《Being Nigerian In A Foreign Country.》Respect.

I know I've already, touched on a bit of this on a different chapter, but I just have to add this. Okay, wait o, how is it that children, teenagers, young adults can just open their mouth and talk to their parents or any adult any how, as though they're talking to their peers?
Me, I wonder o.
Some would even say stuff like, "Mum get out of my room!!" or slam the door in their parents' faces. Or maybe they're in the living room with their parents and the door bell rings then they'll say "Mum/dad can you get the door?!"May the Almighty God help you if you try that in anAfrican home. Ahhhhhhhhhh! Dem born you well? If you were raised by proper Nigerian parents, then you know wassup. Try it and it's premature death for you.
You see, no matter how old you are, whether you have children of your own or not, you cannot talk back to your parents or shout at them, because trust me, they will still slap sense into your head, in front of your children sef.
I have some older friends here, who tell me how their children talk to them. And all that goes on in my head is, I cannot even try harbour any idea of such in my head, because . . . hm.
"Oh mum don't be so daft." I once heard a teenager tell her mum,
"Mum, don't be so daft."
"Don't be daft"??? Ehen! Wonders shall never cease to end. How can you even use the words, 'mum' and 'daft' in the same sentence, eh?
Or another one, they'll say is, "Hey mum, come here!"
Exactly!!! lol
I see all of these happen here in Britain and I just laugh because I think, "where I'm from it's like an abomination." In fact, it is sef. There's no need for the simile.

Nigerian/African parents are like demi-gods. What they say goes. Period. No arguing. You can't start quarrelling with them, because, trust me, you won't win. They know everything. If they say the grass is blue and the sky is green. Don't try to challenge them, just agree, at least in their presence.
For instance, during an argument when your mum is mad at you and she's shouting and you're remain silent, she'll probably say, "Oh so you cannot talk now abi, you're keeping me quiet." If you talk, she'll then say, "Is it me you're talking to now. Oh, so, you've grown wings."
What will somebody do na. Ahnahn! So annoying.
Even if thy're wrong about something, and they know, and they know that you know, they'll NEVER admit it. NEVER! And the annoying thing, you can't even challenge them o. How? You just gotta bottle that shit up.
Honestly, you can never win with them. Any arguments you have with your parents with you talking back at them, would always be in your dream or in your imagination. And it should remain so lol.
They be like . . .
Next thing is, "Where is my belt?" or even quicker they'll remove their slippers to whip some manners in your head, or slap you till you see stars.
lol
But you gotta love them though, because despite all these they still love us and would, do anything and everything for us.

Code Scarlet
Activate Code Scarlet! After crashing on a zombie-infested world, raised by the forgotten machines of the past; Flow spends her days scavenging the ruins of the colony in order to construct the ship that would take her far away from the rotting ruins. After an encounter with an unknown and hostile alien race known as fiends, Flow stumbles into a strange vault buried below the colony. Then, accidentally, she awakens an ancient android with no knowledge of herself, fueled only by the desire to destroy the fiends. So begins the intergalactic journey to find the Aigis and continue the androids mission, to complete Code Scarlet. ------------ A tail inspired by sci-fi fantasy settings like Star Wars and Destiny, with elements of Xenosaga and Mecha anime. It's a genre I'm definitely new in compared to my other works but am looking forward to exploring what this world would have to offer. Updates will be slow and inconsistent.
