Nayeon sprinted towards the gymnasium. She ran as fast as her feet could take her and clutched on to the video camera in her right hand. Her eyes locked in on a JV volleyball player, Somi, standing right outside the gym with a tall boy.

"Did I miss it? Did they walk yet?" She panted as she hunched over and tried to catch her breath.

"No, you're right on time." Somi grinned as she opened the door for Nayeon. "Hope it works out..."

"Me too." she replied before entering the gym. She was taken back by the amount of people present for a volleyball game but it was understandable since it was Senior Night. She spotted her teammates and some of the soccer boys on top of bleachers and jogged over to them.

"Nayeon. Thought you might have backed out." Jinyoung greeted Nayeon with a smirk.

"I always pull through." She dismissed the boy's remark and flopped down next to him. She flipped the camera open and aimed it at the court before pressing record. "This is going to be good."

Jinyoung hummed along and faced the front.

Jennie placed her hands on each side of the sink and lifted her head up to see her own reflection. She looked into her brown orbs staring back at her. It was her last game playing with her team on their home court. But mostly, it was her last chance to tell Jisoo how she felt.

"SENIORS, LINE UP!" She heard their coach scream, breaking her out from her daze. She let out a big sigh and slapped her face to get pumped. "KIM!" She flinched and craned her head. "LET'S GO!" She gave a thumbs up to her coach and turned back to the mirror to her reflection.

"You can do this." Jennie motivated herself. "Don't choke. You can do this." She felt warm hands on her shoulders and jumped. She relaxed when she saw that it was only Lisa.

"Calm down, Nini. You got this." The Thai pushed. She smiled at her captain and pulled her on the line. "Stay cool."

Jennie nodded as she made her way to the line. She saw Jisoo in the front of the line waving excitedly to her family on the bleachers with a boost of confidence she walked up next to her and grabbed the girl's face to face her. Confused brown eyes looked at Jennie's resolute chocolate ones.

"Hey Jendeukie, what's up?" Jisoo husked.

"I love you." Her co-captain declared before releasing her face and strutting back to the end of the line. Jisoo was left in shock uncertain on how to react at the bomb Jennie had just dropped on her. Nevertheless, she wasn't given the time. The game was about to start and the announcer had taken his place.

"Parents, students, and visitors. Welcome to Seoul High, home of the Manta Rays!" The announcer, Hanbin hollered. He egged the crowd to cheer on then signaled them to quiet down. "Alright. Tonight is a special night for our volleyball girls' seniors. They will be recognized for the years they have played in our school and celebrated for graduating." He cleared his throat and gestured to the corner of the gym. "Let me present to you, the seniors of the ladies' volleyball teeeeeeaaaaam. Kim Jisoo. Park Chaeyoung. Kim Yerim. Lalisa Manoban and Jennie Kim."

The five girls came out of the locker room and waved to the audience. Each had placed on wide smiles and cheery attitudes. Hanbin took a pile of notecards with the players' information. He began to read the bios to the crowd.

"Jisoo... one of the captains this year. She played all four years. Her favorite memory was the day she got was accepted to be part of the team and become a family with the rest of the girls. She will be attending Stanford in the fall. Congratulations, Kim." The girl shyly waved. Hanbin paused and waited until the hoots died down.

"Kim Yerim... She's the team lean machine!" Yeri flexed and did a little salute to please the audience. She played all four years. Her favorite memory was meeting the girls she now is proud to call sisters. She will be attending University of Texas in the fall. Congrats, Yeri." The short girl gave a flying kiss.

"Park Chaeyoung... the mother den of the team. She played all four years. Her favorite memory was watching two people blindly fall in love with each other." The crowd went 'oooo'. "She will be attending Julliard in the fall. You go, Rosé!" He pumped his fist in the air as the students roared.

"Lalisa Manoban! The dancer in a volleyball team" Hanbin chuckled as Lisa dramatically flipped her hair. "She played for four years. Her favorite memory was the jam sessions in the locker rooms. She will also be attending Julliard in the fall." He shrugged his shoulders and continued.

"Last but certainly not least is Captain Jennie Kim! Star setter of the year! She played for four years, one in JV and the rest in varsity. Her favorite memory..." Hanbin trailed off as he knitted his eyebrows together when all the lights suddenly shut off and the gymnasium went completely dark.

"Showtime." Nayeon mumbled as she adjusted the camera.

There was a slight feedback coming from a microphone causing everyone in the gym to cringe. No one knew what was going on until a single spotlight hit the middle of the court, where a keyboard with a mic stand and bench now resided. Small chatters started amongst the crowd.

