《You're an Asshole (but a cute one) [Destiel AU]》What an Asshole.

"That'll be $66.06 please." Castiel spoke in a monotone voice over the checkout counter. He placed the last of the items in the plastic bag and nudged it forward so the customer could reach, waiting for her to pay. She smiled gratefully and took the groceries but he did not smile back.
He was bored, annoyed and not in a good mood. He'd woken up, as the expression goes, "on the wrong side of the bed." this morning. He didn't feel like smiling that day and so he didn't. He did his job and endured the few hours left in which he had to put up with in this wretched grocery shop job of his.
A man walked through the door and grabbed a basket from the neatly stacked pile before scanning the room with his eyes, looking over the selection of foods and putting it on the ground. Right next to the pile he'd just pulled it from. It was just sitting there untidily as he walked over to the vegetable section. Cas rolled his eyes, annoyed at this man's laziness, moving from his checkout to place it back on top of the stack.
The supermarket wasn't totally busy, only two checkouts open and three customers roaming around. It wasn't a large supermarket either, more of a corner store but with fresh produce as well as other items. Cas let his eyes follow the lazy man as he picked up almost every single lettuce until he found the right one, getting his fingers all over the non-worthy ones.
Castiel's frustration grew the more he watched the man, the little things he did made Cas want to throw something at the guy's face. It was a pretty face he had to admit, but it was annoying the hell out of him.

He leaned against the counter waiting for a customer to show whilst still watching him, becoming more and more frustrated as time went by. He was roaming the alcohol aisle now, searching for the beer. He looked at the lettuce in his hand before suspiciously looking back over his shoulder, unaware of Castiel's eyes he placed it on the shelf, grabbing a box of beer and walking into the next aisle. Castiel fumed, how hard was it to put things back in their rightful place?
Castiel grabbed the "Sorry, next checkout please." sign from the end of the conveyer belt and set it in view. Walking over to the dark blonde in a flurry he stomped his foot down when he stood beside him, realising the man was much taller than he'd anticipated.
"Excuse me." Castiel said crossing his arms, glaring slightly. "That's not where the lettuce goes, if you could please return it that would be helpful." He huffed, biting his lip in frustration when the man just smiled, walking away. Castiel grew mad. He followed the guy in the leather jacket, tapping his broad shoulder and crossing his arms again.
"I said excuse me, but you've misplaced the lettuce and don't deny it I saw you doing so, this is not a great day for me so please just-"
"How 'bout you put the lettuce away for me and I buy this box of beer eh?" He interrupted, displaying a cocky grin on his face. Castiel frowned, folding his arms tighter across his chest.
"Sir, you can't just leave a lettuce lying in the beer aisle-"
"Well then you better pick it up, sir." He mocked with a wink, walking past Castiel and back to the checkout counter where Cas was supposed to be working.

He had to count to ten in his head before he could regain his cool, picking up the lettuce and returning it to its rightful spot. He strode over to the checkout counter where the man was waiting, beer on the conveyer belt and wallet in hand.
"It does say next checkout you know." Castiel scowled, removing the sign and scanning the box for the rude man.
"I know, but I was hoping you'd scan this for me-" he glanced at his name tag "-Castiel, and maybe we could go for drinks sometime after." The man winked again and Castiel's cheeks turned red as he glared.
"I'm refraining from saying what I really feel as I need this job and prefer not to be fired, so as I can't speak my mind... here's your beer and your receipt." He pulled off the paper and handed it to leather jacket. "And have a nice day." Castiel sarcastically smiled and nodded out the door for him to leave. The guy shook his head slightly smirking, grabbing his box and leaving without a glance behind him.
Castiel frowned as he left, glad he only had one more hour before he was off the clock. That guy really was an asshole. A cute one, but still an asshole.
