《Mondays (Jensoo Convert)》WINTER SPECIAL
Advertisement
Jennie walked towards the front of Jisoo's house with a bouquet of daisies in her hand. She had on a red sweater with a big Christmas tree right in the middle of it. The holidays have always been her favorite and she intended on making this one the best one yet. After a stressful semester in Stanford, she and Jisoo had flown back to Korea for winter break. The other girls did the same and planned out a small reunion to catch up at a local karaoke bar downtown.
She rang the doorbell and waited patiently for her girlfriend. The couple has been dating for almost 7 months but to Jennie it felt like years. Jisoo was so mellow and easy going that it made their relationship ten times better. Minutes passed but there was still no sign of the older girl so she decided to ring the bell again.
"I'm not going!" She heard Jisoo yell from inside the house.
'That was new.' Jennie thought. She rolled her eyes and pounded on the door, "Let's go Chu! We're late! Stop whining!"
There was no response. "JISOO!" Jennie yelled as she pushed the doorbell repetitively. The door finally opened after the 20th ring, revealing a grumpy Jisoo wearing a black leather jacket and a frown. A hint of red fabric can be seen under the jacket.
"I don't want to go." Jisoo huffed crossing her arms in front of her chest. Jennie snickered at her pouty girlfriend, "Babe, what's wrong? You look fine. And can you please take off your jacket, it's warm enough with a sweater."
"No."
"Chu, really? Take off the jacket."
"If you want me to go then I get to kept the jacket."
"You're going to suffer from hyperthermia."
The raven-haired girl only snorted. "Why Jendeukie? Just why. Do you like torturing me?"
"Because it's cute and sometimes." Jennie beamed before offering the daisies to Jisoo. "Here, I brought you daisies." The other girl muttered a 'thank you' as she snatched it and disappeared back in her house.
"Mom! I'm leaving!" Jennie cringed at Jisoo's booming voice and shot her girlfriend a displeasing look when she sauntered her way back. Jisoo lifted her shoulders as she saw Jennie's face, "What?"
"WAIT!" Dara called out in reply. Hasty footsteps rang through the house a few moments later and appeared the woman followed by Jiyoon and Junghun. She had a camera around her neck smiling cheekily at her daughter. "I want a picture of you and Jennie."
Jisoo's eyes widened in panic and shook her head disapprovingly. "No, no, no, no... mom, please, no." This elicited a small giggle came from Jennie causing her to turn head and glare at her brown-eyed lover.
"Why not?" Dara asked in a confused tone. "It's your first Christmas together. I want a picture."
"It's not even Christmas yet!" Jisoo countered turning back to her mom.
"Awww cmon, Chu. Don't you want to remember this for later?" Junghun teased from behind.
"I will end you!" The youngest threatened.
"Babe, let your mom take a picture." Jennie piped up. "We're making memories."
Jisoo growled under her breath. Darn her soft spot for the brunette. "Fine." She gritted through her teeth. "One picture. ONE."
"Okay" Dara smiled brightly as she held the camera up and pointed it towards the couple. Jisoo stood next to Jennie with a straight face.
"Take off your jacket." Jennie told Jisoo, a smug smile plastered on her face. The pale girl looked at her girlfriend and was met with big doe pleading eyes. She took a sharp inhale and peeled her leather jacket off displaying a matching red sweater to what Jennie wore.

"Oh my god, this is priceless." Junghun cackled, taking out his own camera and snapping a picture.
"I hate you so much." Jisoo said shaking her head as she disposed of the black material to the side. She never thought she was the type to wear matching Christmas sweaters on the holidays but there she was.
"You love me." Jennie replied knowingly. She gave Jisoo a quick peck on the cheek before turning to the camera and smiling vibrantly.
"Alright you two, smile for the camera." Dara instructed. Jisoo's cheeks heated up at the simple gesture. She glanced at Jennie and leered at how perfect this moment was. Last Christmas she could have only hoped for Jennie to reciprocate her feelings for her let alone become girlfriends and now it's real.
"Jisoo, look over here honey!" The call of her name caused her to shift her gaze up to the camera. Even with her siblings giggling behind her mom, she grinned widely. Jennie was right they were making memories, one of many more to come. A flash of a camera and another, it didn't end up just being one picture but a whole photoshoot with Jiyoon and Junghun even joining in.
