《GCSE Descriptive Writing》The Suspense

A super quick excercise I did at school in which we had to write a captivating opener for a murder/crime novel:

The most striking thing about Diana was her skin.

Most people's first impressions of someone include noticing the light of their eyes, or the contagion of their smile — but most people would also agree that Diana's skin was staggering.

It was creased in every possible place, lined and wrinkled like crumpled paper. It was a trophy of her age: she had just turned ninety-seven. Maybe that's what made her death so far from suspicious.

Maybe that's what made her so easy to overpower.

So I'm back! With a pretty anti-climatic return I'll admit. I've been pretty swamped with coursework these last months but I wanted to add some more writing excercises that I found from GCSEs. I'm going to try and publish more exam/writing tips within the next week and maybe some new pieces too. Hope you all enjoy, don't forget to vote :)
