Gio sighs as he slowly rubs the mark on the side of his mate's neck; there is a ghost of a smile on his lips as he watches her asleep and for the first time he was not scared to watch her fall asleep as this time it was not because of her sickness but from exhaustion.

He was happy to share the bond with her, which was letting him know that she was all right. He gently gets up from the bed and walks out of the room letting her sleep for a little while, while he goes to prepare breakfast for them.

"Congratulations"

"Fuck" Gio shouts startled as he heard Devilin's voice out of nowhere.

"Sorry" Devilin grins unapologetically.

"What the fuck are you doing here and how the fuck did you even know I was here?" Gio whisper asks as he checks inside the room to find Engel still asleep before he drags Devilin along with him.

"Sorry for the bad timing but there were things I needed to talk about with you"

"Can you not wait?" Gio asks as he moves to make some coffee first.

"You know I would not have sought you out if it could wait"

"Fine what is it?" Gio sighs giving in as he rubs his face a bit tired.

"I want some files from HP without anyone's knowledge," Devilin requests and Gio pauses in what he was doing, before slowing turning towards Devilin.

"What did you just said?"

"I need some access to files which only you can help me with as Rom is the one in charge of HP and that means no one will question you"

"What about your father he holds half of the things in there"

"Yes, but as I said I don't want anyone to know about it. Actually, I don't even want you to know about it so after the task is done I will have to ask my brother to erase your memory" Devilin simply warns

"The fuck Dev, what the hell is going on?" Gio asks not liking the conversation.

"I cannot let you know before I am sure of a few things so don't ask I won't be telling you anything"

"If you can so easily erase my memory then why not go directly to the faculty and get whatever you need and then erase the memory of the people around?" Gio asks curious.

"Because I know my brother will fuck it up if he has to erase more than a few heads and I was just teasing you, I trust you enough to know that this never happened between us...

Even Don will not be the one to know what goes on between you and me, so are you in?" he asks once again.

"Fine, I will bring those files to you anyway some guy named Rain is in charge or something; I have not got around to meeting the dude...

I hope I am not helping you do something illegal" Gio points his finger at Devilin in warning while he nods.

"I will meet you out of HP after you are done" Devilin states as he turns towards the way they arrived sensing Engel waking up.

"You better leave she is awake and I will call you once I have the file" Gio replies before turning back to make coffee.

Devilin halts in his step as Engel just walks out calling his name.

"Devilin, is that you?" she calls and both the men curse at the same time.

"Hello Love, sleep well," Gio asks, walking towards her with a bright smile.

"You know I did" she smiles back getting on her tiptoes to kiss him.

"Hi, Devilin, how are you?" she asks turning back to Devilin who stands awkwardly.

"Ah, good, congratulations on the mating" he smiles.

"Thank you. I heard about your brother as well as about him being mated to Ariel," she states and he nods confirming it.

"I hope I did not disturb anything?" she asks looking from Gio to Devilin, as they were both too quiet.

"He was just leaving" Gio smiles as he informs his mate.

"But why were you here?" Engel cannot help but asks.

"He came to inform about Eric being in the HP a few days ago," Gio states, which stiffens both Devilin and Engel.

"Why did you not say so before?" Engel asks in excitement before Devilin could react.

"Sorry honey, but no one can meet him till the council says so. And you cannot tell this to anyone especially Erika and Enzo, Eric's requests else he may run again" Gio explains as he stares from her to Devilin, especially to Devilin in a meaningful way who nods in understanding.

"I will leave you both" Devlin voices before he walks out of the door without a glance.

"We should have asked him to join us for coffee" Engel comments seeing him walk away.

"May be next time, as I want to be the only man with you right now" Gio grins as he picks her up in his arms.

"I think we both know you are the only man that has been around me," she agrees flicking him on his nose.

"So, what do you want to have for breakfast?" Gio asks as he settles her on the top of the counter and goes to check the fridge.

