Little Jasmine runs as they all follow her, she panics hearing the howls letting her know they are near and they will catch her.

Stumbling she runs for her life, but her little feet are twisted in the stone letting a shriek fall from her mouth as pain wrenches in her leg.

While trying to get back up she falls back down when the wolf jumps on her out of nowhere making whimpers come out of her mouth as she keeps holding her teddy tightly and closing her eyes as the wolf growls near her.

"Mommy!" she cries when the wolf smells her

It backs down when a bigger wolf comes to their side. She holds her breathe as well as shutting her mouth so not a sound would come out of her as she watches them all growl and bark at each other.

Finally, they quiet down and all the eyes turn her way making her back down slowly as she wishes to be invisible. She shrinks more into the ground clutching her teddy behind her in an attempt to save it.

She prays closing her eyes to not get eaten by them when suddenly she is being picked up into warm arms.

"Open your eyes little one!" She hears the gentle voice and she peeks to look at the person as she finds kind blue eyes watching at her with an equally warm smile.

"You're safe!" he states still with the smile

Daring and being a bit brave she looks around to find some in their human form and some still in their wolf forms. Then the man walks with her still wrapped in his arms to a car.

Not knowing who they are and what they want she looks around for a familiar face but finds none. As the man leaves her inside the car she takes a peek through the window.

Everywhere she turns to look she finds some unknown men talking, some running around holding stretchers and some holding the people who are naked and bruised.

When a familiar face is being carried she jumps out of her seat with hope blooming in her little heart.

"Uncle" she shouts running towards him in desperate attempt to be with someone she knows rather than these strangers.

As she is just a few steps away from her uncle the same man who had saved her from the wolf picks her up in the air. She struggles screaming for her uncle to look at her but he does not.

A familiar face being carried on one of the stretchers makes her stay still and she watches in horror before she screams.

"Mommy" she yells, this time biting the man's hand to let her go.

She runs to her mother's side scared not knowing what was going on around her.

"Mommy, Mommy!" she shouts shaking her mother's body but her mother does not open her eyes.

"Mommy" she shouts again when someone kneels beside her

"She's dead kiddo" the same man whispers those words to her

She looks at the man with tears filled eyes as she holds her mother's hand neither wanting to believe him nor wanting them to take her mother away.

"We were too late and couldn't save her, I'm sorry kiddo" he states as she cries hopelessly

"I'm going to take you to your new home" the man informs her tugging her away from her mother's side.

"Will my mommy be there?" she asks with hope as she keeps looking at her mother's body

However, the man does not answer her as he quietly puts her in the car. She silently sniffles when the car starts to move.

Looking out of the car, she looks back at the place that was her home a few moments ago, but not any more, as she knows she will not be able to come back here again for quiet sometime.

Adrian picks the little bundle up in his arms as she has fallen asleep from the long drive all the way through her pack to his. He smiles as Scar his beautiful mate rushes to his side as soon as she knows he is back.

"Adrian!" she calls out happily but stops when she sees he is carrying someone.

"Adrian?" she asks looking at the girl in confusion wanting to know what was going on.

Passing the bundle to his beta Warren, Adrian kisses his mate before holding her in his arms as he explains.

"She is the only survivor, we were too late" Adrian informs her disheartened.

Scar gasps looking at the poor child before she turns to her mate with teary eyes remembering their own child who no longer is with them.

Adrian feels her pain so he pulls her in his arms once again trying to comfort his distressed mate.

"Honey, its okay" he tries to soothe her pain while she nods

She asks Warren to give her the child, as she carries the girl to settle her down. Scar takes the girl to one of the guest room, where she puts her in the bed.

Her heart breaks looking at the child as she remembers her own baby girl who was a stillborn. Scar brushes Jasmine's hair away from her face before she gets up to bring in a wet towel to wipe the dirt from the girl's face.

Scar takes off the child's shoes before she starts to wipe the dirt from her face, hands and legs only to see scratches everywhere. She feels a sharp pain in her heart as she sees the girl in such a terrible state and still the girl did not show any sign of being hurt.

Asking one of the maids to bring some medicine, she cleans the bruises and cuts before putting some medicine on it. All the while, the child does not make a sound or show any sign of waking up.

Scar asks for some clean clothes for the girl and leaves as soon as she changes her dress. Making sure the girl is fine she closes the door quietly.

Scar asks one of the betas to guard the door and inform her immediately if the girl wakes up or if she has some problems. After that, Scar makes her way to her mate.

Adrian nods at Warren to join him in the study. As they settle down in the room, Adrian pours both of them something to drink after the horrible day, they definitely deserve it.

