And on that Thursday night, when I got that man's number, I was left in that restaurant, staring at that number. It was a hard decision to make- do I go, or do I just shrug it off and act like it was nothing? But I'm sure I would eventually run into said man yet again. You could tell he was from around this part of Atlanta. Just the thought of blowing him off made me shudder. There was even the slightest possibility of me running into him again sometime soon, and the last thing I wanted to do was run into a man that I had blown off.

"But I've never dated anyone before," I thought. I've never even been on a date. How do I act? What do we talk about? Clearly he had been on a date before so he would know what to talk about, right? But he was the one fearing rejection, so he would leave all of the questions to me. Seems like tonight was going to be a quiet night of us just eating dinner and making weird eye contact every now and then as we attempted to sneak a glance at each other.

On the back of that little slip, however, was also George's number. I sighed in relief as I pulled my phone out and called him. He didn't pick up at first, so I called him again.

"Hello, Allycia," George greets me with a creepily calm voice.

"One; NEVER do that again, and two, how do you know my name?"

"I went back and talked to that waitress."

"You're really going all out for your friend, aren't you?" I questioned, sighing a bit.

"Of course I am. He's a great guy. He likes video games, he's an amazing actor, total Mama's boy, and he's devilishly handsome."

"...I can agree with and/or like three of those things, but the fourth one doesn't really matter to me."

Gerorge just chuckled. "So, you're coming tonight, right?"

I shrugged, "Maybe."

"Allycia, please. This means a lot to him. You're the first girl I've seen him look at in this... certain way."

"Would you like to expand on that last part?" I asked.

"He just has this thing... This thing where when he sees a girl he likes, he can't take his eyes off of her. It's rare, you should feel lucky."

"I don't even know the guy OR you."

"Just, will you be there tonight?" He sighed.

"...fine. But you owe me one, Eads."

He pumped his fist, "Thank you, SO much. And alright, I owe you one."

I hung up and sighed. I might as well give this a shot and actually put effort into it.

I walked to the nearest clothing store. I bought a black dress and some more makeup. I went back to my apartment and put the dress on. George said to dress up, so I did. I did my hair and makeup, and I actually didn't look all that bad. I looked in the mirror for a little while. I sighed. As much as I missed my friends back home, I made a promise that I would never go back to that state, no matter what. After making that promise to myself, I was off at 4:30. I didn't like to be late for things, it made me seem irresponsible.

I walked out of my apartment and, to my dismay, I saw George there, standing by a limo. He was dressed up as a chauffeur.

"I swear to God, George..." I mumbled under my breath. He was going all out for his friend.

Annoyed, I fake smiled at George as he opened the door for me.

I got in the back, and I was greeted by the blondie, smiling brightly at me. I wasn't going to lie though-

He looked pretty good.
