《havoc | bellamy blake (book two)》18 | too late

After Raven and Finn had come back, they took over watching Clarke while Bellamy and the two Murphy's went outside to guard.
"After this is all over, we need to figure out a way to get our friends out of Mount Weather," Jovie said. After all that was happening with Finn, it was almost as if they had forgotten their original plan. That didn't mean that Finn wasn't any less important, because he was important, but they couldn't wait too long or who knows what could happen.
"We will. First we need to find a way to stop this war with the Grounders," Bellamy said. Jovie couldn't help but feel relieved at his words. Not too long ago Bellamy was the one that was pushing to fight the Grounders. Now he was fighting against it. She was seeing a change in him, a good one. He was always a good person and a good leader wanting to protect the delinquents. It was what made her fall for him in the first place. Now that he was fighting for something better, she couldn't help but feel even stronger towards him.
Suddenly, the sound of rustling in the woods broke Jovie out of her daze. Bellamy pulled her down as he held his gun up.
"We got company. Get out here!" He screamed to the others. "Hey, get down. Grounders." Without asking, Bellamy shoved a gun into Jovie's hands. "I know you don't like these, but take it." She was about to open her mouth to argue but he gave her a hard look. "Please, Jovie, don't fight me on this one. I need you safe and right now, we're outnumbered." The sound of desperation in his voice was what made her give in. Normally she would have never taken it, but she was doing it for him.

When they realized the Grounders were not moving in, they realized they needed to take shelter.
"Everyone, back in the drop ship," Jovie ordered. They all listened, quickly and slyly moving back into the metal shelter. Bellamy and Murphy peeked their heads out, trying to see what the Grounders were doing.
"They're not moving any closer," Murphy announced.
"They're staying out of range. They'll be waiting until it's dark," Bellamy said.
"Look, if we hit them now, we take them by surprise," Murphy inputted.
"We don't even know how many of them are out there," Clarke pointed out.
"I'm not hearing any better ideas, Clarke," he rebutted.
"We'll give them something," Raven said.
"All they want is Finn," Bellamy reminded her.
"Finn wasn't the only one at the village," Raven said. Jovie's head popped up at her words.
"Raven," she said. She couldn't believe that she would say that. She understood she cared about Finn, but how could she offer someone else up? That being her or her brother.
"What are you talking about?" Clarke asked.
"Raven, hold on," Bellamy said.
"Whoa, whoa, whoa," Murphy said. "Raven, I came here to protect him. You were the one who wanted me to come. You..." Murphy stopped as he realized what Raven had done. She had purposefully told Murphy to come to act as the scapegoat if shit went down. "That's why you asked me to come along?"
"Enough Grounders saw him. They'd believe he was the shooter," Raven said.
"No!" Jovie immediately rejected her idea. She didn't want to give up Finn, but she definitely didn't want to give up Murphy either. "That is not happening."
"You sick bitch," Murphy grunted.
"Raven, you don't mean this," Clarke said.

"You know what they do to people," Bellamy reminded her.
"They want a murderer. We'll give them one," Raven said, holding her gun up to Murphy. "Drop your gun!" Jovie was about to stand in front of her brother, but Murphy gently pushed her out of the way and walked up so that he was standing in front of Raven.
"Go to hell, Raven," he said.
"Put it down, Raven," Clarke told her. "Like it or not, he's one of us."
"I said drop it," Raven said.
"Stop. Stop," Finn finally cut in, pushing her gun down as he stepped in front of Murphy. "We're not doing this." He looked around at everyone. "They've got us surrounded. The only thing we can do is stay and defend this place."
"I'm with you," Bellamy said.
"I am too," Jovie added. Clarke and Raven gave simple head nods.
"Murphy."
"Yeah?"
"Go upstairs, watch the rear. I'll take the lower level. You four, take the front gate," Finn delegated. "That's the plan, alright?" Everyone nodded before moving out to their assigned positions.
"See anything?" Clarke asked as the four of them stood guard out by the main gate.
"No," Raven answered. A rustling noise filled the silence. "Someone's coming."
"There," Clarke said. They all turned their guns to the direction of the noise, only to see Finn standing out front with his hands raised.
"No, Finn," Jovie said.
"Finn!" Clarke screamed as she stood up to run towards him. Jovie was quick to do the same, but Bellamy grabbed her around her waist to stop her from moving forward.
"Bellamy, let go of me!" She cried out as she watched the Grounders grab Finn. His grip on her just tightened, partly because he wanted to make sure she didn't do anything stupid by chasing after them and partly because it was his way of letting her know he was there. "Dammit!" She screamed as she turned and pressed her forehead against his chest. It was too late. They had him now.
