It was two days after Tondc had happened. Things had just started to die down, but everyone was still on edge. Between wondering if the Grounders were going to retaliate and wondering how to get their friends out of Mount Weather, they had a lot to worry about.
Bellamy and Jovie were at a table with Clarke, going over the map of Mount Weather again. She was the only one that knew anything about the place, so they needed her. She couldn't get sidetracked with having to deal with Finn, and it was obvious she was trying not to as she had been avoiding him.
"Okay, tell us again," Bellamy said.
"It's a Labyrinth, we got to the dam through this tunnel. It's all connected to the mine system. That's our way in," Clarke said, pointing to the different areas on the map.
"Sure, if we can get past the Reapers and the Mountain Men," Bellamy pointed out. "I swear to God if your mom doesn't sanction the mission soon I'm going by myself."
"You won't be by yourself," Clarke replied. By the look on her face, she wanted to get in there to get their friends out just as badly.
"That's for damn sure," Jovie agreed. Jovie would never let Bellamy into such a mission alone. She would rather be sent in by herself than let him by himself.
Clarke's face suddenly dropped as she looked past Bellamy, so the other two looked to see what she was looking at. Jovie's face dropped too when she saw Finn exiting the ship.
"Guess the inquisitions over. How's Finn doing anyway?" He asked. He was weary to bring it up around Jovie because she was still acting distant, but he was still their friend.
"I haven't talked to him since we got back. I don't know what to say. He just kept shooting," Clarke said. Jovie lowered her head, not wanting to be listening to this. Clarke didn't need to remind them of what happened. Jovie couldn't get it out of her head. She knew better than anyone what he had done. She had been shot too after all.

"We're at war, Clarke. We've all done things," Bellamy said. Jovie stood to her feet when he said this. He was right, but that didn't mean she had to like it. Bellamy looked at her as she went to walk away, but before she could, Finn got to her first.
"Hey," he said quietly. She paused. She was still upset with him, but she still couldn't help but be worried about him too. He had to be dealing with the aftermath, considering he was the one to do it. So in the end, she figured it should be time to start to try to forgive him.
"Hey," she replied quietly before walking past him to get to the bar. He didn't take it personally that she didn't stay to talk. In fact, he was surprised that she had even said anything to him at all.
Jovie sat down at the bar, throwing back her drink. She slammed the cup onto the table and poured herself another. As she sipped on it, she felt a hand on her back. She didn't need to look to see who it was. She knew his touch.
"I'm tired of people dying," she said quietly. Jovie took everything in so deeply, but he did too. He felt the burden of all of the things that he had done while being down here, just like she did. They harboured so much pain and anguish that it was a miracle they were even still keeping it together. The only reason they were was because they had each other. The delinquents' bond with one another was the one thing that made the pain worth it. No one could take that away from them.
"I am too," Bellamy said. "But we just need to push a little more until we get our friends the hell out of that place." That was something Jovie could agree with.

"Jo?" Jovie turned when she heard her brother's voice. She had yet to talk to him about what had gone down. It had been a wild couple of days, so she had barely thought about how she was feeling towards him. It was clear he was trying to make up for the things that he had done, but she was still scared to forgive him. "Can I talk to you?"
She thought about it for a brief moment before nodding her head. She stood up, quickly placing a kiss onto Bellamy's lips before heading over to a different table with her brother. He scratched the back of his neck awkwardly as she stared blankly at him.
"So, are you going to talk or?" She finally broke the silence with.
"Yeah, yeah, just trying to figure out where to start," he said. "I guess... what I really want to say is... I'm sorry." He faded out at the end of the sentence. She had still heard him, but if he wanted her to believe it then he had to own up to it. Apologizing was never an easy thing for the Murphy's.
"What was that?"
"I said, I'm sorry," he finally got out. "I'm sorry for it all, Jo. I should have never tried to kill Charlotte, or killed Connor or Myles, or tried to kill Bellamy, or shot Raven." Jovie raised her eyebrows as he listed all of the things he had done, all of which consisted of attempting to kill other delinquents. John Murphy knew how to survive, but part of it was at the cost of other people's lives. That was where him and Jovie were different. They were both survivors, but John used people while Jovie put other people in front of herself.
"I just, I don't care if no one else forgives me, but I need you to forgive me. You're the only one that I have left. I can't lose you." Jovie was quite shocked at his words. He was never one for sentiment, so the fact that he was even saying any of this proved how desperate he was for her forgiveness. "I'll kill you if you tell anyone I said any of this." Considering the circumstances, she probably shouldn't have laughed, but she did.
"No one would believe me if I did tell," she pointed out. He laughed in return. She let out a small sigh then, trying to figure out what she wanted to say. In the end, she figured the truth was the best option. "I want to forgive you, J, but it's going to take some time. There's a difference between what we do to survive and what you did. If you want my forgiveness, you're going have to prove that I can trust you again. When it comes down to it, you know I will always be there for you. You're my brother and I love you, but I refuse to accept the version of you that kills people out of revenge. I can't have that."
"Understood," he said. It was clear that he was relieved that she was going to try as long as he tried too. Family was a powerful thing and he was just lucky that he had her.

