I chuckled and looked down at Y/n who was playing her game while resting back on my stomach.

"Timmie finally got his cast off."

She scoffed. "Finally? It's only been three or so months."

"Yeah but you barely broke his wrist," I smirked looking back at my phone. "Weak ass."

"Get hurt mama."

My cheeks warmed slightly at the name and I rolled my eyes. "Don't you think you should save that name for sex? I mean the shit you were saying last night before you said mama..."

And there go the butterflies.

But not in my stomach.

"That's not fair you call me baby when we're having sex."

My phone pinged and I opened the message from Summer.

I chuckled. "Woahhh you didn't even let me finish."

She paused the game and pouted looking up at me. "Yeah because I don't want you to speak it into existence."

"Because you're jealous?"

She raised a brow. "Oh really? So I can try and get back with Summer because damn her ass is-"

I slapped her forehead. "Stop."

She smacked her lips and unpaused her game before mocking me. "Stop."

I smiled and quickly pecked her forehead before looking back at my phone.

Dammit Summer.

I sat my phone down and ran my hand through my hair as Y/n groaned and threw her controller down.

She jumped up and turned to me causing me to flinch as she gripped my cheeks.

I smiled. "The hell is wrong with you?"

She shrugged and stared into my eyes for a minute before leaning closer. "Did you know I have a crush on you?"

My heart fluttered.

"I would hope it's a little bit more than a crush."

She shook her head. "Nope, just a hugeeee ass crush."

I hummed as she pressed her lips onto mines causing me to smile and grab her waist. She tilted her head deepening the kiss as my stomach went fucking crazy. She sat on my lap causing me to laugh breaking the kiss.

Y/n pouted and pecked my nose. "I was trying to let you be the man of the relationship for once but I mean you didn't even squeeze my ass," she looked over her shoulder. "Do I not have a fatty?"

I chuckled and quickly grasped her butt causing her to look back at me and gasp. "Fucking gay ass."

"Oh my gosh Y/n shut up."

She smiled and hummed. "Sorry I just wanted you to laugh."

"Why?"

"You look like you have a lot on your mind," she shrugged. "Wanna talk about it?"

Do I want to tell her how Summer is still in love with me after all these years and that I don't know what to do about it? Do I want to tell her that at one point I was also in love with Summer and because she was my first love some of those feelings might still there?

No, I don't.

"It's nothing I can't handle."

She nodded slowly. "Just know I'm here if you need to tell me anything."

"Um well-"

"See Summer Y/n is a bottom."

I sighed as Y/n climbed off of me and smacked her lips. "I'm never a bottom bitch."

"Show me I'm a bitch Y/n."

She stood up as I chuckled and looked at Summer who was watching them. I got off the bed causing her to look at me and slowly start over as I held my arms open.

I know I hurt her feelings...I've done that a lot but, I don't know what to do in a situation like this.

I glanced at Y/n who was talking to Jasmine's stomach. Jasmine had her hand on top of Y/n's head smiling down at her as Y/n smiled up at her.

Imagine losing your best friend because neither one of you can work out your feelings, feelings that are so obvious yet so distant...

Summer wrapped her arms around my waist causing me to wrap mines around her neck.

Jasmine looked up and met my eyes as if she heard my thoughts. She bit her lip and sighed before looking down and taking a subtle step away from Y/n.

That shit must be hard to handle.

I looked down at Summer who had her eyes closed causing me to close mines and rest my chin on top of her head. I inhaled deeply and tried to ignore my heart skipping a beat as Y/n's voice sounded.

"Okay, I'm confused why are they hugging like they haven't seen each other in years even though they live together?"

"I'm confused," Jasmine said as she waddled towards the bed. "Why aren't you minding your own business."

Y/n scoffed as I chuckled. "Hey y'all are in my house everybody can get out."

Summer smacked her lips and pulled away from the hug. "I didn't even do anything."

"Your right Winter you can stay but you two gotta-"

"You not kicking shit out." Jasmine said as she finally made it to the bed and went to sit causing Y/n to rush over and help her sit. "Mhmm."

Y/n rolled her eyes as both Summer and I sat onto the bed.

"Wow, thanks for saving me a spot."

"Come here." I chuckled opening my arms.

She smiled and instantly laid in my arms leaning back and resting her head on my shoulder. I kissed her cheek and smiled tucking my face into her neck.

"You two are kind of cute together." Jasmine mumbled looking down at her phone.

"You and Eric are cute together." I turned to look at Jasmine waiting for a reaction.

She chuckled and shook her head. "Oh trust me we are not-" she paused and looked at Y/n who was watching her. "Yeah, we're really getting closer he's um great."

