《Explosive Thoughts | Charles Xavier [1] ✔︎》05 | The Wonders of Memory

The man who was mad enough to try and stop a metal submarine was called Erik Lehnsherr. Apparently he could manipulate metal but Evie didn't realise that it caused the man to be a little thick headed. Yeah, she didn't exactly have a good first impression of the guy not that she really cared. Charles seemed to trust him so automatically she trusted him. It was a flawed way of thinking, Evie knew that.
With a small jump forward, the sleek black car stopped outside of a building. The man in the black suit (Evie still hadn't caught his name) had told them it was apart of the CIA. Evie hadn't seen it before.
Like a curious cat, Evie glanced around the outside of the building, practically analyising every inch of it. Men walked around, carrying brief cases filled with classified documents. As Evie's gaze came back to the front of the building, she noticed how large it actually was.
"Welcome to my facility." The man stated as he motioned for the group to walk forward. "My mission has been to investigate the application of paranormal powers in military defense." He explained.
"Or offense." Erik added, his head strong attitude showing through.
The suit looked to Evie and Moira who shrugged in response. It seemed that Erik's presence through him off slightly. "This guy Shaw, Schmidt, whatever you want to call him - he's working with the Russians. We might need your help to stop him."
"Marvelous." Charles commented as he placed his hands in his pockets. "So we are to be the CIA's new mutant division, yes?"
"Something like that." He responded with a side glance.
It was obvious he didn't trust them and Evie could really fault them. Charles could literally control his mind, who was to say he wasn't doing it already. He had every right to fear them but that fear could turn him against them. Evie didn't know how to quell it.
They were shown up the stairs to an open area with a model of a plane in the middle. The brunette lent causally on the rails behind her, studying the model in awe. Charles watched from the corner of his eye, watching her own eyes light up and a small smile pull on her lips. Her small, shy smile was adorable in his eyes.
"It's supersonic." A shy male voice spoke up. The attention of everyone went to the young man who was stood awkwardly a few steps away from them. "The most advanced plane ever built. You should see it in real life. It's incredible." He explained, a shy smile on his lips as he did so.
"Hank, these are the special new recruits I was telling you about." The suit introduced them with a smile. Hank nodded at all of them, Evie sending him a small wave in response. "This is Hank McCoy, one of our talented young researchers."
"How wonderful, another mutant already here." Charles smiled as he walked forward to shake Hank's hand. "Why didn't you say?"
The man in black furrowed his brows in confusion. "Say what?"
Realisation hit Charles as he looked back to the young man, regret in his eyes. "Because you don't know. I am so, so terribly sorry."
"Hank?" The guy question in confusion, his eyes filling up with an emotion Evie couldn't quite place.
Hank shrugged. "You didn't ask, so I didn't tell." Evie smiled slightly at the words, knowing she'd say the same thing to Moira when her secret was eventually spilled.

