I felt lips on my bare back and I groaned. "Nessaaaa leave me alone."
She smacked my back. "Nope get up, I'm bored."
I nodded. "Okay...Five more...Hours."
"Y/nnnn."
I chuckled and turned my head looking at her before frowning. "Why are you wearing clothes?"
She shrugged. "I've been up for two hours."
"Your point?"
She rolled her eyes and bounced on the bed. "Get up, go get in the shower."
I yawned and sat up. "I feel like your trying to kick me out."
She stood. "I would never."
I pulled on my shorts and shirt before standing and stretching. "I didn't get a chance to ask you, how was the photoshoot with um...What's his name again?"
Vanessa smacked her lips. "Alfred, and it was okay I guess. I was actually super bored throughout the whole day."
I walked into her bathroom and hummed as I grabbed my extra toothbrush. "Sureeee."
She leaned against the doorway and raised a brow. "Sureeee?"
I glanced at her and started to brush my teeth. "Wow, your cheating already?"
"How'd you figure that out?"
"That big ass hickey on your neck."
She gasped and covered it. "Dammit you caught me, this girl named Y/n did it last night."
I shook my head and wiped away a fake tear as I rinsed out my mouth. "I fucking knew it." She chuckled as I walked up to her and pecked her lips. "So Christmas is in three days."
She hummed.
"What do you want?"
Vanessa shrugged as we walked back into her room. "Nothing specific really."
Well I know that means she wants something specific she just doesn't wanna ask.
"Well, just think of something."
She sat on the bed and looked up at me. "What I want isn't something that any- well you could give me."
I pouted. "Bitch I got money."
She laughed as I sat next to her. "Cool well, when you get your Ph.D. and become a doctor come talk to me."
I raised a brow.
She sighed. "The only gift I want is for Summer's heart to get better."
"Pretty good gift," I bit my lip. "Is she getting worse? You seemed so nonchalant before."
Vanessa looked down. "Um, she's having a big surgery in about a month, depending on how her heart acts it might be sooner but it could also be later. About a week ago she started taking these pills that, in my opinion, makes her heart worse. Without the pills her heart either beats too fast or too slow, she could pass out, get dizzy...I'm just ready for her to get better."
I nodded and grabbed her hand. "I am too...She'll be home for Christmas right?"
Vanessa nodded.
"Welllll, I think I can give you a good gift."
She looked at me and raised a brow. "Yeah?"
I nodded. "What does Summer want that I can actually give her?"
Vanessa hummed and then she gasped. "I have the perfect gift but, we need to start planning now."
"Well get your ass up so we can go."
-
I threw a grape up and caught it in my mouth.
"Y/n again!" Travis yelled as he kneeled next to Dog.
Jasmine shook her head. "You're not a dog Tr-"
"Shhh," I grabbed another grape. "Shhhhhhhh-"
"Stop shushing me hooooo- person that sleeps around a lot."

I chuckled glancing at the crib our babies were sleeping in as Quincy rolled his eyes. "Why don't you curse in front of the kids? They can't understand."
"Hey, Quincy can I tell you something?" I looked at him.
He shook his head. "I don't wanna-"
"How about you let us raise our kids in the environment we wanna raise them in?"
Jasmine smacked my thigh and nodded. "Period. Talk ya talk."
Quincy smacked his lips. "Whatever, you and your baby momma can get y'all ASSES beat."
I threw a grape at his forehead. "Shut up."
"Y/nnnnn."
I nodded looking at Travis as I grabbed another grape. Tossing it towards him Dog quickly jumped up and basically body-slammed Travis as he caught the grape.
Quincy and I laughed as Travis whined and rubbed his arm.
Jasmine smacked the back of my head and walked over to Travis. "It's not funny," she looked down at Travis. "You should've stopped, you okay?"
I smiled softly as I watched her. "Your mommy instincts kicking in."
She glanced up at me. "And yours not."
I smirked and raised a brow. "Ohhh feisty."
A faint smiled appeared on her lips as she looked back down at Travis' arm.
I bit my lip and unintentionally looked over at Quincy who raised a brow.
"The Titanic sounds good huh? I love the part where that ship sails."
Shady bitch.
I shrugged. "Yeah but, it sunk."
Quincy hummed. "Not according to Shane Dawson who says the Titanic wasn't the actual Titanic and was replaced with another boat."
I hummed. "Yeah but, it's a conspiracy theory."
He hummed. "Is it?"
"What are you two talking about?" Jasmine frowned as she stood up.
"Nothing." Quincy and I said simultaneously.