Y/n chuckled and picked up her controller going to Netflix. "Cute."

Jasmine rolled her eyes and looked back at her phone making me look at Summer who was already looking at me.

This has been happening for a while now. Everything would be fine and then either Y/n or Jasmine will say something lowkey shady and they will have a silent argument then go back to being all cuddly.

Maybe I should let them talk alone since I need to talk to Summer alone.

"Aren't you two going on a date tonight?" Jasmine asked.

See? No need to bring that up.

Summer frowned. "You didn't tell me about a date."

"Yeah I kind of forgot-"

"Wowww so this date isn't important to you then?" Y/n pouted as I chuckled pushing her off of me and standing up.

"Shut up, Summer come with me to get some snacks."

She jumped up and followed me out of the room.

"Don't touch my damn cheesecake!"

"Whatever!"

We made it downstairs and I slowly turned around. "You okay?"

Summer hummed and walked towards the cabinets. "Why wouldn't I be?"

"Come on Summer I'm Vanessa your best friend since we were three."

She sighed and turned looking at me. "I just thought that after...nothing Nessa I just need you to be happy."

I rolled my eyes. "You always tell me we may not have forever together so what's the point of you keeping things a secret?"

She bit her lip and looked down. "I've been keeping a lot of secrets from you lately," she shrugged. "What's one more?"

My heart fell as I could only think what these "secrets" were.

"What do you mean?"

"I'm pretty sure you know-"

"No I fucking don't talk to me." I frowned walking up to her.

She sighed. "What did I tell you the first time you came to me swooning over Y/n?"

"What does that have to do-"

"Just answer the question baby."

I shook my head trying to remember. "You said that you could already tell she'd make me happy but-"

"Exactly, that means you should focus on that happiness."

"Summer-"

She cupped my cheeks. "Focus on that happiness mon amour."

Ughhh.

I sighed knowing there was no getting through to her, at least not right now. "Okay Princess."

She smiled softly and hummed. "Snacks?"

"Sure."

"You look good V chill." Jasmine shook her head as she continued to stuff her face.

I sighed looking at myself in the mirror. I've been on a date with her before so why am I so nervous?

"I know I look good but this is Y/n were talking about I have to look perfect because-"

I fell forward as a pillow hit the back of my head causing me to instantly turn around and face a laughing Jasmine. "I-I'm sorry you just have to chill. Y/n wouldn't care if you were dressed in joggers and a stained sweatshirt she would still find you beautiful," Jasmine shrugged looking down at her food. "That's just the type of person she is," she sighed before shaking her head and looking at me. "Know what come here."

I slowly went over to sit next to her. "Yeah?"

She took a ponytail holder out of her hair and quickly reached forward causing me to jump back.

"What are you doing?"

"Shut up and come here." She pulled me back into her and started to put my hair up in a bun.

I frowned. "Are you trying to sabotage my date."

She chuckled. "Trust me V, if I wanted to sabotage your date I would."

"Well, that makes me feel better," my body slowly relaxed as she finished. "Question why aren't you trying to sabotage our date?"

Jasmine sighed and shrugged looking down at her fingers once she finished. "Because I want Y/n to be happy and I know you can do that."

I shook my head. "I still don't understand J, you could make her happy too so why me?"

"Because...why are you so worried?"

"I don't want to be happily in love with Y/n and then you come out of nowhere telling her you want her and then Y/n leaving me for you."

"Look the world knows I'm in love with Y/n, I have been since the first day I laid eyes on her which was honestly the best day of my life, let's keep that a secret between us though? Anyways even though I'm in love with her I know what's best for her- what's best for me. No point in trying to pretend like I'm doing this for her when I'm only worried about myself because I know she'll be fine," she shook her head. "But when you love someone more than they love you it's never a good idea to be with them if you can't handle being hurt again."

She looked up at me and shrugged. "I won't lie Quincy fucked me up because...you know and there was this one girl before I met Y/n and Quincy but that's a story for another day point is I learned my lesson and I know that being with Y/n, no matter how much I want to, isn't a good idea."

"Trust issues suck huh?" She nodded and I groaned. "I shouldn't tell you this but that whole trust issue thing is stupid. Now trust me I get it I mean, after D-David I um didn't even want to be touched but I realized pretty quickly that pushing everyone away was the worst thing I could do. Moral of the story you can't let the past fuck up your future because then in the further future you'll look back at the past and realize that you missed out on a lot."

She nodded slowly. "Kind of wise V."

"Thanks."

She cleared her throat. "Go put on some sweats and a sweater."

The doorbell rang and my eyes widened as I looked down at my phone seeing a message from Y/n.

"Shit I think that's her."

