《The Little Mermaid [HAVOK/ALEX SUMMERS] - ON HOLD》six

The next day, we are sat outside the building, after a group of government men had found us. A black car pulls up in front of us and Charles and Erik step out.
"Raven," Charles calls out, jogging over to us before giving Raven a tight hug, Erik following slowly behind. When they pull apart, Charles looks at us all. "We've made arrangements for you to be taken home immediately," he says, my eyes light up at the word 'home' until I remember the situation.
"We're not going home," I blurt out, almost rudely.
"What?" Charles asks taken by surprise.
"He's not going back to prison," Sean then says, looking at Alex, who had been in prison for the past few years before now.
"He killed Darwin," Alex tells Charles, not daring to say Shaw's name.
"All the more reason for you to leave. This is over."
"Darwin's dead, Charles. And we can't even bury him," Raven states, sadness written all over her face. She's right, we can't bury him. Darwin was one of the nicest guys I have ever met and the fact that he died for us makes it harder to deal with. I sure hope Angel is feeling terrible after what she did. We all look down to the ground, grieving our late friend.
"We can avenge him," a voice says to my right. I look up and see Erik, a face I wasn't expecting to hear these words come from. Charles looks at him before asking to speak in private. They take a few steps to the right until we can't hear them, and start discussing whatever it is they need to discuss. We look over to them curiously, before Alex speaks.
"I thought you wanted to go home," he says to me, leaning back into the concrete wall we were sitting up against.
"Yeah, I thought so too until . . . until what Shaw said, to be honest. He's right, there is a revolution coming but it isn't what he thinks. He's not the one revolting, we are; against him. We have a chance to prove ourselves to mankind, and show them that we aren't all bad, and if exposing ourselves is the only way for it to happen then I'm fine with that. It's now or never." I breath out, and Alex nods in understanding.
"I one hundred percent agree. Shaw needs to be stopped an-" he was cut off by Charles, speaking to the group.
"We'll have to train. All of us. Yes?" He says, seriously.
"Yeah," Alex speaks for us all, we nod along.
"Well, we can't stay here. Even if they reopen the department, it's not safe. We've got nowhere to go." Hank then says, unfortunately right, or so I thought.
"Yes, we do."
After gathering our belongings and hours of driving, we reach our final destination: 1407 Graymalkin Lane, Salem Centre, Westchester County, New York; though others would call it 'Charles' house'. It was a big house, probably the biggest I have ever seen, and there were tall fences surrounding it. When we entered the gates, I notice a big pool at the left side of the house, along with lots and lots of grass surrounding it.

When the car reaches the front of the house, Charles turns off the engine of the car and we all step out, staring at the massive mansion.
"This is yours?" Sean asks, squinting his eyes to hide them from the sun. My mouth is gaped open at the thought of living here for the next few weeks.
"No, it's ours," Charles looks at him and we all smile.
"Honestly, Charles. I don't know how you survived, living in such hardship," Erik says sarcastically, causing me to snort quietly. I feel Raven step forward from beside me, and she pushes her way forward to stand beside the two men.
"Well, it was a hardship softened by me," she then says as Charles wraps his arm around her waist and kisses her temple through her hair. She grins, "come on. Time for the tour."
Raven leads the way, as we walk into the entry hall, and directs us to the middle of the room.
"This, ladies and gentlemen, is the entry hall. Those stairs lead up to the second floor, which is where your bedrooms will be. Unfortunately, there are only two rooms with available ensuites seeing as Charles and I have claimed the first two," she pauses as Erik and Sean claim the two rooms before we move on. Raven leads us to the left side of the entry hall, after pointing out the downstairs bathroom, and we walk through a wide archway. "Now, we have arrived at the kitchen. This is where breakfast and lunch will be served every morning, and where you will go if you want food. We will eat dinner in the dining room over here," she then points to the big room next to the kitchen and we enter.
There was a long, rectangular table in the centre of the room, with five chairs on each side, and one at each head. There is two, big double doors at the very back of the room, and we walk through, revealing a big sitting room, which she calls 'the parlour room'. We then walk through a short hallway with paintings on the walls, which leads us to a library and day room. The library had many shelves, covered in books, and the day room had many chairs and tables. The final room on the first floor was Charles' office. It had a wooden desk in the middle, which was bare, but soon to be covered in clutter, and other casual office furniture.
When we reach the entry hall once again, we head upstairs and she shows us or bedrooms. Charles had the biggest bedroom, of course, him having lived in this house his whole life. It was the first door we see when we reach the top of the stairs, and the hallways to the left and right led the way to our bedrooms. We turned left and there were six doors, three on each side of the hall. Raven spread us out and I was left with the bedroom at the far left of the hall, across from the bathroom. Sean's bedroom was beside the bathroom, across from Alex's, and in the middle right of the hall. The laundry was beside that.