"They're talking about how your relati-"
"Hey, Travis? Shut up." Quincy rolled his eyes.
"Whatever." Travis sat next to Jasmine and watched tv.
"Y'all ready for Christmas?" Quincy asked.
I nodded as Jasmine grimaced. "Shit, I forgot to tell you guys. I'll be breaking the tradition this year because Rain wants to take me somewhere."
I frowned as my head snapped towards her. "Fuck that, you have to spend the whole day with us in pajamas while we eat and watch movies."
Jasmine sighed. "He's been planning something for about a month now-"
"And we've been doing the same thing for five years, some boy not about to change that," Quincy scoffed and then looked at me. "Who does she think she is?"
"I know right," I looked over at Jasmine. "Even I'm giving Vanessa and Summer their gift on Christmas Eve because I respect our tradition."
Jasmine sighed. "So what do I do? Tell him I can't see him on Christmas."
"Nobody said that- shit you can bring him, I'm bringing Vanessa. You just have to be with me- um us all Christmas."
She raised a brow catching my slip up. "Okay."
I nodded slowly. "Okay?"
"Yeah, I'll just invite him over here so that we can spend the whole day together."
I smiled and nodded. "Good."
Quincy cleared his throat. "Ummm, you mean all of us right?"
Jasmine slowly took her eyes from me to look at Quincy. "Duh."
Quincy nodded. "Just making sure," he stood. "Y/n let's talk yeah?"
I groaned as Travis laughed. "You're in trouble."
"Shut up punk." I stood and followed Quincy out of the living room and into his room. "What's up?"

He crossed his arms looking at me. "Okay look, Vanessa is your girlfriend now and as much as I want you with Jasmine, you two gotta stop the flirting."
Flirting? What?
"Dude, what?"
"Don't fuck- Y/n seriously."
I smacked my lips and sighed as I sat down. "I know dude I just...your right."
Quincy sat next to me. "I've cheated and I've been cheated on. I'll tell you now that neither of them are fun so," he shrugged. "Chill."
I shook my head. "I would never cheat," I chuckled. "And even if I wanted to cheat with Jasmine she would kill me."
Quincy chuckled and nodded. "Man she would kill you and straight-up tell your kids how you died when they get older."
We both laughed and I looked down at my hands. "I love Vanessa."
"...but?"
I looked at him. "But nothing, I love her."
He nodded. "Good."
I huffed and stood back up. "I'm going back downstairs."
"Y/nnnn-"
"Shut up, I just don't wanna be cooped up with your gay ass."
He smacked his lips as I walked out of the room and headed back towards the living room.
I don't know if I'd exactly call that "flirting" but I definitely have since I started dating Vanessa...Isn't flirting cheating?
Dammit, have I cheated on her?
I flopped down onto the couch as my heart sank.
"You okay?" Travis asked causing Jasmine to quickly look at me.
I gulped and nodded as Jasmine frowned.
"You look sick."
I put on a fake smile and rolled my eyes. "Wow, thanks."
She squinted and glanced at Travis before raising a brow at me.
I raised a brow and looked away causing her to smack her lips. "So Trav, I have the best Christmas present for you."
He gasped. "The Nintendo Switch?!"
"Nope."
He hummed. "A girlfriend?"
"Awww," Jasmine ruffled his hair. "That hurt."
I chuckled and shook my head. "Even God couldn't get you a girlfriend."
He rolled his eyes. "Well, what is it? Does Jasmine know?"
"Of course she does-"
"Travis question, you ever got a Christmas present?" Jasmine looked down at him.
He nodded. "Of course, you bought me presents."
She nodded. "Right, so you understand that you can't know what your gift is right?"
Travis sighed. "Yeahhhh, fine," he stood. "I'm going to take a nap."
He stood and walked out of the living room after kissing his niece and nephew.
I slowly looked at Jasmine who was already watching me.
Quickly looking away I prayed Quincy came downstairs before she ask-
"What's wrong?"
I groaned. "I think I cheated on Nessa."
Jasmine punched my arm and I jumped. "What?!"
I winced and rubbed my arm. "Freaking bit-"
"Why would you cheat idiot?!"
I shoved her face causing her to fall back onto the couch. Slapping her thigh she jumped and winced as she sat up.
"First of all shut up, my kids are sleeping." She grimaced looking at the crib before glaring at me again. "Second, I said THINK and third, can I explain?"
She rolled her eyes. "Go ahead."
I bit my lip. "We still flirt Jazzy," I looked down. "Isn't that technically cheating?"
