《My Brothers' Enemy》37. Amusement Park

Have you ever regretted a decision so much that you started thinking about all parallel universes and what would have happened in different scenarios? Well yeah, I am obviously past this level. I hate my foolish mouth in general, but the despise now was overflooding my senses.
''You know you don't need to overstress it, girl.'' Veronica rolled her eyes as she brushed her small brush against my cheek bone. I don't even know its name for God's sake.
They were twirling in the room like busy bees, making my head thud. We were currently in Veronica's room with her house empty, it was kinda the best option we had. ''I am not overstressing it, rather than wishing I would be dead under the ground now, my dear dear Veronica.'' I coated my words with fake sweetness.
She rolled her eyes again, getting my message and continued stroking my face with her different brushes.
''Well, she has a tanned skin, so I was thinking yellow, but her eyes are green, so black would be a big hit too.'' Abby mumbled, in her hands two tops, both skimpy so it didn't matter whatever I had in my gut to say.
Della turned, eyeing the pieces of cloth, ''Black, but there is another one more disguised.'' they went into the closet to fitch for it.
Nora was on the floor, in front of her a bunch of accessories. She was so focused in her own world that she didn't hear her phone ringing the hell out. ''Answer your phone before I break it for you.'' Veronica screamed, making me flinch. I shot her a glare as Nora stumbled for her phone.
''FOUND IT!'' I heard a shout from inside the closet. I felt my legs strain with bottled anger like I really wanted to scream so bad, but in the same time I was too desperate for that.
''Hello?'' It was Nora. Her voice was soft, and she looked even more lost into her own world now.
''Yeah,...W-we are watching a movie?'' The stuttering was not good. It was probably one of the boys, Carter to be precise. She fiddled with her dress while walking back to slump on the bed. Then, she let out a whole heartedly big laugh. ''No way!'' She chuckled again.
''Carter and Nora are sitting on a tree K-I-S-S-I-N-G, then comes the marriage , then comes the baby, and we all will change diapers daily.'' Veronica sang, loud enough for a flustered Nora to hear. Her face turned an even redder shade, and I couldn't help but laugh.
''Thinking about it, you are really evil.'' I stated to Veronica as a fact.
She smirked, ''Don't I know?''
Della and Abby both got out of the closet after that, their hands holding clothes, ''Okay, so we ditched black. We needed something that is absolutely not her color, or at least something she would never wear.'' Della said, eyeing Veronica seriously as if I was not even there.
''Red is such a good color; however, not her color. Red strapless crop top that is hinged up at the sides, and a black mom jeans, paired with black combat boots. What do you think?'' Abby said, displaying the clothes as if in a commercial. I stayed silent throughout their speech, waiting for their decision because no matter what I say, nothing will go my way today.
''More than perfect honestly. Show lover girl the clothes and make her choose the jewelry.'' She nodded towards Nora, who was still pretty much attached to her phone.

''Are we done yet or what? I can't stay here all day.'' I groaned, stomping my feet on the floor. Veronica pinched my shoulder harshly, making me yelp in a hiss.
''Girl up, will you?'' She bent down, coating my lips with blood like lipstick, and then she added a coat of lip gloss. It actually looked so different, I felt like I was looking at someone else who is absolutely not me. It all felt so refreshing, but also a tad overwhelming.
My eyes looked darker, the forest green pigment of my eyes popping out more than usual as she decided to go all smoky on me. My face was contorted well, giving me more sense of edge by highlighting my cheek bones.
I have to say, she is good, good.
After they were finished with me, it was their time to get ready and obviously they didn't need each other's help to do that, clearly being the pros they are. I ditched them inside the room and decided to get myself something to eat from the kitchen downstairs. I took a turn into the kitchen and grabbed myself some baby carrots and humus. I jumped on the counter top and dug in. Absolutely one of my favorite snacks ever.
We were supposed to be there at around 7 Pm, and now it was 5:55, plenty of time.
I stuck my straightened hair behind my ear as I fetched my ringing phone. Carter.
''Hey boo,'' I greeted in a muffled voice as my mouth was full with carrots. ''How are ya big bro?''
