《Mondays (Jensoo Convert)》"My biggest fear was falling in love with you."

Jisoo fluttered her eyes open and blink a couple of times as she took in the new surrounding she was in. She tried to lift her body up but felt a sharp pain shoot through her sides.
"Fuck..." She groaned.
"Chu?" Jiyoon rasped, perking up from her seat. She rubbed her eyes to clear the sleep off it and examined her younger sister. "You're awake!"
"I am... Jiyoon, where amI?" Jisoo asked in confusion. She looked around the white room and furrowed her eyebrows as she took a whiff of a familiar scent. "Am I- am Iin a hospital?"
Jiyoon walked over by her sister's side. "Kinda." She uttered with a small smile. She grabbed one of Jisoo's hands and squeezed it. "You were asleep for almost 5 days. I think I should get mom and dad in here."
The older girl turned away and was about to let go of Jisoo's hand but stopped when she noticed Jisoo tug it.
"Wait." Jisoo said."Why am I here? In a hospital, I mean."
"Umm... you don't remember?" Jiyoon craned her head to her. The other girl only shook her head. "What's the last thing you do remember?"

Flashback
Jisoo walked the halls of her new school with her chin held high. It was the first day of her freshman year and she felt confident. She clutched her books securely and waved to a couple of girls that she had met through volleyball. Her eyes caught a glimpse of brown, wavy locks cascading on a petite frame caused her heart to jump and to stop her tracks.
She locked on her teammate that she had developed a crush on. Jennie had her hair down. The girl wore high waisted shorts and a white crop top, which only made her skin look even more flawless. This was the first time Jisoo has seen Jennie in something other than a t-shirt and spandex.
"Perfect." Jisoo mumbled to herself before making her way to the girl.
Jennie was stuffing some books in her locker when she felt someone shadowing over her. She turned her head and foundher teammate grinning widely at her. She arched an eyebrow and closed her locker giving the other girl her full attention.
"Hi Jisoo." Jennie greeted with a playful eye roll.
"Hey Jendeukie." Jisoo replied flashing her pearly whites. "You look beautiful today, babe."
"Jisoo, please." Jennie snorted. She tucked a strand of hair behind her ear and tilted her head.
"What?" Jisoo asked innocently. "Can I not compliment a fellow teammate?"
"Wipe that smug smile and maybe I'll let you." Jennie retorted as she folded her arms in front of her chest.
"Ouch." The pale girl feigned offense. She brought her books to her side and reached over to take out the hair from Jennie's ear. She fixed the strand so that it fell nicely along with the others. She lifted her eyes and met soft brown orbs staring at her."I like it down. It makes your eyes pop."
"I- uh... t-thanks." Jennie stammered, shifting her gaze away from Jisoo. Her cheeks reddening from the genuine comment she had received.
Jisoo bit her lip and continued to peer over the shorter girl. She noticed the corner of Jennie's mouth curl up causing her to beam.
"One down, One hundredf orty-three more to go." The dark haired girl blurted out.

"Huh?" Jennie knitted her eyebrows and looked up at Jisoo.
"That's how many more Mondays I need to make you smile. You said you hated that day so I made it mission to make it a little better through out our high school career." Jisoo chimed. "There's 36 weeks in a school year and we're here for 4 years... that's 144... I made you smile today so that's one down."
Jennie gaped at the taller girl. She chuckled softly and shook her head in disbelief. "There's something special about you, Kim."
"I hope that's 'something special' is good." Jisoo teased.
"Take it as a compliment."
"Oh so now you can compliment me but I can't compliment you."
The brunette groaned and turned her heels. She started to walk away from her teammate but Jisoo was persistent. "You're annoying." She huffed.
Jisoo strolled beside Jennie and laughed. "Get use to it. You have four more years with me."
-
Jennie leaned against the wooden barrier as she gripped her paintball gun tighter. The volleyball team thought it would be a nice bonding experience to go paintballing and shoot each other. She, however, was not a fan of the idea but of course she was out voted. And now she was stuck hiding out from her teammates wrath. They were viciously little shits.
"Hey!" Jisoo panted as she collapsed next to Jennie behind the barrier giving the girl a small heart attack. She had a smile plastered on her face while her chest rose up and down rapidly. She twisted her head to face the brunette. "Isn't this fun?"
"No!" Jennie argued with terror in her eyes. "I hate this. I'm constantly running away from Lisa. She's ruthless. I'm pretty sure she's been using me as target practice."
The older girl threw her head back and chortled.
"Jisoo." Jennie whined, punching the girl's arm softly.
"What?! It's not my fault you're an easy target." Jisoo countered. "I'm actually surprised you'restill alive in this round."
"I told you! I've been lying low." Jennie giggled, her smiled flattered when she realized that this was a free for all. "Wait... why aren't you shooting me?"
"Why would I shoot a pretty face like yours?"
"Well you didn't seem to have a problem with that the past 3 rounds!"
"Hey, that was a team thing. I needed to eliminate you to win."
"We're in a free for all. You STILL need to shoot me to win!"
"Don't worry, babe. I got you, now." The pale girl assured. She put her hand out for Jennie to take. "Follow me and I promise to keep you safe then when we're the last survivors you can shoot me."
The brown-eyed girl glanced down at the open hand. She was reluctant but decided that it was her best bet. She trusted Jisoo. She grabbed on and flickered her eyes up to Jisoo.
"Trust me?"
"I trust you."
They ended up being the last two as Jisoo promised but Jennie didn't have the heart to shoot Jisoo, so she called it a draw.
-
"I hate hiking." Jennie complained as she frantically slapped the bugs trying to eat her alive. She clasped on a tree branch and tried to avoid falling over the rocks. She attempted to keep up with the other girls but her dislike for nature got in the way. The only one that stayed with her was Jisoo while Rosé, Lisa and Yeri went ahead.

