"Dog you better not leave me for her." I pointed at Dog who stood between Jasmine and I looking lost.

"Dog don't listen to her come to mommy." Jasmine said in the usual dog voice.

Dog started to go towards her and I yelled. "Dog bring your ass here now!"

He spun around and ran towards me barking. "Oh you like authority huh?" Jasmine stood up straight. "Dog come here this instant!"

Dog paused midway to me and turned towards Jasmine tilting his head. "Yup come here now." She said sternly.

"How about," Kayla walked up to Dog and picked him up. "You two leave so my dick appointment can come over and not be slowed down." She handed Dog to me and started to push me towards the door.

"Ohhh dick appointment, can I join?" I joked.

"Don't make me snitch." Jasmine said walking with me to the door.

"Snitches get stitches." I pulled open the door.

"No, snitches get bitches." Jasmine replied walking out of the house.

"Ha she got you there." Kayla laughed.

I rolled my eyes and turned to her. "Whatever that was lame as hell but, thank you so much for watching my son."

She rubbed Dog's head and smiled. "Anytime Y/nn."

I gave her a quick hug and walked to the car, climbing into the drivers seat and handing Dog over to Jasmine. "Okay, let's go back to your house." I started the car and took my phone out of my pocket giving it to Jasmine.

"This car is about to burst into flames from the heat imma deliver." Jasmine said going to Apple Music.

"The hell are you doing?" I asked backing out of the drive way.

"Um, playing music?" She glanced at me.

"No shit," I started down the street. "Why are you on Apple Music when Spotify is superior?"

"What?" She looked at me and scoffed. "Dog tell Y/n that she sounds like a dumbass."

He barked and wagged his tail. "Traitor." I mumbled.

"See he agrees with me, Apple Music is way better." She shrugged.

"Alright let's argue, tell me how Apple Music is better than Spotify." I tapped on the steering wheel.

"First of all you have more variety-"

I cut her off. "That's a lie already."

"No listen with Apple Music you can find albums from years ago." She tried explaining.

"Okay, same thing with Spotify, your point?" I asked.

"Name one old underrated album on-" She glared at me as I cut her off again.

"Acid Rap by Chance the Rapper, try again." I smirked.

"First of all trash." She said.

I gasped. "Go jump off a fucking bridge how dare you disrespect Acid Rap, not even just Acid Rap, how dare you disrespect Chance the Rapper."

"Oh shut up and get off of his dick," she laughed.

"That dick is worth a lot of money but go off." I shrugged.

She rolled her eyes. "Back to my point, Apple Music has-" my phone rang. "I get cut off one more fucking time." She mumbled looking down at my phone.

"Who is it?" I asked.

"Summer, answer it?" She asked.

I nodded. "Yeah."

"Hello." Summer said.

"Hey what's up?" I asked.

"Um, I know your probably mad at me right now but I thought you'd want to know that Vanessa is in the hospital." She rushed out.

My heart dropped and I sat up. "What happened? Is she okay? What hospital are you at?" I fired a bunch of questions at her.

"Y/n calm down, she just um..." she trailed off. "Broke her arm."

I let out a sigh of relief and leaned back in my seat. "Okay, what hospital are you at I'll come see her."

"St.Mary's, I'll see you in a little bit." She said.

"Yeah definitely." I replied.

She cleared her throat. "Bye."

I nodded. "Bye."

After a moment of silence Jasmine scoffed. "She didn't hang up," Jasmine hung the phone up and snickered. "You two are so awkward."

"Shut up, I'll drive you and Dog home before I go there." I said.

"I want to come, I'd prefer not to be home alone, so we can drop him off at your house and then go to the hospital." She said.

I nodded. "Deal, do you want to take him in?"

She scoffed. "And walk in on Quincy fucking another guy? No thanks."

"I doubt he's with anyone considering the fact he's trying to figure out ways to get you to forgive him." I glanced at her.

"It's gonna take a lot for me to forgive him," she shook her head. "What he did really hurt."

"Yeah I know he's kind of a dick for that." I said.

She nodded. "Yeah kind of."

"Do you want me to stay at your house for a while?" I asked.

She sighed. "No just, let me keep Dog, even though Quincy fucked up he still needs his best friend."

"Yeah your right, I haven't even checked on him yet." I chuckled.

"Fucking strong as broke his nose." She laughed.

"Yeah I kind of Hulked out." I said.

"Well, thank you for hulking out for me." She smiled.

"Anytime Jazzy."

"How'd you break your damn arm Nessa?" I asked as we walked into Vanessa's hospital room.

Jasmine smacked my back. "Rude ass," she turned to Vanessa. "Are you okay?"

Vanessa chuckled and nodded. "I'm fine, this isn't my first broken bone."

I shook my head and glanced at Summer who was already staring at me. "Hey." She smiled.

I smiled back and put my hands in my pockets. "Hey."

"Oh, I think the doctor said only one person can be in here at a time." Vanessa cut in.

Summer frowned. "When did he say that?"

"When you weren't looking, anyway I'd like to catch up with Jasmine so you two get out." She said.

"Wait, she wasn't looking what does that have to do with hearing?" I asked.

"Oh my God you idiot just get out." Jasmine rolled her eyes and sat next to Vanessa.

I raised my hands and opened the door. "Assholes, come on Summer."

Summer glared at Vanessa and walked out the door. "Thank you," she said after I closed the door behind us.