Jennie walked over to the center and sat down on the bench. She fluttered her eyes close and hovered her fingertips on the keys. Every single person in the room remained on the edge of their seats in anticipation. She pressed down on the first set of keys.

"You got me lookin' so crazy right now, your touch. You got me looking so crazy right now..." She sang. Jisoo felt chills as she listened to Jennie's rich voice. She recognized the song from when her teammate had sung it for her when she was sick. "You got me lookin' so crazy right now... your touch. Got me crazy, now... now..."

The brown-eyed girl snapped her eyes open and looked Jisoo directly in the eyes. She changed the keys and started to play a new tune. "You make me crazy, you make me wilddddd..." Jisoo gulped. "Just like a baby! Spin me 'round like a child..." Jennie's runs made her whole team and the audience's jaws dropped. She never really sang in front of anyone except Jisoo and her family. Her fingers kept moving.

"Your skin so golden brown." Rosé stepped out in the center with a mic in her hand followed by Yeri and Lisa.

"Your skin... your skin... your skin..." Yeri harmonized.

"Be young, be dope, be proud..." Rosé crooned.

"Be proud." Yeri echoed.

"Like an American." Lisa ended the song and the crowd went wild. A standing ovation. Some had tears in their eyes, one in particular. Jisoo stood there completely blown away as she watched her teammates sing to her in awe.

Jennie stood up from the bench and lifted up the lid revealing a small compartment that held a dozen tulips. Jisoo's favorite flowers. She took the microphone off the stand and tapped it with her finger.

"Hello?" She tested. She was satisfied when she heard her voice carried throughtout the entire gym. She looked at the people and took a deep breath in. "Hi, I'm Jennie Kim. I hoped you enjoyed the little act there... if you didn't please be nice." She chuckled nervously. "I... um... I-" She choked. She gripped the tulips tighter and turned away from the crowd.

"C'mon, Kim." Nayeon muttered to herself.

Jisoo saw the brunette grow tense and became worried. She was about to walk up to the girl when suddenly Jennie spoke again.

"Jisoo..." The brown-eyed girl addressed. She spun around and faced her co-captain. "T-this was for you." Her voice cracked. "Wow this is harder than it looked. Taeyang made it seem so easy." A few of the students laughed.

Jennie bit her lip and stared at Jisoo trying to come up with what to say. She remembered Jisoo telling Taeyang to 'speak from the heart'. And so, she did. "Jisoo you turned my whole world upside down when you introduced yourself to me after tryouts. I don't usually do this... I don't sing in front of people and I definitely do not like being in the spotlight. But I'll do it for you." She murmured. "You make me do crazy things."

Jisoo smiled. "I used to hate Mondays, in fact I still do, but not as much anymore because somehow you always find a way to turn it around. You learned every single thing about me in a span of four years... my little quirks, my pet peeves, my favorites, my moods... and I find that funny since I never really opened up to you. I guess you're really observant."

"Jisoo, it's our senior night, pretty much our last game with every single one of these girls that I love to death. This is our last chance to play as a family but also my last chance to tell them how I fell for your mysterious and flirtatious ass." The whole team laughed. "I know I don't deserve you." She turned to the crowd and pointed at Jisoo. "I don't deserve her." She proclaimed before glancing back to the dark-haired beauty.

"And that's why I'm going to spend my entire life trying to be the person you do deserve. Sorry it took me four years and for you to start a relationship with another person for me to finally admit to myself that I'm in love with you. I should have been the one chasing you and not the other way around..." Jennie spoke eloquently. She took a step toward Jisoo. "I would trade the strawberries in the entire world just so that you'll find it in your heart to give me a chance. Just one." She craned her head over to where Lisa was standing and nodded her head. Lisa got the message and threw her a volleyball that sat in her hip. Jennie caught it skillfully and handed both the tulips and ball to Jisoo.

The pale girl took the items and rotated the ball. It read: PROM?

"So what do you say, Kim Jisoo?" Jennie asked hopefully, fidgeting nervously in her spot. "Will you go to Prom with me?"

It was silent. Jisoo lifted her gaze to Jennie with an unreadable look in her eyes making the brown-eyed girl anxious. Unexpectedly, her lips curled up and a giant smile was found on her face.

"Took you long enough." Jisoo breathed, immediately wrapping her arms around Jennie's body.

"Is that a yes?" Jennie giggled.

"Of course, it's a yes, dummy."

"She said yes!"

The entire room exploded. Both their families rooted for the two girls, as did their friends and teammates. Jisoo pulled away and stared at Jennie.

"Did you really mean it?" She queried.

"Mean what?"

