《Smile》Ninety four

"I love you soooo much," I kissed Zion. "Both of you," I sighed as I watched them both sleep. "And I'm sooo sorry." Leaning back I nodded and wiped away the tear that rolled down my cheek.
Okay Jazzy, let's stop thinking about that time.
I walked over to my vanity and looked down at the box that's been calling my name since Christmas. I haven't read the note Y/n wrote for me when she was sixteen because...I don't know.
Slowly opening the box I pulled out the note and smiled softly at the memories.
That smile I fell in love with...and the smile I'm still in love with.
I sat on my chair and unfolded the note.
Dear Jazzy,
Hi, right now I'm sitting across from you as I write this note. You might be reading this a week from now...maybe a year or two. If it is that far into the future I hope we found our way back to each other. If you don't remember where you went, your parents are moving and you're going with sadly. Since I write big I can't really say a lot before I'm out of room on this paper so...
Straight to the point first, I'm so in love with you and personally, I might never stop loving you- at least I hope I don't. I'm not really familiar with 'love' unless it's from my mom, baby brother, or Quincy however, your love is...different? It was kind of love at first eye roll. Remember when we first met? You immediately hit me with that feisty attitude I love so much.
Anyways, I'm pretty sure you already know how I feel for you I mean, I know myself that I can't stop staring at you and I hope that didn't seem creepy but, your beautiful. Second, I want to thank you for being here for me. After you found out about what my dad does you went crazy and that showed me how much you care no matter how mean you act.

I'm sad your leaving because who's going to hold me at night when I run away from home? Who's going to give me those fucking chills? Who's going to make my heart race like you do?
Quick answer, no one.
I doubt I'll ever find anyone like you, maybe I'll fall in love again but...Will they be able to compare to you? If your reading this note it's either the day before our wedding or we never found each other again. Or maybe we did and I'm in a relationship now and your watching from a distance. If that's the case then can you smack some sense into future me?
Thanks.
But, if I am in a relationship now and I'm truly happy, I hope we're still best friends. Granted, I would love to just give you all my love and affection but, if that's not the case then fine say I'm with this other chick. I don't ever want to lose you, you know? As long as your always in my life I'll be completely fine.
Which leads me to my third and final thing. Please come back to me Jazzy. When you leave you have to find me again because like I said, I don't think I could do this whole life thing without you. Quincy is my other half but dammit Jasmine your my heart and...I can't exactly live without that. I hope you feel the same way about me and I hope you need me too, if you do then do both of us a solid and get back to me as soon as possible because I'll definitely be looking for you.
I only have a couple of lines left so I'll end it here. Um...don't wait five years to read this note, especially if we're not together. And...I love you.

Sincerely, your Dino
P.S I fucking love the name Dino no matter how much I complain.
My eyes slowly opened as I let out a shaky breath. Running my fingers over the ink I glanced back at my babies and smiled.
Man, only Y/n.
-
I just couldn't take my eyes off Y/n...As she stood there talking to her girlfriend.
"Vanessa Moe," she gripped Vanessa's chin causing Vanessa to smirk. "Apologize."
Vanessa hummed. "Or else?"
Y/n raised a brow and then pouted dropping her hand. "I-I'll cry asshole."
Vanessa laughed. "Awww come here baby," she wrapped her arms around Y/n's neck as Y/n wrapped her arms around Vanessa's waist with a huge smile on her face. "I'm sooooo very sorry."
Y/n hummed and tucked her face into Vanessa's neck saying something I couldn't quite hear.
I gulped and looked away as Vanessa leaned back and smiled softly before pressing her lips against Y/n's.
"Alright, that's enough." Quincy rolled his eyes.
Rain sat typing away on his phone before he looked over at me and frowned slightly. "You good?"
I glanced at Y/n and nodded. "Yup."
He glanced at them too and hummed. "Text me."
I frowned. "What?"
He rolled his eyes and looked down at his phone. Then a message came through my phone.
I chuckled and grabbed it as I opened the message.
🌧👼🏽
🎂
I heard his gasp causing me to laugh.
🌧👼🏽
🎂🤔
🌧👼🏽
I rolled my eyes and chuckled.
🎂
"That's not what you said last night." He mumbled causing me to smack his arm.
"What happened to texting?"
Quincy smacked his lips. "So y'all fucking now?"
I rolled my eyes. "We haven't had sex since high school."
Rain groaned. "They didn't need to know that now reply to my message."
"Y/n their talking shit."
I looked at Y/n as she hummed and nodded. "Fuck them we can make a group chat between the three of us."
"Bet."
I shook my head and looked back at my phone.
🌧👼🏽
🎂
🌧👼🏽
🎂
🌧👼🏽
🎂
🌧👼🏽🖕🏽
🎂
🌧👼🏽
I glared at him and he winked causing me to roll my eyes.
I looked over at Y/n who was already watching me.
She smacked her lips and stuck her tongue out causing me to flip her off.
I sighed and smiled as I looked down.
Maybe I shouldn't have told Rain that...
Oops.