Jisoo didn't want anything to do with that sweater at first glance but for Jennie, she'll do anything.
-
"Aw this one is cute." Yeri cooed at the picture of Jisoo looking at Jennie while the other girl smiled at the camera. The five girls sat at a booth in the restaurant and huddled together to look at the photos Dara had taken earlier that day.
"I know right, isn't Jisoo cute?" Jennie sang as she twisted her body towards the pale girl and pinched her cheeks. "You're so cute."
"Jendeukie, stop." Jisoo grabbed Jennie's wrists and lowered them down. She lowered her voice, "You're ruining my cool factor."
"What cool factor?" Jennie teased, sticking her tongue out.
"Yeah Chu, you lost it once you put on that sweater." Yeri taunted, reaching over to tug the red material. Jisoo slapped her best friend's hand away.
"Woah, girl, calm down." Jennie chuckled at her girlfriend's hostility.
"I can't believe she agreed to wear matching sweaters with you, Nini." Rosé snickered.
"I have my ways." The brunette flipped her hair dramatically and winked at her girlfriend. "I can be very persuasive." She added suggestively making Jisoo to shift in her seat uncomfortably.
"What I can't believe is that Jisoo wore it out in public." Lisa joked, leaning closer to Rosé. The taller girl didn't hesitate to wrap her arm around her shoulder and snuggle. "The sex must have been good, huh Chu?"
By now Jisoo's pale complexion had turned to match her sweater. She sunk in her seat and buried her face in the menu. Jennie giggled at the embarrassed girl before taking her hand and squeezing it reassuringly.
"Oh hush you guys. " Rosé scolded the girls feeling bad for blushing girl. "Leave, Jisoo alone. Let's talk about how our first semester went. Yeri, how's Texas?"
"Oh fuck no." Yeri's head shot up, her eyes turning to deep shades of brown.
"Okay... I guess Yeri doesn't want to talk about it..." Rosé said slightly offended at the girl's tone. "Jennie, Jisoo, how ab-"
"No, Rosie. Look what the devil brought in." Yeri hissed nodding off to the opposite direction. All heads turned and found Irene walking in with Kang Seulgi hand in hand. History always seems to catch up to them.

Jisoo tensed up as she felt Jennie squeeze her hand tighter. She craned her head and locked eyes with her girlfriend. "You okay?"
"No." Jennie scoffed, chuckling bitterly. "Unbelievable." She was infuriated not because of she was still hung up on Irene but how coincidental this meeting was. And of all people Irene could have ended up with she ends up with the girl that started it all. If Irene could flaunt how happy she is then Jennie can too.
"Jendeukie..." Jisoo started but was cut off when the brunette pulled her hand away and climbed over her storming off to who knows where. She brought her hand to her face and rubbed her temples soothingly. Her girlfriend's temper was not the best. She made a move to follow the girl but Lisa had reached over the table, "I got it, Chu."
Nevertheless, Jisoo got up. "It's okay, Lisa. I got her." She shot her friend a grateful smile before searching for Jennie in the restaurant. It didn't take long to find the brunette, however, it was definitely unexpected when she saw Jennie in front of the restaurant holding a mic talking to one of the employers.
"What the hell?" Jisoo mumbled, furrowing her eyebrows. "Jendeukie?!"
Jennie lifted her head up and glanced at Jisoo meeting the girl's worried orbs. She waved enthusiastically and smiled. 'Hi.' She mouthed nonchalantly.
"Hi?" Jisoo whispered in confusion. She gave Jennie a puzzled look. "What are you doing?!"
'Trust me.' Jennie mouthed once again before giving her full attention back to the guy working the machine.
The dark haired girl scratched the back of her neck and took a seat near the bar. She had no idea what had gotten into Jennie. She knew the girl was over her ex but her actions were saying otherwise. She watched her girlfriend flip through a book that the worker had given her.
"Hey, what is Nini doing up there? I thought she was having a break down in the bathroom." Lisa popped out from Jisoo's side giving Jisoo a mini heart attack.
"God, Lisa!" Jisoo gasped. "Where the hell did you come from?"
"Uh, from behind you." The Thai retorted. "Anyway, is she going to sing?"
