《Affection》Chapter 19

'So, I see you've got my parents seal of approval,' Sage says to me, as we walk to my house, with her hand in mine.
'Your mom seemed to like me.' I smirk.
She rolls my eyes. 'She's just been brainwashed by your charms,' I can't hide my smile.
'Oh is that right?' She's leaning against my front door and I place place both arms above her head, caging her in.
'Yep. Once she sees who you really are, she'll run a mile.' She jokes.
'You haven't,' I whisper, leaning in.
'Like I said, brainwashed,' She shrugs. I close my lips over hers, gripping her head with my hands and pin her even closer to the door. I slip my tongue between her soft lips and the kiss is wild and passionate.
'I think we should go inside before your parents see me taking you against the door.' I breathe against her lips.
'Lead the way,' She bites my lip. She's in trouble tonight.
***
I close the door after Sage leaves. 'See this is why I didn't want to go over there.' Angel says.
'What? It was fine.' I say.
'No it wasn't. They started asking questions, they-'
'Of course they asked questions.' I cut in. 'Anyone would want to know why there are two underaged guys living on their own. Especially if one of them is interested in their daughter.'
Angel scoffs while sitting down and he puts his face in his hands. I walk into the living room and sit across from him. 'Angel, all we have to do is carry on blending in and nothing will happen. You just have to keep taking your pills.' I say.
'I will. I don't want to have another black out, not like last time. I don't-'
I interrupt him. 'What happened last time wasn't your fault.'
'You don't know what happened.' He stands up, shouting at me. 'You weren't there. What happened was my fault. She's gone and it's all my fault.' Angel screams as he falls to the floor in tears.
I go down to his level and hug him. 'Listen I'm not going to leave you alone. I'll always be there for you, no matter what.'
Not even Angel knows what really happened and I intend to keep it that way, because the truth would kill him.
***
What are you doing tonight?
It's only been a day since I last saw Kree but I miss him.
Just busy with something
Oh, so are you nothing going to this party tonight?
No.
Hmmm.
Ok. I guess I'll see you another time then.
He doesn't reply to my text but I try not to take it to heart. Like he said, he's busy.
'Shay, are you and Luna grabbing a ride with me to the devil's party?' I shout to Shay, as I walk into her room putting my earrings on. I stop to see Luna sat on Shay's bed.
'Oh Luna hey. Where's Shay? I ask.
She went to the kitchen to get use some snacks. You look hot' Luna stares.
'Oh thanks.' 'She lingers her stare a little on me. 'Well I guess you're not going to the party then,' I say whilst looking at myself in Shay's mirror.
'No we thought that we would stay in and watch a few movies you know given the fact that we don't actually like bitchley.' Luna says with a smile on her face.
I laugh. 'Yeah we don't like her either, but Theia really likes food and Kerrys really likes to party, no matter whose it is. So, you know, gotta be there for my girls.' I say, at the same time Shay walk in the room with her hands full of all different types of snacks.

'You do know your not the only one who lives in this house right?' I say, pointing to the snacks in her hand as I walk out the room.
'Yeah I know but I'm the only one who hungry right now.' Shay shouts back, as I make my way downstairs.
***
Theia and I arrive at the party and we catch a glimpse of Bailey walking past us basically wearing bits of material sewn together. It's her birthday, so whatever.
We decide to go to look for the twins when I see Kree talking to some girl. Hmpf. He told me he was busy tonight. I mean, he can do what he wants, it's none of my business but it's bit strange he didn't mention he was coming here tonight when I told him.
'Oooo I wouldn't have that,' Theia chimes in.
'What?' I bring my attention back to her.
'That! Someone muscling in on my man, or woman.' She shrugs. 'You should put a stop to that ASAP.'
'He's not even mine-' She cuts me off with a look.
'Go talk to him, you're cock-vag blocking me. No one's gonna approach me with you on my arm are they? You're too hot.'
'Girl, literally everyone here knows we'e best friends,' I say confusingly.
