Jisoo saw Jennie fiddling with the lock on her locker and decided that it'd be a great time to scare her. She hid behind underclassmen that passed that way until she was close enough to tiptoe towards the girl. She raised her hands ready to poke Jennie on her side, as her mouth was about to open her teammate spoke up.

"Do you really think you're slick?" Jennie side-eyed Jisoo. She chuckled softly as she saw Jisoo's face fall, disappointed that she had gotten caught.

"Jendeukie! Why couldn't you let me have it?" Jisoo complained as she dragged her feet in defeat closer to her teammate.

"Sorry, Kim. Try again."

"You know I always do."

"Try harder then."

"Maybe you should just let your walls down and let me through." The taller girl wiggled her eyebrows suggestively and pushed Jennie slightly. Jennie turned to Jisoo and shot her a dirty look.

"Will you stop babbling and help me with my locker?" The volleyball player huffed. "Four years and this piece of shit still hates me." She formed her hands into fists and started pounding the benign locker.

Jisoo's eyes widened as she noticed other students turning their heads to see Jennie's outburst. She quickly wrapped her arms around Jennie and held her tight, keeping her from gaining any more attention than she already got.

"Woah there, Jen." Jisoo hushed. "Cage the tiger. Tame the anger."

Jennie shut her eyes and controlled her rapid breath. She took bigger inhales and exhales as she listened to Jisoo's voice. 'Cage the tiger. Tame the anger.'

The brown-eyed girl loosened her grip on Jennie and started to let go as soon as she felt her teammate's even breathing. The girl was known to be less patient than most, Jisoo found a way to deal with it.

"Sorry." Jennie mumbled, fluttering her eyes open to be met with warm, sparkling orbs.

"That's okay." Jisoo assured the girl before turning to the beaten locker. "Now let's get this locker of yours open before first period."

Jennie nodded and let the girl work her magic. Jisoo bit her lip and furrowed her eyebrows together as she tinkered with the lock. After a few seconds the lock clicked making Jisoo grin and look at Jennie.

"Ta da! You see pati-" Jisoo started as she opened the locker but was quickly cut off when all of the contents from it fell on her feet. "FUCK!" She yelped letting go off the handle to clutch her feet.

"Holy shit, Jisoo! Are you okay?" Jennie was hustled next to Jisoo. She automatically reached out to her teammate and served as a crutch to stabilize the other girl.

"Yeah, I'm fine." Jisoo winced, setting her foot down to test the waters.

"Hey, I don't think you should do that." Jennie scolded as she saw Jisoo attempt to stand with both feet.

"Damn, Jennie. Would it kill you to organize your locker once in a while?" The brown-eyed girl teased. "It's becoming a hazard."

"Jisoo..." Jennie whined. She was in no mood for jokes when all she could think about was her teammate's injured foot.

"I'm fine."

"No you're not. A ton of textbooks just fell on your foot."

"It'll take a lot more of that to sprain it."

"Your mom is going to kill me." Jennie groaned as she examined the foot.

"My mom?" Jisoo asked quizzically.

"Yes your mom. I told her I would take care of you."

"You told my mom you would take care of me?"

Jennie snapped her head towards Jisoo. "I-I mean... I told her that I wouldn't let you get hurt... and stuff." She cleared her throat. "Look are you good or?"

Jisoo snickered at Jennie's flustered state. She placed her aching foot down again and whimpered when a small shot of pain came up. Her face relaxed after she got used to it.

"I'm good." She announced.

"Thank god." Jennie hummed locking eyes with Jisoo. Not a second later she tore away from the girl's gaze and bent down to retrieve her fallen books. Jisoo followed her suit. As they both gathered her books, Jennie accidentally grabbed Jisoo's hand. Both of the girls' head lifted up to meet one another's gaze.

"Take me on date first, will ya?" The pale skinned girl taunted causing Jennie's cheeks to heat up. Jisoo saw a tint of red upon her teammate's face and smirked. It's been a while since she caught Jennie blush. Jennie noticed, quickly dropping Jisoo's hand and shutting down Jisoo's insinuations.