Farmer Boy
Evel was just a farmer boy in a remote village. Where other boys left to go on adventures, he stayed with what remained of his family, toiling away at the field his father had left him with. One day, as he explored the woods, he was attacked by a wild goblin. Afraid and weak, he could only cower when a knight came to his rescue, saving him from his untimely death. Then, as he stared at the corpse of the goblin, he had an idea, and buried the goblin into the soil before planting some seeds over it. He thought the goblin would act as a good fertilizer! At least, according to that old book he read. To be fair, it was. But how was he supposed to realise that it would bear so much more? A slice-of-life story of a fantasy farmer boy growing towards the future, and all that happens along the way. -Updates roughly twice a week. New chapters every Tuesdays and Fridays-

Nero Zero
Monsters plagued the lands for too long. No matter if one had fangs, beak, teeth, skin, fur, or feather, or was tall, stout, or diminutive, the people suffered. Until the Gadgeteers came with a device that could allow people to fight back. Powered by one's own magical power, feeding off of monster Essence, the Arbitrium bracer turned the tables. It also changed society. Strength of one's level cap was all that mattered. The strongest were Kings and Emperors. The weak or those too poor to afford the marvelous device, destitute. And so it has been for millennia. All that mattered was one's level cap. High, low, a fate decided the moment the strange contraption came alive. Too high and you were a threat to those interested in keeping the status quo, a weed to be nipped before it could grow and take root. Too low and you were nobody, fated to be a bit more than a simple farmer. What if someone, somewhere, came up with a zero for their level cap? Unable to use Essence, unable to level up. On all of recorded history, it never happened. Until it did. In a small village of fur-less and tail-less ape-beastkin, a boy found out he was uniquely handicapped. Nero's level cap was Zero. But he'd never let that stop him from reaching his goals. ------------------------------------------------ All stories have already been told. We merely reuse elements from them. From Joseph Campbell's Monomith to Stephen King's advice, and that encyclopedia of tropes you've visited, fiction has been dissected and reassembled countless times. One will surely find elements inspired on other works here. Just like cooking from basic ingredients, the recipe and presentation is what really matter. This is a fantasy adventure, of someone that goes from a zero to a slightly bigger zero. It will have romance but no harem. Cruelty but with hope dimly shining ahead. Lightweight where it can be, heavy where it must. Thanks for reading. Cover Credits (The cover is CC-BY-NC-SA): Steampunk Spider Bracer, by Daniel Proulx. Shaman
*** Let's get this clear now: the MC is a trans woman. This is not a gender-bender. It's set in a fantasy world but the exploration of identity and gender is reality-based. Not a joke, not a kinky turn-on. If this is a problem for you, please just act like an adult and look elsewhere for something to read. *** Rating breakdown, since that should be public info: 2 x 5*, 1 x 4.5*, 1 x 3*, no reasons offered. A human shaman and healer returns from several years with the mysterious shyani, accompanied by her shapeshifting puma best friend. A valued friend, from her previous identity as a male student physician, has acquired an old shyani book, and extremists will not tolerate its presence in human hands. But back in human lands, the question arises: which world does she belong in? Generations ago, human explorers found a continent inhabited by an utterly alien culture of shapeshifting weyres and the shyani, humanoids who prefer dusk and dawn. A truce of sorts was eventually reached: humans claimed the rich lowlands, and the shyani and weyres retain the highlands. Along the border, practicality often rules, but on either side, old grudges linger in some hearts. As a student physician, Corin tried to take his own life, unable to bear the countless tiny wounds inflicted over twenty-one years of lying to himself in order to be, or pretend to be, socially acceptable. At the last improbable instant, intervention came, in the form of a spirit fox, who led him away from the existence he’d known in the lowlands and into the highlands. There, a puma weyre rescued him, and a shyani shaman helped him find his true self and offered a rebirth, a life with no more lies, and an important role to fill. Now a shaman and healer in her own right, Vixen who was once Corin learns that the one human who mattered to her in her previous life, then a fellow University student, has come into possession of an old shyani book, and the more fanatical shyani and weyres will stop at nothing to reclaim it and punish Jared. Even though it means going back into the lowlands and facing Jared as a woman, she can’t bear to just look the other way. This should be a short visit, just long enough to see the book into the proper hands and make sure Jared will not be killed for having it, and then she can return to the shyani community that has accepted her as their shaman. And, of course, her feline best friend Dayr insists on coming with her. But Jared is now a Lord, with considerable wealth and power, and his response to her presence isn’t one she expected. After years living with the shyani, she sees everything around her from a new perspective, and that makes it difficult to keep to the plan of making as few waves as possible. As an honoured guest in a highborn house, with only Jared aware that she has ever been anyone else, Vixen finds herself questioning where she belongs: with Dayr and the shyani, who accept her gender without question but have to make allowances for her differences, or with humans, in the culture she grew up in even though her past would mean a major scandal? *** Trigger warning: there are scenes of Vixen's previous life, which include some difficult moments and culminate in an (obviously unsuccessful) attempt at suicide before she finds her true self and a better life. Please be careful! This is the ONLY reason for the "Traumatising Content" tag.*** Complete stand-alone novel, 96K words. Also available on Scribble Hub and as a free ebook.
