Adriana as always waits for Devilin outside of his apartment; she has been coming in here for two days straight but no sign of him.

She sighs again as she gets up from the bench she has been sitting right across from her mate's apartment. She just wish this would be her lucky night and he will finally say yes to go on a date with her because it was a bit tiresome and humiliating to ask him again and again only for him to not show up while she stays the whole night alone in the restaurant.

Her eyes twinkles as she sees Devilin's car stopping in front of the gate, dusting off her dress and looking at her reflection, Adriana makes her way across the road.

After a bit of struggle at crossing the road she finally reaches the other side, walking with determination Adriana takes confident steps inside the elevator.

Thinking this is the first time she will go to her mate's room, she feels the rush of excitement in her body. An unfamiliar voice calls for her to stop the elevator so she does. The woman does not even acknowledge her existence as she pushes the button of the same floor Adriana plans to go to. She silently stands behind the woman before checking the woman out, as she has no other thing to do.

The woman standing in front of her is pretty with her white as milk skin tone and her flaming red hair, which reminds her of Ariel the mermaid. Her amusement stops with the stop of the elevator, the woman rushes out of the elevator as if the hounds from hell are behind her and just for her own amusement Adriana turns to check if there is any in the same elevator before she slowly walks out.

She keeps looking on the door numbers, as she has never been in here before. Adriana feels a bit nervous imagining the reaction of her mate seeing her standing in front of his door and cannot stop the giggle that leaves her mouth.

Just as she turns she sighs in relief seeing Devilin standing shirtless in front of his door, she smiles and goes to call his name when all of a sudden she notices the woman with red flaming hair jump in his arms.

"Air, what is it, baby?" he asks worry laced in his voice, hugging her to him tightly.

"Let's mate Dev" she states while jumping in his arms halting all the thoughts as well as breathes of Adriana.

She gulps praying he will push her away or waiting for them to laugh and say you are punked!

However, no such thing happens as Devilin kisses her smack down on her lips and carries the woman in his arms inside his home slamming the door with the back of his foot on the way.

Adriana stands just a few feet away from her mate's door, juggling between whether to turn back or banging on his door asking him for an explanation but eventually she turns and leaves.

Walking out of the elevator with heavy heart Adriana does not feel like to do anything, she remembers all of the encounters between them. And now that the truth of him cheating on her even if they weren't in a real relation opens her contact lens eyes.

She berates herself for not seeing all of those signs from the beginning, how he ran away from her the first time they met at the elevator or the many times he ditched her on their date night which only she initiated, how he never called her even if she left her number numerous times for him and with him.

In addition, how he really tried to ignore her in crowds and now that she saw with her own eyes that he was with someone else, she feels nothing but a fool.

Not watching where she was walking Adriana ends up crashing with the housekeeper, she apologizes profusely before helping the woman up.

"I'm so sorry, I wasn't watching where I was going" Adriana apologizes repeatedly helping the woman to pick all the things that was sprawled on the floor.

Adriana stops as she sees a familiar box wrapped in a shining paper before she picks it up and checks it.

"What...where did you get this from?" she asks stumped before she opens the black plastic bag and search inside to find more and more of the gifts as well as all the chocolates along with all those flowers she remember giving to her mate.

"Please put that bag back miss," the woman asks snapping Adriana's attention towards her

"Who gave you this?" she asks

"Oh, I found it in the garbage bag in one of the apartments I was cleaning and the man who resides there didn't want it I guess, so I took it" the lady sheepishly explains dreading that she will get fired if she is caught.

"Oh...Ho...that...oh my god... Do you know how much all of this stuff costs? These, they are...and he...garbage" Adriana finds it hard to breathe as the reality of everything comes crashing to her stupid conscience.

"Miss, miss" the lady asks as she smiles nervously before she continues

"Can you please not say anything about this to anyone, I will be fired if..." but Adriana doesn't stop to listen as she leaves everything to the lady even the gifts she brought with her and gets out of that place as soon as she can.

Rom was in middle of a meeting when he gets a message that Adriana was back in HP. Therefore, wrapping the meeting as soon as he can, he walks towards the building with meaningful steps.

"Officer Rain" a voice commands from the other side of the intercom making Adriana groan in misery.

"No it's Loki, now bow down to me" she replies begrudgingly opening her eyes.

"Rom is coming your way, its better if you wake up soon," Andrew announces ignoring her comment.

"Don't let him in; I'm not even cute yet!" Adriana cries in panic as soon as she hears it jumping up from the floor she has been using as her bed for the past few hours.

"Serves you right for playing all those awful songs," Andrew mutters before disconnecting the line just as Rom bangs on her door.

"Good morning, Raine" Rom shouts at the top of his lungs making her wince.

"Jeez a bit louder, I don't think they heard you in Atlanta," she grumbles rubbing her eyes trying to fix her hair.

"Blonde, wow you never cease to amaze me. A bloody blonde hair Adriana, wasn't having it Blue enough!" he scolds her as he looks around the room and shakes his head at the condition as all he can see is box and box of pizzas and ice creams.

"Chill would you, it wasn't my fault if those evil twins keep playing around with my stuff and anyway it is way better than blue" she points out before moving towards the bathroom.

"Okay, I get it that the boys are playing around with your hair stuff but what about these clothes? When did you start to wear these... these short dresses?" he asks folding his arms and tapping his foot on the floor waiting for her explanation.

"The last time I checked I could wear anything I wanted" she grumbles as she brushes her teeth.

"Yes that was last time, not now as you see you are back to the faculty and under my watch and command so I have to refrain you from wearing those sultry clothes...

