It felt odd for Jovie to be back in the room that she shared with Bellamy at Camp Jaha. As dull and isolating as the white room had been, she had found a sort of safety in it. Being in the white room meant she was away from the drill. It meant she was still alive. Now being surrounded by her belongings, and Bellamy's belongings, put her on edge. She didn't want to feel that way; she was beyond relieved she was safe and back with her people, but something changed inside of her. It didn't feel like home. Then again, maybe it never had.
The shriek of a drill echoed off the walls as Jovie sprung up in bed out of a restless sleep. Cold sweat glistened across her raw skin. Her heart felt like it was trapped by her rib cage and aching to pound right out from under her skin and bones.
"Turn it off!" She screamed as she held her head in her hands. She felt like she had been punched in the gut as she had found it hard to find her breath. "Make it stop!"
"Jo, you're okay. You're okay," Bellamy's voice sounded far away, almost like she was underwater and he was just at the surface. "You're safe." He pulled her onto his lap as she continued to fight against her panicked breath.
It hadn't been the first time that he had comforted Jovie, but this time was different. After Finn died, she was angry. She had destroyed their room and wanted to fight because she knew it was what Finn would have wanted. As Bellamy watched the girl he was in love with become engulfed by her trauma, he realized that maybe part of Jovie had died in Mount Weather. To anyone who didn't truly know her they would have just seen a teenage girl that had been roughed up a bit. Bellamy, however, could see that her blue eyes were duller and her scars were more visible. He could see that she wanted nothing more than to pull herself together and shake it off but that she couldn't. He could piece together what they had done to her inside that mountain, but no one would ever truly know what she had gone through.

"You need to breathe, baby," he told her. All he wanted to do was wrap his arms around her and hold her close to him, to make her realize that he was there. But he also knew she already felt like she was suffocating. So instead, he just let her be near him while he stroked her hair out of her face and tried to get her to match her breathing to his.
"I can't-" she cried.
"You can," he assured her. "I know you can." Bellamy hadn't even realized that he was crying too until Jovie's shaky hand wiped away his tears. "Please, Sunshine, you need to do this." Seeing her like this was breaking his heart. "I should have never let you go in. This is my fault." Hearing his words forced Jovie to try to focus her breathing. She still felt the lump in her throat and the thumping of her heart, but she needed him to know this wasn't because of him.
"Nothing that happened is your fault," she asserted, squeezing his hand that was rested on her cheek. "Bell, you know me better than anyone. I was going in whether you let me or not. I'm a Murphy, stubbornness is what we're made out of." He almost wanted to laugh because that sounded like Jovie, but it was hard to when she looked so broken. "You know what the hardest part for me was? It was not knowing where you were or if you were safe. It was... it was not knowing if I would ever see you again." He closed his eyes as this. The thought was too much for him to handle. "But we made it out."
"And now we get through it together," he said. "We get through it all."
Despite it all, there was one thing that hadn't changed. It was the one thing that kept Jovie's fire burning. It was Bellamy. He was her home.

Dig a Little Deeper
[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] Being a dungeon isn't easy. Past memories just out of reach, not wanting to be a murder pit and trying to find a purpose are just the beginning. It takes time and several hiccups to transition from being a mobile being to being a stationary rock that changes the word with its mind. What is the miasma right outside the door? What monsters does it hide? Can the people that have found me really be trusted? Now planning to post a chapter every other week. I have added a volume for the maps so they are easy to find. There are spoilers on the maps. Cover art commissioned from Rachel Paizs through Upwork.com

Superior Era
How would you react if you found yourself unable to sleep? Not just for one day, or two days, or even three days, but a more permanent time span, like the rest of your life? That’s exactly the predicament Dario finds himself in and he’s thoroughly vexed by it. After all, what sort of sane person would want to miss out on sleep? A madman, that's who. It’s especially worrying considering how he lives in a world filled with fantastical monsters, deadly beasts, and 'Superiors' supposedly protecting the interests of humanity. Sleep is quite the necessity under those circumstances. Life is tough for an ostracized kid, but Dario quickly realizes that his wakeful nights are more blessing than curse, as there seems to be quite a few advantages in not having to sleep... Join Dario as he climbs the ranks of superhumans, uncovers hidden truths, travels the world, and discovers abilities he never before thought possible. This is a tale of superpowered/superhero-like individuals set in a dangerous fantasy world with hints of GameLit elements. Features MC with abilities deemed unique to the world and can disregard the need for sleep at no cost to himself. No Harems. Current Release Schedule: 3-5 chapters per week. (Slower updates for holiday season) First few chapters are fairly short, but the rest will average around 2.5k words.

Key That Opens Wonders.
In this new world Edward Linden found himself in, there are no swords and magic, nor spaceships and aliens. Just brave people venturing into the great unknown, with nothing but what they can carry on their backs protecting them from forces beyond control. Pushed by desire for riches, personal convictions, or simply curiosity, they invade highest peaks, and deepest depths. Where bridges are made of rope, and men are made of iron. And among them, a child trying to figure out whether this world - or the 'Modern Earth' he supposedly hails from, is but a product of a damaged mind.

Rebirth, but not quite.
A boy is born in a fantasy world with knowledge of modern earth, however he does not have personal memories of living or dying before. Good news is he was born in militaristic branch of the royal family and the variety of forms and uses of magic in this world are great fun, bad news is with status come expectations. Follow him as he makes his place in the world all the while escaping boredom with all his might. This is a story without a big baddie trying to destroy the world, without gods choosing heroes to give powers to and without systems that determine what you can and can't do. This is my first fiction and i'm open to suggestions. I plan on using a few cliches while putting my own spin on things, if i write something that feels too much like every other fictions, please say so.