"What are we going to do about the kid?" Warren asks as he gulps the drink.

"She will stay with us, I can't just abandon her" he sighs as he takes a seat and Warren follows him.

"Yes, but what about the pack. I don't think they will easily accept her." He points out.

"Leave the pack to me; they won't be stupid enough to go against my decision" Adrian states.

"You're right we all respect you too much to go against you but still no one will easily accept her if they know her roots" Warren points the fact out for him

"Yes, I know it's not going to be easy for her but they will come to love her I know for sure. She is just an innocent kid, after all" he explains in defense of the girl.

Both of them silently keep sipping their drinks lost in their own thoughts before Warren speaks.

"What would have happened in that pack for the Alpha to go rogue?"

"No idea, but it's not so easy to sweep off the entire pack by just one person Warren. I do not think even if Alpha Jasper had gone rogue he would be capable of such destruction. It's so complicated" Adrian rubs his face as that question has been on his mind from the start as well

"Did you talk with Alpha Antonio about all of this?" Warren asks him.

"Yes, Giovanni too thinks it's not possible for Jasper to do all of this alone. I will have to inform the council and if necessary, I will pledge to give us full authority on the girl seeing she has no one to return to...

For some reason, I have a gut feeling that the incident that took place tonight did not just end at the summer's pack. Its impact will be huge on our kind"

Warren nods as he replays the destruction he saw tonight, all those bodies torn apart and he gulps down the whole drink before he states.

"We should inform all the other packs near by, if Jasper is alive he may be danger for all of us and god knows what help he got to kill all those innocent people if he even did it"

"I know, I will hold a meeting as soon as I can, but first we should talk with the girl. Let's find out if she remembers anything, I want to make sure she is physically as well as mentally fit after tonight's incident" Ad voices his thoughts

"I still don't feel positive about her being in our land, what if Jasper is innocent and whatever did this comes for us?" Warren asks worried for the safety of his pack while Adrian looks at his beta in amusement.

"Am I hearing a doubt about my judgment from you Warren or are you scared about your life after you saw the destruction tonight?" Ad cannot help but tease him making Warren scoff

"I'm not scared of anything Adrian, don't get fooled, and just because you are my Alpha doesn't mean I will back out on kicking your ass" Warren growls teasing him back

They both laugh as they start to plan about the security around the pack grounds so no incidents occur.

"Father?" calls Adrian's son Advin as he enters the room.

Adrian smiles at his son and gets up to hug him.

"Hey son, why are you still up?" he asks as he thought his kids would be in bed by now.

Advin looks at his father as he takes a seat beside him but not before nodding at Warren.

"How can you expect me to sleep, when I know you are out in danger?" he huffs irritated his father even asked about it.

Adrian laughs looking at his son, Advin is just so easy to rile up

"I know why you are worried son and the answer is still No. I will take you or ask you to join when I know you are strong enough to handle all of this! You are still too young" he states making Advin groans.

"Father, I'm not little anymore, I'm 15 already and I'm a really good fighter in my class ask Warren he trains me hard everyday!" he points out as Adrian puts his hands up in the air in surrender

"Okay, okay, I get it. I know how good you are son but it is not enough for me to send you on the missions where the Rouges are very unstable. It's different out in the real field so you won't be going until you are of age and no more arguments in this topic!" he finalizes stopping any further discussion on the topic.

Advin tries to protest but stops as the arrival of his mother interrupts him.

"She must have exhausted herself so I just let her rest in the guest room and also I asked one of your betas to keep a watch on her" she informs as she goes to sit on her mate's lap happily

"Thank you!" Adrian nods kissing her

"Who" Advin asks curiously ignoring his parent's passionate embrace

"Oh! When our pack reached the other pack it was too late, they had no choice but to bring the only survivor in here. She is right now asleep" his mother explains excitedly to her son

"But who is she? You shouldn't just bring anyone in here dad" Advin asks his father not liking some unknown girl being in their pack's ground.

"If my assumption is correct she is the only daughter of the Alpha of summer's pack. We couldn't find that bastard and her mother, she is no longer alive" he explains in short to his son as he is too tired to think about the matter anymore and just want the night to end

"You brought a traitor's child into this house!" Advin shouts startling everyone at his outburst

"Advin calm down!" Adrian orders but he does not listen.

"No father, I won't. Her father is the reason for all this shit! He was the one who killed all of his pack and you brought his spawn here to our pack!" he shouts at his father in disbelief

"That's enough!" Adrian roars at his son as his wolf senses the disrespect from Advin who submits whimpering to him.