''Hey, my favorite girl ever.'' He said cheekily. I grinned, dipping yet another carrot in humus. ''What are you doing today?'' He asked, and I could tell it was a test.
''Mhm, nothing really, we are watching a movie. I thought you called Nora.'' I played smart.
There was silence before he talked, ''Then why do I not hear any noise?''
''Movie break, what's wrong?'' I smirked, ''If you are wondering around the bush, dude shoot your question already.''
''N-nothing! I was just checking, you know.'' He mumbled, his voice dripping un-certainty.
''Alright, whatever you say, big boy.'' I teased and hung up way too quicker than I intended.
Not moments later, the girls made their appearance, and I have to be honest, I am proud of my babies. Della was in skinny ripped blue jeans and a white crop top with very delicate straps that looked like they would rip with any wrong movement. Abby was wearing a yellow flowy dress, and Oh God was she cute. Nora, the aesthetic queen, was in a soft pink skirt and a jacket, I think it was like a package of some sort, and a white t-shirt with a bunch of golden accessories. Veronica on the other hand, went with a black top that was tied at the back with delicate strings, and a high rise button up jean shorts.
I think we were more than ready.
''Amusement park, baby!'' Abby yelled as we all cheered her on.

Arriving there was not the hard part, but the hard part was me not bailing on them and returning back home, even if it meant a long ass walk. What as I thinking? Coming here and listening to them? I know I shouldn't have told him to bring his date here, I know, but it was a click and the words were already out. Plus, I don't even know who he is bringing, but the place looked huge enough to play hide and seek.

''Okay, there you go,'' Veronica handed us our ear pieces, ''I think all we have to do now is sit and wait until they arrive.''
''It's gonna be a --'' I cut Della off.
''Long day.''
''I was gonna say fun, but whatever, party boober.'' She rolled her eyes at me playfully.
An idea popped in my mind, ''Imagine with me, alright?'' She nodded her head, ''you know Amy? from the cheerleading team?'' She nodded once again, ''So, this girl comes here with Lucas. They are out on a date, both linking their arms together and strolling the place happily.'' My plan was working, ''He offers her cotton candy, better than that, he actually feeds her the cotton candy,'' She was glaring, ''He realizes that her lips are now sugary, so why not take a taste o--''
''SHUT UP, SHUT UP, SHUT UP!''
''Oh man, well this was fun.'' Veronica laughs, clutching her stomach tightly. I smirked her way, happy with my attitude.
''Alright, it's gonna be a long and a hard day. With you.'' Della snarled at me, sending Veronica to yet another fist of laughter.
We walked around, taking a look at the place. It was colorful, neon lights literally everywhere. Arcade games, prizes, a Ferris wheel, it was the definition of a fun night out. We were standing in front of the entrance, waiting for the happy couple to arrive. Twisted meaning of fun, yeah. I hated every single second of it.
''He is here, shit, come on!'' Abby cursed, pushing all of us behind one of the electricity generators. I didn't comprehend what was happening until I actually saw him. In a black t-shirt that clung to him like a second layer of skin, black jeans, and a jean jacket. His hair was in its usual state, messy, good messy, yummy messy. He was on the phone, tapping his foot on the concrete floor, probably waiting for her.
''OH, fucking shit.'' I heard Veronica mumbling under her breath. I followed her line of vision, and got struck by a lightening at the end of it. What was freaking Stella doing here? She was stumbling, her hands working on her heels.
Who wears heels to an amusement park? A koala, obviously.
''If I said sorry now, will you accept it?'' Della turned to me, her eyes showing guilt as if she was the one going out with him.
I looked at her with softened eyes, ''Della, please. You know you don't have anything to do with that, so stop feeling guilty for something you didn't do. Not because she is your sister it's alright for you to take the blame, You two are different persons.'' She nodded here head, apologetically.
''Turn on your pieces, and let the night begin.'' Nora smiled at us, activating her own piece. We all did the same and waited for them to make their first move.
She finally reached to where he was standing, and I noticed how she pushed up her boobs when he was not looking. Does she really think this was gonna work? Noah is a gentleman, and I know that for a fact. I glimpsed Della shaking her head at her sister's doing, but decided not to talk.
