A knock on the door makes Gio turn around to find his little baby sis standing on the door munching on her chocolate bar.

"Where you heading?" she asks curiously seeing him all dressed up

"Where do you think?" he asks back smiling before pulling his jacket on

"Ah, Engel" she grins before jumping on his bed

"You will get fat if you keep eating so much" he comments at the same time as her

"Who cares" she shrugs not worrying much about her weight

"Well what if your mate does?" he winks as he goes to pull one of his wristwatches from the drawer

"What do they say? Hmm...more cushion for push on" she giggles before throwing her hands up in surrender when her brother glares her way

"Behave" Gio warns as he sits down on his bed and ruffles his sister's hair

"Bro, when are you going to be free?" she asks staring at his legs as he ties his shoelaces

"Why, is there any where you need to be?" he asks a bit distracted

"Yes, I need to go shopping. I'm starting my duties in few days so" she answers smiling his way as he raise a brow at that

"You just arrived here like two days ago and already back to work?" he looks at her dumbfound

"The sooner I get back to work the better. I'm actually helping Eric on finding the cure for Engel," she informs stopping him mid air as he tries to get up

"UT" Gio sighs not wanting his sister to stress much as if her being a doctor is not stressful enough

"Let me do this bro, no matter what we won't be able to stop worrying about both of you and I can see her behavior is starting to hurt all of you...

And if I being in the team with Eric will help to speed up things I will do it and anyway family comes first no matter what" shrugging her shoulder she throws the wrapper of the bar in dustbin in his room

"Who gave you the right to grow up?" Gio sighs pulling her into his arms not knowing what else to say

"Mother nature?" she jokes enjoying his bear hug

"Don't worry about me, I'm a big guy. Take some rest for now, when I'm back we can go for your shopping" he hugs her tightly thankful before pushing her towards the door

"Okay well best of luck for breaking the ice queen" UT leaves with her departing words making Gio just shake his head before he pulls his car keys and leave the house.

Bracing for what has to come once he sees his mate, Gio walks in just in time to dodge the chair thrown his way.

"What the hell are you doing?" Gio asks as he finds the living room in chaos

"Throwing a tantrum before my mate gets here," Erika explains as she pushes her hair away and waves at Gio

"And why is that?" he asks cautiously as he walks inside the house

"Oh nothing new, just my daily sexual frustration and all that, you must be here for sleeping beauty?

She is upstairs," she groans as she picks the table and goes to crash it but Gio takes that away from her easily

"Seriously Eri, this isn't funny anymore" Gio scolds her before pulling her away from the destruction she had done and making her sit on the couch which she successfully didn't break

"My thoughts exact, this stuff is not funny anymore. Enzo hardly gives me the time of day. My daughter hates me, I do not even know where my son is right now, and it is not so much fun to bully twins' twins...

I have nothing much to do, my life has been so doomed from the beginning, why did I grow up" she wails on Gio's shoulder making his rub her back soothingly

"First, no one hates you okay, neither Enzo, Engel or anyone who knows you. Second, the thing regarding Enzo, I am sure if you two sit down and talk this through without you trying to strangle him, it will solve...

As for Eric, I will make sure to look out for him, know where he has been situated, and bring him back as soon as I can. Though even I want to know what is going on with Engel, so just buckle up and be a bit braver like the woman I know you are...

Everything will be all right, okay. Now, let me see my Eri's charming smile" wiping her tears he tries to assure her

"You are so good, Gio. I wish sleeping beauty would realize and not be a bitch to you," she pouts as she wipes her snots on his jacket making him groan

"Don't groan I still haven't forgiven you for peeing on me. And, don't you dare forget I was the one wiping your stinky ass when you were kid" hitting him hard on the back of his head she reminds him

"Okay, fine, fine" Gio surrenders getting up from the couch and walking to their kitchen to get her a glass of juice

"I am not a kid" folding her arms she refuses to take the drink making him chuckle

"Yes, we all know you are just a bit grown up now drink as this is the only thing you will get from me. Lord knows what will happen if you get drunk" looking around the room he points out

"Oh don't worry this is nothing compared to what I have done to his study" she grins gulping on the glass

"You are unbelievable" he sighs before leaving her to see his mate.

Engel looks up from her seat to find Gio standing in the door watching her; she just stares at him for a while before turning to look out of the window.

"Is she done havocking the house?" Engel asks when he does not say anything

"Not truly, I stopped her in mid way to it" he grins cheekily as he walks in the room and stands next to her

"So, missed me?" he asks cheerfully when she ignores him

"Will you leave me alone if I leave you alone?" she asks instead still staring out of the window

Gio holds her shoulder and turn her around to face him as he kneels in front f her.

"Never, even if you don't miss me, I do miss you and all those times we used to spend together...

I miss being us not just I or you," he confesses as he stares in her eyes searching for something that was long ago gone

"You are wasting your time searching for something there is not," she states getting away from his reach but Gio holds her arm and stops her

"Talk to me, I hate this between us. It has been so long, you do not smile anymore nor do you share...