"Who's singing?" Rosé asked appearing beside her girlfriend.
"Someone's singing? We didn't even get food yet..." Yeri groaned slumping next to Rosé.
"I don't know what the hell is happening..." Jisoo mumbled. She rested her elbow on the counter as she observed Jennie who seemed to finally settle on a song. Her eyes scanned the room and spotted Irene sitting in the middle of the restaurant. The ex-cheerleader was all cozied up with Seulgi as they looked through the menu. She knew it's already been months but she couldn't help but feel a mixture of jealousy and rage.
"Hello..." Jennie's timid voice echoed from the mic. Some heads turned to face her, including Jisoo and Irene's. She waved shyly at the crowd and tapped the mic sending feedback. "Okay, it's working. Hi! Good evening everyone... I'm Jennie and I'll be singing ya'll a song to start off the night."
Jennie threw a thumbs up at the guy from the bar and cleared her throat. "Hope you enjoy. Sorry in advance if I suck." She joked.
"What is your girlfriend up to?" Rosé shared a look with Jisoo.
"You act like I know..." Jisoo let out a velvety laugh before turning back to Jennie.
A soft tune of Christmas music started jingling through the speakers as words appeared on the white screen behind Jennie. The brunette brought the mic to her lips and started vocalizing with the tune.
"I hate that I remember
I wish I could forget
What you did last December
You left my heart a mess..."
Jennie looked at Irene and met her gaze. "a mess."
"Girl, you blew it
How could you do it, do it, oh, yeah, oh, yeah?"
She strutted towards Irene's table and sang the lyrics on the screen. All eyes were on her.
"Last Christmas
I gave you my heart"
She circled her ex's table while dragging her finger along the edges of the round table. She stopped in front the ex-cheerleader and pressed her palm on the table. The crowd went "ooooooo"
"But the very next day you gave it away
This year
To save me from tears
I'll give it to someone special, oh, yeah, yeah."
The brunette leaned into Irene's, coming face to face with the girl.
"But last Christmas
I gave you my heart"
She balled the hand that was on the table and brought it to her chest. "But the very next day you gave it away" She made the balled fist exploded and backed away from Irene.
"This year
To save me from tears
I'll give it to someone special"
Jennie pointed between the two of them and shrugged casually.
"Thought we belonged together
At least that's what you said"
She tapped the side of head then made a heart with her hands.
"I should've known better
You broke my heart again"
She frowned and broke the heart. "again..."
"Girl, you blew it
How could you do it, do it, oh, yeah?"
Lisa nudged Jisoo softly. "You're girlfriend is a savage."
"I know..." Jisoo gulped at what she was witnessing. She looked at Lisa, "Remind me never to cheat on her."
"Will do." Lisa glanced at Jisoo and patted her in the back.
"Whoop. There goes Rosé." Yeri informed the two. Their heads turned so quickly that the tiny girl was worried about it snapping off.
Rosé borrowed another mic from the bar and ran over to where Jennie was. She quickly joined and harmonized with the brunette.
"But last Christmas, I gave you my heart" Jennie smiled but kept on singing.
"Gave you her heart." Rosé echoed.
"But the very next day you gave it away (gave it away)
This year (hey, hey)"
The voices of the duo mended perfectly. It was more enjoyable to them than to the person they were singing it too. Irene hid her face behind the menu and avoided the two girls' gazes.
"To save me from tears (you got it)
I'll give it to someone special"
Jennie took Rosé's hand and dragged her away from the table back to the front of the restaurant. "How we doing tonight?!"
The restaurant cheered loudly.
"But last Christmas (oh, baby)
I gave you my heart"
The two girls danced and belted out the lyrics mindlessly.
"But the very next day you gave it away (gave it away)
This year (you got it)
To save me from tears
I'll give it to someone special"
Jennie deafened her left ear and closed her eyes trying to keep herself in tune for the next part.
"Ooh, yeah
How could you leave Christmas morning?"
She scrunched her nose and crinkled her eyebrows together. Jisoo was mesmerized at how confident and comfortable her girlfriend was on stage.
"You broke my heart with no warning
Girl, you blew it
How could you do it, do it, oh, yeah?"
When she opened her eyes, she caught herself in Jisoo's sight of view. She gave her girlfriend a small wave and blew a kiss.
