《Unexpected》[10] - regrets

The letter that Willow received a week ago, shook her up. She was constantly watching where she was going.

She wasn't planning on telling Oliver, but he saw the letter in her backpack, slip out.

"What is this Willow?" Oliver asked with the letter in his hands. Willow had just arrived home, she stuffed the letter somewhere in her backpack, but somehow it must have slipped out.

"I don't know." His sister wasn't lying. She really had no idea what that letter was. She didn't want to tell her brother because he had enough things to worry about. She didn't want to worry him with her problems.

"Is this the first time you've received this, or are there more? Be honest."

"This is the first time. It fell out of my locker." Willow knew better than to lie, plus she could never lie to her brother. They were always honest with each other, so why start lying now?

"Are you sure?"

"Yes. Who do you think it could be?" Willow had a feeling Oliver knew, but didn't want to tell her. However, she understood that he probably had his reasons for not wanting to explain to Willow what was going on, and why she was wrapped around this.

"Don't worry about it Willow. I'll figure this out." Oliver obviously felt guilty for not telling his sister, but he didn't want her to stress out about this. He wanted her to live her life without having to look over her shoulder, or even worry about this kind of thing.

"From now on, please start taking your car to work. I understand you don't want to waste petrol and money, but please take your car to work. You can walk to and from school because it's still day. I know you get out of work late, and the sun is starting to set earlier, so start driving to work from now on." In this case, Willow agreed. If taking her car to and from work will help Oliver feel better, then she was going to obey. She hated the fact that she worried Oliver, so she agreed if it'll help him sleep better at night.

So this led to where Willow was now, in her car, on the way to work.

Ever since the whole letter incident, Oliver would constantly watch her, making sure she's safe. He even had a few of his bodyguards from The Oasis watch over his sister.

Willow knew that Oliver was just taking precautions, so she understood, but it was a little creepy at first, knowing that there were people watching her. After a while, she learned to get used to it.

James and Jonathan, the twins in Everett's group, had a plan. A plan to prove that Willow was innocent.

They told quickly told Mason and Dylan.

First, they wanted to make it up to Willow.

Everyday. They regretted it every single day. They regretted not sticking up for her. She was always there for them when they were at their lowest, but of course, them being the idiots they were, couldn't even defend her name when their friend was talking bad about her.

The regretted letting her walk away from them. Lastly, they regretted not being the friend she needed.

Willow had done countless of selfless acts out of kindness towards the group. She never asked for anything in return, yet when she needed them the most, they turned their backs on her.

It pained them knowing what they did. If they were giving a second chance to do everything differently, they would do it in a heartbeat, but that's not how life worked.

No matter what they did, they knew that they had messed up.

They were a mess without her. It wasn't the same. As cliché as it sounds, she was the glue that kept them all together. Yes, they had known each other before Willow came into the picture, but it wasn't the same without her. They were a wreck, but they would never admit it out loud, let alone show that they were miserable.

Life became dull, almost meaningless.

They knew Willow was better off without them. After all, they did betray her. Why would she want the people who had hurt her back in her life? She deserved better.

Willow never knew the affect she had on them. Even a small smile from her could make them happy. Just seeing the lovely girl laugh and be happy, brought a smile to their faces.

They never had romantic feelings for Willow, but they all loved her as if she was their own family.

Back to the plan.

The plan was simple. They would talk to one of Marissa's friends, or "minions" as one would call them, to confess. They knew her so called friends were not so good at keeping secrets. They were always talking about everything and anything.

The boys would try to get one of them to ramble on and on, until eventually, they slipped up and accidentally reveal the truth.

The plan was great, but the only problem was talking to them. They could barely handle Marissa without wanting to pull their ears off, so they could only imagine if her minions were worse.

They weren't sure when they would actually act upon the plan. Everything was settled, all they could do is hope that it goes accordingly.

Before they were going to take action, they wanted to apologize to Willow, which wasn't going to be easy.

Although Willow wasn't one to hold grudges and she was quite patient, they knew that she would probably be overwhelmed, overthinking, or even uncomfortable with the four of them trying to apologize and come back into her life. Guessing from what they knew about her, it was probably going to be all three.