"Surprise me" she smiles swinging her legs in the air and Gio's focus lands on them.

"If you keep swinging your legs in that way then I cannot promise what will surprise you next," Gio murmurs before pulling out some fruits from the fridge.

Engel smiles secretly as she watches her mate cut the fruits before she slowly pulls the shirt she was wearing which belonged to her mate and slightly touch her mating mark.

"Fuck" Gio shouts dropping the knife on the ground as he takes hold of the counter edge for support as his legs went weak.

Engel giggles as she sees her mate's reaction and Gio turns her way to glare in warning.

"You are playing with fire, my love"

"What...I was just"

"Just trying to rile something up that will end up with you underneath me" he finishes for her and another fit of giggles escapes her lips.

"It's not my fault if you go so sensitive when I touch my mark," she pouts touching it again to prove it to him.

"Engel, I will not be held responsible of my actions if you keep doing so and princess I don't want you to fall asleep on me while we are in middle of something very important" he teases with a twinkle in his eyes and Engel rolls her eyes.

"Oh please, I so did not fall asleep" she laughs as he comes to pick her up once again and after handing her the bowl of fruits.

"Good that you did not, imagine the embarrassment I would have to face for the rest of my life after your mom is done teasing me" he groans shaking his head as he still remembers how Erika had called and questioned him about things only if she knew he was actually inside her daughter when she called him.

"Oh god, don't remind me I still cannot believe you picked her call up when we were in between mating" she shivers thinking about that moment.

"What can I say, you mother has the worst timing, it's like she knew when we both would do it" Gio states as he drops her onto the couch and on the T.V.

"She will have a field day if she ever knew about it," Engel laughs shaking her head.

"Tell me about it, anyway you okay right?" he asks pulling her between his legs as they both settles down on the carpeted floor with Gio's back on the couch.

"I have never been better; I have never felt this safe and happy before. I love this new bond we have, I feel closer to you" she smiles turning a bit to watch his face.

"You are not the only one" he smiles back leaving a small kiss on her forehead as he hand feeds her the fruits.

"By surprise me I did not mean only fruits," she complains even if she opens her mouth.

"Finish the fruits first then I will surprise you" he grins turning her face in front so he can watch some news.

"News, really Gio" she groans shuffling in her place.

"Ssh, just the headlines and then you can watch your dramas while I go cook for us"

"Can I not stay with you while you cook?"

"Want me to walk around with you behind my back like a koala baby?"

"Hmm...that will be nice, I like snuggling with my big bad mate" she sighs happily hugging him tightly.

"Oh now I am the bad one in here, let me remind you my princess it was you who have been bad, a very bad one between us," he teases pinching her nose lightly while she giggles.

"Ooh...does that mean I get to be on top next" she asks him innocently fluttering her eyelashes.

"As long as I am the one you are riding, it does not matter if you are at top or bottom," he teases her back.

"Deal" she grins pushing him away from her so he can go make something delicious.

"Gio, that's not fair" Engel shouts as she tries to take the remote off his hands but he pulls his hands away, out of her reach grinning.

"It's just a few more minutes" Gio states back still with his hands away from her reach while his eyes were on the T.V.

"I cannot believe this is even happening, how so romantic of you to watch news while you are with your mate," she grumbles hitting him sharply on the arm before she sits back on her seat with her arms fold.

"I know right, now hush let me hear this" he hushes her as he once again focuses on the T.V.

"Seriously, Gio this is not even funny anymore, can you not watch your news later? It is either this or some of your manly games that is on the television...

I have had enough of this in my own home with four of my brute brothers and now my own mate" she whines fussing over it.

"You do know that it is important for me to check on news every few hours just to make sure nothing out of the ordinary happens...

As for my manly games as you put it, well have you ever heard me complain about the series of dramas you watch?" he asks raising a brow her way as he shuts off the television.

"Don't you dare speak ill words about my dramas, I have to find some way to kill my time when I know you will be gone for a few days, weeks or even months" she states frowning a bit thinking about it.

