《The Bodyguard》| chapter - 10 |

I walked towards him as slowly as possible trying to breathe normally. And though I see him like every freaking second, I was nervous right now.
"And you said I couldn't find you." Was the first thing he said.
"You trapped me into coming," I answered getting immediately defensive.
He stared at me for a while making me even more anxious.
"God, you are beautiful!" He murmured more like a thought to himself.
It was weirdly wonderful to hear him say that.
"Why are you here Prince, if my father saw you it will be scandalous." I gave him a coy smile that was so not me.
"I am here to meet you. I can't get you out of my head." He stated with an intense gaze.
But somehow I found it kind of funny.
"One hit on the head might do the trick." I murmured to myself.
He thought I was just shy.
"Care for a walk Princess?" He asked courteously.
"It would be better if we returned to our quarters." I was already getting anxious.
He just came forward and took my hand in his. My heart thumping really fast.
"Your Kingdom is on the top right now." He said slightly awkward.
Was he nervous as well?
"Someone awesome is representing is now," I said, proud of myself.
"We will see." I detected a tone of jealousy and was immensely amused.
So I decided to have some fun to ease myself since he was still holding my hand.
"He is dashing and witty as well." I lied, feeling excited.
His gaze hardened and he became stiff letting go off my hand. I held back my laughter.
"I am sure he is just a pretty playboy" His tone was cold now.
"I don't think so. He treats me well."
"So is he your partner for the dance tonight?" He was angry and I was successful.
"I am not going ,I am tired."
"You have to come because I don't think I can survive that boring party without you." He said sincerely again affecting my heart.
"Please Prince, you will many princesses dying for your attention." I smiled slyly at him.
"And I am looking for just your attention." His low tone made something turn in my gut.

"You are a smooth flirt Prince. I bet this doesn't come without practice." Guys with good looks like him are guaranteed to be playboys.
"I haven't met someone like you." He said.
"Someone who doesn't fall at your feet." I mocked him.
"Someone who could make me go to the extent of desiring a win and the crown." He looked in my eyes not sure what emotions floored in his.
It was like he was letting me see the true emotions through them.
My cheeks and neck heated up under his gaze and I looked away. Suddenly he took my hand and placed it on his heart which was beating as erratically as mine.
"It should not be like that. I should be calm and collected." He said looking at me intently.
I was speechless so I just blinked and gulped.
Suddenly some voice in quarters broke the atmosphere and I stepped away trying to breathe.
"Well, I should get going Prince,." I said feeling weak in my legs.
"Why, your warrior might see us." He teased with an edge to his tone.
He was jealous of me, the male me more than I thought he will be.
"We are just friends," I said in an ambiguous tone.
"If you are trying to make me jealous Princess, it is working quite well." His honesty was disarming.
But before I could walk away some people dressed in green robes and clothes covering their faces jumped around us and within seconds we were surrounded by men with weapons. Prince looked around expecting his bodyguard to show up but of course he can't.
I had to protect him as Alisha now.
As soon as they charged I saw with proud feeling Prince handle them without any weapon and snatch a sword from one. I did the same and killed mercilessly anyone who walked towards the Prince. I was like a shield between him and the attackers and it felt good to do that.
We fought those men together and within few minutes some were dead and some were gone. Elias was right, he was always in danger and needed me around desperately. Before more can come I decided we should leave.
"Go now Prince. I will see you soon." That was true and sooner that he expected.

"How can I leave you alone when there are attackers." He said in a grave tone.
"You know very well I can protect myself."
He nodded after a thought and started walking away but not before he turned to look at me billion times making me realise that this Prince was affecting me deeply and badly.
***
Before he could reach his quarters I stood there in guards outfit waiting for him and with an excuse.
"I handled some attackers outside the quarter's border." Lie obviously.
He nodded with a grim face.
"How was the date?" I asked casually before he could ask me questions.
"What?"
"Meeting, how was the meeting?" I asked in a clearer term.
"She is lovestruck on some fool." Angered poured in his words.
"I told you, you should forget about her."
"Are you on my side Arthur?"
"Till me last breath Highness." I stifled my laugh.
"Once I will defeat him in some match she will see I am better."
"Sure," I added just for his sake.
"And now that I was have met her again, I don't think I will lose her to anyone." His tone held determination.
He can't feel this way for me, I am not from this time and I will return to my father. But the thought was like a dull ache in my heart.
"And you should see her with weapons, she is lethal Arthur. Maybe that is her charm and she talks somewhat like you." He smiled at the memory.
"In a man voice?" I asked in a bored tone.
"No, in sarcastic remarks." Sarcasm was probably Prince's type then.
"Can I sleep now that you are skipping the dance?" I asked hoping that he would skip the dance.
"I can't skip, I will just show my face and come back."
So I had to follow him to that God awfully boring party. Did they not invent K-pop in 1735?
Many people carefully eyed me but my icy glare towards them sent a silent threat message. Prince shook hands and smiled through the crowds and even rude comments and taunts of some people. There were very few he hugged and gave his signature bone-melting smile to the present princess but never should some real interest to anyone.
Suddenly someone placed his hand on Prince's shoulder and I went on hyper alert.
"Step down Prince, you will not last long on King's throne." The man was in his mid-thirties and his robe was official.
He was some minister from out kingdom, another King follower.
"These threats are now getting old and boring." Prince gave me an arrogant smile he had for few evil ones to show that he was strong.
"This time we have someone to motivate you." This got Prince's attention.
"I don't have someone I love to lose." But his eyes held the lie clear for me to see.
"Just in case we were hiding your mother in the dungeon." Elias blanched and I felt my heart constrict.
"Now let Norman win in the next tournament and everything will be fine."
"Did you tell Norman that?" He asked looking shaken up.
I gripped his upper arm for support and he inhaled sharply as if getting his senses together.
"He follows you like a fool, he doesn't see what is right for his future." The minister said and I realized I needed to keep an eye on this one.
"I will thin..." I am pretty sure Prince was about to say I will think about it.
But before I could I stepped closer to the vile man and placed a dagger on his throat alerting almost everyone in the vicinity.
"Arthur." Came Elias' furious whisper.
"Listen you bastard, you don't mess with Prince right before his bodyguard. I will slit your throat even before you can blink." He was scared like crazy now.
"Killing me will do no good. There are many who support the present King." He uttered with difficulty, sweating now.
I smirked even though he can't see that he might have seen the danger in my eyes.
"And do you think I will restrain killing from anyone who will harm him?" I felt damn protective of the Prince more than a bodyguard should be.
I pushed away the minister not killing him in the crowd.
He looked flabbergasted and scared as hell.
"Let's go Highness before I end up killing someone," I said and Prince started walking too shocked to react.