"Shut up." Jennie scoffed. She stood up as she grabbed most of the books from the ground while Jisoo had the rest. "I'm such a mess."

Jisoo smiled as she handed Jennie the books.

Jennie turned her head to stare at Jisoo. Their eyes locked onto each other, as they silently got lost in their own little world. The corners of Jennie's mouth curved up unconsciously. It was always Jisoo that says stuff like that, making her heartbeat race and slow down at the same time.

"Jen!" Irene squealed, breaking the pair's moment. She brushed past Jisoo and cupped her girlfriend's face, pulling it towards her. She gave Jennie a bruising kiss, rough and filled with passion, which made Jisoo uncomfortable.

The pale skinned girl fidgeted at her spot as she watched the love of her life kiss someone else. She could hear her heart cracking, drowning out the wet sloppy sounds of the two girls making out in front of her. "Umm... I'll see you later, Jennie. Organize that locker." She suggested.

Jennie gave Jisoo a thumbs up without breaking her kiss with Irene.

"As long as she's happy, I'm happy." Jisoo mumbled to herself as she looked back at the couple.

-

The day had gone fast, now with Jisoo on her way to the locker room to change for their afternoon practice. She had forgotten about Irene's little display of affection in the morning and had acted like her normal self. She had it encrypted in her mind that Irene was just for the present and that she was for the future. However, it didn't stop her from getting a little jealous.

"Hey Jisoo." Lisa greeted as she caught up with her teammate. "Are you going to study hall after you change?"

"Yup." Jisoo nodded. "Where else would I go? It's not like I have a girlfriend to kiss or anything..."

The taller grabbed Jisoo by the shoulder and turned her around. She kinked an eyebrow and lifted the girl's chin up. "Irene?"

"Yeah." Her teammate sighed.

"That bitch." Lisa gritted through her teeth. "Stupid fucking cheerleader. What'd she do now?"

"Nothing, you don't have to subside to name-calling." Jisoo murmured, combing her dark wavy locks with her hand. "Irene doesn't do anything wrong. It's just... it's the fact that she can do stuff with Jennie that I can't is what's bothering me. I can't help but feel jealous."

"Chu, what's wrong with you?" The taller girl queried. "You're supposed to hate her. Call her a bitch. Make a voodoo doll and torture her. Egg her house. Do something! Stop being civil with her! She's the enemy."

The pale skinned girl threw her head back and laughed at Lisa's suggestion. "Lisa, we're not in a movie or a novel."

"SO! Movies and books are inspired by real life stories."

"Well, I'm not interested in drama. I just want my happy ending, okay?"

"Then let me help you out. I'm your fairy godmother and I'm about to slay that slimy dragon for you."

"No."

"No?"

"Let me do this on my own." Jisoo smiled. "In the end, the prince and the princess always find each other."

Lisa looked at Jisoo in awe. She had never met someone so kind-hearted and driven like her. She smiled subtly before smacking her lips together and rolling her eyes playfully at her teammate. "Pshh. Jisoo you is what they call weak."

"I am not weak!" The brown-eyed girl sneered. "I could probably take you down!"

"Is that a challenge?"

"Yeah!"

And with that Jisoo jumped on Lisa's back as she tried to bring the girl to the ground. The taller, however, was not about to give her the satisfaction. Lisa stayed strong and giggled while Jisoo tried her hardest to shake her teammate.

"I will take you down!" The smaller girl vowed, laughing uncontrollably.

"So she forgot your birthday and you let it go..." Yeri asked incredulously. "Jennie, what the fuck?"

Jennie shrugged, looking down at the textbook in front of her as she tried to avoid Yeri's gaze.

"That is kind off messed up, Jennie." Rosé chirped, who sat on the table in front of her.

"Guys, it's no big deal. She knows I hate celebrating my birthday anyway." She defended.

"Did she greet you today?" Yeri retorted knowingly.