"No problem," I shrugged as we started down the hall. "Summer I'm sorry for being an ass yesterday."

"You weren't being an ass, you were reasonably upset so I'm sorry." She bit her lip and looked up at me.

Stopping I grabbed her hand and sighed. "You still have feelings for me right?"

She quickly nodded. "Of course I do bébé."

"Then why won't you let me say it?" I asked.

She shook her head and pulled me towards some seats by the vending machine and we both sat. "Y/n I'm just not ready."

"Ready?" I shifted in my seat. "Just because I say it and mean doesn't mean we have to jump into a relationship," I said making sure I didn't slip the word love into my sentence.

"No, I'm not ready to here you say it, shit I'm not even ready for you to love me." She leaned back in her seat.

"It's a little too late for that." I looked down.

"I know and I'm sorry." She said.

"Jeez Summer don't apologize because I love you." I looked at her and frowned.

She closed her eyes and let out a shaky breath. "There you go again."

"I don't understand why it's so bad, are you that scared to be loved by me?" I bit my lip starting to feel insecure.

Am I that bad?

"Yes, yes I'm that scared to be loved by you." She exclaimed.

"Why?" I asked, my voice starting to rise.

"Y/n just drop it!" She stood.

I followed her actions. "I can't fucking drop it Summer."

She scoffed and turned to walk away but I grabbed her wrist. "What's wrong with me?" I whispered.

She tensed and turned to me. "Y/n-"

"Just tell me so I can fix it," I pulled her closer to me. "I-I'll fix myself."

"You don't need to be fixed I honestly don't even know what that means," she scoffed. "Your first thought was to think that there's something wrong with you but that couldn't be further from the truth." She cupped my cheek. "I'm the problem, I have a lot of problems and I don't want any of my problems causing you too have a broken heart."

"Baby we all have problems, shit I have a lot of problems too but that's not gonna stop me from being happy." I gripped her hand.

She looked down and rested her hand on my shoulder. "I'm so scared to hurt you."

"Then don't," I shrugged.

"It's not that easy." She sniffed.

I gripped her chin and lifted her head seeing a tear roll down her cheek. "Okay, I don't know what it is but if it's bad enough to make you cry then I get it," I pulled her into me wrapping my arms around her. "I get that your scared, I don't know why, but I understand."

She shook her head and wrapped her arms around my neck burying her face into my chest. My heart broke as she let out a sob. "Forget what I said about not hurting me, if your problems are inevitable and they eventually lead to me getting hurt then so be it, I love you so much and you can't protect me from whatever it is your scared of because I'm already in too deep. And I know that's not what you want to hear but it's the truth, so because of that you can't push me away."

I held her tighter as I felt her tears start to soak through my shirt. "Let me love you as hard as I can for as long as I can before I get hurt, and you do the same, you give me all of your love and I promise when that problem eventually comes into play we'll be fine and we'll fight through it," I leaned back looking into her eyes and smiling. "Thuggy Y/n will always, and I mean always, fight for and with you."

She chuckled and wiped her eyes. "You promise?"

I kissed her forehead. "I promise Winter."

She inhaled shakily and leaned up pecking my lips. "Then let's fight."

I hummed. "First, you have to say it with me."

She frowned her eyebrows. "Say what?"

"I love you," I glanced at her lips. "But you have to mean it, don't say it if you don't mean it."

She smiled softly and caressed my cheek. "I love you so much more Y/n."

"Thank God." I chuckled and pressed my lips against hers, feeling a weight being lifted off of my shoulders.

She smiled into the kiss then pulled away resting her forehead against mines. "I needed that."

"The kiss or the speech?" I asked.

"Both," she pecked my lips one more time and her smile got bigger. "Thank you for knowing exactly what to say."

I shrugged. "I'm starting to think that's a superpower of mine."

She chuckled. "Make up your mind you can't be a thug with superpowers."

"I so can but, if that's the case then I'll stick to Thuggy Y/n." I nodded.

"Good because I kind of like her." She said tucking her head into my neck.

I hummed and held her tighter while resting my chin on top of her head. I closed my eyes taking in her scent as I basked in the warm filling spreading through my body. I'm definitely not giving up on her, no matter what the problem is I'll always be there for her.

I opened my eyes as I heard a voice speak. "Um, your blocking the vending machine."

Summer pulled away blushing and and I chuckled. "Sorry." I said to the boy and pulled Summer away.

She laughed and shook her head. "I wonder how long it took him to work up the courage to ask us to move."

I threw my arm over her shoulder and pulled her into me as we walked back to the room. "Oh I hope it took him a long time, that would be hilarious."

She nodded and held my hand that was thrown over her shoulder, intertwining our fingers. "I bet you do."

I stopped her outside of the room door and wiped her damp face. "We can't let Vanessa see that you were crying, she might hit me in the head with her cast."

Summer chuckled and kissed the palm of my hand that rested against her cheek. "She's not brave enough to do that."

"I hear you two fuckers out there!" Vanessa yelled.

My eyes widened as Summer laughed. "Oops." She said.

I smiled as her smile got bigger. She's happy and I'm part of the reason why, knowing that makes me feel amazing.

We walked into the room and Vanessa eyes instantly met Summers as they did that silent conversation shit again. I looked at Jasmine who raised a brow and I just shrugged.

I really wanted Summer to tell me about this problem that scares her so much but she didn't, and that's perfectly fine.

I love surprises.
