I angrilly finished my chores and washed up for bed. I cried for a little bit, I was devistated. But when I climbed into bed, I heard my father and my aunt. " Marc, for god sakes Jennifer is almost sixteen! She likes this boy!"

" You knew about this?"

" Of course I did!" she answered, cleaning the lasagna pan, " She's afraid to talk to you about things like that because she doesn't want you to freak out. And you did."

" I didn't start dating till I was eighteen. She's not even sixteen yet."

" Jeni's in a different generation Marc! You have to give in a little bit. Listen to your daughter, Marc."

It got silent.

" Think about it. Now get to bed."

I layed off the phone as my dad wished. But ever since I've barely talked to him. But can you blame me? I guess maybe you can.....I was relieved when I saw him hosting the grammys with Donny Osmond. When Osmond read the nominees, Michael looked shocked when he heard my name and had my fingers crossed I'd win. I did. I was awarded the, " Young Actress Award"

After giving out my long speech of "thank you"'s, Michael tapped my shoulder. " I need to talk to you backstage." I whispered in his ear, not looking back cause I knew my father would be cautios.

After the grammys, Michael went up to me.

" We need to talk."

" What? What is it?"

" Shhhh! Come with me...." I said as I grabbed his hand and took him into the private backstage department. " I just wanted to say I am so sorry about what happened last night! My dad saw that my phone bill went up from calling you so much...I told him I'd pay for it but he just wouldn't listen. Parents can really be a drag, you know? Anyways, I wasnt able to call you back cause it was late...so what were you gonna tell me?"

" I was gonna tell ya...I want you to be my girl."

And there it was.

" I mean for real, my girl. I really do love you, you know? and you're so very special to me! I'd do anything to make you happy, Jeni. I've never liked a girl, my age as much as I've liked you..."

Still speechless.....my heart was racing.

" So will ya?"

I didnt know what to say. Of course YES i wanted to be his girl, but, what could happen?? My father tells me no boys and the next day the most down to earth boy asked me to be his girlfriend?

Who knows what my father would do if he found out--what if he took away my career? Was it worth finding out?

Why does life have to be difficult?!! " Oh, Michael, you know I would." the words just slipped out of my mouth.

He laughed, smiled and gave me the biggest hug and held on tight.

" Well w-what does it mean for us, Michael?"I've never been with anyone before."

He laughed, " Well gee, I haven't either! I guess it just means I'll just call you my girlfriend and you can call me your boyfriend...and I can hold your little hand and kiss your cheek from time to time...I mean...if thats alright with you."

"Of course it is," I giggled, " Shoot. I have to go though. I'll see you later though right?"

" Wait a minute! You cant celebrate you first grammy?"

" I'm sorry, maybe sometime soon." I planted a kiss on his cheek, "'I'll see you around!"