'Sssshhh, just go.' She pushes me in Kree's direction at the same time a girl approaches her. 'Hi,' I hear her lazily say.
Come on girl you can do this. Just go up to him and be casual.
Hi, fancy seeing you here.' Yeah, that's not casual, idiot. I stare rigidly at Kree and the girl he's talking to. She's beautiful. Her green eyes, long hair and glowy skin are enough to make any man go weak. Not to mention she's tall. Kree pulls me into him.
'Hey.' She says to me. I look away from his face to hers and see that she is giving me a genuine smile. Damn, I can't even hate her.
Kree starts to talk. 'This is Emilia, we were just talking about basketball - Em plays.' Em? Well how fantastic, she's using those long legs to play basketball. I give her a tight smile. As long as she keeps those legs closed and away from my man, I'm all good.
'Em, this is my friend Sage.' Friend? I step away from his side and look up at him, his eyes closing in slow motion and I catch the moment he realised he'd fucked up. 'Baby-' he starts but I cut of his chance to backtrack.
Composing myself, I start. 'Nice to meet you Emilia. If you'll excuse me, I'm off to get a drink and find some more friends. After all, it is a party right? What's fun without friends.' Kree goes to grab me but I turn and walk away from them to find a drink. Friend friend friendity fucking friends my ass.
'Oooo that was rough,' Theia sure knows how to make me feel better. Not!
'Yeah it was.' I grab the drink out of her hand and down it, feeling it pierce my throat. I go to give her the empty cup but see she has already got another full drink.
***
Thirty minutes and 3- no 4 drinks later, I'm sat on the island in the middle of Bailey's massive kitchen entertaining two guys. To be honest, I have no idea what either of them are saying but I'm laughing at their joke attempts because I'm tipsy. I hear him before I see him and brace myself.

'Oh no, here comes trouble.' I mumble, bring my cup to my lips.
'Fuck off!' He points to the two guys stood in front of me.
'Noooo, stay.' I grab Mark? by his shoulder, making him stay where he is.
'Sage. Don't fucking test me.' He glares at me. Oops I'm in trouble.
'I'm just getting to know my new friends Martin and Blake here. Isn't it great when you make new friends. Friends make the world go round.' At this point Blake walks off, scared of Kree's stare but Martin here stands his ground. He's brave, because the way Kree is looking at us both, even I'm a bit scared.
Kree takes a menacing step forward. 'I won't tell you again.' He stares Martin down. 'Fuck! Off!'
Martin smiles. 'I don't think Sage wants me to leave, do you Sage?' Oh boy. Marty Marty Marty.
I feel like agreeing with Martin and saying yes but when I look back at Kree, his glare is enough to stop my pettiness. For now.
'Martin, you should go.' I mumble. Kree's stares are enough to sober me up.
'Are you sure?' He puts his hand on top of mine which is resting on his shoulder. I pull it back like I've been stung.
'Walk away before I break your fucking nose.' Well that was a bit much from Kree.
Wanting to diffuse the situation, I turn to Martin. 'Yeah. Thanks for keeping me company,' I say quickly, not wanting to piss Kree off anymore than I have.
'Remember, you've got my number.' He winks and then proceeds to walk out and I swear Kree looks like he's about to combust at what Martin said. Luckily, Kree lets him walk past.
I already know I'm in for a shitstorm so of course I don't make things any worse. Ha!
'What?' I shrug.
He cracks his fingers, snaps his neck, looking away briefly and then glares at me, his eyes dark. 'What? WHAT?'
'You said you weren't coming tonight.' I hold my ground because I don't think I'm in the wrong here.
'Who the fuck were they?' He barks.
'Just some friends.' I say nonchalantly.
'Why do you have his number?' He asks.
'Because he said he would take me out sometime, as friends.' I stare him down, knowing how he's going to react.
'You're not going.' He states.
'Excuse me?' Maybe I misheard him.
'You heard.' Nope, he didn't misspeak.