"So, your mutation is what?" Raven questioned as she stepped forward, her appearance catching the eyes of Hank who suddenly froze. "You're super smart?"
"I'll say." Charles chuckled as he looked to his sister. "Hank here graduated Harvard at the age of 15." He praised with a smile.
"I wish that all it was." Hank admitted as he scratched his neck awkwardly.
"You're among friends now, Hank. You can show off." The telepath encouraged him as Evie arrived at his side, curiosity bubbling over. Reluctantly, Hank stepped out of his shoes and pulled his socks off. Once revealed, Evie's brows shot up in shock. Instead of normal feet, Hank had two mutated feet, they looked like another pair of hands.
"Woah." Evie whispered to herself as she watched him walk around. Without putting any effort into it, Hank jumped and attached himself to the model plane. He hung upside off it, his glasses falling slightly off his face.
Evie laughed in awe as she stared at him in, a childlike smile on her lips. "That is so cool." She commented.
"Ta-da." Hank smiled nervously.
Night had quickly fallen on the facility. The man in a suit told everyone that they would start looking for more mutants the next day seeing as they had been up to so much in the past day. That's how Evie and Charles found themselves outside, walking next to each other.
They chatted about the most useless things, simply enjoying each other's presences for a while. For Evie, Charles brought a sense of calm and reassurance to her life. It was like everything was going to be okay around him and it allowed her to relax slightly. It felt nice to relax after so many years.
To Charles, Evie was a mystery but he welcomed the challenge. He was a naturally curious person but Evie only spiked that. She was like a book with a lock on it and he was desperate to find the key. Yet, she brought a sense of adventure to his life, something he didn't know he need. After so many years of living and studying, the sense of adventure was what he needed.
For some reason, this CIA building had a garden and it was really nice. It had large hedges with roses and thorns sticking out of them. The white pebbles seemed like little pieces of the moon that glowed above them and led all the way through it. It was peaceful and it was nice.
"You're mutation, how does it work?" Evie asked out of the blue as the two arrived at the end of the path.
Charles paused his steps slightly, his brows raising. "You think I'm going to tell you about my powers when you haven't even told me what yours are."
"You show me yours, I'll show you mine." Evie stated, stopping in front of the man, placing her hands in her pockets.
"Well, I don't really know what else I can show you." Charles admitted as he thought. Evie watched as silently stood there. His eyes widened as an idea popped into his head. "There is one thing, do you mind?" He asked as he brought his two fingers up to his head.
Evie raised her brows in disbelief. "You want to go through my head?" She clarified, shock evident in her voice.
"I won't do it without your permission." He reassured her, sensing her growing distress. "Is there something you don't want me to see?"

"Yeah, a lot." She scoffed, running her hand though her hair, her eyes dropping to the floor. She really didn't want him going through her head, there was so much cluttered together and most of it was secrets she didn't want to be released.
Charles seemed to sense her dilemma so he spoke up in the softest tone. "Trust me."
The brunette looked up, her gaze meeting his and she gave him a small smile. "Okay."
The minute Charles activated his powers, Evie could feel it. It was like another person was in her head or standing extremely close to her, practically breathing down her neck. It took Charles a few seconds to find what he wanted and brought it to the surface. A memory that was buried in the subconscious.
Two girls were running in the high yellow, grass that surrounded the woods. Their smiles were as bright as the sun, the colours of the summer dancing on the gentle breeze that surrounded them. Giggles and laughs filled the air as the two young children chased after each other in the empty field.
"Jemma! Wait up!" Evie's voice rang out, her small feet trying to keep up with her friend's. Her brown hair was let lose and flowed behind her as she ran, the sun casting her shadow below her.
Jemma looked over her shoulder, her green eyes glowing like emeralds in the day's light. Her blonde hair curled gently and bounced when she ran, a childish grin on her lips. The blonde stopped suddenly which made Evie crash into her, both of them toppling over.
Unluckily for them, Jemma stopped right next to a hill. The two girls were sent rolling down it, their bodies tangling in each other as they screamed. When they hit the floor, Jemma was hovering over Evie, her green eyes wide as she stared at her friend. An uncontrollable laugh was emitted from her mouth which caused Evie to laugh as well.
"You're my friend, right?" Evie questioned her, her voice wavering and unsure.
Jemma gave her a sweet smile, picking a small daisy from the ground next to them and place it in her brown hair. "Of course!" The blonde reassured her in a strong tone. "Nothing will change that."
Evie was pulled out of the memory and a small tear fell from her eye. She quickly whipped it away, Charles removing his fingers from his head, empathy in his eyes. "Woah, I didn't even know I had that."
"Memory can be a wondrous thing." Charles told her, placing his hands in his pockets.
The agent sighed, knowing what she had to do now. It was only fair but it didn't stop her from doing it reluctantly. Instead of telling him, she figured showing Charles would be more effective. Evie bent down and picked up a few pebbles from the floor. She clasped the in her hands and held them tightly.
Charles watched in curiosity as she stood up again. She opened her hand, showing the white pebbles were glowing orange. Evie tossed them into the air away from them. Once they were air born, they exploded. The pebbles reduced to nothing more then white sparkles that fell slowly to the ground.
"Your mutation is incredible." Charles told her, his eyes still on where she had thrown them.
Evie gritted her teeth as she thought about it. "Tell that to the people it's harmed." She replied harshly before walking away, leaving the English man all alone.