"When you said 'I love you'... back there in the locker room."

Jennie grinned. "Every. Single. Word."

"Are you mocking me?" Jisoo chuckled softly, recalling the time when she and Jennie had this exact talk a few months ago.

"It's what I do." She retorted.

"It's what we do."

"Right, we."

They stayed in their own little world for a few minutes before the buzzer blew and the whole gym lit up again. Hanbin hopped back on the podium with a mic. "Technical difficulties. Sorry about that. Anyway, Jennie's favorite memory was asking Kim Jisoo to Prom... Jennie says, 'no matter what Jisoo says it'll still be memorable. I told her once that if I ever did something this big that it'll be for someone one special... Jisoo will be and has always been special to me.'" The announcer read. "Awwwww! That's cute, Kim. Who knew you had a way with words, huh?" He teased, eliciting a reaction from the crowd. "I'm joking. Moving on, Kim will be attending... drum roll please!"

Everyone in the bleachers started stomping there feet. "STANFORD UNIVERSITY!"

Jisoo eyes widened. "You got in?" she whispered in Jennie's ear. The brunette hummed in response.

"I told you, I'm going to spend my entire life trying to be the person you do deserve." Jennie beamed.

Flashback

"Nayeon." Jennie called out for the girl walking down the soccer field. The girl turned her head and arched an eyebrow at the volleyball player.

"Jennie?" She questioned, her voice laced with shock. "What are you doing here?"

"C-can we... talk?" the brunette requested.

"Yeah, yeah. Sure." Nayeon agreed.

The pair walked out of the soccer field and climbed up the stands. They sat down facing the pitch in awkward silence.

"So what did you want to talk about?" The soccer player cut through the tension and turned to Jennie.

"Oh right. Um... I heard rumors..." Jennie said evasively.

"Okay... Rumors about what? You have to be more specific with me Jennie..."

"Rumors about you planning to ask Jisoo for Prom."

Nayeon backed up and furrowed her eyebrows together, surprise evident on her face. "Oh."

"Oh?" Jennie remarked.

"Those are just rumors, Jennie."

"So it's not true?"

"No." Nayeon shook her head. "My teammates were joking around and teasing me to do it but I'm sure she probably already told you that we broke things off..."

Jennie bobbed her head timidly. "She mentioned that."

"I guess some of the guys from the soccer team might have overheard about the prom thing and spread that around. They are always thirsty for some gossip." The girl chuckled.

"Why don't you?" Jennie asked, making Nayeon frown. "Ask her to Prom."

"You and I both know why." Nayeon huffed. "She might say yes to me but we know who she really wants to be with..."

The volleyball player bowed her head and toyed with her fingers. She came there to confront and fight for Jisoo but after talking to Nayeon it seemed like her walls broke down. Jisoo deserved this girl not her.

Nayeon had enough of Jennie's brooding. She rolled her eyes and stood up. "Kim, why did you come here?" She said in a harsher tone.

"I just wanted to clear up the rumors." Jennie retorted back.

"For what? So you can see if you had competition?" Nayeon spat causing Jennie to snap her head up.

"Yes!" the smaller barked back feeling attacked. She sprung up from her seat and instincts took over. "When I heard you and Jisoo break up, I wanted to take that opportunity to ask Jisoo to prom then some rumor is spread around saying that you're fighting back."

Nayeon scoffed. "Look, Jisoo loves you. She always had and she always will. No matter how big or lavish my 'Promposal' would have been it would never compare to yours. Don't you get that? You could write Prom with a question mark on a toilet paper and Jisoo would say yes. SHE'S FUCKING IN LOVE WITH YOU!"

"AND I LOVE HER TOO!" Jennie fumed. She glared at Nayeon as her chest rose up and down rapidly. "I love her, okay?" She whispered.

"Then tell her!" Nayeon raged. "Just fucking tell her. Right now. This is your sign. Because she doesn't know that! What are you...like afraid?"

"Yes." The volleyball admitted. "I am afraid. I'm afraid that maybe I'm too late."

"OH FOR FUCKS SAKE!" Nayeon exasperated, throwing her hands up. "It's like I'm in a fucking TV Drama." She calmed herself and looked at Jennie. "Look Kim. How would you know the answer if you don't try?"

Jennie folded her arms across her chest and breathed out.

"So what's it going to be, Jennie? Are you going to ask her or am I going to pick up the pieces once again?" Nayeon raised an eyebrow challengingly.

"I might have an idea or two for Prom Week." Jennie replied with a scowl, which twisted into a smirk. "But I need help..."

"If it means Jisoo will finally be happy, then count me in."