Noah looked away from his phone, and for the first time he spared her a glance. It didn't take long before it was broken again when he started moving to get more into the place. ''Come on.'' I whispered, and slowly we all started moving after them.
''I can not believe she did that!'' Della shouted in frustration, ''Even after what happened in the bathroom, she still finds a way to act up.''
''Are you up for a hit later? I mean I know she is your sister and everything, but--'' Veronica got cut off by Della herself.
''Hell yeah, let's just get this over with.'' She clenched her jaw in anger. I felt bad.
''Stop alright? Noah went out with a girl. Not Stella. A girl. It's okay.'' Nora patted Della's back for comfort.
I stayed silent, my eyes taking Noah's every move. I wonder if he was really interested in her, maybe why not? But how could he just flip me off like that? Didn't he feel what I felt, or was it all just some fling. Even though this was the most logical thing to ever think about, my heart did not agree with me even for a second. I felt like there was something else behind, but at the same time I can't promise myself anything.
We were walking at a slow rhythm to keep up with them. Stella was so close to him, enough to smell his masculine cologne, and all I felt was jealousy. This feeling was very foreign to me, because my only other boyfriend was Ethan, and what I felt with him was very surfaced. I wasn't used to think like that, but the feelings I feel with Noah made me realize that I didn't even like Ethan, it was all my imagination. A girl in her first year in high-school, needing a rush and change of routine, but luck wasn't on her side, so it ended in a tragic way.
Stella suddenly held his arm, causing him to look at her in question. She pointed at something in a distance that seemed to have grabbed her attention. He retreated his arm from her grip and followed her to where she wanted to go.
My chest was starting to hurt with heaviness, but I didn't say anything. I wanted to see how far will he go, wishing that it was just a game like what my heart kept whispering to me.
''They are going to one of the booths.'' Abby mumbled from next to me. She kept on holding my arm in a reassuring grip, as if she knew exactly how I was feeling. I nodded at her statement as we continued walking to where they were headed.
''We need to move closer. I want to hear what they are talking about.'' I said as I already started moving closer. They took a turn and I was hot on their heels, following them without a second thought.
''Noah please, play for me, huh!'' She patted her fake eyelashes together, probably thinking this had some effect on him, but when I took a look at his face, he didn't seem that much interested.
He didn't look at her like he looks at me.
''Why can't you play for yourself?'' His voice came out annoyed.
''I-I am not good at this game, and I really want that...'' She looked at the prizes, ''Panda!''
How desperate was she?
He didn't look at her again, instead his eyes were wondering around the place...as if he was looking for someone. A small smile tugged on my lips when he looked at her again and flinched. She held a mirror in between her hands and was applying a heavy coat of lipstick. I bit my lip at his expression and shook my head.
''Oh my God, you are so in love.'' Nora teased, wiggling her eyebrows. I didn't glare, I just flashed her smile because she was damn right.
Stella finished and looked at him again, ''At least let's do something, huh? Do you wanna make out?'' She shifted into seductive mood. Her fingers played with the hem of his t-shirt flimsily, making my jaw tick like a timed bomb.
''No.'' His answer didn't take time and came out easily. Her face fell.
''Why did you bring me here, then? And why are you acting weird? We used to do this shit together all the time.'' She fired, growing irritated.
His phone dinged, a notification being delivered. He tore his eyes away from her, and she scoffed. Upon reading the message his face took a big turn, and a big smile plastered itself on his face instead of the earlier irritation. I felt curious to what was he possibly reading. He typed right away and buried his phone in his pocket once again.
''What do you want to get? That panda?'' W-was he flirting? Because he was freaking smiling!
''Yes?'' She asked, clearly taken back like I am.
''Alright, anything for you.'' He winked and started walking to the games. She smirked to herself evilly, following his steps while I was burning inside.
''Bring me a gun right now.'' I whispered to the girls who were already having weary faces by the looks of it. I needed a release, like hitting someone. Hitting Stella. Yeah, that has to be it.
''Let's divide.'' I said, ''We can't stay together, or it will seem suspicious.'' They nodded their heads. I walked away, being extra cautious with my steps, afraid to commit a wrong move by any means. I took my position a few feet behind them and made sure to activate my ear piece.
