《Girl crush Monday (GxG)》Chapter Five

♥Jenny's POV♥
Casey and I walked to my house in silence. I didn't dare say a word to her in the fear of her snapping at me. I didn't want to cause an argument. She might look pretty innocent but if I be damned, I was the cause for her sadness. She didn't even look me in the eye on our way there.
Arriving at my house, she even hesitated when I told her to go in. This girl almost had a heart attack when I brought her to my room. I don't know what her problem was, I wasn't some serial killer or anything. And if I be damned, for sure I wasn't the one who plundered her pretty face.
"Okay, I found it," I announce, walking into my room with my first aid kit in hand.
Right now Casey was seated on my bed, still looking a little shaken. Her head shot up at the sound of my voice. Taking a seat next to her, I patted her thigh for comfort and I noticed that her muscles tensed. Not knowing what her problem was, I removed my hand from her thigh and gently turned her head so that she was facing me. A blush made its way to her cheeks and I was freaking out here! Why was she even blushing?
Taking my time, I cleaned her bruises and then applied the ointment where needed. Placing a plaster on her cheek, I realized that she was still blushing. Our eyes met and we stared at each other for a few seconds. Her eyes moved from my eyes to my lips within an instant. Mine did the same. Her lips were so pink and looked really soft...
'What the f*ck were you thinking Jenny?' I scolded myself as I looked away and got off my bed. "I better um..." I said trying to think of an excuse to get away from her and not sounding mean. At once my doorbell rang and I've never been happier to be annoyed by someone’s presence. Continuing with what I was once saying, I say, "I need to get the door, wait here."

Bolting out of my room I couldn't help but wonder what was wrong with this chick. I'm not a guy, why the hell would she watch me that way. If I didn't know any better I would say that she wanted to kiss me! Good thing I'm not insane and I knew that she was as straight as I was.
Getting downstairs in a flash, I opened my front door to see who it was. This idiot was ringing my doorbell like some maniac. Just as I was about to snap at the person, my mouth hang open in shock. Standing in front of me was this tall, blonde, perfectly tanned individual. He had the most perfect eyes which I knew from anywhere.
"J-James..." I question, staring at my older brother in an unbelievable manner.
"In the flesh, sweetheart… Wow, you look like a guy even more now Jenny, I almost hit on you for a second there," He says, smirking at me. I simply shake my head at his comment but a smile remained on my face.
Not waiting for his permission jumped into James' arms and hugged the life out of him. He squeezed me tightly and whispers a quick, "I missed you so much little sis," in my ear. I said that I missed him too and we stayed in our hugging position for a while. A few minutes after our bonding time, we pulled away.
"Is mom home?" He asks and I could hear the pain in his voice.
"Nope," I reply, popping my 'p'. "She's still at work."
"Great, I better unpack my stuff in the meanwhile," James says, picking up his bags from where he placed them.
Being the curious little prick that I was, I ask, "So what brings you here all of a sudden?" James chuckles at my question. It seems that he was already expecting my question. Entering the house, I close the door and waited for his reply. "I had a really bad break up and needed to go somewhere to clear my mind."

"And you chose the devil's house to do just that?" I ask as we began ascending the stairs together. "At least she would keep my mind off that topic for a month," He replies and I quickly remember what my mother said. She had a business meeting for the month James was coming over. Oh well, she'll tell him that on her own when she gets home.
The two of us headed to my room and I kind of forgot that I had a guest over. As soon as we entered my room, James smirks at me and then comments, "Wow, I see that my little sister is following in my footsteps after all. Hey sweet thing, I'm James, Jenny's older brother."
"I'm Casey, Jenny's friend." With that they shook hands. I figured that Casey didn't quite understand what James meant by 'following in his footsteps' so it was all good.
"You guys are just friends, what a bummer," He says, pouting. I give my brother a playful punch on the shoulder.
"Don't push your luck, big boy," I hiss, giving the 'don't cross the line' look.
Shrugging, he dismisses himself and heads to his old room. As soon as James left my room, Casey shot up from her seating position and starts speaking, "Well it's getting pretty late and I need to get home before my mom kills me."
"I'll drop you off. And if you were wondering, yes, and my brother is gay so don't worry about him. He won't be hitting on anyone," I say, walking Casey out of my room. She nods at me, takes her bag off the floor and follows after me.
Why does this girl seem so shy?! Shy people annoy the crap out of me, God!
As soon as we were downstairs, the front door burst open and Tyler was running towards me. He looks really exhausted. I wonder what on earth was going on.
"Oh my God Jenny, I'm glad I got away from that maniac! Andrew wanted me to clean his attic with him. Ewe! That place is so freaking disgusting!" He exclaims and makes a face. I couldn't help it, I burst out into a laughing fit and I could hear Casey giggling next to me.
"What's all the laughing about?" James asks as he rushes downstairs.
Like in those movies, everything froze. Tyler just stood there staring at the site behind Casey and myself. Our laughter died as were turned to see a shirtless James. I looked between my best friend and my brother, feeling a little confused.
Oh hell no, I need to have a talk with Tyler. I think that my best friend might be gay or a bisexual. How could I have not noticed this sooner?

The Yes-Mage
Plenty of people have stopped and asked what it'd be like to simply have everything, and Sylvain Henry Camille Johansson was no different. He was a man who had a lot of things going on, with a name that'd make a supervillain blush and a family who'd make even the useless of their rank into someone important. It was a shame, then, that he was slapped with a dreadfully unfortunate condition that kept him from living up to any of those already low expectations. Stuck living a life where magic is everywhere while he's left working with nothing more than a moderate intellect, a little bit of whatever influence he could get from his family, and a lifetime's practice at making himself the ideal subordinate for his bosses' boss, Vane was still beating the odds and slowly working his way up in the world. When the cunning yes-man finally got a chance to really make a name for himself, he leapt at the offer, taking his first real step onto a road he knew he was always meant to walk. His goal? Nothing less than finding out why he and too many other unfortunate souls are barred from the wonderful world of the higher energies, and with any luck, fixing it. Of course, life has a knack for interfering in even the humblest of plans, and Vane's lofty ideals were anything but humble; he was practically a walking bullseye for disaster. The funny thing about catastrophe, though, is that nobody can ever say what form it's going to take. That’s why, when it all went wrong for Vane, he'd gotten everything he'd ever wanted foisted onto him, and Everything else, too. Watch as a man so used to saying 'yes' to everyone above him finds himself stuck with the power to make reality itself say it back.

Growth
A fantasy story set in a world after mankind has long passed. Their descendants inhabit the ruins of humanity, barely clinging to survival, plagued by monstrous beasts and blessed with strange powers. Note: Have not edited it at all yet. There will likely be pretty broad changes once I get around to actually reading what I've written.
