《Together we howl》Chapter 5

Ginny's POV

It has only been a few days since we arrived and I already feel completely at home. Of course, I miss my family and friends but after the war, I found myself unable to relax properly, especially when walking around Diagon Alley or Hogsmeade. Returning to Hogwarts was horrible, no one except Hermione noticed how much I was struggling. Every corner I took or every corridor I walked through, all I saw were the dead bodies that were scattered throughout the castle. I wasn't able to heal, which made the nightmares a lot worse but since arriving here, they haven't been so bad.

We decided to spend the day in La Push and after revealing that I had never stepped foot on a beach, Hermione was adamant that after some lunch, that would be our first stop. Due to our ability to change into a wolf, the cold doesn't bother us as much as other people and luckily for us, the weather is cloudy but somewhat warm compared to the cold mountains of Scotland that we were used to.

I slipped on my green two-piece bikini with some jean shorts and an oversized hoodie that reaches mid-thigh. I slipped on my shoes and grabbed my wand, placing it into the holster that was strapped around my forearm before making my way downstairs. Hermione was sitting around the kitchen island, a coffee in hand whilst reading some paperwork that was laid upon the counter.

"What's that?" I questioned curiously, making her jump slightly.

"Kingsley sent me some information on the tribe and vampires"

"And?"

"And the Quileute tribe settled into the reservation in 1855-"

"Fucking hell that's old" I interrupted, she sent me a glare which caused me to clamp my mouth shut and take a seat opposite her.

"The Quileute tribe settled in La Push and became fishermen and shipbuilders. The tribe went through a lot of pain and many horrid deaths occurred due to a conflict between three people. A spirit of a chief had become jealous of a wolf that roamed the forest and had come up with an idea that changed the Quileute tribe forever. He asked the wolf if he could share his body with him and the wolf complied. As a single being, the wolf and the man went to the village where the people ran and screamed for the warrior's help. They came with spears but noticed the wolf's odd behaviour, it was retreating from the warriors and tried to yelp the songs of their people. The warriors realised what was happening and that the wolf was being influenced by a spirit. Someone had become angry at the thought of the spirit chief using animals to influence people and had rushed towards the body of the chief. The spirit chief returned to his body but was unable to fight off his murderer. The spirit chief instantly returned to the wolf and was feeling great rage, the wolf's body shook and before their eyes, he changed into a human. The murderer tried to run but was instantly killed by the wolfman which was a lot easier due to his increase in strength, and for many years, he led the tribe because he did not age. He fathered many sons and had found that they were able to transform into wolves when reaching manhood. Throughout time, many children were born from his bloodline but found that some, were made to be warriors and were able to transform and not age whilst others, did not and continued to grow older"

"Do we not know who the chiefs are now?" I questioned as I made myself a cup of coffee.

"I have an idea, but I can't be too sure" I nodded my head in understanding before retaking my seat.

"What about the vampires?"

"Not entirely sure of their identity either, but from what Kingsley wrote, they are what vampires call vegetarians-"

"They eat plants instead of blood?" I questioned with a confused frown, Hermione let out a laugh and shook her head.

"No, they only drink animal blood. They have some sort of treaty with the Quileute tribe, mainly the pack. They must keep each other secret from the humans and should not arm one another, it's said that they aren't allowed to cross territories and cause any trouble. They have a deep hatred for one another and are known to be natural enemies"

"How will they react to having two women who are both vampires and wolves?" I asked nervously, Hermione let out a sigh and shrugged her shoulders.

"I'm not sure Gin, we are also witches and could help both sides if needed. Though I have a feeling that the pack will be extremely important to us, I just don't know why" She said as she ran her fingers through her hair before rising from her seat.

"Come, we will pick up some food on the way and take it to the beach. I have a surprise outside too" She said with a playful wink before walking towards the door, excitement built inside me and I dashed after her, making her laugh when I nearly tripped. When we left the house and locked the door, my eyes landed on a beautiful car.

"When did you get this?" I questioned in disbelief as we approached it.

"This morning when you were sleeping" she shrugged with a wide smile, I clapped in excitement and waited until she unlocked the doors before jumping into the passenger seat. The interior was even more beautiful with the black leather seats were rather comfortable and everything else is red.

"You take your Gryffindor pride to the next level" I teased, causing her to roll her eyes with a smile before starting the car. It roared to life, causing me to jump in shock which made her laugh.

"I must warn you, she's fast" and before I could reply, she sped full speed away from our home, making me cling to my seat in fear and excitement. It wasn't long until we arrived outside of a diner, receiving quite a few stares from people who were standing by their cars. We jumped out of the car and made our way toward the building, it was quite big compared to the one in Forks and a lot more homely.

"What do you want to-" I stopped mid-sentence as I noticed Hermione sniffing subtly. My eyebrows furrowed in confusion before a scent struck my nose, making me look around for the person.

"Wolf" she whispered. I nodded my head and grabbed her hand, pulling her towards the counter. The diner was rather packed and I began to grow frustrated when I couldn't identify who the scent belong.

"I can't find it" I whispered, she hummed in agreement as we were beckoned forward by the waitress who stood behind the counter. Hermione ordered multiple varieties of sandwiches, along with stacks of pancakes and drinks. We were told to take a seat whilst we wait and when we did, I had finally found the source.

"It's him," I said as I nudged her arm, gesturing towards a muscular man with short raven coloured hair and russet skin tone. He was extremely handsome, which makes me wonder how the others would look.

"He's hot" Hermione complimented, making my eyes widen in surprise. She noticed my expression and let out a small laugh.

"Why do you look so surprised? I have called people hot before"

"Oh really? Who?" I challenged, making her raise an eyebrow with a mischievous smirk.

