《Together we howl》Part 20

I wasn't sure how to feel as I led everyone into the family room, the Cullens looked around with curiosity and smiles whilst the pack kicked off their shoes and got comfortable on the L-shaped couch. I was nervous, more like terrified to be quite honest, wolves and vampires have always been natural enemies and I'm worried about how they'll react to having two people, who are both.
"Take a seat, you're going to want to get comfortable... It's a long and complicated story" I sighed tiredly. A hand was placed on my shoulder and as I looked up, Remus stood beside me with a reassuring smile, showing that he would be here to help as much as I need. The Cullens took a seat, somewhat stiffly as they had to sit close to the pack.
"What we are going to tell you will come as a shock. We will completely understand if you feel and think differently of us afterwards but all we ask is that you keep our secret, as we will keep yours"
"Of course, your secrets will be safe with us" Esme smiled reassuringly as Carlisle wrapped his arm around her, nodding in agreement along with his family. My shoulders relaxed instantly, letting out a relieved breath.
"It all started when I was eleven..." We spent the next hour and a half explaining what our lives were like as witches and wizards. Their attention never wavered and they took in every detail, gasped in all the right places and laughed at every amusing story.
"You went through so much" Rosalie whispered, her eyes saddened and full of tears that she's unable to shed.
"There are two things that haven't been mentioned, these are things that we were most anxious to explain," Ginny said as she played with the rings on her fingers.
"It's okay pups, take your time," Sirius said softly, already knowing the story and he too was dreading to hear it once again. I nodded and took a deep breath, taking Ginny's hand in mine.
"There is something called an animagus. It's a long process, most people don't bother because of how complicated it is. I had always been intrigued by the different type of magic that was offered to us, but more so by the ones that were not. Becoming an animagus is not taught in our school, mostly because something could go wrong and you have to go through the process of registering"
"What is it exactly?" Edward asked with a confused frown.
"It's where you're able to transform into a specific animal. We mentioned what a Patronus is, and people who have animagus' forms are usually identical to their Patronus'. However, on rare occasions, do they not match. My Patronus is an otter and yet, I'm able to transform into a wolf"
"That doesn't explain why you were able to run as fast as us" Edward commented, making the wolves look at us with a confused frown. I glanced at Ginny, who was chewing on her bottom lip with her head lowered, I let out a sigh and wrapped an arm around her shoulder, she immediately leaned into my touch.
"As Voldemort took over, myself, Harry and Ronald went on the run to search for the Horcruxes. During that time, Ginny remained at Hogwarts along with a handful of our other friends. One afternoon, I was scoping out the area and came across some snatchers, who were like bounty hunters and were capturing runaways. Unfortunately, due to my lack of sleep and malnourished, I wasn't in my best form to escape them-"

"Where were you?" Sam asked Harry with narrowed eyes. Harry's head was lowered in shame, the guilt had always remained, no matter how many times I told him it wasn't his fault.
"Harry had spent the evening before and that morning on watch, it was his time to rest. Anyway, I had been captured by the three men, though they seemed different from the other snatchers we had come across. They were pale, sickly so and had glowing red eyes, I was knocked out before I could understand what was happening. I woke up a few hours later, in a dimly lit room which resembled our hospital wing, back at Hogwarts. At first, I felt hopeful that maybe I was found by a professor or someone who managed to save me from the snatchers and brought me to the school to get me treated. My vision was somewhat blurry from the impact I received on the back of my head but I managed to focus on my surroundings after a while. I noticed that there were rows of beds, all occupied by figures who were asleep or comatose, except one. It was hard to see the girl properly at that point, but she was curled into a ball and was crying. I reached out to her and tried my hardest to gain some answers, that's when I realised that the girl was Ginny-"
"What!?" Paul growled, making everyone jump at his outburst. However, his face softened when he saw the tears pouring down his imprint face and immediately rushed forward to give her comfort.
"She had been taken on her way to Hogwarts, death eaters were searching high and low for Harry, Ronald and me, and they thought they might have found us on the Hogwarts express. For some unknown reason, they chose to take Ginny instead of anyone else and had brought her to an institute, I arrived only an hour or so later. We spent a week being experimented on, it was excruciating and we were completely in the dark about what their reasoning was or what they hoped to achieve. It wasn't until a few days later, had they succeeded... Or so they thought-" my attention was drawn to Ginny, who grabbed hold of my hand and gave me a brief nod, allowing me to stand back as she took over the story.
"Throughout the week that we had stayed there, many had died due to complications or because the vampires lost control of their hunger. Hermione and I were the only magical people in the institute, the others were muggles and it seems their bodies weren't strong enough to handle the experiments. It was one evening, I would say around eight pm when they tested a new potion on us. At first, nothing happened but then we were engulfed by this horrendous pain that I could only assume our screams were able to be heard from miles away. I felt this ice-cold feeling rushing through my veins, it was as if my insides were being frozen and yet, my skin felt like it was on fire. We went through the pain for three whole hours, though it felt like it was never-ending. We must have passed out from the pain because when we woke up, we felt different. We were so drowsy that we hadn't realised that we weren't in the institution any longer, but were being carried through a forest"

