After Raven had discovered that Mount Weather had been blocking their communication, it was a miracle that Abby was actually agreeing to let them on a search. Jovie was grateful for Clarke's ability to persuade.
"I can't believe they let Finn come," Octavia commented as the group trekked through the woods. Jovie stared forward at the back of Finn's head as he led the way, trying to ignore Octavia's comment. Part of her agreed, but part of her was hoping that he was trying to make up for what he did, just like John had said he would try to do too.
"He's the best tracker we've got," Bellamy pointed out. Jovie sent him a playful glare at his words. She knew Finn was the best, but she liked to tease Bellamy. "Don't give me that look, Sunshine." She stuck her tongue out at him, making him laugh quietly.
He cleared his throat before giving advice to the others in the group that were unfamiliar with the ways of the ground. "Don't forget to look up. The Grounders use the trees. That's how we lost John Mbege."
"You think Kane's okay?" Jovie asked Bellamy quietly. She had been thinking about him recently, wondering where he was and what he was doing. She wished she could have gone with him to talk to the Commander, but she was also glad that she was here trying to find her friends.
"Is that concern I hear? Never thought you'd be one to be concerned about Kane," he replied.
"I'm not," she denied. Though, it was a bit of a lie. She didn't want him dead. "I'm just wondering if he's been able to meet with the Commander."
"I'm sure he's fine," Bellamy said. "Let him try to work things out with them while we focus on this." Jovie nodded her head, hoping he was right.
"Bellamy, Jovie, Octavia," Clarke called as she sped up to walk in sync with the trio. "We're nearing Mount Weather's territory." She slyly handed them the map that she shown earlier, trying to discreetly send them a message.
"To try to find a way in," Jovie finished. Clarke nodded her head. "We'll do it."
♛
"According to Clarke, before the bombs, there were buildings everywhere," Bellamy said as the three of them walked through the woods. "I'm guessing some of them had access to the bunker. So we're looking for ruins, anything that's man-made, okay?" Jovie nodded her head.

All of a sudden another voice could be heard behind them. "Hey, Blake, Murphy! Let's go, right now." Jovie rolled her eyes at the sound of one of Abby's soldiers.
"In case you've forgotten, we're not under your command," Bellamy said as the three of them turned around.
"And we never will be," Jovie said. "We're not on the Ark anymore."
"Don't make us do this the hard way," Scott said.
"Come on, Scott. Forty-seven of our people are prisoners in this mountain," Bellamy said.
"That's why we're out here," he replied.
"Bullshit," Jovie spat.
"You're out here to find other stations of the Ark," Bellamy said. "We're out here to find our friends."
"Bell," Octavia said. Bellamy and Jovie turned their attention to Octavia, now noticing the herd of bugs scurrying across the forest ground. It didn't take a lot to figure out there was something wrong.
"What are they doing?" Scott asked in confusion. Jovie looked up when she heard a noise, seeing the acid fog approaching them quickly. It took her back to the first time that she had seen it, how it burned her hand and killed Atom.
"Acid fog!" Bellamy announced when he realized the same. "We need cover, now!"
"Get your tents!" Jovie ordered. She started to unpack hers when she realized Octavia wasn't behind her anymore.
"O! O! Get back here!" Bellamy screamed. Jovie and Bellamy chased after her, watching as she dug at the ground.
"Bell! There's something in here," she said. "Maybe it's the ruins." Jovie didn't hesitate to help her dig away at the overgrown forestry that covered the entrance.
"Hey, over here!" Bellamy screamed to the soldiers. With the help of Scott, Bellamy was able to open the door. "Hurry, quick! Get inside!" Only two of the soldiers, one of them being Scott, had made it in time before the acid fog closed in. Jovie looked over at Octavia to make sure she was okay before grabbing Bellamy's arm. He nodded his head at her in assurance, pulling her in to kiss the top of her head to let her know he was okay. It had been too close of a call, and Jovie could only hope that Clarke, Raven, and Finn were all okay too.
Bellamy led the way further in as they all pulled out their flashlights to see in the dark area. There were old cars everywhere in the open space.