The dark haired beauty looked over her shoulder and let out a throaty chuckle. "Jendeukie, chill."
"Don't tell me to chill- AGH! SPIDER WEB!" Jennie squealed when she walked through the well-constructed silk web. She sprinted forwards and jumped on Jisoo. "Oh my god. Oh my god. I'm going to die. I hate spiders."
"Jennie, you hate being outside. Period." Jisoo grunted as the smaller girl wrapped her legs on her waist and her arms on her neck. Nonetheless, she hooked her arms around Jennie's legs and pushed her up. "You're such a baby."
Jennie breathed hard while her eyes examined the woody trail. "Why did I agree to this?" She muttered.
"I don't know. Why did you?"
"Are we close?" Jennie huffed in frustration.
"We're almost there, love." Jisoo reassured as she stepped over some broken branches on the ground. She craned her head back to make sure Jennie was okay, a smile found itself on her lips when she noticed the other girl had rested her head on her shoulder. Their noses almost touching when she turned. "Don't worry, okay? You're safe with me."
"Okay..." Jennie said in a small voice, her eyes locking with Jisoo's. She beamed at Jisoo and clutched onto her tighter.
The taller girl carried Jennie on her back all the way to the overlook the trail was headed to. It was no problem for her, Jennie was light and she was strong. It actually gave her butterflies to be that close to the other girl. Sometimes it made her shiver whenever Jennie would breath in her neck.
Once they reached their destination Jisoo let Jennie down off her back. The three other girls had already settled and were taking pictures of the beautiful view. Jennie's jaw dropped when she saw the amazing scenery.
"Holy shit." She said in astonishment.
"Stunning, isn't it." Jisoo smiled as she glanced at Jennie.
"It's... it's-" Jennie stuttered trying to find the right words.
"It takes my breath away everytime." Jisoo husked, her piercing brown eyes drawn to the only thing she's had her eyes for the past 3 years.
Jennie shifted her attention from the landscape to her teammate.
"It was worth it, right?" Jisoo quipped.
"I-I don't know." Jennie gulped, feeling intimidated under Jisoo's gaze.
"Are you still rethinking on why you agreed to do this?"
"I'm rethinking a lot of things right now but being here with you is not one of them."
Jisoo was taken back by Jennie's answer, she hated when Jennie said stuff like that it always made her weak. A blush crept up her cheeks causing her to cover it with her hands. Jennie giggled at her teammate's actions and quickly took out her phone.
"Stay like that." Jennie requested before snapping a photo of Jisoo. She snickered at how adorable the pale girl looked. Jisoo walked around Jennie to peep at the picture.
"You look like the monkey emoji!" The brown-eyed girl laughed. "You're so cute."
Jennie's eyes instantly widen as the words escaped out of her mouth. Jisoo raised her eyebrow at the shorter girland smirked.
"I mean, like in an adorable kind of way..." Jennie tried to smooth over.
"You think I'm cute?" Jisoo asked in a teasing manner poking her cheeks.
"No." Jennie scoffed."As if." She turned her phone off and slipped it back in her pocket. She started to walk backwards to join the other girls while she stuck her tongue out at the taller girl. Jisoo followed her, an impish grin visible on her face.
"You know, you're so an-" Jennie began but was cut off when she tripped over a protruding rock.
Jisoo saw it coming and by instinct, extends her hand out to grab Jennie by the wrist before she hit the ground."Gotcha." She moved up to where the clumsy girl was and slid her arm behind the girl's back for support.
"Thanks." Jennie exhaled.
"No problem." Jisoo replied, her eyes falling on Jennie's lips. "For the record, I think you're cute too."
-
Jisoo sat next to a nervous Jennie, who was fidgeting in her seat. The brown-eyed girl couldn't stay still due to the amount of stress she was in. They were currently waiting to be interviewed by an administrator from Stanford and Jennie felt like she was going to faint.
The dark haired girl, on the other hand, was cool as a cucumber. She was skimming through her resume while glancing over to her best friend every two minutes. When she heard Jennie's labored breaths she sighed and closed her folder.
"Jendeukie." Jisoo said gently as she rotated her body to face Jennie. "Look at me."
"I can't do this, Jisoo." Jennie wheezed. "I'm having a nervous breakdown. What if they don't like me? I'm going to forget how to speak. What if I don't get in?"
Jisoo placed her folder on her lap and reached out to grabbed Jennie's face. She cupped the smooth visage and connected their gaze.
"Stop worrying." She soothed. "Pull yourself together and stop thinking about 'what ifs'. They ARE going to like you. You WILL speak so eloquently that you will blow their minds. And lastly, you WILL get in. Don't sell yourself short, babe."
Jennie's facial features relaxed. She took a look in Jisoo's eyes and sensed tranquility. The brown-eyed girl always seemed to have that effect on her, which made her grateful to have her always by her side.
"You good?" Jisoo piped up, dropping her hands from Jennie's face.
Jennie nodded and took a sharp inhale. "How do you do it?"
"Do what?"
"Make everything okay."
Jisoo shrugged. "I guess because I've already conquered my biggest fear, so everything else is manageable."
"You conquered your biggest fear?" Jennie frowned unaware of what it was. She was Jisoo's best friend she should know what it was. "Heights?"
"No." Her teammate shook her head and smiled slyly.
"What is it?" Jennie challenged completely intrigued at the answer.
"Jennie Kim?" A woman called out from the room. The brunette peered over Jisoo's shoulder and found the secretary asking for her. She fixed her blouse and straightened her skirt as she got up.
"Wish me luck." Jennie crossed her fingers and walked over to the door.
"Good luck." Jisoo hummed. She watched as her best friend disappear in the room before slumping down in her seat. "My biggest fear was falling in love with you."
-
Lisa ended the call and made her way to Jennie. The brunette was sitting alone by the library window engrossed in a book.
"Nini." The Thai spoke lowly, catching Jennie's attention. The small girl averted her attention from the book to the taller girl lingering next to her. "Jisoo's awake."

