《Daredevil: Born Again》Chapter 3: Bar Fight and a Girl

Daredevil was back in town. Fully healed and stronger than ever. He wanted to strike fear into the ones who thought that Daredevil was gone. Crimes were raising high in Hell's Kitchen so he thought he would start with the Irish.
He stood there, looking at a bar that was owned by the Irish. The only ones who weren't Irish in the bar were the ladies who worked as bartenders. Walking down to the bar, he opened the door and smiled. Almost all of the Irish started whispering to each other, the Daredevil was back. He stopped all of the chattering.
"Get the women out. I want to speak with the Irish." Matt smiled, looking at every single Irish. He heard twenty people there. Enough to make a statement.
"What do you want, Daredevil?" An Irish Man asked.
"I want to strike fear in your hearts and leave a message to those who think they can do anything they want now that the Daredevil is gone." Matt grinned and grabbed a beer from a empty table. He started drinking and looking at the Irish Men. "Do you think I'll be leaving here without a fight?"
All of the twenty Irish men ran at him, clubs, batons, cue sticks and all, trying to kill the Daredevil. But Matt wasn't afraid, he came prepared. He punched, kicked, and jumped through the air as he took down Irish men. One by one, they started falling and getting knocked out by Daredevil. This was the first time in a long time that Matt was in his Daredevil costume and it felt good. After a whole brawl, there were five men left standing.
Matt could smell it, two were armed with pistols and the other three were some of the strongest men the Irish could have. But of course Matt did something very dumb. He taunted them, telling them to "come at me" using body language. The two men shot Daredevil in the chest but the bullets ricocheted off his suit.
"Nice upgrade, Melvin." Matt thought, as he threw his Billy Clubs at the men who were armed. The pistols got knocked out of their hands and it was a fist fight.
Matt punched the first one that was trying to get advantage of him while he threw his Billy Clubs. He twisted his arm until his bone got out. The man shouted in pain as more of them started running towards Matt. He dodged two men with knives by using his wrists. When one of them were vulnerable, he grabbed his hand and led it to the other man's stomach. Once he stabbed the other, Matt delivered a quick punch in the neck to knock him out.
Matt looked at the two Irish men left, "You want some?"
"We want to see if you could put up a real fight." The Irish man smiled, running towards him with his partner.

The first one was quicker than the first so he tried to grab Matt first. He had some muscles but the other one was kind of skinny. Matt threw the muscular man out of the way, falling onto a table. Then the skinny one made it interesting. He grabbed two knives out of his pocket and taunted Matt.
They engaged in combat, Matt punched him in the chest first but the skinny one ducked the next attack and stabbed him in the chest. Luckily, he stabbed Matt where the layer was the thickest so the knife didn't touch his skin. Matt threw one of the knife away but the skinny one held on to the other knife. He kicked Matt in the face and he went to the floor.
"Nice one," Matt grinned, spitting out blood, "But you have to try better than that."
The muscular one got up just in time to grab Matt and throw him over the counter. Matt crashed into a couple of bottles which did nothing because of the armor. He quickly got up and jumped over the counter for more fighting. The muscular man missed Matt who ducked and did a running kick to the skinny one, sending him back through a chair. The muscular one punched Matt in the back but he grabbed the knife and stabbed him in the leg. Matt smiled and then knocked him down by swiping his feet. He continuously punched him until he was unconscious.
Matt stood up and smelled the pain he had down, "I hope you boys learned a lesson or two."
Matt quickly exited the bar when he heard sirens in the distance. He jumped to a nearby fire exit and climbed it, smiling when he heard some of the police going out of their doors and arresting the Irish. He stood on the roof and watched from above. He was so busy watching the arrest that he wasn't aware of the things behind him. He then got knocked out by a punch to the head.
Matt didn't know what happened when he woke up, besides being chained to a chair in the middle of a room. There was a laptop, a lot of booze and a girl. He tried to smell but his senses weren't working right now so he spoke instead.
"Where the hell am I?! Why am I chained to this chair?!" Matt demanded
"The real question is, where the hell have you been, Devil Boy?" Jessica replied
Now Matt's senses were working fully, he was in Jessica's apartment. He got knocked out by her and she dragged him all the way to her apartment also known as Alias Investigations. There was a lot of bottles of beer which were all drank by Jessica. Now he started sensing that someone was there a few weeks ago.

