God I feel so stupid now," Adrian groans at the other side of the phone and Raine smiles knowing he must be vigorously rubbing his face as well.

"You did not know" she tries.

"Well I should have given a little thought and should have believed when she told me they were soul mates, but..."

"But you had stopped believing in soul mates after your own mate betrayed you so you thought it will be same with her...

Its okay Papa, I know men are born clueless; it is a biological thing seeing how it takes several million sperms cells to locate a female egg despite the fact that the egg is relative to them" she tries to console him.

"At this point of my life I do not even know if I should feel happy about the fact that my daughter is consoling me or embarrassed at the fact that she is talking about sperms with me"

"That was an insult Papa, take it, no charges" Raine giggles making him laugh as well.

"Now why are you so silent?" Raine asks as she puts the phone away and turns to her mate.

"Do you know Connor lost his baby sister shortly after that night?" Devilin's rage filled voice makes her slowly nod her head.

"Too many lives were destroyed by his hands and few more are at stake and we will never be able to save anyone if we keep getting riled up on everything"

"Stalker, we both know this is not just anything. Do you have any idea how much Connor and Crystal suffered because of that incident?

Connor was a human who was accidentally turned into a vampire; he hated the one woman he loved for all the wrong reasons" he growls at her.

"Yes but they are together for the right reasons" she puts her hand on his cheek to calm him down.

"That's not the point" Devilin grounds.

"The point is now we know and now we will get at the bottom of this all. For that, I need you to be calm, very much so that I do not have to be worried that you will do something wrong to get hurt"

"That filth is going to die a thousand times when I get my hands on him, for every hurt he gave to my dear ones either be Crystal or Ariel"

"Okay. Now can we talk with Connor?" she smiles teasingly at him.

"Fuck no"

"But you said..."

"You will not talk with him, mate not until you tell me what you know" Devilin warns her as he holds her hand in his own.

"You are such a spoiler" she sighs as she snuggles in his chest.

"Tell Me," he requests as he lifts her chin up to see her face.

"I don't know if my intuition is right or not but I think Thomas has something to do with the Royals downfall and it has something to do with the dimension Crystal handles"

"What do you mean?"

"Crystal's blood is magical, we all know the story how she saved Enzo and it was Thomas who told Papa about Connor and Crystal, what are the chances Thomas knew before anyone about her blood's power and what if he was somewhat wanting to gain something from her?" she asks explaining what doubts she had on the topic.

"Have I told you how much I love you?" Devilin asks as he smiles caressing her cheek.

"It's been exactly three hours and you did not" she replies cheekily.

"You my love, you give me so many damn reasons to love you even more that I keep thinking if it's even real and if I am even alive to find such a great woman as you as my mate" he confesses brushing their lips together.

"Ugh, how can you be so cheesy" she moans as she attacks his lips.

"So can I talk with Connor now?" Raine sighs as she pushes a bit away from him after their kiss.

"No"

"Why?"

"I don't think this conversation is something we should do on a phone, talking about the past will just make him think about it all over again and it may cause a distress in their life so we will talk about it when we see them next"

"But, it will be too late, we need to find him soon" she is adamant about it making him sigh.

"We will find him, it's not just your responsibility and even if you are not able to find him first someone will do that but right now I want you to relax and enjoy the time without giving yourself any stress" he requests as he pulls her body closer to him.

"What if we will never be able to find him and it's a never ending cycle, us trying to catch him while he easily hurts each of us?" she asks quietly as her head is safely tucked on his chest.

"It will end, everything ends eventually, it may be a long or short way but nothing is a never ending cycle not even our own lives...

We may live a long life but we are not immortals, we will catch him so just relax. Look at the positive side, we have come a long way, we know much more about him then we knew before, secrets are being revealed little by little and before we know it, it will all come to an end...

And I know it will be a happy ending to all of us, all you need to do is calm down" he speaks to her softly as he plays with the strands of her and she just takes a deep calming breathe closing her eyes and relaxing with his arms around her.

Both of them stay quiet for a while enjoying their time together without any words spoken.

"Why don't you go start a bath for us, so we can relax a bit more?" Devilin suggests as he kisses her head.

"Okay, hurry" she smiles as she pecks on his lips and walks towards their room to start a bath.

Raine hums as she walks towards the bathroom and pulls out some scented candles and herbs to dip in the bathtub. Tossing her clothes out from her body, she dips her finger in the tub to check on the temperature before she dips in and waits for her mate.

Devilin stares straight as he is still seated on the couch and focuses on the sound around him, he sits quiet as he listens to her movements and humming before he silently gets up from the couch.

Instead of making his way towards his mate, he walks out of the house, slowing opening and closing the door so not to disturb his clueless mate.

He scans the area around his house but finds nothing but silence not even a single bird's chirp. His concentration is broken when something shiny comes flying his way and turns into ashes, he tilts his head to a side and keeps staring at the point from where the object came flying from before he walks towards it.

Few more things come flying his way but not one of it touches him as it turns into ashes.

"Mad that I touched her first before you did?" he speaks with an air of arrogance to the intruder.

As an answer, all he gets is few more attacks but nothing touches him.

"Your anger is of no use, these shields are more powerful than anything you have seen so far, your attempts to break in is all in vain Thomas...

Remember the time I warned you to stay away from her...well guess what I will fucking end you because you tried to touch what has always been mine and you will never be able to touch her, not until I am alive...