"I can stay if you want me to; all you have to do is say so"

"But we also know that if I did it will not be fair, I don't want to come in between you and your responsibility...

I know it is hard on all of you men to look after our world so people like us feel happy and safe," she states smiling.

"Thank you for understanding it" Gio smiles as he lightly brushes her cheek before pecking lightly on her nose.

"I don't think we will need this many toothbrushes," Engel giggles as she puts the complete family packet of brushes back on its spot.

"Well, you will be staying in for a long, long time with me so why not?" he asks as he keeps pushing the trolley around to buy a few more things they will need for the week while they enjoy their honeymoon phase.

"Seriously Gio, if it finishes we can come back and buy more it's not like it will go extinct" Engel explains while she picks some vegetables checking in on the price and quality.

"Wow, you really are a real deal, now I know I will not die of starvation" Gio teases seeing her so into the grocery shopping they were doing as a couple.

"Well, you can thank my mom for it" Engel states smiling a little while she shakes her head.

"Well, you have no idea how much I thank that woman every single day for gifting me you" he replies pulling her tightly to his side and nipping on her neck.

"Gio, behave" Engel scolds hitting on his arm as she looks around.

"You have become so abusive now that we are together," he pouts letting her go.

"Suck it up big boy," she teases before wrapping her arms around his torso as they go through the aisle of foods.

"Now that I think of Eri, she did ask me to find someone for her, I wonder if she met the girl" Gio speaks which makes Engel turn her gaze to him.

"Girl...Who?"

"Virginia or something, I will have to call her and ask once again, I will check about her when I go to the HP," he murmurs as they stand in the line to pay.

"Will you be going straight?" she asks once they finish paying.

"No, I can go on later, this is my time with you" he grins as he carries the bags and walks together with his mate to their car.

"Does that mean I can tag along?" she asks hopefully, wondering if she can go meet her brother.

"Sorry princess, council order no Antonio's on the HP grounds especially after the stunt Eri pulled as well something to do with Eric" he explains once he finishes putting the bags in and opening the passenger door for Engel.

"Well, if you see him tell him that I miss him and he better come back home soon"

"Don't worry, I am sure he misses you all equal he just may have forgotten his way back" Gio smiles trying to cheer her as Eric was a sensitive topic to all the Antonio's.

"Try these" Gio states as he feeds her some of the sausages.

"Yum, yum" Engel grins chewing on it and enjoying being pampered.

"Do you want to go out tomorrow or do anything you like?" Gio asks wiping the corner of her lips with his thumb.

"Let us just stay in, it's like the very first time I have not fallen asleep and I want to just stay in with you"

"Staying in it is then, but I will have to leave you for a bit while I go visit HP, but don't worry mom will be here with you as I am sure Erika is not on the choice list of both of ours" Gio chuckles as he keeps feeding her as well as eating in between himself.

"Mom is the worst choice; she will kill me with all of her questions. I cannot even imagine it" she shivers thinking about her next encounter with her own mother.

"I wonder where she is busy at seeing she has not called even once after the last time" Gio wonders as he picks up the plates when they both finished.

Engel cleans the table before helping Gio cleaning the plates.

"I am sure she is busy in something, we all know she finds something every time she turns around...

This whole universe is her play ground and she is always on a treasure hunt" Engel shrugs her shoulder as she talks about her mother.

"True, so did you check with UT for your check up?" he asks drying the plates.

"Umm-hmm, she will be here for the check up in few days, she wants to see how long I can stay awake on my own...

Seeing I have managed to not fall down for more than two days unannounced our mating may have succeeded, what do you think?" she asks nodding her head.

"We can only hope, let's pray for the best" he smiles.

"Don't worry"

"I cannot help it," he whispers.

"Come on, I think we both should call it a night we can worry about everything tomorrow" she smiles pulling his hands as she walks with him behind her to their room.