Jasmine burst into laughter and I looked at her frowning. "No that's not cheating," she shook her head. "Granted it's not right but, it's not cheating. Us women like to say it's cheating because we don't want our partner flirting with someone else but, by definition it isn't. Flirting is however a different subject I won't get into but," she nodded. "Yeah we still shouldn't be flirting."
"Exactly," I rolled my eyes. "Finally you agree with me."
She smacked her lips and looked down chuckling. "Okay next topic, remember you came to me because you needed help with Vanessa?"
I nodded.
She looked back up. "Well, I want my best friend to help me out with something."
"Ughhh what now."
She hit my arm and sighed. "I'm scared of umm Rain..."
I frowned and sat up slightly. "Like...Physically?"
I'll cut a bitch.
"No dummy, you didn't let me finish."
"Well, who the hell ends a sentence like-"
"Shut up," she rolled her eyes. "I'm scared of Rain asking me to be his girlfriend."
"There was no need to word it like that," I mumbled before raising a brow. "Wait why? You don't like him?"
"No I do but...One of the main reasons I don't want to be with you is because I'm afraid you'll break my heart and well..."
"He already has."
She nodded. "Yeah and, we've definitely been getting closer, like back to when we first started to date close. I'm just not sure if I want to be his girlfriend right now- And if he does ask me and I say no then what?"
I shrugged. "Then you say no," I chuckled. "You know I'm not the right person to come to with relationship problems but, maybe if you talk to him and make sure your both on the same page you won't have to worry about him randomly asking you."
"Yeah well, what do I say? Hey, I just wanna make sure you're not planning on asking me to be your girlfriend anytime soon, oh why? Because you broke my heart once and I'm not a hundred percent sure I want to be with you again even though I definitely have feelings for you."
Oh?
I looked down.
Of course, she has feelings for him...I'm glad she finally has someone to move on with. Maybe we'll eventually reach the end of this long-ass "story" then.
"Say exactly that," I shrugged looking back up at her. "Don't hold anything back trust me, it doesn't help anyone."
"You would know huh?"
I scoffed. "Bitch you would know."
She chuckled. "Yeah yeah."
-
"Y/n I don't fucking trust you." Summer grumbled as she held my hands that covered her eyes.
"Stop being a baby I got you- oh shit."
Summer tripped over a rock and I quickly caught her.
She huffed and stopped walking. "Vanessa come and-"
"I got thisssss."
Summer shook her head and we continued up to the front door.
It was Christmas Eve and it was time to give Summer her Christmas gift.
What's that you might ask?
I pushed the doorbell and Summer hummed.
"Are we at a celebrity house?
I scoffed. "A literal celebrity is holding you right now, I'm offended."
"Eh."
Vanessa chuckled next to me and I rolled my eyes.
The door finally opened and I dropped my hands from Summer's face.
She chuckled slightly. "Mom, dad? Didn't I just leave you two?"
She pulled them into a hug as we all walked into the house.
Her mom nodded. "Yes you did but, have you looked around yet?"
Summer looked up and around at the inside of the house. "Ohhh our old home..." she turned to look at me. "I'm not really understanding..."
I rolled my eyes and leaned towards Vanessa. "Oh my God, your friend is an idiot."
Vanessa nodded and Summer rolled her eyes before glancing at her parents. "What's going on?"
"Baby," her dad placed his hand on her shoulder. "We're home."
"Home..." She looked around again and then her eyes widened as she looked at Vanessa and I. "Home?" Her eyes teared up and she gasped turning back to her parents. "S-Seriously?"
They nodded and chuckled as Summer pulled them into another hug.
I smiled as I tossed my arm over Vanessa's shoulder who was wiping away a tear.
Two presents down, four to go.
-
"So," Summer started as she sat across from me next to Vanessa. "Want to know why my parents weren't here in the first place?"
I nodded eagerly.
Vanessa chuckled as Summer started. "Well, when I was six my parents weren't the richest. With my heart disease, they had to spend soooo much money and eventually they went broke. My parents decided to get a bunch of loans which put them in even more debt. They were threatened with jail time and a lot more so...They had to leave the country."
Ohhh.
"Um they couldn't bring me with because the best treatment I could get is here so, I stayed with Vanessa and her parents. My parents eventually paid everything back but they couldn't get back here because my dad went to prison before and this country is very petty."
"What'd he go to prison for?"
"Assault, he was in a bar and someone was fighting someone else and that person tripped and knocked my mom over but didn't apologize so my dad got mad and they got into a fight. Since my dad threw the first punch, and the guy he hit was loaded, my dad went to prison for eight months."