"Who-?"
"Remus and I were hunting down some death eaters when we heard a scream, and somehow, we recognised them immediately. We managed to kill the majority of the vampires and death eaters before we found them both, who was still unconscious at that point"
"We must have passed out again because when we woke up, we were in Sirius's childhood home. We were cautious around them because we weren't sure what the experiment had done to us, the last thing we wanted was to hurt them. We spent a few days in bed, Sirius and Remus brought our food to our rooms and stayed with us the majority of the time unless they were on missions. It was when Remus suggested we shower that we realised what happened-"
"Our movements were ridiculously fast, we couldn't walk at our normal speed and we would usually crash into things because of it. Our eyesight had improved and we were able to see every little thing, down to small dust particles and bugs that would crawl across the floor-"
"Wait, that sounds like-" I nodded my head with a small smile.
"We were vampires and at the same time, we weren't"
"W-What do you mean?" Jared asked with wide eyes, I glanced around the room nervously as I took in the pale and shocked faces. I took a deep breath.
"We are half vampires, half shape shifters or Animagus and half witches. The only two of our kind" The room was silent, so silent that you could hear a pin drop.
"Do you drink blood?" Carlisle questioned with a curious tone, I glance in his direction to find he was calm which seemed to ease my nerves slightly.
"No, we don't need blood-"
"So, what's on your mind?" Luna interrupted, looking at the wolves with an intense stare. The wolves remained silent for a few moments, all exchanging looks as if they were communicating by a single stare.
"You're my imprint, Hermione. Nothing will change that, especially not this" Sam announced softly as he approached me, tears sprung to my eyes as I lowered my head. My breath hitched as I felt a finger under my chin, raising it slowly as I came face to face with chocolate brown eyes.
"You are everything I ever wanted in a woman. You're beautiful, feisty, smart, strong and caring, not only to me but the whole pack. You make a great Alpha Female, Hermione. You being part vampire only makes you that much more special" At this point, tears were pouring down my cheeks and I couldn't quite find the words to say, so instead, I jumped into his arms and wrapped my legs are his torso. One of his arms wrapped around my back whilst one of his hands laid in my hair, holding me against him.
Around us, everyone was watching with wide smiles. Tears escaped Luna and Pansy's eyes whilst Ginny remained still and nervous due to the fact Paul had yet to speak.
"Love?" Ginny's head snapped in his direction, to find him looking down at her with a small smile.
"Did you honestly think this changed anything?" Ginny remained silent, only lowering her head as guilt began to eat away at her. They had been getting along amazingly, and despite how close they are, she still felt as if this new information would put an end to their relationship.
"Come here," He said softly, his arms wide open. She immediately ran into his embrace, her face snuggled into his chest as her arms wrapped around his torso.
"You are mine, always have been and always will be" He whispered into her ear, making her nod against him before he placed a kiss on the top of her head.
We spent the next few hours answering as many questions as they had, both I and Ginny were curled against our men whilst the others listened to our stories of the magical world. Sirius was the main entertainment for the Cullens and the Pack, and somehow, making them all laugh had brought them to some sort of non-hostile friendship.
"So, about that date," Sam said quietly, not wanting the others to overhear. I hummed in acknowledgement, looking over to my right with a smile.
"How about we do it tomorrow? We've nearly finished with the garden and we are going to take a break for a few days before we start with the entrance area"
"I think that's a great idea, and I know you most likely want to pick the destination but I have the perfect place in mind," I said with hope-filled eyes, making him chuckle.
"Alright beautiful, you get to pick the place this once" An excited grin forms on my face and I place a kiss on the corner of his mouth, making him glance down at me with a smile of his own.
"You missed" He pouted.
"You'll get a kiss if I enjoy the date" I teased, making him raise an eyebrow in a challenging way.
"Better make it extra special then" His tone was deep and his eyes were filled with affection and love, making me clench my thighs together as I felt heat rush to my core. He must have noticed my movements because he let out a low growl and nuzzled his face into my neck, taking a deep breath as he inhaled my scent. The feeling of his breath on my skin caused shivers, having to bite my lip to stop the small moan that wanted desperately to escape.
"Pup, would you like a hot chocolate?" Sirius asked as he stood, glancing between Sam and me with a raised eyebrow. I nodded my head with a smile.
"Yes please"
"Sam, would you like one?" His face left my neck instantly, looking up at Sirius with a thoughtful expression.
"Uh, yes please sir" A grin formed on Sirius' face as he nodded and left the room. I looked over at Sam with a raised eyebrow, a questionable look on my face.
"He's your uncle and I see how much they both mean to you. I have to be respectful" My heart melted instantly, a smile appearing on my face as I placed a kiss on his cheek.
"You're so thoughtful"
"Only for you, my love"