"Does it matter?" Jennie remarked. She averted her gaze from the text to Yeri. "She didn't."

The youngest girl chuckled cynically. "Figures."

"Yeri, drop it." Rosé warned not wanting to get the girl boiled up before practice.

Everyone knew Irene and Yeri weren't exactly fans of each other. Back in middle school Yeri tried out for cheerleading, the same squad that Irene was in. She already had dance experience giving her an advantage so she basically rocked the tryout. She was the shiny new cheerleader and all the other girls loved her, except Irene.

The brunette felt threatened so she did something to gain back her friends. Irene stole Yeri's clothes after practice and hid it in the trash. Little Yeri was left naked in the locker room until a teacher found her crying in a stall. After that day, Yeri swore to get revenge on the cheerleader.

"I. Don't. Like. Her." Yeri growled, her brown orbs darkening as it swiveled in her eyes.

"She's my girlfriend, Yeri. Stay civil." Jennie pleaded. "Please."

"Why couldn't you go out with someone more decent?" The other girl questioned. And as if it was on cue, Jisoo and Lisa walked in. "Like Jisoo!"

The brown-eyed girl glowed like always as she turned to Yeri. "What about me?"

"I'm telling Jennie that she should just date you instead of the devil spawn." Yeri smirked.

Jisoo's smile faltered turning into a scowl. She hated when people spoke badly of each other. Also, she knew that it hurt Jennie.

Jennie just stayed quiet, bowing her head down knowing there was nothing she could do to defend Irene's actions.

"She's kidding." Lisa shook her head and walked over to Yeri, slapping the girl behind her head. The pale skinned girl perked up once again and sauntered her way to her favorite girl.

"Need help, babe?" Jisoo pushed her face close to Jennie. Jennie just huffed and slid the textbook to Jisoo. As much as she didn't want to admit it, Jennie needed Jisoo.

- Flashback-

Jennie panted as sweat trickled down her brow. It was the final set of the game and the other team was winning by two points. She was up by the net, waiting for the other team to serve.

"Butterfingers." The girl across the net mocked but Jennie paid no attention to her. The serve was up and Jennie scrambled to get the second ball. She planted her feet and waited for the ball to touch her fingertips when the girl's words echoed in her mind. The ball went through her hands and hit her in the forehead. The ball bounced high enough for Jisoo to jump up and spike it down to the other side.

They got the point but Jennie became frustrated with herself. She started breathing rapidly as tears formed in the brim of her eyes. Jisoo noticed her teammate's mild panic attack and signaled for a timeout.

The referee blew the whistle and both teams dispersed to their benches. Instead of huddling with the team, Jennie rushed out of the gym. The coach looked at Jisoo and the girl nodded understandingly.

"I got her." She assured as she followed Jennie out the doors.

Once Jisoo got out, she saw the brown-eyed girl pacing back and forth her chest rising rapidly.

"Jendeukie." She croaked but the other girl didn't budge. "Jennie."

"I'm a mess. I can't do it." Jennie mumbled.

"Hey, hey. Yes, you can. We just got that point, babe." Jisoo spoke softly as she inched her way to the aggravated girl.

"Because of you."

"Because of us."

"Jisoo, you don't understand. That girl in the front kept mocking me." Jennie whimpered. "It was like she was in my head, that's why I missed."

Suddenly, anger took over Jennie. She stomped over to the trashcan and kicked it. Jisoo took off running and pulled the girl away from it.

"I HATE HER!" She screamed.

"It's okay...shhh..." Jisoo hummed. She held the girl in her arms and rocked her back and forth. "Cage the tiger. Tame the anger. Cage the tiger. Tame the anger."

"Cage the tiger. Tame the anger." Jennie repeated lowly.

"That's right, Jendeukie."

Jisoo looked down at Jennie and smiled. The girl had calmed down. "Now when we go back out there, I want you to just listen to my voice. No one else's but mine. Don't worry about the girl from the other team, okay?"

"Okay." Jennie bobbed her head. "Listen to your voice."

"That's right. Now let's go win this."