"Bill, Charlie and the twins," She said with a shrug, causing my face to screw up in disgust.

"Ew, they are my brothers"

"Oh be quiet, I'm not blind Gin. They are extremely handsome and George can kiss pretty well" I let out a gasp and my hands immediately went to my mouth, causing her to burst into laughter, gaining some attention from people around us, including the wolf.

"You did not kiss my brother" I whisper yelled, she simply shrugged her shoulders and raised from her seat, collecting the bags of food. I shook my head and let out a groan but stopped when I felt eyes on me. I raised my head and my eyes connected with the shapeshifters, who were watching me with a slight tilt of the head.

"Come on Gin, the beach is waiting" Hermione sang with a wide smile, making me roll my eyes. I looked at the shapeshifter once again, noticing he hadn't taken his eyes off of us. I sent him a flirtatious wink and let out a small laugh when his cheeks began to go red. We made it back into the car and Hermione once again sped out of the parking lot.

As we arrived at the beach, I cast a charm on everything that needed to remain hot and another to keep them fresh. I let out an excited squeal and removed my shoes and socks before making our journey down the beach. The sand felt amazing against my feet and even though it was rather cold, It didn't bother me.

"They should have a beach near Hogwarts," I said with a soft sigh.

"It's in the mountains Gin and besides, the black lake was more than enough for the students. You saw what happened to Blaise, Draco pushed him in and nearly drowned, can you imagine how many accidents would occur if we had a blood beach"

"Ah, your probably right," I said with a small chuckle, reminiscing of our final year at Hogwarts when we were hanging out by the lake with Blaise, Draco and Theo. It's rather odd that we became rather close with our enemies, but after what they did in the war, they deserved full forgiveness, though it took Hermione a little longer to accept their apologies, especially Draco's.

"I think this is the perfect place" She announced with a cheerful smile as she laid a blanket on the sand, along with our bags and food. Loud laughter caught my attention, making me look to our left where a small crowd of men were playing with a ball.

"Do you want to eat first or go swimming?" Hermione questioned, snapping me out of my gaze.

"Swimming" I cheered, causing her to nod with a bright smile. we stripped out of our clothes, me with my green two-piece bikini whilst Hermione had an identical one but in red. She took my hand and we both ran towards the water, unknown to us, we gained the attention of four men.

Jacob's POV

After waiting for my large order, I made my way out of the diner and towards Sam's car. I jumped into the driver's seat and let out a frustrated sigh as I placed the multiple bags onto the seat beside me. Having to buy food for four, fully grown wolves was hard work, especially with how much we eat. As I made my journey towards the beach, where the others were waiting, I couldn't help but think of those two girls. They were both unfamiliar to me, which was quite surprising since La Push and Forks' population wasn't large. I was intrigued but also on guard, their scents were nothing like I've ever smelled. The one with long brown hair smelled of roses and strawberries whilst the redhead smelled of cherry and trees. At first, I thought one of them was my imprint because of how intense their scents were, but they weren't and yet, their scent made me feel calm and safe for the first time since my transformation.

I shook away my thoughts as I parked the car and made my way down to the boys.

"Finally, I'm starving" Paul groaned and sat beside me as he tore into the bags. I rolled my eyes and grabbed the three burgers that I ordered, along with fries and a cola.

"What took you so long?" Sam, who's the alpha of our pack, asked before taking a bite of his burger.

"Long cue" I responded with a shrug before looking out into the sea. My eyes widened and my mouth dropped open slightly at the scene. Two familiar women, walking out of the cold sea with tight and revealing bikinis.

"Dude, are you alright?" Jared questioned as he snapped his fingers in front of my face and when he received no response, he followed my line of sight and his actions came to a sudden halt.

"Holy fuck" He whispered in awe, gaining the other two's attention. They turned their heads and their eyes widened, the four of us completely awestruck with the two beauties.

"Who are they?" Paul asked as our eyes followed their every move.

"I have no clue" Sam responded before shaking his head and turning his attention back onto his food.

"Stop gawping, it's disrespectful" He demanded, making the three of us immediately turn away. We felt a sudden gust of wind and then the familiar and comforting scent hit my nose, making me take a deep breath. I noticed the others responded the same and were sniffing the air rapidly.

"It must be the girls I saw at the diner" I whispered to them and their attention immediately turned to me.

"Who are they?"

"Are they hot?"

"I don't know who they are but yes, they are extremely hot but their scents are what is confusing me" Their eyebrows furrowed in confusion before they took a deep breath. Their bodies immediately relaxed and their confusion grew at their reaction.

"Why do I suddenly feel so calm?" Sam asked.

"That's how I felt at the diner, I picked up their scents the moment they walked in but wasn't able to identify that it was from them until they sat down. Their scent made me feel safe, calm, happy and anxious all at the same time"

"I know what you mean, it's like my wolf wants to see if they are okay," Jared said as he rubbed his temples in circular motions. We nodded our heads in understanding before turning toward the girls, and to our surprise, they were already watching us with smiles.

"You don't think they can hear us, do you?" I asked Sam nervously, his eyebrows were furrowed but his body was calm and not tense.

"You think they are shape shifters too?" He questioned curiously but not once taking his eyes off the girls, who were sitting quite far away and were unable to see their faces clearly.

"I'm not sure, they could be. Their accents weren't from around here, they sounded... British"

"Fuck, those accents are hot" Paul groaned and laid down on the sand, making us chuckle slightly. Angelic laughter was heard from behind us, gaining our attention once again. Their heads were thrown back, and loud laughter travelled through the winds which once again, caused my body to relax.

"I need to take a nap," Jared said through a yawn.

"Me too" the rest of us responded in unison and we laid back onto the sand.
