I went out to take our dog Bella for a walk. Marlon, Tito and Latoya were in the front of the house. " Hey, Jeni, what happened last night?" asked Tito.

" Yeah, Michael ran home and he looked scared."

" I got in a fight with my Dad last night and he witnessed it. I hope he's okay."

" He's alright, he's out now, wont be back till later."

" Is he going to the Beverly Hills Banquet tonight?"

" Yeah! We ALL are."

" Well, great! Then I can sort things out tonight."

I was so excited for the banquet. I wore my dres that my mother wore once, my father says it was for prom.

Tonight was the night that I had to look really pretty. Dont get me wrong, I like sports and fun outdoor pranks and activities, but once in a while I embrace the girly girl side of me--makeup, shoes, jewelry...that whole thing.

So I wore a sweetheart deep blueberry dress with black high heels and diamond earrings. The banquet was a time to get REALLY dressed up. " Oh, Jeni you look absolutley gorgeous." my auntie said, looking at my dress.

" Thank you, Zola," I tried to get comfy in my black heels since they were a bit painful and I hadnt worn them for a while. I looked at the clock--6:00. " Dad we need to go the banquet starts in a half hour!!!!!"

Michael sat at his table assigned for the banquet. Jennifer was assigned to sit next to him. But she wasnt there. Michael thought Jeni left her forever, and wouldnt come back.

In his hands was a necklace with the words, " Jennifer" on it and a note attached. As minutes passed, he would look down at the necklace......

" She'll be here Michael, I promise." Michael's mother, Katherine, would say.

He then shook his head.

" Hey, Mike, look," Joe pointed towards the door and Michaels heart melted.

There I walked into the building, escaping from the paparazzi cameras outside. The crystal disco ball's shine reflected in my brown eyes which made them stand out. I looked around and I saw Michael from his table, gazing at me. Our eyes locked and I smiled. " Michael?"

" Jennifer!"

He ran up to me and hugged me as tight as he could, lifting me off the ground. I giggled a bit.

" Oh, Jeni.....you look so beautiful tonight."

" You're not mad, are you?" I asked.

" Why would I be mad?"

" Last night, my father and I got intova fight and you witnessed it. When I looked for you, you were gone. I didnt know if that was the end or not. You see, my father didnt want me to date boys when I met you. And...I kinda disobeyed him. But then I guess he realized, I'm seventeen and I should be able to be with you."

" I see,"

" Everything's fine now," I smiled.

My father came through the door. he saw us and walked over.

" Oh! Michael this is my father--Robert Alvarez."

" Nice to meet you, Michael." he shook his hand with a sharp grip.

" Nice to meet you, sir," Michael responded back, so politely, " You have such a beautiful, talented daughter."

He chuckled, " Why, thank you." " So, dad, the seats are over there. Looks like theres two for us."

He kissed my cheek and went to sit down with the Jackson family.

" I have something for you," he said grabbing the present off the table. He looked at me and gave me the cutest smile ever, " Turn around."

he placed a necklace on my neck, I looked down at it; it was long enough for me to see.

" Oh, its so pretty! I've always wanted a necklace with my name on it." There was a poem attached to the back if the chain.

Jennifer,

I love you very much

You are my only true love

You changed my life

You're my best friend, my love

I dream of you at night

When the stars sparkle like your eyes so bright

I'm crazy for you!!! Love, Michael

I was blown away by the letter, and the necklace was very thoughtful. "But...now I feel bad."

" Why?"

" Because I didnt buy you anything! Tell you what? I'll make you-"

" Now hold up Jeni. For once, I'd like you to feel like a woman. I want you to enjoy yourself, enjoy the necklace without worrying about getting me something, okay?"

" Okay..." I nodded.
