Writers POV
"Go on a date with me." Aiden suddenly asked out of the blue
"What?" She asked raising her brows
"Go on a date with me," he said again
"No,"
"Please." She looked at him and saw something different in his eyes something she never saw before, she didn't answer just kept staring at him
"Please go on a date with me?" He pleaded and for some reason she couldn't refuse. She agreed to go on a date with him. He was ecstatic when she agreed to go out with him; he had been trying to ask her out on a date for a long time but the right time had never come. As a result, he chose the wrong time. His pack had just been attacked, and the prisoner he had finally apprehended after such a long time had escaped. But, being in her comfort, he couldn't help but ask her out on a date.

It had been a few days since Prince Aiden had asked her out on a date, and she hadn't seen him much since then. He's always so busy, and whenever he comes to see her, he has this look of stress and anxiety, as well as a defeated look in his eyes. He always tries to conceal it from her, but she can see it through his blue orbs. She doesn't press him to tell because she knows he will eventually, and even if he doesn't, that's fine with her. They'd been having lunch and dinner together in their room for the past few days. Aiden would bring her food for dinner, and they would eat in silence, with only the occasional question about how their days had gone. She hasn't been down to the packhouse since the last time she saw it, and she couldn't be happier. Every morning, she awoke to an empty bed without Aiden; he rises before her and departs. She's been having peaceful nights with him by her side, but there's always that bit of disappointment when she wakes up to an empty bed. But this morning was different; when she awoke, a strong arm was wrapped around her waist, pressing her against a bare warm chest. She turned around to face her mate, who was frowning and tightening his grip on her waist. Her hand caressed the wrinkles that had formed between his brows and his facial expression soften so did his grip on her waist, and her gaze was drawn to all of his facial features. His sharp jaw, a perfect shade of pink lips, the light stubble growing on his face making him look more dangerous, he softly caressed his stubble-filled cheeks, and his striking blue eyes under long lashes. His blue orbs were staring at her hazel ones and that's when she realized he was awake staring back at her with soft blue eyes filled with adoration and love. He smiled and greeted her
"Good morning, love." A soft pink blush painted her cheeks as he caught her touching him while he was asleep.
"Good morning," she pulled her hand away but he placed it back on his cheek with his hand above her. He circled his thumb comforting her
"I could wake up a thousand more years like this and never get tired." He said and she smiled a genuine smile. He kissed her forehead and got up. After Aiden took a shower and went to his closet to change Ariel went to take a shower too. After a shower and dressing up she found Aiden still in their room. He was on his phone and after the call, he turned to face her.

"You are still here," she said
"Let's have breakfast," he smiled and offered his hand for her to take. After a slight hesitation, she placed her hand on his. She thought he was taking her to the packhouse but he stopped at the castles' kitchen and sat her down on one of the bat stools and he started preparing for breakfast.
"What would you like for breakfast?"
"Anything is fine," she replied and he nodded. He took ingredients out of the fridge and placed them on the counter. He folded up his shirt sleeve and started working. The castle was very quiet this morning not even the usual guards were there
"Where is everyone?" She asked
"I dismissed them," he replied while beating eggs in a bowl.
"Why?" She asked again
"I just wanted to spend time with you, alone." She kept staring at him and he gave her a smile going back to making pancakes. He moved around the kitchen and her eyes followed his movement. After a while, he placed a plate full of pancakes with butter in front of her. She looked at the plate and then him with wide eyes
"I know you have a big appetite, no offense." He chuckled
"None taken," it had been over a month since she tasted his pancakes and she almost forgot how amazing they taste. She started eating and he came around and sat beside her. After a few spoonfuls of pancakes, she turned towards him to find him staring at her with an empty plate in front of him. His eyes were filled with adoration, lust, and something different she never saw. She wiggled her brows silently asking why he was staring, he doesn't say anything. He simply placed his hand over her cheek caressing softly. Her beasts were content inside. She felt warmth in his touch, something she craved all these years but never found. He placed a lingering kiss on her forehead and she closed her eyes.
"Finish breakfast and get ready by 3 pm, I'll be here to pick you."
"For what?"
"Our date, love." He smiled and turned around
"And dress casual not too casual though," with that he left. She finished breakfast and went to her studio. Around 1 in the afternoon Megan brought her lunch which she ate in the studio and after that, she went to get ready for their date. Deep down she was excited, all though she forgot to ask where they were going, maybe she'll ask later when he comes to pick her up. Aiden wrapped up his work and was already waiting for her in their living room even before it was 2:30. He was excited and nervous. He wasn't sure if she'd like what he arranged for their first date. He's been pacing back and forth and came to a halt when he heard someone making their way down the stairs. It would be an understatement if he said she looked gorgeous.
She was wearing a black leather skirt that ends around her mid-thigh, with a black sleeveless printed silk shirt with blush pink flowers and a bow to tie on the neck, floral tights, and thigh-high black boots. Her fierce red hair was in a low slick ponytail, light makeup, and finished her look with a black watch, silver hoops, and an emerald green bag. And the black hat completed her look. He was staring at her in awe and soon she was in front of him.