"And they wouldn't let him back in because of that?"
She nodded. "Also because he was born and raised for a portion of his life in Mexico since his parents traveled a lot. They decided to just stay and raise him there so he technically isn't a legal citizen. And I know this might not seem that sad and big but, it really is fucking huge. My condition actually got worse after they left due to the amount of stress I was in so again, thank you."
I shook my head. "Hey, don't worry about it," I hummed. "Wait, how did I help? Vanessa, what did you make me sign?"
She chuckled. "You should've read it but, I got him a visa and had his conviction pardoned by a judge, who just so happens to have two daughters who love you. I had you sign a paper stating you agreed that his charge should be pardon but then I had you sign those two pieces of paper to give to his daughters."
I chuckled. "Well good job Vanessa. Also thanks for stealing my thunder, Summer was supposed to think I did all of this."
"Oops well, you asked."
I rolled my eyes. "Whatever, anyways I have a million other things to do sooooo, I'll see you at midnight right? Summer now that I think about it you can stay here with your parents if you want."
She nodded. "I'll let you know."
"Good, well see you later then."
Vanessa leaned over and pecked my lips before I stood and headed towards the door.
Okay, now on to the next.
-
I pouted and crossed my arms. "You didn't get me a gift Jazzy?"
Jasmine hummed. "Possibly not."
I stood up and walked towards her. "I guess I shouldn't give you this then." I held a box out towards her. She stopped fixing her makeup and turned to me. She reached out for the box but I quickly pulled it away. "Nope, you didn't get me anything."
"Fuck off." She took the box from my hand and I chuckled as she opened it. She looked up at me with wide eyes before looking back into the box. "No fucking way."
She pulled out the ring pop wrapper and shook her head. "This isn't it."
I raised a brow and pulled back the wrapper that was ripped perfectly down the side. "Isn't it."
She gasped as she looked down at the wrapper we both signed, back when everything wasn't so confusing.
She ran her thumb over the ink and chuckled as I reached forward pulling out a piece of old paper. "I even have the note."
"Both?" She raised a brow.
I chuckled. "Yes Jazzy both, I'll definitely read your note eventually."
She groaned. "Just don't talk shit when you read it."
"Same for you." I nodded down at the piece of paper.
She shook her head and sat everything down after pulling me into a hug. "Thank you Y/n, this is definitely the best gift ever."
I nodded. "Don't boost my ego."
She chuckled and nodded. "Your right let me stop."
I leaned against her desk and raised a brow. "So where is Rain taking you?"
"No idea."
I hummed. "Has he seen you without your make up yet?"
"Ummm yeah? When we were back in-"
"Has he seen you without it on since he's been back?"
She shrugged. "No, I don't think so."
I nodded. "He's definitely taking you swimming, your catfishing ass."
She laughed loudly. "Shut the fuck up, at least I'm cute under my make up bitch. You just ugly period."
"Wooooww that's what we doing?"
"That's what we doing."
-
"Go put your stuff on." Travis nodded and ran upstairs as I turned to Quincy and glared. "I'm guessing you and Jasmine are sharing my gift?"
He smirked and hummed. "I just put my name on it, your gift was all Jasmine."
I bit my lip. "S-Should that concern me?"
"Well, I lied. I actually did help some."
I shook my head. "Once again, should that concern me?"
"No bitch."
I chuckled and pulled a box out of my pocket before handing it to Quincy. "Merry Christmas."
He grabbed the box and slowly opened it. "Dammit Y/n, you always one up yourself."
I chuckled as he walked over and pulled me into a hug. "Of course I do."
He pulled away and looked down at the ring. "How'd you get my grandmas ring?"