Weapons with a broken amount of different buffs applied to them due to the crafting process and materials used? You know it! The most amazing fishing rod to ever exist? Well, obviously. A Spirit Vein's Guide to Immortality
TL;DR Synopsis: Man dies from falling banana, gets interrogated but answers vaguely, suffers consequences Actual synopsis: Spirit veins. Many consider them to be the pillar on which the world of cultivation is built. These things served as the foundation for the first few realms that would allow humanity to achieve its everlasting dream of immortality. However, in the present age, these pockets of condensed energy only exist to be under the foundations of massive organizations, fostering a new generation of fighters while passively radiating the energy they contain. Nevertheless, spirit veins are still an important element in the world of cultivation, albeit much less so. With that in mind, have you ever considered what it would be like for someone to turn into a spirit vein? No? Well, Arthur never thought about it either. Going through the usual reincarnation schtick (if one could consider it usual), Arthur was eventually brought into a place where a god asked him where he would like to be reborn. Unsurprisingly, Arthur told the god his ideal rebirth. However, soon enough, he would come to realize that he should have been more specific with it. Now being reborn as the smallest spirit vein, or if you could even consider him a spirit vein, Arthur wondered what he could do other than wait for time to consume him…and that’s where the system came in. With it, he would experience multiple stories of hardships, adventure, romance, and action…all underground. Unless…? Do keep in mind that English is not my first language, so I would like to apologize in advance if there are any grammatical errors, typos, miscalculations and so on. In fact, I'd highly appreciate it if you tell me those mistakes. Also, this story focuses quite a lot on the gradual progression of the MC at the beginning, but in the long run, upgrading sprees would probably be more common. Thanks for reading this small note! The Tales of YAP: The Superhero Series
“Listen well, and listen kindly, for my story is a story of contradictions; of the dead becoming alive and the weak becoming strong. Likewise, those nominated as the strong are reduced into the weakest of foes. And lovers, those sweet companions, are nothing but crazed psychopaths. This is the type of story I will tell. The story only I can speak of for it is solely mine. And now, as I recount it to you, thence forth it shall belong to all that hear of it. Listen well, then, for I shall begin.”Sooo, that’s it. The world isn’t what it is. The dead are alive. The weak become strong. And bla bla bla. The normal days of a superhero-in-training, I suppose. I hope you have a bit of patience because my story is a long one, and it starts out in the same old, boring world. My name is Yassi Anne P. Sorento, and this is my story before I became the superhero I am today. (First posted on Webnovel with the same title and under the name, Hua_Li_An.)