Jasmine nodded. "Change, I'll go let her in."

I helped her up and watched as she walked out of the room. Going to my closet I quickly grabbed my clothes and changed.

Let's just have a good time on this date yeah?

I headed downstairs and winced as Y/n turned around.

Shit, this makes it look like I'm not interested in the date-

"Damn."

I stepped off the final step as she walked up to me running her eyes down my body. "Damn?"

She smiled softly placing her hands onto my waist. "You know I love it when you go natural all the way," she shrugged. "It really shows how beautiful you are."

I smiled looking down as my heart did a thing. "Man, that was corny."

She chuckled and tilted my head up raising a brow. "Yup but you're blushing which means you liked it."

"Correction, loved it."

I stared into her eyes as my heart raced due to the look she was giving me.

Jasmine cleared her throat causing us to look at her as she nodded towards the door. "You two should go before it gets too late."

Y/n nodded walking towards her. "Are you staying here?"

"Yeah, I'll hang out with Summer once she gets back."

"So you're going to be alone for-"

"Y/n."

She pouted and nodded turning to me. "Fine let's go beautiful."

I glanced at Jasmine who nodded and winked at me.

"Have a good time guys."

"Thanks, bye J."

We started towards the door. "Make sure your sleep by ten Jazzy."

"Yeah yeah."

"What do you mean watch my step," I chuckled placing my hands on Y/n's which were covering my eyes. "I can't see."

She chuckled. "Right my bad but we're almost there."

I felt the bottom of my sweats get wet as we stepped into what seemed like tall grass. "Where the hell-"

"Shhhhh," she whispered in my ear as she kissed the side of my neck causing me to shiver. "I'm going to let you go but I'll need you to spin yeah?"

"Like in circles."

"Nah in squares- yes in circles." I smacked my lips as she dropped her hands. "Now spin."

I slowly began to spin trying not to fall and she chuckled. "Keep going?"

"Yup."

I spun twice more before she grabbed my wrist. "Okay, open your eyes."

My eyes slowly opened and I looked around as a bunch of fireflies flew up into the sky.

It was beautiful.

"Wow," I chuckled looking around before looking back at her. "I mean wow."

"You like?"

"I love," I grabbed her hand looking back up. "How'd you find this place?"

She shrugged. "My um...my mom used to bring me here for picnics and stuff."

I watched as a small smile formed on her face which made my heart warm.

"Anyways follow me." Still holding my hand she walked us over to a blanket laying on cut grass. "Time for our romantic dinner under the moonlight."

I smiled as we both sat. "You must love picnics huh?"

She shrugged opening the basket. "Well, my mom taught me that the best dates are those where your alone with your partner."

"Well she was right."

Y/n nodded. "I know and you wonder why I'm such a romantic." She flicked her hair behind her head causing me to shake my head.

"Hmmm, I don't remember ever saying that."

"Aww come on mama you don't have to front it's just us." She smirked pulling out some containers of food.

"Whatever, so what's our meal for the night?"

"Right so I prepared a nice chicken and shrimp Alfredo because let's be honest I'm kind of a hoe for Alfredo."

I chuckled and leaned on my palm. "So you're an um...alfredhoe."

She laughed and nodded. "Exactly," she glanced at me biting her lip before pulling out another container. "Um then of course I have garlic bread- with cheese dip for you."

I gasped. "You remembered?"

"Duh," she sat the container down and shrugged. "And then I have wine and water if your not in the mood for wine but I also brought the water in case we didn't have enough wine then I could turn the water into wine you know?"

I laughed and rolled my eyes. "Oh my God-"

"Literally," she sat the drinks down smiling. "And I, of course, bought cake but the thing is I only bought one slice which means..."

"Which means?"

"That we won't be satisfied with desert so I might have to take you home and well...get more desert."

I hummed. "We'll see how tonight goes maybe we can take this desert back to your house and eat it with the other desert."

She raised a brow and leaned back. "Oohhhh that sounds even better let me put this cake back."

I chuckled and pushed her shoulder as she pulled out two plates and paused. "Shit almost forgot the candles."

I chuckled as she pulled out two candles and a lighter. "Wow, you're really showing off huh?"

"I kinda have to for you I mean," she ran her eyes down my body. "You get it."

"No, I don't think I do."

She lit both candles and then looked up at me. "Well your fucking gorgeous even in- especially in sweat pants and a messy bun," she scoffed as I felt my cheeks warm. "And even though I absolutely love the natural look I can't wait to take you on dates to fancy restaurants and drool over how good you'll look in a dress with your hair done and your eyes popping- ohhh fuck don't get me started on those eyes- no fuck that don't get me started on that damn smile I mean..."