'You can't tell me who I can and can't see.' I huff out stubbornly. I don't particularly want to see Martin again but why should he dictate who I can and can't talk to.
'He just wants to tap that.' He snaps.
'No he doesn't' I roll my eyes. 'Not every guy I talk to wants to get into my pants but it's nice to know you think so little of me.' I voice.
'You know what?' He starts. 'I should go find this Martin asshat and smash his fucking face in for trying to take what's mine.'
'And what's that?' I glare at him.
'Don't be smart.' He pinches his nose in frustration.
'No, tell me.' I jump off the island and walk towards him. 'What in this room is yours? Because if I remember correctly, you introduced me as your friend to Em!' I snap. We're stood directly facing each other.
We're both breathing heavily, when Kree cuts off the silence. 'I shouldn't have called you my friend.' Oh, an apology, I think. I wasn't expecting that.
'Thank you for your apology-'
'I'm wasn't apologising.' Oh.
'I was merely stating a fact.' He continues. 'I don't particularly like it when my girl flirts with other guys.' Huh?
'When did I become your girlfriend?' I ask, once I blink away the shock of him calling me his girl.
'Now!' He grunts out like it's obvious.
'It doesn't work like that!' I shout. As much as I would love to be his girlfriend, this isn't the way to ask me. Sensing this argument is going nowhere, I try to diffuse the situation. 'Maybe we just need some time apart to figure out what we both want out of this-' I feel my knees buckle when he grips the back of my neck and smashes his lips onto mine. My lips take a little longer to catch up to his movements and I moan when he bits down hard on my bottom lip and slips his tongue in. He walks me back until my back hits a hard stop, grabbing my thighs and lifting me up to sit on the island.
I hear crunching coming from the side of us and we stop to look. 'Don't mind me, I'm enjoying the show.' Theia says nonchalantly, eating nachos like this is normal behaviour.
Kree pulls back, shifts his pants and walks out, leaving us both hot, bothered and still very angry.
'Was that my fault?' Theia dares to question.
I glare at her and she retreats with one hand up and the nachos in the other.
***
No matter how many times I try and fix my face in the mirror, I still look angry and turned on. I don't even know why I came here. Kree better stay away from me because I won't be responsible for my actions if he comes my way. After one more attempt, I leave the bathroom and make my way downstairs to the living room and walk into the most unexpected of slanging matches ever.
'...You're embarrassing yourself. Your little Bee probably ran off to get some dick. It's no big deal. GET! OVER! IT!' Wow. Bailey is a nasty piece of work. How could she say that to Bee's mom.
'HOW DARE YOU!' Mrs Lewandowska bellows. 'The way you're talking, I suspect you have something to do with her disappearance. Did you bully her? Was that it? Did you make her life a living hell that she decided to run away? TELL ME!!'
'Nobody cares love. Now PISS OFF! You're running my birthday.' She snaps her fingers, calling her liquórs to kick Bee's mom out.
Bel and Belize seem to have a little more compassion than Bailey, as they gently usher her out, causing Bailey to huff and mutter that her birthday was on the verge of being ruined.
***
'Do you feel better?' Theia approaches me.
'No. I'm still irritated.' I reply back.
'Well if it helps, I just got laid.' Theia says stone faced.
'How does that help me right now?' I shake my head.
'OH MY GOD! Someone call the police.' We hear someone shriek.
Theia and I run towards to the front door and see everyone is huddled around outside on the lawn, some people crying, others filming the scene in front of them.
Walking closer, the image in front stuns me. A face is covered by hair and there's blood all around a lifeless body. The police arrive moments later, ushering everyone back, and they go to check the body on the floor. After a few moments, we see them place a white cloth over her face.
'She's dead.' Theia gasps stepping back and covering her mouth in shock.
'What? Who is it?' I ask anyone, trying to walk closer to see.
The noise and commotion around me seems to fade away but Kree's voice brings my hearing back.
'Shit! It's Bee's mom.'