Hank and Erik, having chosen the rooms with the ensuites, had bedrooms in the hallway to the right of Charles' room. Both rooms were next to another bathroom, and two extra rooms.
After the tour had ended, we had all excused ourselves in order to have a first look at our bedrooms and unpack. When I first enter my room, the first thing I notice is how big it is, it being twice the size of my room at home. It was very fancy, with a four-poster bed and a dark wooden wardrobe across from it. Next to that was a record player table with many vinyls stacked neatly on top of it.
Brushing my fingers against the expensive dresser beside the door, I make my way to the other side of the room and study the records. Billie Holiday, Connie Francis, Elvis Presley; these artists plus many more, and their euphonious albums catch my eye and I think to myself that whoever bought these albums has a very good taste in music. I look around the room once more and see a pair of ruby red curtains that stand out against the dark wood windows that gives me a perfect display of the swimming pool and yard.
I pick up my suitcase from beside the door and place it on the bed, and having a first look at what the government men picked up from my house for me. Inside was the essentials plus a bit more. There were a few changes of clothes for different occasions, hygiene products, two books and other miscellaneous items. After I finished putting my things away and my suitcase under my bed, I checked my watch. 5:47, it read; time for dinner.
When I exit my room, I see Sean leaving his and closing the door behind him. He looks up and sees me.
"Oh hey," he beams, clearly glad our mission isn't over.
"Hi, Sean," I say back, catching up with him, and we walk side by side down the hall.
"Hungry? I think Raven is preparing dinner."
"Thank god, I'm starving. I haven't had anything to eat since this morning."
"Yeah, I don't think anyone has." The conversation ended there as we walked down the stairs and into the kitchen. Raven looks up as we see her standing beside the stove cooking what seems to be pasta.
"Good evening, I'm preparing food if you guys are hungry," she says looking back down and adding olive oil to the pot.
"We're starving!" Sean says over-excitedly, leaning against a counter which had seven plates sitting on it.
"Great," Raven then says, draining the pot and then setting it back onto the counter. She continues to prepare dinner and I walk around the island and peek over her shoulder.
"Pasta?" I ask her when I see a pan filled with tomato paste and other herbs, spices and ingredients. She nods her head and tells me we're having spaghetti, to which I reply with a grin. Spaghetti is my favourite food. My stomach rumbles and she lets out a snort.
"Go set the table. The food will be ready by the time you're finished," Raven says, pointing to the counter Sean was leaning against. He moves to beside Raven, dipping his finger into the pasta sauce and licking it off. Raven scowls at him and tells him to piss off. I giggle a little before picking up the plates and cutlery, stacking the cutlery on top of the plates. As I recall, the dining room was next to the kitchen and I was proven right when the long table catches my eye.
After I set the table, Raven and Sean walk in holding pots and pans of pasta sauce and the pasta itself. Together we add even amounts of food to each plate until almost everything was finished; all that was left to do was fill everyones glass and inform them it was time for dinner.
I walk into the kitchen and pull out seven glasses from the cabinet. As I start to fill each glass with water, Alex walks in and I look up.
"Mm, something smells good. Have you been cooking?" he asks, walking over to me and helping me fill the glasses.
"No, but Raven has been. It's time for dinner, your food is in the dining room if you want it,"
"Okay cool," he says, but doesn't leave the room. Instead, he continues to help me fill up the glasses and then we carry them to the dining room. Raven tells Alex to go get Hank, Charles and Erik for dinner and he does so.
"This tastes marvellous, Raven," Charles says. We are all sat at one end of the table, it being so big and all. Raven smiles and shrugs her shoulders.
"It was all we had," she says. "We'll need to go grocery shopping tomorrow." Charles nods his head.
"Why don't you go with Amelia, it'll give you a chance to bond with each other? After all, you two are the only two women in the house," Charles says and I look at them both and smile. I open my mouth to say something but Raven cuts me off.
"Sounds good. After all, us girls need to stick together," she winks at me and smiles.
"You're absolutely right," I say grinning at her and taking a sip of my water. I can already tell that we will all get along so well living in this big house.
