"Where's Y/n?" I asked Summer walking into the room.

"She's sleeping in the room with her mom and brother." Summer sighed sitting down on the bed.

I frowned. "Why?"

She rolled her eyes. "You know why Vanessa," she leaned against the headboard, "when I told you to be honest with her I didn't mean break her heart even more."

"I didn't try to I just wanted her to know-" Summer cut me off.

"That she'll never have a chance with you?" She raised a brow.

I sighed and sat on my side of the bed. "I'm guessing you're mad at me too."

I heard her shift from behind me. "No just annoyed, you know why?"

I shook my head and laid on my back. "Why?"

"Because you tried to do the same thing to her that you did to me," she scoffed, "I mean you allowed me to fall in love with you just to go back to David."

I closed my eyes. "I don't know what my problem is," I bit my lip and looked up at her, "I'm sorry for hurting you Summer."

She sighed. "I'm not mad at you I'm..." She trailed off shaking her head. "Can I tell you what your problem is?" She laid down turning to me.

I chuckled and faced her. "Please?"

She smiled softly. "You don't know what real love is," she whispered, "you think love is when someone hurts you and then apologizes just to do the same thing over again."

I frowned. "What do you mean."

"You know what Stockholm syndrome is right?" She asked.

I nodded.

"I think you um, have something like that when it comes to relationships." She said.

"I don't get what you're saying." I shook my head. Stockholm syndrome? I'm not that...oblivious.

She reached out and tucked a strain of hair behind my ear. "Your mom and dad."

My mom and dad? "What about them?"

"Vanessa, what did he do to your mom?" She asked softly rubbing my arm.

I shrugged. "I don't know."

"No, that's the problem you know what he did but, you want to believe he did nothing wrong because you, idolized him." She said.

I gulped. "But, he didn't do anything wrong."

"He beat her Vanessa, and he eventually beat her to-" I cut her off.

"Stop talking." I closed my eyes as they started to burn with tears.

He didn't mean to, he loved her.

"David hit you three times before can't you see what's the problem?" She asked. "You think you deserve to be treated like that because your mom was treated like that by the person you loved the most." She scooted closer to me and put her hand on my waist.

It was just an accident.

"I'm sorry if I haven't been understanding or if the things I've been saying seem like I'm mad at you, because I'm not mad at you mon amour." She said.

I shook my head my breathing increasing as I gripped her arm. "It wasn't like that Summer, he accidentally squeezed too hard, she made him mad and he couldn't control himself, he loved her, I know he did."

She pulled my head into her chest. "Shh, just breath okay," she held me tightly, "I need you to calm down."

I gripped her shirt as my tears started to fall rapidly. "You helped Y/n out, you made her feel better, now it's your turn to let someone help you," she ran her fingers through my hair, "you've been through so much, what did you tell me when you found me in the bathroom crying because I peed on myself in front of the whole class."

My heart started to slow down as I laughed. "Don't let the past affect your future."

She hummed. "And what did you tell your brother after he got his heartbroken."

"The same thing." My tears finally stopped.

"No," she whispered, "say it."

"Don't let the past affect your future." I felt her nod.

"I think it's time for you to take your own advice." She rubbed my back.

I looked up at her. "I'm scared, being with someone bad for me means that I'll never get hurt," she went to talk but I continued, "if I were to date Y/n she would treat me like a queen but, what if she changed and became a monster, or she realized that I have too many problems, or that I'm simply not good enough, that would hurt worse than getting hit a couple of times a month."

"Your to fucking strong to be scared of anything Vanessa, and your obviously too strong to let him beat you," she grabbed my face, "your not dumb so don't act like it, you know what you and David have isn't love and you know what your parents had wasn't love either."

I closed my eyes and laid my head on her chest. I know right from wrong but, do I really deserve happiness? If I did deserve to be happy my mom would still be alive and my dad wouldn't be in jail.

I'm not meant to be happy, and I've accepted that a long time ago. Why drag Y/n or anyone else down with my problems?

"I love you Vanessa." Summer said kissing the top of my head.

But, why?

"I love you too Summer."

-

"Wakey wakey Y/nn." I heard Travis say.

I opened one eye to see him jumping on the bed with a big smile. I grabbed a pillow off of the couch I was laying on and threw it at him catching him off guard and making him fall off the bed.

"Ow, MOMM!" He yelled sitting up and rubbing his head.

I quickly closed my eyes as I heard the bedroom door open. "What happened to you?" She asked.

