way.
not Jungkook.
Taehyung is touching Jungkook's head, asking something.
Jungkook can see RM frown.
Everyone is crowding him.
The choreographer is shouting for ice.
But nothing is processing.
Jungkook can't move.
Everything sounds like he's got water in his ears.
Jungkook knows he's dazed.
Not from colliding with the mirror, but from something else.
Everything is red.
He tries to push it away, but the harder he pushes, the more the air around him presses down on him.
He can't fight it.
He can't move.
He can barely breathe.
Jungkook fights for breath, fights...
And finally,
finally,
as he can't breathe and gets utterly weak...
He lets it wash over him.
It seeps into his skin, shooting up his arms into his chest.
It's hot and it hurts.
Jungkook hears something that he shouldn't be hearing.
It's his soulmate's voice, he would know it anywhere.
Jungkook's shins tingle with numbness.
And then his elbows.
And then the right side of his head.
And then clear like a pulse.
The red in his chest him, and on something in the distance.
And then it lets go of him.
Jungkook lifts his arms weakly and pushes Taehyung and Jin's concerned faces out of the way.
He's panting for breath and swaying on his feet but it has let go of him.
--
He crashes into the emergency exit door, throwing his entire weight against it as it opens into the outside.
He leaves the alarm blaring behind him.
Taehyung and someone else is following him,
shouting in confusion at him...
but Jungkook doesn't slow down, doesn't explain.
He's running, looking around madly, searching...
the hook in his chest is pulling him.
It's a vague, but demanding pull.
He doesn't know what exactly, but he knows he needs to go.
He turns a sharp corner, and
There, five people are in a small circle on the walkway.

Someone is on their phone.
And Jungkook's heart is sinking with dread as he skids into them,
not caring when he forces his body through the gaps
and pushes people away...
He knows before he sees her that it's her.
He's crouching down protectively, using his shoulders and the bulk of his body to shut everyone else out.
He's putting his arm under her shoulders to lift her into his chest, scooping her up into him...
Turning her head, checking the right side of her head.
Blood.
Blood in her hair, on her temple.
He knows then that her elbows and shins would be bloody too.
The person on the phone is calling the ambulance.
He knows that.
He tries not to shout at anyone.
But he sees the scraped up bicycle lying a few feet away and he how a bike would hurt her so badly.
The man with a bike helmet is frantic, and Jungkook zeros in on him.
"You hit her with your bike?"
Jungkook has no control over the snarl that comes out of him.
The man looks genuinely upset.
"Yes, I shouldn't have been going so fast. But something is wrong with her... She like... didn't move,. She was just rigid, she fell over straight like she was....
Frozen stiff.... like... something is wrong with her."
Jungkook knows, though.
The red made him unable to move too.
Jungkook starts to shake.
His hand, trembling, pushes away her blood-soaked hair, trying to check her head wound.
But it's a mess of blood running everywhere and he can't see anything.
A sheet of blood is down her right side, down her face, down her neck... soaking through her shirt collar.
, he repeats to himself, .
He buries his face into her shoulder, trying to quell the fear that was shaking through him.
A hand.
A hand pressing down hard on his shoulder.
"Jungkook," a deep voice booms above him.
It's Namjoon.
Namjoon is here.
Namjoon is here.
Everything is going to be okay.
He would fix everything.
He always has.
Jungkook looks up, and because his vision is blurry, he wonders what is wrong with his eyes.
Something warm skids down his cheeks.
"Hyung," he tries to say, but whatever came out was a rasp that he couldn't decipher.
Jungkook twists his body, turning the girl in his arms like an offering
holding her out toward his hyung,
his leader,
the one who always knew what to do...
the one who would surely fix this...
"," Jungkook pleads again.
His voice is still broken.
But if Namjoon just looked, surely he could help,
surely he would see the horror that Jungkook was feeling.
Surely anyone would see the horror Jungkook was shaking with,
and if it was Namjoon he would just know.
He would look at his maknae, he would know that if this wasn't fixed, Jungkook would never light up again.
Namjoon's eyes widen as he sees who is in Jungkook's arms.
He falls to his knees, his large hand flicking the wet, bloody strands of hair away from Jungkook's soulmate.
His fingers reach into her scalp, and he's frowning.
"Where is our first aid guy? Any one of them," Namjoon is turning and gesturing at Jin, who arrives panting right behind him.
"I don't have my phone," Jin says, "I'll go get someone."
And he takes off at a run again.
"Head injuries bleed, because there's lots of vessels, but it doesn't mean it's serious, Jungkook," Namjoon says.
"She, she fell, didn't... she didn't... couldn't..." Jungkook chokes.
"She couldn't break her fall," the guy with the bike says.
He's shaking too.
"She fell like she was paralyzed, landed straight onto her elbows and head."
Namjoon's eyes immediately clear.
"Exactly what happened to you, up there, Jungkook? You didn't move at all."
He hooks his thumb upward toward the direction of the dance studio.
Jungkook nods, squeezing his eyes closed.
"That's not good," Namjoon mutters under his breath.
Yoongi is coming to a stop behind Namjoon, breathing heavy, poking his head into the circle.
He eyes narrow as he takes in the situation.
Yoongi grabs Jungkook's trembling hand and presses it to his soulmate's head.
"," he snaps at Jungkook.
Jungkook's mind blanks.
Of course.
Why wasn't he healing her?
Why hadn't he been healing her?
Yoongi crouches and pushes up her sleeves, exposing raw, bloody elbows but bare skin.
Bare skin, and Yoongi takes her limp, exposed arms and drapes them over Jungkook's bare arms.
Jungkook lifts her tighter into him, pressing his face against hers.
He's Healing.
He knows he is, the golden warmth is there, but his panic and fear are too great.
Jungkook shuts everything else out.
He focuses on it,
urging it,
begging it
to work faster,
to work harder,
to please do something more than usual.
The sirens of the ambulance ring in the distance.
"Please, stay with me..." Jungkook whispers.
"Not for the bond,
Not for the healing,
,
Just because I want you to.
Please stay, and ."