Even if you do touch her, you will get nothing but my scent all over her from head to toe, in and out. I have not just marked her as my mate but her soul as well" he continues to talk as he touches the invisible shield that has the house protected.

"You can spend your whole life trying to break in but you can never do so, I would love to stay and chat but she is waiting for me you see, naked and ready for my taking" he grins as he turns around to walk in but the sound of something shattering halts his steps and wipes his smirk.

"You bastard" a woman's cry makes Devilin turns at once before he jumps from the ground just as she attacks him.

"How could you do this to me?" she cries as she pulls out a dagger and keeps attacking Devilin.

Devilin goes to jump away from her attack but something stops him, he looks around to find his leg being bound by some rope and he frowns as he tries to pull his leg out but fails so he focuses on not being stabbed by the dagger.

"How could you betray me like this? I did everything for you, I always tried to be there for you even when you pushed me away and now you claim her as your mate after everything I went through for you...

After the lengths I went just to aid you?" she screams at her as she aims at his heart but he grabs her hand easily takes the dagger out before he pushes her away with all of his strength.

Devilin uses the dagger to cut the rope on his leg and steps away, the woman tries to use her magic to trap him but he steps on her hand making her scream this time in pain.

"Nicole" he breathes as he stabs the dagger in her hand nailing her to the ground and her scream gets louder.

Kneeling on the ground, he wraps his hand around her neck and starts to put the pressure on it. Her eyes widen, as she cannot breathe.

"Just because you broke the shield you think you can kill me so easily?" he grits through his teeth in anger as he stares straight in her eyes with nothing but pure rage.

"I can easily finish your life just with a snap don't test me" he warns as he loosens his grip on her neck, as soon as he does that she starts to cough.

"I will never forgive you"

"Forgive me? For what? I do not remembering promising you anything in return for the help Nicole and I do not even know I had given you any hints that our acquaintance will be anything but professional" he growls as he pulls the dagger out of her hand and she screams once again in pain.

"But I always gave you enough hints that I wanted something more from you" she shouts at him in rage.

"I did not ask for your help, it was Reese's but you were the one who willingly offered to help me so do not confuse my politeness to something more...

Being one of the head witches you should have known better," he scolds the girl who glares at him.

"What's so special about her anyway?" Nicole asks him.

"She is mine," he snaps as he growls at her and she jumps a bit startled.

"Not for long, Thomas will take her away from you and you will come to me eventually" she smirks but it is wiped away as she her head bangs hard on the near tree with Devilin's hand wrapped around her neck.

"Do not test my patience"

"Patience is all you will have when he is done with her, you did the biggest mistake of your life Devilin, you should have never mated her...

Now she is as useless as a fallen leaf on the ground, she is no use to anyone of you. You made his job easier now...

Nicole laughs aloud as she watches Devilin step away from her.

"That's impossible," Devilin whispers.

"Oh yes it is Devilin, you think you figured it all out, I am sorry to say you did not. Now he is invincible and immortal, nothing in this world can kill him...

"So that is why he has wanted to take control of those dragons not to use them against us but to lure the fairy's and force them to fight against the Angels" Devilin whisper asks shaking his head at the things he heard.

"Of course, now you see. You are so stupid Devilin, I could have kept you happy and satisfied I still can. I can talk with Thomas, let her go and we can be happy together...

You do not have to be the hero wanting to save everyone; you can still walk out of this all, unharmed...

Just say yes Devilin" she tries to lure him as she slowly walks towards him and touches his cheek.

"Touch him again and I will fucking end you, right now" Raine's voice startles both of them and Devilin jumps away from Nicole.

"Raine" Devilin calls turning to face his mate.

"Just kidding. I cannot kill you at all, I hate getting blood on my hands and I get it from my periods anyway...

"Shut up bitch" Nicole rolls her eyes at her stupidity.

"Keep rolling your eyes may be you will find a brain back there" Raine counters as she steps besides Devilin who just sighs.

"How dare you?" Nicole shouts at Raine for the insult as she goes to attack the girl but halts when Raine swings her hands around her.

"Do not even try to come near me; I will slap you even if it will be called animal abuse. How dare I? How dare you to come and try to seduce my mate whom I have stalked for the last three years...

I hope you step on a Lego for each attempt you made to seduce him...

"I will kill you," Nicole warns before she goes to chant something but ends up coughing as Raine stuffs something in her mouth.

Nicole spits the sand out of the mouth Raine put in.

"I have played Prince of Persia many times to know the use of sand and it always saves me from enemies" she finishes off dusting her hands before a portal is opened and few men steps out of it.

Devilin nods towards Nicole and the men walks towards her before they get hold on her and walks back away inside of the portal leaving Raine to blink a few times.

"I called them," Devilin sighs as he pulls his mate inside of the house once again and rebuilds the shield.

"Huh?"

"The water must be cold by now" he sighs locking the door behind them.

"Devil" Raine calls but her words turn into a moan as he kisses her at once and picks her up walking towards their bedroom.

"Are you not glad that we did not fully mate? We have the advantage now" Raine giggles as she lands on the bed underneath him.

"What I am glad about is you being here with me" he kisses her jaw.

"Say it loud Devil, my idea worked. Now we know what will kill him," she grins cheekily as she holds his face to stop him from distracting her from all the kisses.

"But I really wanted to mate you" he groans as he buries his head in her neck.

"Well I can blow you," she offers with a giggle ruffling his hair while he keeps nipping on her neck.

"I will like that" he agrees.