The next morning came rather quickly. After another restless nights sleep and a truck full of Coffee, Evie was ready for the day. Well, not exactly. Charles has brought up an old memory that Evie didn't want to remember, she was practically pulling her hair out trying to forget it. However, she couldn't dwell on it. The past was the past.
Raven was the one to come and get her in the morning, Moira wasn't allowed in the area they were going to. Mutants only apparently. Let's just say Moira wasn't happy when she saw Evie walking with them. Erik and Hank wanted to question it but the answer was quite self-explanatory. Evie Dalton was a mutant, plain and simple.
"I call it Cerebro as in the Spanish for 'brain'." Hank explained as Evie looked around the satellite. All the technology was impressive and she wasn't smart enough to figure out what it all meant. "Okay, so, uh, the electrodes connect Charles to the transmitter on the roof. When he picks up a mutant, his brain sends a signal through a relay, and then coordinates of their location are printed out here."
Charles stepped onto the podium and placed the helmet on his head, making sure it was on properly. Evie lent her arms on the rails, her hands dangling slightly as she watched with amusement in her eyes.
"You designed this?" Raven questioned the young man in awe and disbelief.
Hank nodded. "Yeah."
"What an adorable lab rat you make, Charles." Erik observed in a playful tone as he rounded the machine.
"Don't spoil this for me, Erik." Charles huffed however his tone was just as playful. Evie watched the exchanges between them like it was an sitcom show.
"Oh, I've been a lab rat. I know one when I see one." Erik replied, his smirk growing as they stared at each other for a moment.
"God, stop eye-sexing each other." Evie spoke up making the two men look at her. A teasing smile was on her lips as she looked between the two. "Make out already."
"Hilarious." Charles exclaimed sarcastically as Erik walked off the platform. The brunet stared at Evie for a few moments trying to figure what the look in her eye was. Evie stared right back. However, the little staring match had created a tension between the two, a tension Erik picked up on immediately.
"Who's eye-sexing now?" He questioned her in amusement, keeping his voice low as he stood next to her. Evie sent him a small glance, breaking her gaze with Charles only to glare at him.
"Okay, great." Hank muttered to himself as he finished turning dials. He jumped up to Charles and looked at him. "Are you sure we can't shave your head?" He asked him.
"Don't touch my hair." Charles snapped at the young man.
Hank nodded awkwardly, a little shocked by the bluntness. "Okay." The young man pressed a few buttons and suddenly a loud noise began to echo around them.
The cap Charles was wearing began to glow, making his eyes blow wide. He gripped the bars that surrounded him, keeping himself upright. Evie's posture straightened as she watched what was going on but what could she do?
"It's working." Hank told everyone with a smile as names and locations began to be typed out of the machine.
Charles let out a laugh, clearly enjoying whatever was going on. Evie just hoped they were doing the right thing.

8 204Quirkless?
As a small child my whole perception of the world changed. I was surrounded by liars and fakes. Humans are such a cruel species, if someone doesn't fit they are cast out. People turn a blind eye to cruelty I've faced, people don't care about the quirkless. Except I'm not quirkless. Far from it. All I can say is my treatment in this world made me strong but cold, bitter and apathetic. I was the only human I could trust, I and I alone. Here is the story of how I ended up in my version of hell, UA. Surrounded by, well you know, just about every single person I couldn't get far enough away from. And an overkill quirk just about everyone wanted a piece of. Yeah I was dealt some pretty shitty cards, now you'll see how I play them.Uploads depend on my schedule but I'll try weekly also error will be made cuz I dotn proof read, when I've finished I'll go over it 😅 The story follows Izuku but if there's a change in povs there will be a indication ⚠️ warning swearing and violence⚠️