"You look beautiful,"
"Thanks, you don't look bad yourself." She said and a smile graced his handsome face. He was wearing a gray button-up with black jeans and his hair was tousled in style. She doesn't know when he changed his clothes but he looked handsome and nervous. He was good at hiding his feelings but not this time she could see right through the facade and tell he was nervous.
"Shall we?" He offered his hand and she took it. They walked through numerous corridors and finally, they were in the back garden of the castle. A woman in her late thirties was standing there waiting for them. She had long black hair and was wearing all black clothing, she was giving off a powerful aura and she knew she was a witch. She bowed and acknowledged them as soon as they stopped in front her
"Your Highness, My Lady." They nodded in acknowledgment and she started chanting something under her breath and circled her hands in the air in front of her, soon a portal was in front of them and Ariel looked at him with questioning eyes. He gave her a small smile
"Thank you, Ziana." He thanked the witch and he stepped into the portal with Ariel following him. After a few steps they exited the portal, what was in front of her made her gasp and look at it with awe and excitement. Aiden was looking at her with soft eyes and a smile. A smile of relief, his previous questions were answered by the very visible excitement on her face. He placed his hand on the small of her back and ushered her forward
"Let's go,"
The famous Louvre museum's large glass and metal pyramid stood in front of them in its glory and the Renaissance-style architecture that housed several generations of kings and queens. She is delighted that he took her to the Louvre on their first date. She'd been to France several times before, but she'd never had the opportunity to visit the incredible art museum that is a historical monument and the home of the Mona Lisa. They approached the massive glass pyramid and came to a halt in front of a woman in her late thirties. She had a fair complexion, brown hair pinned in a neat bun, and was dressed in a black pencil skirt and a blue blouse. She appeared to be very professional,
"Mr. Dalton?" She asked
"Hello, I'm Aiden Dalton and this is Ariel," he said as she offered her hand
"Nice to meet you. Welcome to The Louvre, I'm Vivienne Tuffin and I was assigned as your private tour guide for the evening. Shall we? " she introduced herself with a light French accent and ushered them into the glass pyramid. Inside there was a line of people trying to buy tickets though this time of the day the museum was less crowded, Vivienne guided them through the huge corridors and stopped in front of a beautiful painting of a woman.
"The Lacemaker, this is a famous painting from 16th century painted by Jo..."
"Johannes Vermeer," Ariel finished Vivienne's sentences and leaned in closer to study the painting. How lovely each stroke was, how precisely the colors were chosen, and how brilliantly the artist brought the blank canvas to life. Aiden couldn't help but admire her beauty, her brows slightly knitted together, awe in her hazel eyes, her fiercer red hair falling in waves, her lips slightly parted as she stood tall with her hands clasped behind her. When the guide resumed speaking, his stance was broken, as was Ariel's concentration. She returned to examine the painting, and Aiden motioned for the guide to move away from her. Ariel noticed him talking with the guide from the corner of her eyes. Soon the guide smiled and shook his hands before leaving. She wouldn't admit it out loud but she felt crowded with her being there and she was feeling a bit giddy inside, it was the first date after all. 'First date' she cannot believe she agreed to go on a date with him! Her actual first date in her whole existence. Her thoughts were cut short when she felt his hand around her waist bringing her closer to his warmth as his scent engulfed her. It felt so perfect to her being with him by his side, she leaned a bit closer to him and that didn't go unnoticed by Aiden. A small smile tucked on his lips. A very small gesture but he felt this was just the beginning, it might have taken her more than seven months to just lean into his touch but he is willing to wait for her. Be it a century, he will wait, for her just to look at him and smile!
_________________________________________
I know their relationship is progressing slowly and it would take a few more chapters for their first kiss. You gotta be patient with Ariel and you have to understand that she never was romantically involved with someone nor she was given the chance to explore life. All she knew growing up and throughout her life was just killing, running, and torture. She learned to never trust anyone so it's not easy for her to trust anyone not even her mate. And how she thinks of life and about the mate concept won't change overnight. Her character needs positive development and that would take time. That's all for today, I have only three more exams left so I hope I will able to update twice a week from then. Have a good day, stay safe. Sending love 💕