"Where are we?" Scott asked.
"Looks like a garage," Bellamy answered. As Octavia pulled out her sword, Jovie did the same with her daggers. There was no telling what was in there with them and she wasn't going to take any chances.
"More like a tomb," Octavia noted. It was eerily quiet in the place besides the sound of the cockroaches running around.
"I'm sorry about your man, but we need to find an access door to Mount Weather," Bellamy told Scott.
"Hey, not so fast," Scott said.
"Sir, that fog will keep us pinned down for another-" Bellamy paused when Scott pulled out a gun to hand to him.
"We'll split up. Meet back here in 15," he said. Jovie glanced over wearily at him. She wasn't entirely sure that splitting up was the best call in this situation, but she had more of an urge to find Mount Weather than anything else. "Be safe." The three split off from the two soldiers, not hesitating to head further into the darkness.
It wasn't long after that they separated that they heard screams from where they had come from. Jovie immediately turned on her heels and ran back to see what was happening, Octavia and Bellamy hot on her tracks. A weird song was playing as they approached, but there was no one to be seen.
"Scott?" Bellamy asked. "Are you there?" They kept moving in a crouched position until they reached an abandoned gun and a strange sound.
"Bell, what was that?" Octavia asked. When Bellamy shined his light on two Reapers hovering over the soldier's body, Jovie tightened her grasp on her daggers. "Reapers!" Bellamy fired the gun as the Reapers headed straight for them, killing them both before they could reach them.
"Take this," Bellamy said as he handed the gun to Octavia. He made eye contact with Jovie. "You do not leave my side, got it?" Jovie nodded her head. She knew she could fight, but there was no doubt that the guns overpowered the Reapers. So instead, she would watch Bellamy and Octavia's backs.
They reached another Reaper eating the other soldier's body, but when Jovie focused in more she realized something. The Reaper was Lincoln. Bellamy cocked his gun, but Octavia must have realized too because she stopped him.
"Don't. It's Lincoln," she said. "Lincoln?" He began to stand, but it was obvious that he had no idea who they were. He was looking at them like every other Reaper did. "Lincoln, it's me. It's Octavia!"
"O, he doesn't recognize you," Jovie told her as he started to aggressively approach them.
"Don't kill him," she ordered. Suddenly, Lincoln grabbed Octavia and threw her into one of the cars. A gunshot went off, but it wasn't Bellamy who shot it. Instead, it was Octavia, so Bellamy took the moment to slam his gun into the side of Lincoln's head to knock him out. Bellamy and Jovie ran over to grab Octavia and pull her away.
"We need to get somewhere safe," Bellamy said as he dragged Octavia by the arm with Jovie following closely next to him. They finally were able to get into one of the cars shortly after. It was their best option at safety for the time being, considering they didn't know how to get out and they didn't know how many other Reapers were in the garage with them.
Jovie sat quietly and calmly next to Bellamy as Octavia sat breathing rapidly in shock. Jovie was in shock too, but she forced herself to keep her cool for Octavia's sake.
"He's a Reaper," Octavia said. "How's it even possible? He just looked right through me."
"Shh," Bellamy said when he realized Lincoln was approaching.
"How?" Lincoln growled when he heard Octavia speak. Jovie clenched her teeth as she stared at the man who had once been a friend to her and a lover to Octavia but was now a Reaper. He looked like a completely different person -- no, he looked like an animal -- with blood covering his face and drool dripping out of his mouth. "Can he see us?"
"I don't know." He ran a bloody hand onto the window before stumbling away.
"Shh, shh. Just listen to me," Bellamy whispered. "I'll get him back, I promise."
"Bell," Jovie whispered. He looked over at her, silently telling her that they had to do this for Octavia. Jovie knew that, but she didn't want Bellamy getting hurt or dying in the process. How were they supposed to save Lincoln if he was trying to kill them?

Yin-Yang
Mages in North America seem to have it all – typically from well-off families, and able to manipulate their environment in ways most of the world would never believe. They don’t even have to bother with the mundane details of life like housework, thanks to their sensitives, who also make a useful source for extra magical energy. After all, sensitives have no use for it themselves, and if mages weren’t meant to make use of it, then the sensitives would obviously have some way to prevent that. That a mage can transform a sensitive physically, with no restrictions beyond overall mass and basic biological viability, whereas magic tends not to work directly on any other living thing, is only further proof. And look at the way they live on their own, barely a step above animals. It’s better for them to belong to a mage. Sensitives in North America live on the edge of society and survival – typically so paranoid they avoid hospitals and anything else that could lead to being tracked, many of them with little or no education and no legal identity or existence. Mages exist, and mages want sensitives for some reason, but no one ever comes back to explain what that reason is. Waiting every day for the hunters to notice them doesn’t lead to much motivation or hope for the future. And once they’re captured, they’re the property of someone with a terrifying amount of power over them. Anything is better than capture. Mages are born to be the masters, and sensitives are born victims. Or are they? Jax’s life is turned upside-down when he’s caught by the hunters and sold to a mage. Andreas is still mourning for his previous sensitive, though, unconsciously creating a difficult standard for Jax to live up to, all the more so while still struggling to come to terms with this new reality as Andreas’ sensitive. A runaway sensitive isn’t what Van expects at the mental health centre. Is this a hunter trap, set for him and the rest of the Donovan family by the hunters? The hunters would, after all, love to see them cross the line openly and finally do something they can be charged with. Either way, Miranda’s genuinely in trouble, and he can’t just abandon her to it. Snatching a sensitive out from under the hunters and hiding her is odd behaviour for a mage – but then, Catherine is an odd mage, living in disgrace in the old servants’ quarters of her grandmother’s house, responsible for cooking and housework. Lila owes Catherine her freedom; is there a way to help Catherine achieve her own, and at what price? Tension is building between traditionally-minded mages and those advocating change, and something has to break. *** Yin-Yang includes a small amount of profanity and no graphic sex or on-screen physical violence. However, sex and gender roles and relationships within the mage/sensitive subculture are non-traditional in mainstream North American terms. The key criterion in a primary relationship is not relative sex or gender, but the pairing of mage and sensitive; given the transformation of sensitives by their mages, physical sex is non-absolute for a sensitive, and gender identity can vary as in anyone else. *** *** The way mages treat sensitives is extremely varied and, in some cases is outright abusive. The struggle against that is pretty much the point of the book. It is NOT grimdark or misery-porn! However, if you will be triggered by this, please, don't read Yin-Yang! *** Complete stand-alone novel, 153K words! Also available on Scribble Hub and as a free ebook.

DarkBoi69's mediocre, rushed and badly-written aventure
Follow DarkBoi69's edgy adventure as I move him through a shitty plot where he meets terribly-written characters like angry evil stupid villains and naive cute useless busty women. This story is not really an actual serious story but simply a writing exercise for me to focus on overall writing speed, forcefully insert some writing in my everyday life to increase productivity and most importantly help with turning ideas, thoughts or feelings into writing directly without feeling blocked, hopefully trying to achieve something as close as possible to writing unconsciously what i’m thinking about. I'll probably try to do something like writing as much in 30 mins as I can, nearly every-day. So far I've only done this once and it already seems like a pretty good thing to do. I don’t have anything planned and that’s probably going to be a constant for every one of these exercises, so it’ll end up being not very good (although maybe better than it has any right to be? ) and nonsensical.
