《Promise (Frodo Baggins Fanfic)》Chapter 6

Sorry I've been gone. Just not much motivation for this fanfic anymore. I'll start trying harder:)
~*~*~*~
When I woke up, it was the dead of midnight. Frodo's arms were still wrapped around me as we were laying together in his bed. I gently turned over and looked at him sleeping peacefully. It looked as though it was the first peaceful sleep that he had gotten in ages. Perhaps, then, it was.
My attention was drawn to his finger, or should I say, missing one. It was cut off at the joint, leaving a gash where it once was. I wandered what had happened to him. Where he had gone. Why he wasn't anything like the young, spritely hobbit I once loved. Tears formed in my eyes as I saw his own shift under his eyelids, like horrific images were being played out before him.
He suddenly began to squirm in his slumber, and his face contorted into pain and fear. I sat up and stared down at him, wandering what was happening. Frodo began groaning, and whispering words of protest.
"No..." he murmured. "No...Smeagol...Smeagol NO!" he suddenly shot up and brought his hand to his chest, like he was searching for something that was once there. He desperately started patting his chest, his breathing increasing. "Where is it?" he demanded.
"Where is what...?" I asked inquisitively.
He started to flip the pillows up and fling his quilt around. I quickly jumped off of the bed and stood back in the corner of his bedroom, watching his mad frenzy. "WHERE IS IT?" he screamed at me.
"Frodo, what are you talking about?" I asked, my voice quivering.
"The ring!" he screamed at me. He leapt out of bed and ran towards me. I crouched down and brought my hands to cover my face. "The precious!" he gripped my shoulders tightly and pulled me up. I let out a shriek and slapped him across the face. He suddenly stumbled backwards and fell back-first onto the wooden floor.

It was as though he came-to all of a sudden. His blue eyes suddenly became clear, and the viciousness disappeared from his face. Frodo stood up and began to make his way over to me. I cowered away from him.
"Fara..." he whispered softly, trying to take my arm gently. I pulled it away from his grasp.
"Get away from me, Frodo!" I exclaimed.
"Please, darling let me explain! I wasn't myself, I was sleep walking, I swear!" He reached out for me again but I scurried away from him this time. He looked at me with sorrow and defeat in his eyes.
"I said to get away from me."
Tears began to form in his eyes, causing them to sparkle in the moonlight shining through the window. "There's so much you don't understand, Fara. I'm not Frodo Baggins from the Shire anymore."
I let out a snort. "That much is clear," I remarked. "And you don't know what I've been through. I spent over a year wandering if you were still alive, and having to face the pressures of Ebbo since you've been gone. All the other girls were getting married, but I stayed true to you, no matter how much my mother or friends pressured me into just marrying him. I wanted to marry you, but you left me here in the blue with no prospects and no hope. Just a promise. And I'm not entirely sure that you kept that promise, Frodo Baggins."
He looked at me and slowly shook his head. "And how did I not keep that promise, Fara?" He took a step or two closer to me. "I have returned to the Shire, haven't I?"
I tilted my head to the side. "Your body may have returned to the Shire," I admitted. "Or, at least, most of it, but not you yourself. It wouldn't surprise me if the Ancient Necromancer of Old himself had indeed possessed your body and mind for his own purposes."

He shuddered. "The Necromancer..." he whispered, huddling down on the floor and bringing his head to his knees. "The Dark Lord Sauron."
"What is it?" I questioned, walking over to him. "Why are you cowering like an Orc in sunlight?"
"The Necromancer..." he began. I sat down next to him and listened carefully to what he had to say. "Sam and I...we destroyed him."
~*~*~*~*~
Kinda lack luster I'm sorry. This is going to be a relatively short fic, maybe 15 chapters, I'm sorry fam :(
Please vote and comment though I love to hear your feed back. I'm mainly working on outlawry/outlier right now on my second account, and I'm starting a vampire novel, so if you guys are into that and like my writing, be sure to check it out;)
