Jack quietly wrote in his notebook, telling all about how horrible and cruel his roommate was. He grew frustrated as he wrote, becoming angry and writing so hard to where the paper ripped.
Mark looked up, seeing the frustration on Jack's face. "Uh... everything fine over there?" Jack looked up, a scowl on his face.
"Just peachy!" he said angrily, throwing his notebook down and reaching for his fox. The stuffed toy usually helped him calm down, but not this time. He picked at a seam, and then, pulled it, creating a large hole in the fox's head.
Jack gasped, tears filling his eyes as he just realized what he had done. His eyes darted up to Mark, expecting a snarky comment, but surprisingly, nothing came out. He gripped his hair in his hands tightly, and let out an angry groan.
"Fucking!.. Shit..." Jack let the tears roll, his sleeves being the tissues for his snotty nose and salty tears. Mark took notice to the pastel boy's actions, and stood up.
"Let me see it," he grumbled, sticking his hand out. Afraid Mark would do something to it, Jack quickly grabbed the fox and held it tightly. "God da-" Mark clicked his teeth together and sighed, putting his face in his palms. "Just let me see the damn fox!"
Jack hesitantly gave it to Mark, quickly realizing his mistake when Mark snatched it up. "Y-you're not gonna... do anything to it are you?" Jack stuttered, standing up and following Mark. He watched as the punk opened up a drawer to reveal a small sewing kit and some other junk.

Mark grabbed the kit and slammed the drawer shut, sitting down at his desk and turning on the lamp. He prepped the needle with thread, and looked back at Jack. "Does your fox have cry baby feelings like you do?" Mark half joked, pulling off a smirk. Jack looked away and blushed, not answering the question.
Jack watched as Mark slowly sewed the hole back up, finishing moments later. He held up the fox and gave it to Jack, a slight smile of confidence on his lips. "I only did that so you would shut the fuck up. Don't expect me to do anything else nice for you."
Jack smiled and took the toy, thanking Mark quietly. "How did you know how to sew?" he asked, sitting down on his bed. Mark grabbed the kit and put it back in the drawer, and turned to Jack.
"My mom taught me. It's nothing special really, I'm sure everyone can sew..." Mark narrowed his eyed and grinned,"Well, maybe not you." He sat down on his bed and grabbed his phone before laying down. "What were you writing about so angrily over there?" Mark asked, opening up his camera app to fix his hair.
"You," Jack mumbled. He looked at the sewing job Mark had done, and smiled slightly. Maybe there is some good in him Jack thought.
"Oh," Mark responded, turning on his side so he was facing Jack. He watched as the boy inspected his job, and bit his lip. Fuck Mark. You shouldn't have shown your soft side to him. He licked his lips before turning the camera from selfie mode to front facing mode, and snapped a picture of Jack secretly.
Little did he know, his flash was on, and Jack quickly looked up. "Did you just take a picture of me?" Jack asked, tilting his head. Mark threw his phone down on his nightstand, and blushed madly.

"N-no. I was just uh, testing out my flashlight," he lied, hoping Jack would fall for it. The Irishman shrugged his shoulders, and turned his attention back towards his fox.
Mark grabbed his phone again and looked at the picture he took. He smiled softly, and set the image as his wallpaper. Jesus Christ Mark, you haven't even known this boy for a week and you're already falling soft!
Jack finished his drawing, and looked over it again. He didn't realize at first, but he had drawn Mark's face with a flower crown on his head. Although Jack's skills weren't that great, Mark could surely make it out.
"Is that me?" he asked, startling Jack and making him jump. He closed his drawing pad and set it aside, clearing his throat before answering.
"You know Mark, there's a lot of people out there with red hair, and gauges, and... stubble... and uh... so maybe it is you! I-I just like your hair, that's all!" Jack noticed he was talking too much, and shut himself up by covering his mouth.
Mark forced himself to not smile, although it was hard. "It was..." Ugly. Stupid. Dumb. "Cute." Fucking A Mark. Jack was getting to Mark, and Mark knew it. He knew that this boy will slowly steal his heart and make him be what he never thought he could possibly be...

Thrust into a world governed by tabletop RPG rules, Cire must survive an onslaught of wondrous and horrific challenges. His peculiar race, charismatic personality, and talent for turning negative situations sideways might just be the tools he needs to achieve his goals, or they may lead to his ruin. Adventurer Book II - Dawn of an Empire Short story prequel- The Lurking Lair: An Adventuer Series Short Story Summary for the LitRPG savvy reader: Looking for a LitRPG that is more tabletop traditional role playing game and less MMORPG? This is probably your cup of tea. Long term progression with a heavy slice of life element. Strong mix and inclusion of ancient Greek life, values, and myths. Hence, the world can be a bit more harsh and brutish than modern sensibilities. The system is tangible and knowable beyond the MC's insights. The MC is more of an everyman than someone specifically chosen for the experience. Author's Note: This is my debut novel. Up until this point, the only thing I have written of comparable length has been non-fiction and related to history. I am immensely grateful to all the folks who have given me feedback and helped me improve my writing.

8 139Tales of the 33rd universe - A Mech Designer story
Meet Marcus Caelum, since young he wanted nothing else to play with mechs. He studied, worked hard and he finally did it, now he is a Mech Designer (provisional). He achieved his dream and now is the time for realization, he now will learn that not all is great, that there are things to learn and that if he wants to do the job well he better adapt. Cover taken from a Battletech manual. This is my "first" novel so do forgive the quality a bit.It is mostly a Slice of life following what I believe a Mech Designer life would be. It will have action, science, comedy, dark moments and some adventure. It will barely have any romance and little actual combat (he won't go off fighting enemies everywhere, the MC is not a fighter). It's medium sci-fi, most hard science with some mana altering normal materials. The pacing is a bit slow, it takes some time for the story to advance. The first arc is completed and the novel is until further notice on HIATUS.I may continue the Tales of the 47th Universe to try my hand at another style and pacing. More info in chapter 22.