But, I'm here for you, us anything you want to all you need to do is reach" he pleads for her to give them a go

"I don't want to share nor do I want to reach. Just leave me alone Gio, save both of us the trouble" she replies tired of having the same talk everyday

"That's is something I can never let happen, push me as much as you want I'm not leaving your side not till I take my last breath" he vows leaving her alone for the time being as he can't handle her cold behavior towards him for the day

Gio drives away from Engel's house hurt evident in his eyes; he keeps clenching and unclenching his fists on the wheels as the urge to break something rises.

When his anger subsides, he finally stops his car to pick the phone ringing repeatedly.

"Dad" he answers taking a long breath

"So, what's up? You and UT, coming up for the dinner right" Rom's excitedly voices from the other side of the phone

"Damn, the family dinner, I totally forgot about it. However, before that I need to take UT for her shopping...

Oh, did you know she was going to join Eric?" he asks as he remembers his talk with his sister this morning

"Oh yes, about that, what can I do she never listens to me I guess I spoiled her more than I can handle...

I thought after medical school she would like to chill and be home for a while but that is not her thing...

We can discuss all about this at the dinner, got to go helping Ana" he informs before cutting the line making him chuckle

Therefore, after talking with his father he drives back home to get his sister for her much needed shopping before they all head to their parents home.

"Mom, dad" UT calls out as she puts the bags on the table as she walks towards the kitchen looking for them

"UT, baby girl" Rom exclaims as he hugs her tight

"So, what's for dinner?" she asks as she hugs her mother as well

"Food, lots and lots of food" Rom grins proudly as he takes his daughter out of the kitchen to living room

"Hey dad" Gio greets as he goes to hug his father squeezing UT between them

"Gross, you two" she yelps pushing both the males away from her as they laugh at her

"I see you were busy" Rom points towards the bags making Gio shrug

"It wasn't so bad" he points out taking a seat

"You really have the patience of a saint, who in their right mind goes shopping with a girl?" Ana states as she walks in carrying drinks for her kids

"Mom" Gio smiles as he pecks her cheeks lovingly and takes the drink she offered

"Trust me mom, bro is so much better to go shopping with he doesn't whine just let's me take as much time as I want...

No wonder, he still is hanging onto Engel for so long" UT grins sipping on her drink

"Wait till you have a mate then we will see how you will hang on" Gio pinches her cheeks making her groan

"Whatever" she waves him off as she goes to watch the T.V.

"Are we waiting on Jean as well?" Gio asks, as his parents make no move to feed them

"No, they won't be joining us tonight" Ana informs him but Gio still looks her way for more explanation

"Your father invited the Antonio's," she adds with a smile

"Dad" Gio asks now staring at him father for explanation

"I was just missing tiger," he states on his defense

"And it seems you are the only one who misses me now a days" Erika's voice drifts to them

"Welcome" Rom cheers getting up before he drags everyone to the dining table without letting them finish their greetings

Gio pulls Engel's chair out for her before he settles down next to her. As soon as everyone settles down Ana starts to serve the dinner.

While both Enzo and Rom jumps in, to talk about their work the women just shake their head at their mates each before smiling at each other politely.

While eating his own meal Gio keeps checking if Engel needs anything and that only annoys her.

"Will you cut it out, if I need anything I will get it or ask" she hisses holding his hand as he goes to serve her

Gio nods not saying anything before they both goes back to eat in silence.

"So, how's life Engel?" Rom asks as he clears his throat

"Fine" she answers before going back to eating

"Why do you guys even try I have no clue?" Erika sighs as she rolls her fork around before she looks Towards UT

"Anyway I heard you will be soon working with Eric is that true?" she asks the girl who nods in reply

"Great, when you meet him inform him that I have sold his room and no need to come back" she smiles making UT raise a brow in confusion

"Um...okay?" she states looking around the table not knowing what else to say to her

"Wow, talk about awkwardness in here" Erika comments as no one tries to start any kind of conversation and like everyone she too keeps eating her food.

After a dreadful dinner, Gio walks out along with Engel and her family to say their goodbyes and he sadly watches them get in the car and leave.

"Wow, Aunt Erika was right that was the most awkward dinner ever. Jeez, I feel so bad for you bro" UT comments as soon as they go back inside the home.

"Yes, the strain between Enzo and Erika is so palpable. They didn't even say a word to each other whole night," Ana adds as she looks at Rom who rubs the back of his neck

"I guess they are loosing their spark," he states with a sigh

"Loosing, they don't have a spark. I cannot believe I have to see the day where they both would be like this...

I wonder what went wrong between them." Ana asks as she walks to the kitchen to clean the utensils while Rom follows her

"They will be fine, I hope" Rom wishes helping Ana with the dishes

Gio listens to his parents before taking a seat on the couch thinking back to the dinner, it was true the strain between Enzo and Erika was getting worse and if this keeps going soon they will loose themselves.

He rubs his face tiredly not knowing what else to do as he was not getting anywhere with his own mate.

It seems he is not the only one having problems with their mate and he needs to do something before both Erika and he loose their mates as it seems their mates aren't trying to make the relation strong or keep it going on.

The spark needs to be back and for that, he will have to think of a solution and fast