Author's Thoughts: What is litRPG (From wikipedia) - LitRPG, short for Literary Role Playing Game, is a literary genre combining the conventions of MMORPGs with science-fiction fantasy novels.[1] LitRPG is a literary genre where games or game-like challenges form an essential part of the story. A LitRPG work simultaneously narrates the story of characters inside and outside of the game-world. At least some of the characters in a LitRPG novel therefore understand that they are playing a game: they are 'meta-aware'. So, while Tolkien's Lord of the Rings is a fantasy novel, a book about people creating avatars and interacting in a Lord of the Rings MMORPG would be a LitRPG novel. Why do I read them? You know, I am not too sure. I love MMOs. I played them, quit them, joined up and repeated the cycle. They are fun! They are a massive waste of time but so are most games. Do I want to read about someone else playing them? Sort of?The advent of VR and the possibility of VR someday becoming so immersive that you can't tell them from reality sets the imagination on fire. What if this could be life? But most stories fall short. At the end of the day the protagonist hangs up his VR helmet and goes to have dinner with his mom and dad or other family and it becomes meaningless. It's like the story that ends because the main character woke up and nothing you read matters. There have been some books that explore the concept of the intersection of reality and total immersion VR. Enders Game is a classic. There were a few others that escape me but they exist, however, the cross between the game and reality is weak.So what if the game was real? The technology needed for total immersion VR is so advanced that by the time we reach that goal technology should have naturally evolved to include several items. You must have direct neural input. You simply can't have a total immersion (all senses and perfect presence) experience without this basic prerequisite. If you have direct neural access, you can probably do neat things like feed knowledge and skills directly to that person. You can undoubtedly do many horrible things as well. Muscles are controlled by the brain. If you control the brain why would you let the body just sit there and rot? A person that sits unmoving for 24 hours a day will have their body whither away just like a coma patient. However, if you control the brain you could control the muscles. On a basic level, this would be isometric impulses, working muscle group against muscle group to avoid atrophy. Taken to its logical conclusion you would be able to gain muscle mass and program muscle memory. The flip side is that you could remote control their body... but let's not go there. So what would people do if it were real? Well, they would probably limit and regulate it since the drawbacks are very obvious. Even if you look at the basic aspects of this you can see some negative possibilities. Look at the Sword Art Online anime. Personally, I think they missed the boat by putting a bomb in the VR helmet. Do you really need a bomb when you have direct access to the brain? So what kind of events would you need to have a situation where the obvious drawbacks haven't been explored? Maybe a society where the advancement of technology has so far outstripped the explorations of its applications that ignorance was truly bliss? Okay, so I had to put in an alien invasion to kickstart the premise, but that was just one of the possibilities.

The Collected Short Stories of Necrontyr525
Hey all, Necrontyr525 here! Rather then drown you all in a flood of one- to three-chapter mini-fics, I've decided to put out all of my short stories in an 'omnibus' format, sorted by series and by release date. I can't think of any off of the top of my head, but better safe then sour.Comments, reviews, and constuctive criticizm is welcome, but please do recall that these works collectivly represent a great deal of my growth as a writer.Cover by the wonderful gej302!