The game turned out to be darts that should be thrown at small balloons to get your prize. He took his position once the guy handed him three darts, all ready to strike. His back muscles contracted as he tried his first throw, and my eyes trained at him numbly. The lucky bastard aimed right.
''Yes!'' Stella jumped up enthusiastically, and it's fair to say that some parts of her jumped higher than her. I clenched my fists tightly, not liking the scene in front of me. I felt like this was a sick joke the universe was playing on me, and it was obviously having fun.
He once again aimed for another balloon and got it easily. It was no surprise really, yet every time he gets one, she acts as if it's Christmas.
Dramatic, drama sucker, over dramatic, drama queen, ugh!
I need to chill.
''Emma, you are transferring into the hulk, God!'' Veronica hissed into the piece, not helping the situation at all. I glared at her once I spotted her standing at the corn dog booth. She was eating one. ''What? being a detective needs energy.'' She shrugged from the distance.
''Well you better hope this energy helps you escape me tonight.'' I gritted out and she laughed, seemingly amused by the whole situation.
''Awww! Thank you, Noah!'' Stella chirped happily when he handed her the panda. And then...She went on her tip toes and kissed him on the cheek.
Her lips made contact with his cheek.
Her lips touched his skin.
''Hell will get loose, let me tell ya.'' Nora whispered into piece.
''Stubborn bastard.'' I said to them, madness driving crazily through my body. I felt the adrenaline rush, causing my heart to thump in my ears. If we were in a cartoon right now, I would probably be this guy who has smoke getting out of his ears.
''Our target is moving, y'all.'' Abby spoke timidly.
I watched them closely as Stella clung to his arm like a koala. Seriously, at this point I am not even joking anymore. I started following them, gathering with me the girls. Noah and Stella were talking between themselves, but all I could hear was mumbled whispers, nothing clear. They stopped in front of the Ferris wheel after a bunch of walking around.
''Let's go!'' I exclaimed hurriedly, taking steps closer to Noah and Stella. They were already getting inside one of the cubicles as it was taking turns.
A bunch of people entered and it was our turn. ''Hello mate. We need two cubicles.'' Veronica handed him the tickets quickly. When did she even get those?
The guy took the tickets emotionlessly, opening the door allowing us in. Della, Abby and I entered first, Nora and Veronica took the second one. Not long after, the wheel started moving, and I wasted no time in looking out to see if I can spot Noah. I was right, theirs was on the other side of us, but a little bit under. I sighed out loud when I noticed the distance between them, and that he was back on the phone.
I didn't notice we were already up in the sky until I heard Della whimpering. I turned around to notice the look on her face, and it wasn't one of pleasure at all, if anything it was as if she was about to puke her liver out.
''What's wrong, Della?'' Abby asked, also sensing the eeriness hanging in the air.
''Is there something wrong with you guys up there?'' Nora asked as she could hear what we were saying through her ear piece.
''Della?'' I asked, getting hold of her arm gently.
She looked up, ''I-I think, I am afraid of heights.'' shit.
''It's alright, you don't have to look--'' Abby could not finish her sentence because that was what Della doing exactly. I panicked fearing the reaction terribly.
''Shit!'' Della shouted out loud, making my eyes go wide. ''OH my God, we will die!''
''Della, shut up!'' Abby whisper yelled, but no avail.
''HELP! HELP! SOMEONE HELP!'' Della was having a tantrum.
''Della, it's alright. Look, take a deep breath, alright?'' I turned her body to me as she was already scared of the view. She shook her head vigorously at me.
''I think she is holding her breath, Emma. Oh my God, she is gonna die!'' Abby screamed in my ear, hysterically.
''Not you too, please!'' I was on the verge of losing it.
''E-Emma, I-I sjsbjas...'' Della mumbled under her breath.
''Is my piece broken?'' Veronica asked through the piece.
''No, I think she switched languages.'' Abby said, her hands reaching to grip Della's face. ''Hey Della, look at me. Can you hear me?''
Della's eyes widened, her mouth enlarging like a puffer fish. And then it clicked, she is going to throw up. Abby too realized, and in a second, she took hold of Della's face and pushed it into the air.
''AGGHGHGJGF.'' She puked out of the cubicle.
