Raine try as she might cannot take the smile off her face, she might burst if she will smile even a slight bit more. Her happiness has no limits as she shares her meals with her family.

The fact that Ariel and her mate were there with them is not even able to put a dent on her happiness.

Devon watches the girl sitting with them at the table with a smile on his face while she keeps eating everything and anything made by the Martins.

"Raine, how did you know my mate?" Ariel's question stiffens Devon while Raine frowns.

"Huh?"

"You and Dev you both know each other closely it seems, on our engagement day I saw you two in the room may I know why?" Ariel asks straight which now brings everyone's attention towards their talk.

"Air" Devon warns his mate as this was not the time or place.

Ariel, after she was discharged has been nagging him about Raine about how they knew each other and even if he wanted to tell her, she was Devilin's mate he could not as Devilin has yet to announce it himself.

He does not want to spoil his brother's right to announce it himself to all and now Ariel has it in her mind that Raine was one of the girls he once had an affair with.

"What, can I not know the reason of the girl being in my house at the exact time we are here and how you two looked so close at our engagement party?" she asks him mockingly with a hint of jealousy.

Even if Devon admits, he enjoyed her jealousy the glare from her father was not something he is enjoying now.

"Is there a problem, sweetie?" Adrian asks as he puts the fork back on the plate.

"No dad, but I just wanted to know what Raine is doing here seeing as this is a family dinner?" Ariel asks, as she smiles reassuring towards her father who frowns as he senses she was not happy.

"The twins invited me for a few days and as for how I know your mate well I work in HP that is explanation enough about how I know every breathing non-human that exists...

Also, I don't want your mate; no body wants your mate that is why he is with you" Raine answers getting up from her seat as her mood was now dampened and she was back to ground zero as the atmosphere they were in was now ruined.

"The dinner was great now if you will just excuse me" Raine adds as she walks out of the table.

Devon finds Raine in the garden, he had walked in there to be away from all the drama that just occurred and now his mate is sure they have something going on between them after whatever Raine said.

He was not planning to confront the girl but seeing her he could not help but poke her as being the brother of Devlin and son of Dante, he had the right to tease and irk the shit out of her.

"Hello stalker" Devon calls as he joins Raine who glares his way.

Raine gasps as her legs wobbles a bit and she stumbles down atop him, Devon groans as her knee comes crashing on his privates.

"Oh fuck," he shouts in pain before he clutches on his private and falls off the bench in pain.

"Oh god, sorry" Raine winces as she sees him in pain and breath heavily as he glares her way.

"Can you not fall properly?" he shouts as his pain slows down.

"Jeez, do you need ice for it?" she asks feeling a bit bad.

"Fuck" Devon curses as he goes to take his pant off to check the damage.

"What the hell do you think you are doing?" Raine asks in horror.

"What do you think, get out now I need to check on..." he fumbles with his belt.

"What the fuck is going on here?" Adrian's voice stops Devon's fumble and stiffens both him and Raine.

"This is not what it looks like" Devon states as he faces his soon to be father-in-law.

Adrian stares at Raine and then to the condition Devon was in with his hands holding onto his pants.

"Office now" he growls at the man ordering him to follow Adrian.

"This is your entire fault" Devon sneers at Raine who shows her tongue at him.

"You reap what you sow," she hisses at him watching him walk away.

Raine just stares at the way both of the men went before staring at her hand and back at the way, he went.

"You really are not my mate any more," she whispers as she did not feel any current pass from both of them when he touched her and that made me even more sad.

"I can explain" is the first words that come out of Devon's mouth as soon as he enters the office.

"I want you to pack your bags and leave this ground this instant Dev, and you are no longer welcomed in this house"

"No, you cannot do that, what about Ariel"

"She will stay with us until she decides she is ready to mate with you and until you prove that you are worthy of her"

A knock on Raine's door makes her stand up and she opens it to find Adrian in the doorway.

"I think we both know why I am here," he states while she nods her head yes.

"Then you must also know that you are no longer welcomed in here"

If you being around saddens her then I have no other choice but to ask you to leave, may be one day you can come back here and stay with us for a little while longer but not now"

Adrian finishes as he finalizes his decision regarding her stay, even if he has come to like the bubbly nature of the girl he cannot risk his daughter's happiness for it.

"One last thing, stay away from my daughter's mate he is not yours" Adrian warns her off and she nods her head slowly.

"I have asked Warren to drop you off to the HP he is waiting for you outside as for the twins..."

"Don't worry, just tell them some emergency came up at HP so I have to leave I am sure they will understand" she replies smiling his way before she goes to turn around and start packing.

"Thank you" Adrian nods the girl's way as he too turns to leave.

"Papa" her call stops him.

"Can I ask you something?" she asks turning once again to face him.

"That night, if you could go back in time would you make any changes in your decision, would you chose your daughter this time?" she asks him wanting, dying to know if he wished she was alive.

"Yes, if I could go back in time to that day then I would have definitely chosen to save my daughter that day...

Raine finds herself riding shotgun with Warren, as they are to leave the pack grounds. Just last morning she was excited to be in the pack lands and now all of it was a bitter memory for her.

"You know Adrian is not so bad once you get to know him, I don't know what the shouting was all about but kiddo..."
