《Unexpected》[22] - parking lot

Ring! Ring!
The school bell rang, indicating that it was now time for lunch.
Willow missed Maxwell. She hadn't seen him in almost a few weeks because he was so busy. However, they always texted, sometimes even called or FaceTimed when they had the time.
Walking towards her lunch table, she pulled out her lunch out of her backpack.
Oliver had made her a couple of sandwiches, which consisted of cucumbers and dill spreading. It may sound gross, but it was pretty good. It was something that their mother made for them when they were kids.
Just as she sat down at her lunch table with Violet, she noticed Everett and his friends walking towards their table, and sat down.
"What are you guys doing here?" Violet asked annoyed.
"What? We can't sit here?" Mason replied.
"What do you want?" This time Isaac spoke, and he was irritated.
"We just wanted to catch up like old times. We used to be so close." Dylan said. "Yeah used to be and it should stay that way."
Ignoring Violet, the five boys, Jonathan, James, Dylan, Mason, and Everett, all brought their attention to Willow, but she was too occupied with her phone to realize.
Hey baby.
Hey. Aren't you supposed to be at work?
Yeah, why? I can't text my girl?
His girl, Willow thought as her cheeks reddened.
You know I didn't mean it like that...
I know baby, I'm just messing with you. I miss you.
I miss you too, but you're always busy :(
I know, but I'm picking you up from school today, okay? I have to go, but I'll see you later. Bye baby. Don't miss me too much :)
Bye Max, and no promises :)
By now Willow was blushing like crazy, which didn't go unnoticed by the table. They knew Willow had moved on, but Everett never told them who the guy was.
Isaac and Violet smirked. They knew it was Maxwell. Willow had mentioned him a few times, but they were aware that she didn't like talking about it. It wasn't because she was embarrassed of Maxwell or didn't trust her two friends, she just liked to keep things between her and Maxwell, and her friends understood. That didn't mean she had to keep them in the dark, so she did tell them about him. At first they were skeptical because it was Maxwell that they were talking about, but they knew that Maxwell treated her well from how she seemed a lot happier and from what she would tell them.

"What's gotten you all flustered Willow?" Dylan asked with his eyebrow raised. "Oh. N-nothing." Willow said as she diverted her eyes somewhere else.
Violet and Isaac knew she didn't want to talk about it, so they changed the topic.
"What do you guys want?" Violet asked, her patience was running thin.
Willow gave her a thankful look for changing the topic.
"We wanted to-" James started. "-Apologize to Willow." Jonathan finished.
Bringing their attention back to Willow, they said, "We're so sorry Willow. Please forgive us, it was wrong of us, and we know that. We miss you, and we want you back in our lives. We want to be your friends again." Mason said with pleading eyes.
"Oh um- I- I don't know." Willow said, she was caught by surprise. Never in a million years had she expected them to apologize. However, she didn't want them living in guilt.
"I forgive you, but I don't know... I need time to think about it."
"Take as much time as you need Willow. Thank you so much for forgiving us." The boys felt relieved, but a bit disappointed. They really wanted to be friends with her again. Even Everett. He knew he couldn't have her, but that didn't mean he couldn't have her as a friend. He realized that being friends with her would be better than to not have her in his life.
A few seconds later, the bell rang, and they all went their separate ways.
During class, Willow couldn't help, but feel giddy and excited. She was finally going to see Maxwell today! Her leg was bouncing up and down from anticipation. She couldn't help it.
Time went by fast yet slow for Willow as she was excited and impatient to see Maxwell. Nonetheless, school was finally over.
Willow quickly walked to her locker, grabbing everything she needed before rushing out the double doors. In the parking lot, she noticed Maxwell from a distance, he looked angry. He was on the phone. She also noticed the five boys standing next to their car, talking.
She made her way to Maxwell. "What do you mean you don't know? Are you fucking dumb? What the hell is wrong with you. Fix the fucking problem since you caused it in the first place." Maxwell said as he gritted his teeth — he was fuming with anger.

The boys did notice Willow walking towards Maxwell, but they all, except Everett, thought they were overthinking. They were quite curious as to why Maxwell was at their school. Maxwell had graduated almost two years ago.
Noticing his girl come over to him, he hung up the phone.
"Hi." Willow said softly, not wanting to upset Maxwell. "Hey baby." Maxwell said as he calmed down.
The boys were shocked. They didn't expect Willow to be with Maxwell. They didn't even expect Maxwell to be soft. He didn't peg them as the type to be kind. However, they didn't fail to notice how he calmed down once he saw Willow.
"Are you okay?" Willow asked.
"Yes I am, just complications at work. I promise I'm okay. Now come give me a hug." Maxwell opened his arms and Willow quickly hugged him.
"I missed you Max." Willow said looking at him with her big brown eyes. "I missed you too, but don't worry, I'm all yours for today." He said as he kissed her head.
"You wore the dress I got you." Maxwell said as he smiled. He had bought Willow a dress, it was baby blue, and stopped just above her knees. It wasn't one of those tight dresses. It was flowy and simple. The dress had spaghetti straps with little white dots everywhere. She covered her shoulders by wearing a leather jacket because of school dress code.
"Twirl for me baby." Maxwell raised Willow's arms and twirled her around. "You look so beautiful." Willow immediately blushed and looked down at the floor.
Maxwell placed two fingers under her chin and lifted her head up to meet his eyes.
"You never gave me a kiss." Maxwell said as he pouted.
Willow immediately kissed him, which he happily responded back. His hands traveled from her waist to under her dress and caressed her butt, Willow couldn't help, but moan into the kiss.
Pulling away for air, she hid her face in his neck, getting a whiff of his scent. He smelled expensive and deliciously masculine. Willow could smell him all day and not get tired. He smelled of expensive cologne, but it wasn't one of those overbearing ones that gave you headaches. His was quite calming.
After a few minutes, Willow remembered something.
"So... Your girl huh?" Willow said with a smile.
"Yes, my girl. Is there a problem?" Maxwell asked with his eyebrow raised. "N-no, I just- I don't recall you asking." Willow said with a blush.
"Well in that case, will you be my girlfriend Willow West?"
"Yes, I'll be your girlfriend Maxwell Moreno." She said with a smile on her face.
Maxwell couldn't help, but smile. "My beautiful girlfriend." He said, brushing her hair out of her face.
"My handsome boyfriend." Willow smiled as she bit her lip.
Maxwell cupped her cheeks, and kissed her, catching her off guard. "What was that for? Not that I mind."
"Those boys are staring at you, so I needed to show them that you're mine. I mean, you're so beautiful baby, you're always attracting attention everywhere you go." He replied, kissing her nose.
"Are you hungry? I got you food." He handed her a bag of Wendy's. "Your drink is in the car."
"Thank you. Did you eat yet? Are you hungry?"
"I am, but not for food." Maxwell smirked.
"Behave. We are still in the school's parking lot." Willow was now as red as a tomato.
"I'm sorry. I will behave. Let's go, you first M'lady." Maxwell opened the door, and bowed as he gestured her to get in.
"Why thank you, kind sir." Willow quickly got in, and immediately started eating while Maxwell was driving.
