《Unexpected》[3] - amusement park

It was a wonderful Saturday afternoon. Willow and Oliver had decided to go to the amusement park, well it was more of Willow third-wheeling with her brother and his girlfriend, Diane. Oliver and Diane went on their way to do whatever, while Willow was walking around the amusement park.

They have been there since 2 in the afternoon. It was now 8 p.m. The whole evening consisted of Willow going on rides, as well as eating. Although she wished she was able to bring Violet, that didn't stop her from having fun. She hadn't seen Oliver and Diane since they both parted ways. However, it was almost time for them to leave. Oliver had texted her to meet them at the car in about thirty minutes. Although it was a Saturday, Willow had to finish her homework, while Oliver and Diane decided to go on a fancy dinner date.

Willow was walking around the park, enjoying the sunset. It was mid October, so it was quite chilly outside, and it was almost time for the sun to set. The sunset was as if fresh colours brushed upon a blank canvas, the orange-yellow hues stretched far and near. Colors of fire and tangerines. It was the promise of the rising sun that comes after the velvety night.

Willow was so preoccupied admiring the beautiful sunset in front of her that she didn't register the body she was about to crash into. However, before her body could collide with the floor, a hand grabbed her wrist. Making sure she didn't fall. She immediately felt a warmth feeling shoot through her arm, along with butterflies in her stomach.

Willow flushed from embarrassment. She looked up to see who the person was and to apologize. When she saw the person that she had managed to crash into, her cheeks had gotten more red. It was Maxwell.

Not just any Maxwell. It was Maxwell Moreno. He's the type of guy that your parents want you to stay away from. She's heard rumors about him, but she's not one to listen to what others say. She couldn't get a good look at him as the sun had already set. However, by the aura and energy he radiated, she could tell he was dangerous and not to be messed with.

Willow made eye contact with Maxwell. She noticed how cold and distant his eyes were, which sent shivers down her spine.

Just as Maxwell was about to say something, her phone rang. It was Oliver. Willow quickly apologized to Maxwell before leaving, answering the call, and heading to the exit to meet up with her brother and his girlfriend.

Hearing Willow's soft voice made Maxwell's heart skip a beat. He thought that he was dreaming as her voice was so angelic. He too felt the sparks when he grabbed her wrist. However, he quickly dismissed it. He didn't want anything to do with relationships and feelings. He didn't even know her, yet she already made him feel things. This made Maxwell shocked. Even his ex girlfriend never made him feel this way, but somehow this girl that he had never met, gave him a feeling of warmth. Nonetheless, he quickly denied it. He was so hell bent on the thought that he was better off alone, better yet, better off with his only best friend, Romeo Russo, that he didn't care. He didn't want any women in his life. In fact, the only woman he cared about was his mother.

Romeo had dragged Maxwell out to the amusement park because he thought that Maxwell needed a break. After a whole week of participating in boxing tournaments, Maxwell was worn out and tired, so Romeo decided to take him to an amusement park to have fun. Maxwell was one of the best boxers in the state, which meant he had many tournaments and matches. His best friend, Romeo, was more of a street racer rather than a boxing type of guy. Though, both supported each other's passions. They were very close to one another. They have been through thick and thin, and Romeo was the only person Maxwell actually trusted and was fond of. He considered Romeo his brother. Romeo had never betrayed Maxwell, and he had never even thought about it.

Willow was home alone. She had finished all her homework. The reason why she wanted to get it done was due to the fact that she would always go to a flower shop to by her mother flowers and spend the rest of the day at the cemetery. She didn't want her mother to feel forgotten, so she always tried to visit as much as she could. Sometimes Oliver would even come with her, but he had a fight tomorrow, so he wasn't able to go. Oliver does visit their mother, but not as much as Willow. He was always busy, so he barely had time for himself or his girlfriend. However, they made their relationship work.

It was now 10:45 p.m. when her phone rang. It was an unknown number. No one ever called at this time, unless it was Oliver and Diane, but she had their numbers saved. Willow picked up the phone to answer the call. She always overthought things. She was worried that maybe someone was trying to reach out to her because they were in danger and needed help, so maybe they were at some pay phone, so she always thought the worse of things.

"Hello?" Willow answered through the phone. However, no one replied. Weird. She thought. She hung up and quickly got ready for bed. She was curious to know who had called her. She didn't recognize the number. She didn't try to call again as she knew that curiously killed the cat. Maybe they entered a wrong digit and ended up calling her by mistake. She didn't press onto the matter.

One thing she didn't know was that soon someone was going to attempt to enter her life. Someone she never even met. The purpose for this person's appearance was rather bad than good.