"Last Christmas
I gave you my heart (gave you my heart)
But the very next day you gave it away (you gave it away)
This year
To save me from tears (oh, baby)
I'll give it to someone special"
Jennie pointed at Jisoo then sauntered her way to the bar, where her friends were watching.
"This is our last (last) last (last) Christmas.
She broke my heart"
She grasped on one of Jisoo's hand.
"Last (last) last (last) Christmas
She broke my heart"
She placed it against hers then intertwined them slowly while remaining eye contact with the raven-haired girl.
"This year
To save me from tears
I'll give it to someone special."
Jennie poked the pale girl's nose making the girl crack a smile. She tugged Jisoo up who obliged and followed her. In the middle of the restaurant, the brunette serenaded her one and only.
"I hate that I remember
I wish I could forget
What she did last December"
Jisoo wrapped her arms around Jennie's petite waist and molded herself behind the singer. She laid her head down beside Jennie's as they rocked gently to the tune.
"She left my heart a mess (you left my heart a mess)
(This year)
To save me from tears (oh, baby)
I'll give it to someone special)
Girl, you blew it
How could you do it, do it?"
The song fainted away but the volume of the audience heightened in cheers. Jennie didn't expect the positive output but was pleased with it.
"You were amazing, baby." Jisoo whispered in Jennie's ear.
The singer side-eyed Jisoo and smiled. "Not as amazing as you." She flirted back. She broke out of Jisoo's hold for a second and motioned for Rosé. "My lovely echo was Ms. Rosé, and this..." Jennie jerked Jisoo's arm at her direction. "Is my beautiful girlfriend, Kim Jisoo!" Jisoo and Rosé waved at the public. Once more, Jennie spoke. "I would just like to say thank you Irene for being a good sport and not walking out. I just want to say that I didn't sing the song out of spite and I am glad that you have moved on as have I." She motioned to Jisoo. "I hope you are happy with Seulgi and to everyone, Happy Holidays and may love find you. Thank you."
The three girls got off the stage and were applauded for their lively performance. Some people even came up to them personally to say how amazing Jennie and Rosé were. As Yeri and Lisa came into view, Jennie rolled her eyes playfully when she noticed the two girls dramatically cheering for her.
"Oh my god! It's Jennie and Rosé !!!!" Yeri jumped up and down while pulling on Lisa's shirt. She reached out for the two singers, "I'm your biggest fan! Oh my god! Can you sign my boobs!?"
"Of course, of course." Rosé replied, playing along. Jennie shook her head at her friends and leaned on Jisoo.
"Our friends are crazy." She told the taller girl.
Jisoo looked down at Jennie and chuckled. "Yeah but you're crazier."
-
"You know Christmas is in two weeks and you still haven't told me what you wanted yet..." The older girl said out of the blue as they lied down on the beach watching the starry sky twinkle. After the dinner and a few more songs in the bar, they separated ways from the other three girls. Irene never came up to them nor did they go up to the couple. It was a mutual understanding and the best call for both sides.
"That's because-" Jennie started but was abruptly cut off by her girlfriend.
"Don't say 'I already have everything, you'" Jisoo mocked, earning an elbow in her stomach.
"I wasn't going to say that!" The brunette protested.
"Oh yeah. What were you going to say then?"
"What I was going to say that is no material thing can really make me happier than I already am now..."
"Liar."
Jennie turned her body and faced the raven-haired girl. "I'm serious, Chu. "
The brunette glanced at Jennie and raised a challenging brow. "Bullshit. So you're saying you didn't want 'Yoberrie's' the strawberry ice cream making machine?"
"Wait, were you getting me that! Oh my god!"
"Maybe..."
"I mean if you already got it, what's the sense of returning it..."
"You are so full of shit, Kim."
"No but really, Jisoo. My list this year only consists of two things, Yoberrie's and... you."
"What the hell? I'm the SECOND item on your wish list!?"
"You're an ass, did you know that?"
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry. I love you and if it makes any difference, you're the only thing in my list."
"Such an honor."
"I love you, Kim."
"I love you too, Kim."
"So does that mean you got me that sports watch I wanted?"
"What sports watch? I didn't hear you mention that when you read your list. You should have put that on your list if you wanted it."
"JENDEUKIE!"