"It's not her fault if her father has gone rouge and tried to kill everyone. He didn't even spare his own mate, that girl was scared running away from him when we found her and I'm glad we found her in time before it was too late...

But son let me remind you it's just our assumption that the Alpha killed his own pack till it's proven that he is guilty we can't just blame the guy and even if he was guilty it has nothing to do with the girl I brought home...

She is just as innocent as the next person; don't blame her for mistakes she doesn't even know about"

"But still" Advin protest and Adrian walks to him

"I know son you won't understand it now but if our roles were reversed, I expect you to do the same...

She is a mere child, what do you expect me to do? Leave her to die in that place all alone; it's not her fault that she was his child! Everyone deserves to live their life and I know once you meet her you'll come to love her son!" he smiles hugging his son.

"Oh she is so cute, I'm sure you will love her" Scar adds excitedly as she can't wait for meet the girl to wake up.

"Whatever, I still don't think it's a good idea to bring her in here" he grumbles as he folds his arms sitting back on the chair irritated.

"Awe my baby, you look so cute when you pout" Scar pinches his cheeks.

"Why is everything cute to you?" Advin just rolls his eyes as he states,

Adrian and Warren chuckles as they see an irritated Advin, who cannot stand his mother's ministration in front of his father.

Because of this, it will only make him look like a mama's boy. Moreover, what if his father thinks he is weak.

Therefore, he gets up from his seat taking his leave as he makes his way to his room leaving them to finish their talk. He stops and turns around, as he smells something sweet lingering on the air.

He makes a beeline to where the scent is coming so strongly from. He stops taking a strong sniff of the scent as he ends up in front of a door.

Opening the door to enter the room, he stops when he sees a little girl asleep on the bed sucking on her thumb. At that exact moment, his whole world shifts to her and his wolf howls in his head as he whispers that one familiar word he has been hearing all his life.

"Mate"

Advin stands still watching the girl he just realized is his mate with a look of fascination, he walks towards her slowly to get a closer look and watches in awe, as his little mate is sound asleep with her thumb between her lips.

He holds his breathe as she whimpers in her sleep, she searches for something in the air throwing her hands around. He panics, as he is scared she will wake her up so he too looks around to see what she is searching for when his eyes land on the teddy bear, he slowly stretches to get the bear to her.

As soon as she touches the bear, she once again falls into a deep sleep making him take breathes of relief. Advin takes a step closer to touch her but stops as he hears someone coming to the room.

He looks around to hide, before rushing into the bathroom; he easily hides his scent and checks from behind the bathroom door to see if whoever came to the room has gone or not?

"That's the girl Alpha brought with him from that pack; I heard that she is the only survivor. Poor girl, I feel bad for such a little thing" someone states

"Don't feel bad for her; she may be a monster like her father who knows. I heard her father was the reason the whole pack died. If I were in our Alpha's place, I would have left her there to die. Who knows what troubles she has brought along with her? She may be a danger to us" the next person comments.

"Don't say such things she is a child?" the former person scolds.

"Fine, shout at me now but let me tell you this girl is bad for our pack. I feel bad for the person who will turn out to be her mate...

I hope he will have the brains to reject her, such an abomination shouldn't have a right to live in this world"

"Shut up, gosh let's go before the guard comes to check on her and instead finds us" the next woman worries before dragging both of them out of the room in a hurry.

Advin waits for a while before he walks out of the room; he cannot help but keep replaying the words those two said about his mate, which affects him.

Rushing to his room before anyone sees him he closes the door and tries to control his wolf's howl, which is driving him crazy.

"Shut up!" he shouts at his wolf and paces back and forth in confusion about the situation

"No, no, no! She cannot be our mate, you must be wrong, may be you just mixed up with the scent. She cannot be our mate! This is wrong I can't have a murderer's daughter as my mate" he panics suddenly scared of the outcome if anyone finds out the truth

"Mate, Mate!" is all he gets from his wolf as an answer.

Advin lies on his bed as he tries to calm his wolf that is hell bent to over take his body and go to his mate. Finally, after talking and making him submit his wolf gives up.

"No, I can't accept her as my mate, I won't, what if the pack thinks I won't be a good Alpha because of her. What if every one thinks I am weak, cannot take responsibility?

No, I will not let some girl to come in between my dreams to be the best warrior and Alpha. There are many who have survived and are strong without their mate, I too will be fine without her after all my life was going along just fine before she even came and it can remain the same now. She is just a small girl anyway" Advin says with strong determination

With that decision, he feels a bit of peace with his human side. However his wolf has its own theory about their mate, but he totally ignores it as sleep finally takes over him with an image of an innocent little girl, curled up with a thumb in her mouth on a bed asleep.