"Y/n threw a pillow at me." He whined.

Suck up.

I fake snored. "Awh come here baby." I heard moving and then the room went quiet.

A little too quiet.

"Ahhh." I heard Travis scream and I quickly opened my eyes to see him and my mom charging at me with pillows.

I instantly got into fetal position as Travis jumped on me and started whacking me with a pillow.

"Take this." He said slamming the pillow down on my head.

"Ahhh stop!" I screamed out trying not to laugh.

"That's right Travis use that right hook I showed you." My mom cheered him on.

I quickly reached my arms out wrapping them around him and squeezing.

"Argh, mom she's trying to squeeze me to death." He chocked out and started to thrash in my arms.

I started to laugh evilly. "Muah ha ha you dare attack me?"

I heard snickering from the doorway and saw everyone but Zayn and Gigi standing there.

"Now look," I said slightly turning my body still squeezing him, "everyone will see just how weak you are." I squeezed harder.

"Travis don't let her beat you in front of everyone!" Quincy yelled out.

"No, not in front of my people!" He yelled and started to thrash in my arms.

I closed my eyes smiling. "This is too easy-" I stopped and let go of Travis as a sharp pain shot through my stomach. "Oof."

Travis jumped up and raised his hands in the air. "I defeated her, no need to worry." Everyone cheered and clapped as I cupped my balls and slowly fell off the couch.

"Oh no, man down." Quincy quickly rushed over to me and rubbed my back.

I coughed. "He got me good." I whined out.

"Shhh it'll be okay," he continued to rub my back, "why are you guys just standing there? Get this girl some ice."

I heard laughter and footsteps. "Don't worry, you'll survive Y/n, I won't lose anyone else because of this."

I nodded as I felt a tear roll down my cheek. "I'm going to die."

"No!" He yelled. "Don't you die on me."

"You two are being overdramatic." I heard my mom say.

I shook my head. "You don't understand my pain."

"Shhh, they'll never understand." Quincy whispered caressing my hair.

"Here's your ice crybaby." I heard as Quincy turned me on my back.

I opened my eyes and saw Summer. "Did I die and go to Haven because I think I see an angel."

She smiled and blushed shaking her head. "Your so lame."

I smiled and looked over her shoulder to see Jasmine standing there with a smile.

I quickly sat up and grabbed the peas from Quincy's hand. "Never mind this must be hell since Jasmines here."

"Hardy har har." She reaches out and smacked the back of my head.

"Mom." I whined.

"Oh shut up and get yourself ready so we can go to breakfast." She grabbed Travis and walked out of the room.

I pouted as Jasmine stuck her tongue out at me.

"Hoe." I flinched at her.

"Bitch." She jumped back.

"I love your guy's fights." Vanessa said.

I looked at her and saw that her eyes were puffy.

"Well, I don't." Jasmine walked out of the room kicking my leg in the process.

I continued to stare at Vanessa who eventually met my eyes. I frowned and tilted my head in a questioning manner. She smiled softly and shook her head.

Did I do that?

She cleared her throat. "Get ready Y/n, I'm starving." She quickly rushed out of the room and Quincy followed her after winking at me.

"Was Vanessa crying?" I asked Summer.

She smiled softly. "Don't worry about it," she reached her hand out and pulled me up, "it wasn't your fault so don't go overthinking stuff."

I nodded and sat the peas down on the couch. "Okay well, did you think about what I asked you Winter?" I asked.

She bit her lip and hummed. "I forgot the question."

I scoffed and wrapped my arms around her waist. "I'm guessing I have to ask you again."

"Obviously if I don't know what you're talking about." She smiled and rested her hands on my shoulders.

I glanced down at her lips feeling butterflies erupt in my stomach at the sight of her smile. "Can I take you on a date tonight?"

She shook her head and leaned closer. "Ask me the same way you did last night."

I chuckled and slid my hands down her arms feeling goosebumps rise and I grabbed her hands. "Hermosa, ¿me dejas llevarte a una cita?" I whispered.

She let out a big smile. "Hell yeah you can take me out."

I chuckled. "I only asked you in Spanish last night because I was nervous."

She wrapped her arms around my neck. "I kind of figured."

I rubbed her waist. "Now, unless you're already ready to take a shower with me I suggest you go wait downstairs with everyone else."

She pushed me away and chuckled. "Tempting, but no, I'll meet you downstairs." She kissed my cheek and walked out of the room.

I let out a sigh and stared at the door.

Ugh, butterflies make me sick.