God damn who even gave you these dresses?" he asks shaking his head at her exasperated.

"If we are really doing this then I may as well have breakfast along with your lectures, gosh I feel like I'm back in high school" she pushes past him to the main room before asking someone to bring her some breakfast.

"Yes, we may as well order dinner in as because I really have a long list of things to discuss with you," he demands before sitting in front of her.

"Now, first and foremost why you were in summer pack's ground?" he asks making her groan in frustration.

"I did come back alive, didn't I?" she states meekly.

"That's not the point, we didn't know where you were for a whole week not until someone tracked the credit card you used, do you even know how much trouble we will be in if the authorities found out that you were the girl with Jasmine that day?" he asks serious all of a sudden.

"But no one knows and I don't think they even remember me, it's been what two years already and anyway I didn't even give my real name to her...

Don't you think me going there was a plus after all we solved the mystery behind who killed the pack" she defends herself knowing well that she was safe.

"That's not the case Adriana, no one will question what you do for us, but it was reckless of you to go out on your own, all alone, just because you felt like it"

"I just wanted to be on my own before I took my place in here because I knew I wouldn't be able to be normal"

"Forget about it then, let's talk about now. Where were you for the last two months?"

"What...you can't just ask me that, I was on vacation and I deserved that"

"Slow down, I know you were on vacation, a vacation you had without asking anyone but that's not the point right now as what I want to know is where this vacation of yours was spent? Because trust me this is the only one you will ever have"

"What, you can't do that"

"I bloody well can and I am. Who the fuck spends 10 million on two months vacation!" Rom roars making her feel small as she slumps a bit in her seat.

"That was my..."

"Not a word from your mouth, Adriana. That much money isn't a joke" Rom fumes at her stupidity

"Just tell me one thing and one thing only, what the fuck were you doing, to spend that big of an amount of money?" he asks trying hard not to loose his control.

"Fine cut it from my salary then, oh wait...I don't have money on me because I don't get a salary in here as I work for free" Adriana shouts on his face stunning him as well as all the by standers watching everything on going.

"You are grounded" he finalizes not knowing what else to say.

"Go ahead and do it as if I give a shit. For all I care ground me for the rest of my life as it has been ruined" she cries holding the front of his shirt and screaming at the top of her lungs.

"Hold yourself together, you cannot talk with me like this" Rom scolds the girl as he pushes her away from him and she lands on the ground with a thud.

"Jerks, all men are jerks throwing me around as if I meant nothing" she sniffs as she keeps staring at the floor.

"Rain, what is wrong with you?" Rom asks with a sigh as this is not the way she ever behaves no matter how many times he wanted to strangle her for her smart mouth.

"Listen, I will take care of you even being in the summer's pack no one has to know just tell me where exactly did you spent those ten million?" Rom asks her carefully.

"I'm sorry" is all he gets as an answer.

When she doesn't elaborate her doings and just stares at the floor Rom realizes that whatever she did she won't tell a soul about it nor will anyone find any dirt on her as he is sure she had already swept it off the face of the earth.

"Fine, be your stubborn self then because trust me you will work your ass off in here and will work until I say so, no more vacation, lurking around or messing around. Only lord knows where you spent that money and what more damage you will do if I let you do what you please," he sighs shaking his head before getting up.

"Don't pout, I'm doing this for your own sake and I want your hair back to your original color which is black and shiny by the end of the week" he orders as he walks away leaving a sad Adriana on the floor.

"Wow, 10 million, Go atta girl" Andrew's voices making her wince as she realizes that the whole faculty just heard her encounter with Rom the only think she is thankful for is that she didn't confess how she came to spend such an amount of money on a guy who didn't even give a damn about her.

"Shut up, you rat" she hisses getting up as she knows it was him who told Rom about the summer pack's incident as he was the one that came for her rescue that night scaring her to death before she realized it was him.

However, the idiot had not let her explain that she was not alone before he pushed the nerve on the back of her ear and she lost consciousness.

When she was awake the first thing she did was find out as much about the summer pack so she could help her friend after pulling out the footage from the store Jasmine went to the night they met and she got the proof enough to send a rescue team into that pack.

That was by far the best and worst things she had done, as that was the fateful day she saw her mate, it was strange how she immediately felt the connection with him even if she did not touch or see him up close and personal, as if something inside of her remembered and realized it was him and that he was all hers.

That was the reason she was so scared to meet him because even if she felt the connection with him just by watching his pictures. She was worried, what if it was some stupid crush she had on him and there was the possibility that they were not mates even if she felt differently.

However, the moment they touched and she felt the shock she was so happy and for a moment, all the things she did to get close to him, paid.

Those gifts that he didn't even opened, those chocolates he didn't even taste or those flowers he didn't even acknowledged cost her a fortune.

Those gifts even expensive she did not even blink an eye when she purchased them thinking about the smile he will throw her way when he opened it but that never came still she didn't loose hope.

She had Googled every one of the things she gave him; two years she had prepared to meet him, planned everything how she would woo him as she had watched most of the men in the faculty do with their mates and she knew she would woo her mate and make him the happiest person in the world.

For two years, she had read each article on the internet that told her about what to do and not to in a relation, or when you are courting someone, even if, she was the woman in the relation she wanted her man to feel important and special, oh, how wrong she was.

Every time he rejected her, she ignored it thinking if only positive things and defending him just so she could hang onto that one thread of hope, so her heart will not, be crushed, but it did at the end anyway.

Now, she was broke, grounded and in a building full of males who will not let her forget her humiliation from the horrible day she has just had. Now it was time, to put an end to her dream fairytale and to get back to reality, back to being Rain the nerd tech, their go to girl.