"I smell a man here. Latin. Did he sleep with you." Matt asked, grinning at the same time.
Jessica walked over to him and grabbed him by the neck, "You are a freak, Murdock. Stop trying to get in my head."
"Was his name Oscar Arocho?" Matt smiled but got punched by Jessica.
"You stop snooping around my apartment like it's yours and answer my damn question. Where the hell have you been?"
"Church. Healing. I got dragged there by Elektra. How 'bout you? How are you holding up?"
"Better than you a few weeks since you left but these past few days have been hell, Devil Boy." Jessica stood up and sat down on her chair. She placed her feet up on her desk like she usually does and started typing, "Mind if I tell Luke that you're alive?"
"Don't. They're not ready yet." Matt begged
"Whoops. I just sent it, asshole." Jessica scoffed, walking over to the kitchen, "If you are really strong, try to break those chains."
Matt got to work, trying to separate his hands apart so the chains would break. He could smell MaCallan's from the kitchen, a lot of it. Jessica walked over to her office and Matt was free. He was walking happily know and Jessica knew he was going to go for the fridge.
"I have some clothes that my friend has in my closet. Change." Jessica said, finishing a bottle of MaCallan's in a matter of seconds.
While she finished her MaCallan's, Matt stripped and tried to find the right shirt. He ended up with a grey sweater and some jeans. The sweater was oversized but the jeans were alright. He walked over to the kitchen and grabbed a bottle of MaCallan's. Before he could grab it, Jessica grabbed his hand.
"You didn't get my permission. You don't just get stuff out of my fridge." Jessica stated some office rules.
"Well, sorry." Matt closed the fridge and leaned over the counter while Jessica sat on it, "What are you up to, Jones?"
"Jesus. Call me Jess. I'm tired of being called Jones." Jessica said
"Then call me Matt. Because of Devil Boy is not a good nickname for me." Matt smiled when she kept on drinking her MaCallan's, "You're going to leave me some?"
She was halfway through her eleventh bottle of the night when she heard him. She stopped drinking and handed the bottle over to him.
"This is good stuff. I should have this in my apartment." Matt said, looking at the brand. But he looked at it so he found a distraction for Jessica. He could sense that she missed him.
"What the fuck, are you reading my heartbeat?" Jessica asked when he stared at the bottle for too long.
"No, I'm looking at the brand." Matt chuckled but he felt something wrong. He touched his chest and there was blood coming out. The skinny one managed to leave a single scratch on him. He almost collapsed because he almost lost all his blood on his knee. He had been too focused on Jessica.
"What the hell is going on?" Jessica asked when Matt stumbled a bit. Matt showed a open wound on his thigh and he had lost too much blood.
He didn't know he was bleeding because the suit soaks up the blood to hide it. Jessica immediately grabbed a first aid kit under her desk drawer and ran to Matt. She quickly placed a towel over to wound so it could be soaked. She grabbed a sewing kit and some gauze and she got to work. But she applied some alcohol on Matt's thigh first.
"Jesus!" Matt groaned in pain while Jessica chuckled, "Not funny, Jess."
"I didn't know you used the Lord's name in vain." Once she was done applying alcohol, she started sewing the wound.
Matt started to take deep breaths and tried not to focus on the wound. He focused on her breathing, what she was thinking. She was thinking about him too, but it wasn't a distraction. She really thought of him. That he was back and she actually had someone to care about besides Trish and Malcolm. And then she applied gauze to the wound.
"You've been reading my mind," Jessica sighed, "the wound is fine now."
Jessica stood up and placed the first aid kit where it belongs. She returned to the bedroom where Matt was sitting. She made him lay on the bed for him to heal. He couldn't stay in his apartment because he would just injure himself.
"I'll stay in the couch." Jessica told Matt as she grabbed her pillow over Matt but he grabbed her hand.
"Stay, Jess, please." Matt said
"What do you really want, Matt?" Jessica annoyingly asked, sitting down on the bed.
"Don't sleep on the couch. Sleep here, you'll feel better." Matt assured, sitting down as well.
"Fine. But tomorrow you're leaving." Jessica muttered, walking over to her office to strip her black tee shirt and jeans.
When she entered the room, she was only wearing a sleeveless shirt and her underwear. She rolled her eyes when she entered the bedroom. He was looking at her like he had eyesight.
"You're such a pervert." Jessica laid down beside Matt.
"Get some sleep, Jess." Matt faced the opposite side of Jessica, "You haven't slept in two days."
"Freak."

Shades of the Moon
I'm rewriting this story! I have taken down Arc 2 and Arc 3 already to avoid spoiling my new novel. The only reason I'm keeping the first 10 chapters is nostalgia; the writing is awkward and the story is not plotted out properly, but it's here if anyone wants to compare it to the new one. If you'd like to read a more professionally written version of this story, I highly suggest checking out my Synergy. Synopsis version too-many-to-count: “I see,” Kiona said. “But . . . you’re changing once again, aren’t you?” The entity considered her question, lifting a clawed hand towards the night sky. They observed the back of their hand idly, watching the glowing orange veins pulse alongside their pitch-black exoskeleton. The wind picked up right then, and Kiona shivered—just as much from the cold as from the savage grin on the creature's face. “That’s right,” the entity said, clenching their hand slowly into a fist. They let out a quiet laugh, staring defiantly at the Moon as it rose from behind the clouds. “We are shades, yet not exactly. Not like the others. Here, in this world, we've become something more. We are the Shades of the Moon.” There was a heartbeat of silence, during which Kiona joined the entity in their skygazing. The light-green Moon loomed over the city, shining like the entity's eyes. It promised otherworldly knowledge and terrible secrets. It promised progress. It promised change. In that moment, Kiona couldn't have imagined anything more beautiful. “Shades of the Moon, huh?” she said, smiling a bit. It had a nice ring to it.

Fate is such a simple and complicated word. It is also the name of the most popular VRMMORPG. Do what you want, be what you want. Your fate is what you make of it. Their is also wealth and power from Fate Online for those willing to take it and fight for it. For the people fighting from the bottom up, they are willing to do almost anything. Even kill or betray. I learned that the hard way, but when a man losses everything, he can do pretty much anything. Note* I do not own the Pic, I did not create it.