Tales From the Terran Republic
We tried, you know… We really did. We tried so hard to be… better… We actually were better once. No, seriously. We were enlightened, generous, peaceful… Stop laughing! We were! We were peaceful, dammit! No, I’m not “tugging your winglets.” It’s true! Look, if you’re going to be like that, I’ll just push the launch button right now. See ya, don’t wanna be… Oh, you ARE interested after all? Ok. Hey, I just got word that your captain will be ok. We were able to get him into a med pod quick enough… Of course, we tried to save him. Just what sort of people do you think we are?... Now that was harsh… completely accurate, mind you… but harsh. Anyway, like I was saying, we were a prosperous, peaceful people, and war had been nothing but a distant memory for over five hundred years before it happened... Before Yellowstone happened! You don’t mean to tell me that you didn’t know about that… massive supervolcano? Blew the Hell out of our planet? Two years where nothing grew?… Anyway, that’s what started it, the Sol Wars… Oh, you have heard about those, huh? Well, needless to say, all that enlightened, generous, and peaceful didn’t exactly make it through the two years of complete famine and the wars that followed… Maybe it’s more accurate to say the enlightened, generous, and peaceful among us didn’t survive… (laughs)… You’re right. It does explain a lot, doesn’t it? Probably for the best, though. “Enlightened” and “peaceful” aren’t really all that useful out here in the galaxy at large, are they? That reminds me; thanks for the ship. You guys did a great job with this one. Oh, don’t be like that. At least it was us what got you and not one of the really messed groups like the Harlequin or the Black Angels. We’re just going to take your shit. It could be worse… trust me... Well, anyway, we loaded the life pods down with some good food, and you guys can drink alcohol, right? We put in a couple of fifths in there, too. It’s about forty percent ethanol, so be warned. Most species will want to dilute that. We’ll drop your wounded off somewhere safe once they are stable. Your fleet patrols this area fairly regularly, and we’ll drop the distress beacon right before we jump… Well, It’s been fun and no hard feelings, right?… Oh, you want to know some more? Sure. I got time to kill… Let me tell you about this one pirate and her crew. They’re Terran scum, but they are still… Why do we hate the Terrans? Hoo Boy… How much time you got? *** It’s the thirty-second century, and humanity is now part of a galactic civilization comprised of hundreds of worlds. Humanity has been savaged by natural disaster and war and has been fractured into several separate populations, all of which loathe each other (some things never change). This is a gritty drama-driven rambling tale that swings between action, drama, horror, and plenty of very, very dark comedy. Warning: contains adult situations, absolutely horrible language, bathroom humor, implied ultra-violence, actual ultra-violence, drugs, alcohol, pirates, mercs, xeno prostitutes, moral ambiguity, deranged AI's with identity issues, giant commie space slugs, and a poor little frog girl who just wants to sell coffee. Updates twice weekly on Tuesday and Friday. *** Note: This story can get rough. Those warning tags? They aren't for show. I recently received a review and as a result I want to make one thing clear. Portraying something is NOT endorsing it! Many "heavy" topics are touched upon and just because a character says or does something does not imply that the author feels the same way. I selected the "Anti-Hero Lead" and "Villainous Lead" tags for a reason. Rule number one of this story is "no good guys". A good description of the story is, "bad people doing bad things to worse people". There are a few good characters, here and there, but they are the exception to the rule. If you want a hard-hitting, exciting, gritty sci-fi story that doesn't pull any punches, or shies away from "difficult" concepts, welcome! If you are set on a pure and noble knight that runs around and slays conveniently evil monsters and rescues totally innocent princesses... or your sensibilities are easily offended... You're not going to be happy with this one.

“You first caught my attention when you stole the Giant’s Sovereignty. “I took note of your ability when you slew the King of Monsters. “And I found myself in awe after seeing you—” “Can you spare me the monologue? The Errant Otherworlder Watanabe
“In this world nothing can be said to be certain, except death, taxes and trucks whom transport men to other worlds.” Meet our titular protagonist Haruto Watanabe, a man who has all the markings of a good protagonist for a generic portal fantasy story. As an overworked office worker, to escape from the grips of crippling capitalist alienation, he had taken up to reading many stories where young men like him were transported to other worlds and enjoyed their lives at a most leisurely pace. Armed with genre-awareness and (what he believes to be) a marketable personality which would make him an easy audience self-insert, he longed for the day the isekai express would take him to his long-awaited adventure to another world. When the fateful day came, where the fair yet harsh mistress that is the fabled truck took Watanabe on one last date to the other side, he was most ready to escape his previous life, ready to embark on an errant so great he’d be most overpowered, his heroics so exceptional and his harem so vast that they would barely fit ten or twenty volumes of an overly long novel made by a desperate author looking for quick cash. Lo and behold however, Watanabe instead found himself in a low fantasy world which lacked severely in the department of any game-like systems, cheat skills or easily charmed damsels in distress. In a setting so antithetical to his established genre savviness or any attempts at power fantasy, how will a man like Watanabe, lacking in strength, wits and courage, manage to survive in a land most foreign to him? This is my first time trying to share to the wider world what I’ve written, and I hope you’ll enjoy reading the errantry of Watanabe as much as I enjoy writing about them. I'll be posting one chapter per week on Sundays, along with extra chapters whenever I get the chance to write more than usual.
