"We should have code names, we are part of the CIA now." Raven grinned.
"I call Mystique." She quickly added. The boy with red had a silly grin on his face. Sean. That was his name.
"Damn, I wanted it be Mystique." Sean faked a sad look.
"Well too bad, plus." She used her mutant powers and changed into Sean.
"I'm way more mysterious than you." She turned back. The blonde guy, what was his name? Alex. Looked amazed.
"What about you, Sean?" Raven asked. "What do you want to be called?" He grinned.
"I wanna be called...Banshee." I looked confused.
"Why would you want to be named after a wailing spirit?" I asked. He grinned at me.
He went in front of the table with the glasses kneeled down.
"You might wanna cover your ears." And so we did. He did a super sonic scream and broke the big window looking onto the courtyard. We all looked amazed. I looked a little more annoyed. I felt like my ears are bleeding.
"What about you, Angel?" Raven asked.
"Well, my stage name was Angel, it kinda fits." She seemed very full of herself. She took off her vest and two wings unwrapped form her waist. I had to admit, I was impressed.
"You can fly?" She nodded.
"And.." She spat a fireball at the statue. The head burned off. I was kinda grossed out but I didn't say it. I don't want a fireball flying at my head. I don't think I'd look good as a puddle of goo.
"What about you, Hank?" Raven asked.
"How about Big foot?" Alex grinned I rolled my eyes. Guys like him got on my nerves. I felt electricity spark on my fingers when I got angry.

"You know what they say about guys with big feet, and yours are kinda small." I smirked at him. Raven and Hank both sent me a thankful smile. I smiled back.
"What about you, Darwin?" Darwin seemed like a really nice guy.
"Well Darwin is already a nickname plus adapt to survive and all." He went to the fish tank and stuck his head in. At first I thought he was crazy but then I saw gills on his neck. He adapted to breathing in water. He pulled his head out and wiped his face with a towel.
"So Alex, what can you do?" The once cocky boy got quiet.
"I...I can't do it...at least not in here."
"Well why don't you do it out there?" Darwin motioned to the courtyard. This won't end well.
He hesitated. Everyone chanted for him. I didn't. No point in fueling his ego.
"Alright." He grinned.
"Ya." Sean grinned.
He stood in front of the statue while we looked from behind the wall.
"Get back." He shouted, we moved but looked over again.
"Get back!" He yelled again. I didn't move. Alex started swerving his hips and red rings of pure energy appeared. I started playing Hips Don't Lie in my head. Alex aimed and threw them everywhere. One cut the statue in half. We all sat back down. Everyone looked a bit more wary of Alex now.
"And you McKenzie?" Raven asked. I grinned.
"Alex could you help me?" I smiled sweetly. He looked a little wary. He stood up. I tapped his shoulder and he jumped.
"Ow you shocked me. "
"I know genius. I can control electricity. "
"Also X - Ray Vision. Nice abs." I grinned at Alex. He put his arms over his stomach. Everyone laughed.

"Lucky. What about your codename?" Sean sulked a little.
"Volt."
"I like it." Raven smiled. I sat down.
Later Charles came and he was not happy. He immediately left, we stayed in the room.
Alex came and sat next to me while I was talking to Raven. She gave me a good luck look and went to Hank.
"Do you have a problem with me? "He asked.
"I do." I plainly said.
"Why? What did I do to you?"
"You're cocky, going after Hank. Acting all shy just so you could get your chants."
"I'm not cocky. You don't know me or what I've been through."
"I bet it's not as bad as what I've been though. "
"Maybe not, couldn't we just I don't know start over. Hi I'm Alex." He grinned. I rolled my eyes.
"McKenzie." He smiled.
We heard a commotion from the doors.

Trickster's Tale
Be careful when demanding reparations from gods. They rarely own up to their mistakes. Instead, she curses him with cowardice, limiting his combat and magical potential. Little does the goddess know that nothing can stand in the way of Perry's sheer will. Trickster's Tale (Book 1): Is That A Lute In Your Pocket will release on Kindle Unlimited on the 10th of May.Due to KU's exclusivity rules, I've had to take most of book 1 down.Book 1 Bard's Ballad takes place in the same extended Universe as my other story, The Houndsman. It's set on a distant 'disk', though. As a result, the magic system is unique in comparison and has a harder LitRPG system. While the story utilises stats, it doesn't take them seriously and occasionally makes fun of regular LitRPG mechanics.
